Jin nods "Ok.." she said looking out the window

"I'm not even going to ask where you got that." Seth drove them a short distance to the pet store pulling into the parking lot. "What do cats need? Traveling cage, bed, litter box unless you want it to live outside, food and water bowls, kitten food, brush, collar-hmm maybe we can add a small bell to that along with an identification tag...maybe a scratching post and some toys so it doesn't chew up the furniture." Seth led Jin into the pet store which was separated by animals. There was a lot of chirping, barking and meowing from the birds, cats and dogs but they also had fish in the back, rabbits, ferrets and guinea pigs in three cages in the center of the pet store, aisles of pet food categorized by pet and animal supplies. Reptiles were in another area of the pet store, separate from the mammals. Cages for pets were stacked in boxes along walls with demo cages open and of course the birds were in cages. There was also books on small racks on how to take care of the animal you wanted along with animals they didn't carry. "Well go look around and pick out a cat you want," Seth said as he wandered over to the puppies. @The Unamed Character

Seth had wandered from the puppies and picked up cat supplies as well as a 25 lb bag of kitten food. Putting the small items into a basket and hefting the bag of cat food over a shoulder he looks at the kitten before walking into a (thankfully) short line to pay for the purchases. Setting the kitten food on the convener belt, he also sets down the basket of supplies as well. Once the supplies had been paid for and bagged, along with the kitten, Seth walked over to a machine that made identification tags and put some coins into it to create a tag for the cat. When the tag was complete, he put it into a bag and walked out of the pet store, opening the passenger door for Jin and putting the cat supplies in the backseat of the car before going back and shutting the passenger side door. "Right keep a tight hold of your kitten," Seth said as he got in and began driving home. "You can put the kitten in your room and get it set up. I'll leave you a metal trash can as well so you can put the food in the trash can for the kitten." @The Unamed Character

Jin nods as she holds the kitten to her chest "Thank you" she said

"You're welcome," Seth said. "You can get the kitten set up in your room and then come downstairs to the kitchen where I'll show you where everything goes. After that you can explore the house and the immediate grounds if you wish," he said. He was glad to drive out of the city and head home and with all the food he'd bought, there would be no need to go into town for a few weeks. Hopefully Jin was good at making meal plans and knowing how to make meals last. When they got home, Seth parked the car and grabbed the cat food and bags of cat supplies before opening Jin's door and leading the way to the house. "Don't worry about shutting the door. I'll get that when I come back to get the groceries and your other stuff," he said.

Jin does as she is told and goes into her room and sets the Kitten up in her room

Seth puts the bag of cat food on the floor and leaves, returning a few moments later with a medium sized metal trashcan. Pulling out a switchblade he cut open the bag of cat food and dumped it into the box along with a metal 1 cup measuring cup. "You can use that to give it food so it doesn't end up overeating and getting sick," Seth said. "Make sure it gets fresh water whenever it runs out and try not to spill the cat litter on the floor either." He dumps some of the cat litter into the litter box and sets it on some newspapers in a corner. "Squirt it with a water bottle if it tries to go to the bathroom outside of the litter box or attempts to ruin the furniture," he said before leaving Jin to herself and goes outside. The sound of a car door being slammed shut can be heard as Seth begins gathering up the groceries.

Andalib wandered the bookshelves, looking at all the books. She picked up a few fantasy, a couple of mystery, and some sci-fi books such as 2312 and Aurora by Kim Stanley Robinson. A couple of poetry books by Emily Dickinson and Walt Whitman and a couple books on art; one being on art history itself and one on romanticism art as well as a book on architecture. Putting all the books into the basket, she searched the book shelves and plucked down a book called Old Yeller and a few children picture books as she liked the illustrations in them. She even picked up a journal and found a sketchbook that she put in there as well before pulling out her list and drawing a line through the books. @Flack

Seth put the bags he was carrying on the counters and then went out to get more of the groceries he'd bought. He continued making three more trips before he had carried all the groceries in the house and then went to get Jin's clothing that he'd bought before carrying it up to her room, locking his car behind him. Reaching her room, he knocked on the door and then left her clothing outside the door before heading back downstairs to put the food away. @The Unamed Character

Seth spends his time putting all the groceries away where they belong, throws the bags away and then goes into the living room to rest from the day out in the city. Lying on the couch, Seth grabbed the remote and turned the television on to the afternoon news which is going through a Breaking News report.


'A community of shadow demons, located in the Rocky Mountains, was killed today along with a few slaves when they were sleeping as rebel humans came into the community. Authorities suspect the rebel humans were let in by some slaves who weren't happy with their life and those slaves who tried to protect their masters were quickly eradicated by the rebellious faction of humans. All the shadow demons were lost and there were no survivors. Not even the children were spared in the brutal attack and the slaves who joined the rebels escaped with them. This is Fang Lumar with Breaking News for Channel 7.'





"Just great," Seth said to himself as the news then switched to local news. @The Unamed Character

Andalib began reading Old Yeller while waiting for Cedric to check out so they could continue shopping when the Breaking News came on in the hallway. Andalib set the book back down in the basket and nervously stepped closer to Cedric, a few other loyal slaves doing the same things to their masters as some of the Shadow Demons looked at the slaves in the bookstore. She was not sure what a community of Shadow Demons being killed by rebel humans would mean for her and wasn't in the mood to find out. @Flack

Cedric was intrigued by her wide range of choices. But then again variety was the spice of life. Some saying he'd heard years ago. He checked out. And then saw the breaking news report. Humans killing demons and demons killing humans. Cedric shook his head and sighed. He looked at Andalib, "You'd think one of our races would get tired of death, but it seems we never do something our kinds have in common." He gave her a sad smile. "Now it's very important you stay close I don't want to have to kill some idiot for acting out in anger and doing something to you. But I will if I have too." He said coldly. It was probably to much to ask for peace, he knew demons were usually cruel to their slaves and did unspeakable things to them but surely not all of them were like that.

Andalib nodded and waited for Cedric to buy the books and journal before following him out of the bookstore and once more back into the crowd milling around. However where there had been noise and chaoticness...well it was still chaos...there also seemed to be a tension in the air as a result of the news. Nevertheless they made it to the clothing store next without any trouble for which the servant girl was grateful and hoped their luck would hold up. Once in the store she pulled out her list and began looking for the clothing she'd written down. @Flack

Cedric stayed close to her, the tension in the air made his hair stand on end. Luckily no one had been stupid, hopefully things would calm down quickly. He doubted they would be you never know. Cedric followed her through the store, it seemed humans needed lots of clothes. He wasn't one to judge he had spent a whole year at one point in his wolf form, and had no need for them then. He had his few shirts and pants and a pair of shoes that he only worn when he came to the city. "Well so far things seem to be going well." He smiled at her reassuringly.

Jin came downstairs in her skirt and blouse "sir..." She said calmly "anything you need?"

Andalib absently nodded as Cedric spoke and got her pajamas, socks, underwear and bars out of the way first since that was all together. Stopping at a shelf, she pulled out the pen she'd been carrying around all day and crossed out those lines on her list before heading towards the jeans that lined a wall. Not knowing what her size in clothing was, she grabbed a few jeans and some shirts before going into a fitting room. She left the ones that didn't fit in the dressing room and put the ones that did back in the basket. She then went over to the kimonos which she was surprised to see and picked out a few different designs before putting them into the basket along with her gloves, scarf, hat, winter coat and rain coat. Pulling out her pen again she drew lines through the clothing section of her list before putting both paper and pen back into her pocket. @Flack

Seth looked at Jin as she came downstairs. "No I don't need anything," he said. "But I'd advise you not to go outside for a while without me. Though most demons won't cross into my lands, there is bound to end up being trouble like always whenever humans kill demons and since a community was killed by rebel humans, there are some younger ones who won't hesitate to retaliate against all the slaves for their kind being killed. But you can sit anywhere you like unless someone is over and then you'll have to sit on the floor." @The Unamed Character

"Muffin..." Jin said "Her name is Muffin..."

The store had quite the the selection. He followed Andalib around watching the basket get fuller. This was going to be quote the trek back to the cabin, bit he was looking forward to it, and they appeared to be making decent headway with the lists. "Well things seem to be going well all things considered." He said as he watched he pick out her put her list and pen in her pocket.

Andalib smiled at the comment, having looked at where they needed to go next before walking out of the store after Cedric paid for the clothing and heading down to the other side of the mall to the shoe store to get some winter boots, sneakers, high heels, rain boots and a few more packages of socks as well as some slippers for when it got cold in the winter. Then she dragged Cedric to an art supply store and got some pencils and a couple more sketchbooks before looking at a directory. It looked like the weapons store was on the second level along with the music store so she looked around for an escalator and spotted one. Balancing some of the bags she was carrying, Andalib carefully got on the escalator once she Cedric with her and it took them up to the second floor. Stopping at a directory on the second floor she looked for the music store and weapons store. @Flack

"At least it isn't a tom cat. Those are generally moody and she'd probably name the thing Gator just to be odd," Seth muttered under his breath. He sat up and looked at Jin. "Well the outfit fits and actually looks nice," he complimented. It was certainly better than the outfit his second third female slave had worn. Val had been obsessed with what fashion there was in the 1800s. He was thankful she was dead, he didn't care to imagine how she would have dragged him everywhere to buy the latest in clothing and shoes. Shaking his head to rid himself of those sad years of his life, Seth got up and made his way into the kitchen before coming back out with two glasses of ice tea which he set on the coffee table and some sandwiches and fruit salad from earlier. @The Unamed Character

There were so many bags it seemed highly unlikely that Andalib would be able to carry anymore. Cedric didn't care for the escolator, but it was nice what with all the bags. He stayed close the music store and weapons shop where next on the list if his memory served. He joined her at the directory. "It looks like we are getting close to the end of this venture, when we finish at the music and weapons stores would you like to get some lunch?"
