Also since y'all are on the topic of the pub anyway, I was thinking of maybe making my 2nd character a barkeep, but I wanted to run that by everyone involved first to make sure I'm not stepping on anyone's toes or stealing anyone's thunder.

Speaking of dynamics, Peony is definitely going to try to make a hard push to be a supplier for the restaurant and/or pub. I think it will be fun to try to sell a chef on the idea of a hybrid vegetable

I'd say Peony is likely to go to Eloise with lots of ideas and volunteer to assist with stuff. She's originally from a small rural town, so Peony is the type to jump right in and try to be helpful - understanding that it literally takes a village and you can't afford to not be neighborly when the neighborhood is so small. - She's probably already written letters to Eloise about farming logistics and inquiring if any help is needed for either the construction or landscaping process (she's not an architect, so this is more in the assisting with manual labor sense)

It sounds like Eloise might be the type to overwork, so it's inevitable that she'll end up meeting with Satoshi sooner or later. Hard to really say ahead of time how they'll interact since Satoshi is typically a bit more passive in getting to know others. Unless she's one to avoid the doctor - he's proactive when it comes to making sure everyone's health is his top priority. Prior to moving in, similar to Peony, he probably sent a letter - outlining his proposal to establish the clinic along with detailed logistics about everything. It's probably helpful, if a bit dry, but up to you what sort of first impression that would give of him where Eloise is concerned.

Ooh, Eloise is lovely!

Alani would definitely vibe with her vv well I think. They're both pretty friendly people so if they're together, people would have to squint from all the sun.

Also Alani has a bit of a mean streak at times, so it would be like:

Eloise: I don't know what to say without being mean
Alani: Let me -takes phone and starts typing-
Eloise: okay but don't be mean about it
Alani: -deleting everything she just typed-

Hard to say for sure until they meet, but I definitely see Peony getting along with Alani. She likes lively people since they match her energy level and also she admires creative types. Peony probably tries to visit as many local businesses as she can, but I feel like going to the hair dresser would be among her favorite places since it's the perfect place to try out something new and get a change of pace.

Satoshi is somewhat desensitized to excitable people, but finds it difficult to match their energy himself. Outside a professional setting, he'll likely struggle with knowing what to talk to Alani about. He's also the 'haircut once a year' type of guy. I'd be curious to see if they end up getting along better than might be expected though.

Conversely, I can definitely see Satoshi getting along with Carter. Probably because they both have that first born, high levels of parental pressure backstory in common. Whether they'd actually talk about that is another story, but they are both inclined to be reserved and methodical so I feel like they'd vibe regardless.

Peony I think would like Carter and appreciate his practical skills. She definitely respects competence. I imagine most maintenance tasks she knows how to do, but will probably still call him in to help when she's got a big workload. Though on the flip side, Peony can get pushy if she sees that someone needs help with something, so that may potentially be a point of contention.

I'm never completely sure until I see characters interacting whether it makes sense to pair them off. But I'm definitely curious about potential dynamics regardless.

I definitely have ideas on how our characters might (or might not) get along, but you've got so many ha ha.

Based on initial impressions, I think some of your folks might find Peony either helpful or overbearing depending on their personality. Peony isn't easily dissuaded by people finding her annoying so it takes a lot to get her to dislike anyone. I think she'd be pretty inclined to find all of your characters charming and would be trying to support them however she can. I see that being more reciprocal in some cases than others ha ha. Out of all of them, she's most likely to get along with Chisou - she tends to prefer blunt people in general - but I can see her making an effort to be friendly to all of them.

I think Satoshi would likely give most of your characters space about their personal lives, but one of the first thoughts I had reading through was that he'd want to refer most (if not all) to a therapist. There's a lot of trauma going on. Still, he doesn't like to talk about himself and do in turn he would be unlikely to pry into their lives more than is professionally required. Overall he'd probably be fairly easy for any of them to just talk to normally. Whether than means they'd get along or not I'm not really sure. Of all of them, I think that he's most likely to get along with Zhao. Satoshi likes sweets more than he cares to admit. Though he'll also likely to try to enlist the help of Chisou and Ryusei to acquire the medical herbs he needs for some of his more experimental ventures.
