Fantasy School of Elemental Arts

Kaylin looked over with her peripheral vision at Alex and she looked back ahead at the fight between Marcus and Cam before sighing. "Yeah, he hit you pretty hard and I got you back but clearly at a price." She narrowed her eyes and gasped before concentrating again, it was like there was another presence besides Cam's. "Does anyone else feel another presence or did the lightning fry my senses also?"

"I'm sorry but I hope its your senses because its no way im getting back up. You're still paralyzed and im pretty sure Max has a concussion, not to mention our savior is over their dueling it out with his brother. If there's someone else and they are bad we are screwed."

After a while of battling, Cam's energy vanished as Marcus appeared beside the three "Are you three alright? He retreated for now...But he'll be back...." He sighed "It won't be for a while...But there's no way he'd give up this easily..."

"yeah I'm fine. No thanks to miss dark and angry. I can already tell you are a real team player" Alex said getting up and stumbling into Kaylin. "Sorry, I can't really walk straight" he said trying to get up again.

Victoria shrugged. "Yea. I deserved that." She said with a chuckle, standing up. As soon as Marcus said that they needed to speak she knew exactly how much trouble she was in. She knew she was dead in the first place but this felt worse somehow to what she thought it would be. She felt her stomach tighten up with anxiety and followed Marcus to his office.

"Can someone help the poor paralyzed girl, I can't really move that much and everyone left." Kaylin sighed and she looked around with her eyes, hoping that someone would help her at least get to her bed so that she could recover while she slept. "Well, this is fun I guess."

Once inside the office, he sat down on his desk chair "Do you wanna compose yourself in a team or do you want to wind up dead? Because even though you acted boldly today which I respect, you also left the two other members of your team open for enemy attack. You're lucky it was a man who didn't want you dead...Monsters don't share my brother's pickiness" He sighed "I don't mean to come down on you...But you need to know that if you continue to act alone you will end up hurt or worse...I don't want that for you...."

"Well considering the fact that I'm in this position thanks to trying to save you I was hoping you weren't going to leave me behind." She laughed a little before looking up at the ceiling. "Hey, do you know a place called Calimarie?"

"Look. I'm not going to answer the first question, because you won't like the answer, and second, what was I supposed to do? One was unconscious and one was paralyzed. The only way I know how to protect people is to distract them. If you hadn't noticed, he stopped focusing on them when I started attacking him. If I had just sat with the rest of them like a damsel in distress we would have been sitting ducks! I didn't know who that guy was and I didn't know what the hell he was trying to do. But what I did know is that when you hit someone they generally hit you back, not the people around you. It would have been a whole different story if I could generate a shield like you guys can, that would have been the time to stay with them, but I can't and im sorry. So I did my best and I put my ass on the line because the only thing I knew was that I didn't want anymore people dead because I made another shit decision!" She yelled, slamming her hands down on the desk and looking at him furiously. He had no idea how many times she thought about hightailing her ass out of there and really leaving them behind. If she was good at one thing, it was running.

"You should have just let that monster kill me in the arena."

Marcus stood up slowly "I find it funny you say that...Because if I were to let you die.....Then this world would be worse off" He sighed and shook off his serious look "Listen...I understand your emotions...You want to help....I was the same way when I was younger...But sometimes in life you have to think. I know you didn't think I'd show up. That it would be the end for all of you...I understand it. But you need to have faith..." He placed his hand on her shoulder and looked in her eyes "Have faith in me....I will not let you die..." He shook his head "I hate being this way...But...Please....Have faith in us.....Have faith in me." He said before kissing her on the cheek "You won't regret it."

Her flare of anger started to die down. What was she doing? Why did she say that? Because its true. True to fact or to yourself? Does it matter?

"How can I have faith in someone else when I can't even have faith in myself?"  She asked shakily. These past few days were pushing her harder than she ever cared to be pushed. She just wanted it all to stop. "I don't like to depend on anyone but myself because I know that in the end im the only one who's is going to be there for me to depend on. Not Max, not that water girl, and not you. You're all going to leave one day and then i'd just have myself. History always repeats itself. I shouldn't get my hopes up for something I know is going to fail in the end."

She scoffed when he kissed her cheek. This battle had been a cold splash of reality, she wasn't walking around drunk on other peoples affection anymore. She was herself again. Cold.

"You aren't the first to say that, and you won't be the last. I've heard that line a million times before and in the end I always regret it."

Marcus began to walk to his door. As it opened he looked back at her "Then change it. You may join me if you wish. Until then." He said before closing the door leaving her in the cold, dark room.

After he left, Victoria sat down on the floor in the dark room and closed her eyes. One side of her was telling her that she couldn't keep doing this. That this was something she didn't know so she couldn't go about it like she does everything else. But, the other side of her didn't care. She just met these people yesterday, and even though she wasn't all that good at magic and stuff she was good at people. She knew that eventually their true intentions would show just like they always did so there was no reason to get attached. If she really wanted to help them she should just leave. Won't be putting anyone in danger and won't be somewhere she isn't needed, or wanted for that matter.

She felt a pulse ebb through her head as she was painfully reminded of the knock upside the head she received. She curled up in a ball and closed her eyes, dismissing the thoughts buzzing around in her head and just trying to relax. She didn't care about the nightmares at this point. She was so tired she would probably just sleep through them, so she sighed and drifted off to sleep, the white noise of the shadows and the ever lingering scent of Marcus keeping her company.

Marcus stood outside the door as the shadow energy began to spill from him, spreading on the floor "Man...Her power is gonna take control at this rate.......And I'm gonna go with it if she doesn't deal with it......" He said before walking off and vanishing in the spread of shadows

((I can't find the OOC thread so I was wondering if this is a time-skip moment or do you want to wait for Max and Kaylin to get back on))

Victoria had a numb, dreamless sleep, exactly what she wished for. She awoke to the suns rays falling directly where her eyes were, beckoning her to wake up.

"Mmfh. Where am I?" She asked out loud, sitting up and scooting over to a darker corner of the classroom. She looked around to see what looked like an office, just some pens, paper a deck and a smell... Suddenly it all came flooding back to her and she flinched thinking of the series of events. "Great. Now what?' She grumbled to herself, standing up. In all honesty she was just glad she did feel like she was going to black out from exhaustion anymore. She looked at the door and walked over, leaving the room and trying to remember exactly how to get back to her room so she could really focus on what the next step was.

The halls were filled with shadow energy. Every bit of it was calling to her...Trying to take her back to the shadows

(there is a character sheet, fill that out and we will look it over. Sorry it's been a busy school day)

"I can't really say I have heard of it" Alex said trying to search his memories. "What about it" he asked out of curiosity

@CrystalYoshi

(Okay, I'm home and timeskip)

Kaylin stirred that morning and slowly sat up, thankful for the fact that her temporary paralysis finally healed. She stretched a little since her muscles were sore and she looked around her room and stared at her lap. Calimarie, it's been a long time since I've talked about my home with anyone but I couldn't tell Alex the truth about what happened to the flourishing village. Watching your friends and family being slaughtered and tortured is something that a twelve year old should never witness, not even the worst people in the world. Kaylin sighed and she left her room before breathing in the air, her eyes blinking away at the sun before she started walking.

((Back from school. I don't get out until 4:30 sorry))

Victoria walked down the halls cautiously. Something felt wrong. The walls and floor were bathed in black even though she remembered the feeling of sun on her face not even five minutes ago.

She tried touching the wall it it sent some sort of shock up her arm. She yelped in surprise and furrowed her eyebrows in concern. "What the hell is going on?"
