RWBY: Old Rites (In Character)

Zion Waters

Zion had just finished slaying four Ursa but it seemed another two were charging towards him. It wasn't like they were hard to kill, but he was certain that he told his Beings to kill all the Grimm near him. As another Ursa leaped towards him, he was prepared to stick his spear through its jaw but it never reached him. A large war hammer smacked it aside and Zoro was behind it, smashing it's skull in before it could react. The second Ursa reacted almost immediately, but it was beheaded by Azir with a single strike. He landed with one knee on the ground, and his sword back in it's sheath. Azir was always one for flashy appearances, but Zion was never going to tell him that. Zion frowned as the corpses of the monsters laid before him. "That was too close. Before you arrived, I encountered four more. Work on your speed please." They nodded and simultaneously leaped backwards, dissolving into thin air. Zion tapped into Kija's eyes to view his progress on the relics' location. He was flying in a circle, high enough so no one else would notice him. He was about to speak to him telepathically but he saw Kija dive down and strike knives into a small pack of Ursa that were coming from the east. He tapped out and ran towards the direction he last saw Yona.

Yonafound his target, the man named Grau but was still not sure why his master would want someone like him. As he ran closer to him, his features were more apparent and in a way he reminded Yona of Zion himself. Grau hadn't seen him yet, so he curved to his left and leaped on the man and leaned his face closer to his to examine him with curiosity.

Cobra

Cobra raised his eyebrow with interest as she rejected his coat. He shrugged and slipped it back on. He still didn't understand what she meant when she said she was 'protected by her bones' but at the same time he didn't really care. He just wanted to get his relic and find his cousin. Leo started taking to the skies with Seraphina on her back and Cobra grinned. He slammed his fist  into the ground, his right arm becoming covered with scales. His agility increased and he was able to jump onto his snake and return his arm back to normal before Seraphina could see it. Leo the snake, made a complete U-Turn and flew at a very quick pace towards the ruins where the relics where being held which was coming nicely into view. As she spoke Cobra closed his eyes and her voice seemed almost soothing. He stalled his question about the deer to think about her. She seemed quite odd, but she didn't seem to realize it either. Was she raised in a basement or something? She hasn't seen a deer? He wanted to make sure the girl wasn't playing with him so he chuckled. "Yeah, I've seen a deer. They're stupid animals though... and very easy to kill."

@hudhouse

Seraphina recoiled a bit at his words. Very easy to kill?! She spoke in soft disgust, "So I was always a weak, stupid thing in Father's eyes?" Her eyes began to tear up at this revelation. After all of these years, the way it was described to her just had to be this way. She looked down to the droplets of water that came down from her face. It's been so long since she had been sad enough to cry, but this would be one of those moments. Her rainbow-colored eyes dulled down in vibrancy until she saw the horrific sight before her. Knights came out of every nook and cranny of the forest. She suddenly leaped straight off of Cobra's Snake into another battle all together...

Varien nodded, resting his hand on the grip of The First Curse. "Yes, that would be benefic-" He stopped mid-sentance, being cut off by the sounds of conflict and the warning of danger from one of the students. Turning towards the source of the noise, he saw a large multitude of knights fading into existence, their weapons dulled and armor worn. "Adrian! To arms!" He shouted before drawing both hand guns. He stood for a moment before pulling the triggers. Fifteen bullets had been fired before he flipped the cylinders open and emptied the bullet casings which were speedily replaced by loaded ones. He counted ten of the knights as they fell, but they were advancing fast. A knight appeared next to him before bringing its blade in an overhead swing down onto Varien.  He dropped the guns and focused his flames in his hands. His palms shot out, one forcing the blade back in a burst of fire, the other impacting its chest, sending it sprawling with scorched armor. The knight was up before he knew it, and he was vulnerable as he crouched down to pick up his guns.

An explosion of a massive weight crashing in front of Varien echoed out, Seraphina topless and covered in bloody crystal now standing there! Her crystalized forearms protected him from the blade of any knight that dared come close, but also to weak to actually do the fighting herself. She starred at Varien with an inhuman fear in her eyes, scarred for everyone in the situation due to their humanoid appearance. But... the knights attacked her first. And all of these strange people of her own school had one thing they didn't... the smallest bit of familiarity. She would try to protect her new friend in a silent panic. Seraphina looked up to Cobra, making sure she didn't make the horrific mistake of overestimating him and his snake.

Kaden rubbed the last bits of dried blood from his face at last using his palm as he walked. Now he could open his right again without worry. The problem now was the dreid blood that caked a small patch of his hair. Without any water it was difficult to get out. Not only was this annoying but gross as well. He'd just have to deal with it for now.

To ass to his annoyance, he hasn't ran into anymore grimm since the last pack. He was starting to grow bored. Swinging the metal black sheathe that held his sword up to rest on his shoulder, he wondered if any of the students had finished already. He also wondered if any of them were worth challenging. Maybe. Maybe not.

As he walked, Kaden let his mind travel from on one topic to another. Some time had passed before he started to hear a variety of noises. He was to far to make them out but as he headed towards it, he became certain they were sounds of conflict. A battle was taking place and like any other warrior, Kaden headed straight for it. He was curious as to who and/or what would be fighting.

Soon enough, he found his way out of the mass of trees and came to a clearing.  He saw ruins, students fighting people wearing dull looking armor. No they weren't people. Kaden could tell from the feel of them. As he looked closer, he saw that there were spaces between certain parts of the armor. Kaden wondered what these things could be for a split second before deciding he didn't really care at the moment. Right now he just wanted some action.

Kaden switch his sheathe to his left hand and charges onto the battle field. He chuckled to himself as he drew close. He hoped this would be fun. He still wasn't able to use his semblance but if these guys were like the Grimm he faced before then he wouldn't need it.

Clutching the hilt of his blade, Kaden joined the other students on the battlefield. He drew is blade in a quick arc. His black and orange sword cut clean through the helmet. He swiftly spun ducking as he did so and dodging an incoming spear. As he rose he flipped his blade, holding it in a pick Axe grip and cut down his attacker. He moved quick. He was upon his next victims in less than a second. Twp armored enimes fell to the floor with a thud.

Suddenly the hairs on the back of his neck stood on end and his instincts tool over. He ducked and felt wind pass over his head. Reacting without thinking, Kaden twisted his body. Throwing his and on the ground he cartwheeled, swinging his leg up hard and connecting with something heavy. Where at first there was nothing, was now am amored opponent laying on the ground. Invisible? Kaden pounced on him and stabbed his sword right through his head.

Looking around he noticed what seemed to be moving frost. So the enemies were invisible but someone was clever enough to come up with something.

Sweet. He thought to himself. This would make things so much easier. He continued to fight. Dodging, parrying, cutting stabbing. He occasionally used his aura to speed up and his sheathe to parry or strike. This was too easy. Still Kaden enjoyed himself. The seer number of enemies was enough to make him happy. How could he get bored of the endless murder fest taking place.

After the shock of what was happening wore off Pewter was able to recollect his thoughts and start working on a plan. With his arm brace loosened Pewter was having no trouble identifying where his armored assailants were, their armor not only attracted the electricity in his body like a compass but also made the perfect conductive surface to fry anyone he touched (isn't armor supposed to protect you not make the attack worse?). Though he wasn't killing them only putting them in a coma for now, he didn't like the idea of killing other humans but as long as he didn't loosen his brace any more it shouldn't be lethal, its his job to kill grimm not humans, though if things got worse he might have to throw that ideal aside for now. He arrived at his partners side just in time to see her dispatch of one of the knights before telling him to stand back while she sent a sonic force wave knocking down several knights which he then proceeded to help take care of.

"Good to see you have your own way of finding them. Was starting to think I would need to tell you where to shoot." Pewter said electrocuting the last of the group Lyrika had knocked over. "Who knew invisibility would have so many counters" Swinging his sword behind him he connected with another invisible soldier he felt coming up behind him but the knight managed to smack him across the face with the hilt of his sword before losing consciousness, leaving a nice cut on his left cheek.

Varien, seeing the topless, antlered girl crash before him, jumped backwards in shock. When the knights advanced on her, he stepped in the way, slapping the knights blade aside with the barrel of The First Curse. Raising the last word to the knights head, he let loose three of the nine bullets in the gun into the knights head. He didn't quite know the girl, but he would not let anyone he could save, die. Another knight came and fell before his burning bullets. He could feel it coming now, the burning aura from within. Quickly holstering The Last Word, he gathered his flames in his hand. When he threw the flame, he watched as the ball latched onto a knight before exploding violently and scattering its armor. "Quick, these damned things are relentless. Prepare yourself, girl." He advised her, redrawing The Last Word.

It had been a bit of a trek before Alani and Grey managed to get to the ruins with a few of their fellow students already having arrived and some arriving shortly after. The trek to the ruins had been so uneventful the faunus outright recalled Fenris and Lupa not seeing the point of expending the little energy required. Placing her hands behind her head Alani gave a soft groan into the air, obviously a bit annoyed. "Eeeesh, was kinda hoping to get a bit more fighting in. Hell of a rush fighting  for real rather than simple sparring and training." She remarked, kicking the ground a bit before approaching one of the many pedestals that lined the outer area of the ruins and picking up one of the items. "They're...animal carvings?" She asked, perplexed as she looked at the small stone carving of a wolf before glancing at the other various species that sat peacefully on their pedestals. "Honestly expected something a little more...I dunno...'relicy'?" She quipped, tossing the wooden carving in her left hand before pocketing it. "Well mission accomplished! Now to just retur-..." Alani's words died down as she witnessed the increasingly abnormal display of weather with the increasing chill to the wind, the wind itself picking up along with that ever increasing sound of rhythmic metallic clanking. "Okay I'm pretty sure I didn't get hit on the head, but I'm not the only one who's seeing and hearing this right?" She called out to the others, scratching her head before gasping softly at the strange figure that seemed to materialize out of...leaves? 'Oookay, so that's a thing now, is this some sort of inclusion to the test?' Alani pondered to herself, watching as more figures materialized with armor reminiscent of the queen's escort but with considerably less maintenance, or none for that matter seeing the outright state of decay of the armored figures before the students. She was wary of drawing her weapons, not wanting to incite retaliation if these individuals were also part of the queen's guard, but something felt off about the whole situation.

It wasn't until the crack of a gunshot rang out that Alani's heart jumped, the blades to her gauntlets extending with a resounding ring of metal as she watched one of the entities collapse to the ground. 'Crap, hope we didn't just incite a political incident.' Alani swore mentally to herself as her body tensed, the knight that was hit just came out of nowhere! The information quickly clicked: there were more of these guys around them, invisible, and possibly surrounding the group to ambush them as their compatriots drew the students' attention. Hardly a few seconds till that first gunshot and all chaos broke out, a few students taking action and calling out to their partners and friends while retaliating as well. About to jump into the fray, the sound of metallic footsteps behind Alani caused her to quickly turn, eyes going wide as a blade came into view being thrust at her. Pivoting on the spot the faunus just barely missed the thrust sword as it glanced off her protective aura. "Gah you metal bastard, I'm gonna make you mincemeat for that!" Alani growled out out as she brought her right gauntlet in a diagonal downward motion rending the metallic metal of the necrotic knight that had just tried to attack her with the screech of metal on metal, the figure collapsing to the ground from her attack. "There's more of them that are invisible, keep an eye and ear out on your surroundings the big group is likely a distraction!" Alani shouted to the others as her looked around behind her and to the ground, watching for any leaves or grass that seemed to be compressed or shifting out of place. "Hey Grey, think these guys like metal?" Alani called to her partner as she moved to stand near his back and protect his blinds pot while he did likewise. "You provide the music and I'll provide the pyrotechnics?" She inquired with a sly grin as the claws to her gauntlets retracted before she quickly turned the small valves to the dust reservoirs on her gauntlets sending the volatile dust fuel to the now open vents. Quickly after the blades to her gauntlets retracted the rectangular metallic openings left from their absence ignited with small fiery bursts. "Let's show 'em why we're gonna make the best class group in Beacon everyone!" The faunus called out in a rallying cry before clenching her fists to activate her chemical throwers, letting loose a torrent of searing fire in a wide swath before her while being mindful to keep the flames away from her allies. The thick flames pouring from the vents in her gauntlets bellowed in a blazing roar as she aimed for visible footprints within the nearby grass and leaves, surely enough leaving blazing silhouettes for Grey and the others to attack should they wish.

@Vultz

"Yeah, it's kinda disappointing, but I think we'll get it soon enough. I've heard the real challenge begins after the teams get their totems or whatever we're supposed to collect." he said, walking along side her whilst also checking the guitar neck to see if it might be warped for some reason. He raised an eyebrow as he looked at the carvings on the pedestals and walked over to the wolf one Alani picked up. "I honestly expected something like old-world stone tablets or something." He shrugged, but suddenly grew aware as he noticed the abnormal shift in the atmosphere. He immediately put his guitar into weapon mode and activated his semblance, using echolocation to try and identify the direction of the threat. "Definitely not just you, there's something out there...a lot of them, actually." His eyes narrowed as he looked towards where the unseen threat was. "Remember when you said you wanted to get more fighting in? I think you may have got your wish." he said with a smirk. However, it faded with the formation of the strange warrior. "I can't say for sure if this is part of the test or not, but there's definitely something off about them...I don't like it." It didn't make sense to him. If this was the queen's guard or something similar, what business would they have here with the trial of new students? They could just be there to observe, but if so why make themselves noticeable like this?

Already being on edge, he flinched slightly when he heard the lone gunshot ring out, and one of the once invisible threats fell to the ground. Not long after that, Alani was nearly stabbed by one of them, however she caught it and took them down. "Everyone group up and cover each others' backs!" he called out as he covered alani's. Just then, one of the invisible warriors had charged at him. Thanks to his echolocation, he blocked the blade and decapitated the warrior before watching the grass compress where its body lay. " I reckon they will in a second, and that sounds like a plan." he said, smiling. He activated the dust pickups with the element of earth and aimed at the threats before playing an oddly fitting song for this battle. The earth-based dust allowed him to create chunks of rock and mud and make them fly at the enemy in order to make them better visible for his fellow classmates.

Everyone seemed to heed Ryuu's advice as the tides seemed to have stalemated against the rocks that were Joshua's classmates. Seeing this new development, Joshua felt safe in knowing that while everyone was working together, it was now that he could advance and tackle the main leader to end this once and for all. "Ryuu!" Joshua yelled, "I'm going for the leader!" Joshua then barreled through the enemies with an abnormally large shield as he made his way to the leader. The commander stood there with his sword sheathed and confident that Joshua couldn't do anything with the huge shield. However, once he shrank the shield, the commander drew steel and Joshua readied his hammer as the two began to fight.

        “Acknowledged. Please stay safe.” Ryuuko focused on getting Kinu back, making her way towards the knight’s corpse. She had no time to reload with the hordes of enemies before her, so she slashed and cut to make her path. Retrieving the weapon wasn’t as easy as she had hoped. Pouring in from all sides were knights. The fan’s blade was deep in the head, with her attempts to teeter it out being time-consuming. It was just in time that Ryuuko turned to fire a shot at yet another enemy. With her other hand, she continued to remove her weapon.

Finally.

Running back, Ryuuko spun and knocked down a few foes. Taking down the leader would be difficult but she figured that a sharp mind could beat a sharp weapon. What sort of tactics would work? Some strategies appeared in her mind as she glanced back at Joshua. Hopefully the leader wasn’t too much of a challenge for him and-
           A couple of thumps and screams came nearby her. With wide-eyes, Ryuuko stiffened at the sight of fallen Beacon students.

             Ryuuko had to stay calm, regardless of what happened. With the reminder of death being a risk, however, she couldn’t be. But she could look calm. She took a deep breath as she approached the leader and her hands shook as she clenched her weapons. “At first, I was going to say it would not be fair for me to join this fight, for that would be two versus one, though…” A small smile appeared and only was there to keep the image of a cool-headed girl. Ice shards slowly started gathering near her. As if having a normal conversation, Ryuuko spoke and fought at the same time. “…I would say that your army is bit unfair to us, is it not?”

Argent Chatterton

(Pre-Timeskip)

".... Oh come on! How many of you are there?!" Argent complained as the temple loomed into view. He sighed and started thinking about a few things. First, his partner's annoying Semblance. Secondly, at least 2 more nicknames just in case. Lastly, what sort of relic do they have up ahead.

"Okay... For starters, its nice to meet you Renny. I'm slowly running out of nicknames so I hope you are the last one..." Argent sighed. Welp... At least this day can't get any more strange...

(Post-Timeskip)

"Me and my big mouth...." Argent sighed as he slashed at a knight's joint armor, locking the leg into place before leaping back out of reach of the knight's weapons.

"Pity I don't have a gun... Oh wait!" Argent chuckled before pulling out the pistol magazine he swiped and chuckling it at the knight.

"Catch it and shake." Argent commanded. Watching with glee as the knight caught the magazine and, true enough, it exploded.

"Better then a grenade. Heheheheheh."

@Happy Red Mage

(Adrian post will be done later. Kinda busy at the moment.)

Jasmine spoke to Cup without turning in his direction - given the blindfold she was wearing, it probably wasn't hard to tell why. "Nice landing." She quipped. There was a brief offer of a hand to help Cup back to his feet and dust him off, but after the token effort she went right back to wandering through the woods. "I'm Jasmine." She introduced herself, "It looks like we're on a team - but just in case we end up hating eachother, we haven't technically made eye contact yet." There was a short smirk on her behalf, but it didn't last long as a shot rang out and she ran into the clearing with the others.

She was just in time to witness Koamaru's shouts of distress. Drawing her weapons, she immediately began opening fire on two of the strange ashen knights attempting to run the boy through, "Of course they're not friendly! Why else would they be trying to stab you in the back?" Of course, with her blindness, Jasmine actually had no idea the knights were invisible - to her, the entire world was invisible. It also meant that their little cloaking trick was completely useless against her, and she began opening fire on them one by one. Jasmine motioned to Cup, "Waiting for an invitation? Let's see what you can do."

The sun singer definitely knew what he was doing, which made her begin to feel guilty about Cobra. She shook her head, she had to focus on this instead! The things were not Human, they merely pretended to be! They are shadows, Grimm, nightmares of children who come to get some grasp on this world. It was a mercy to put them down. With a constant reassurance in her head, she flew herself in brutal combat. She leaped forward and put all of her weight into a downwards strike into a knight's chest, caving it straight in. The fatal damage made the thing fall to the floor. Seraphina screamed in horror, not seeing it melt away like a Grimm or any other nightmarish beast. Did she kill a person... a real person? Is she a murderer? Her mind just began racing a million miles a minute as the horrific sound of sword against crystal echoed out.

Two knights stood behind her, both of their swords plunged deep into Seraphina's back. She simply got up and leaped backward, jerking the knights off of her! She claimed the dual swords as her own, using her strength to begin slashing into them. She had no grace and no style as she did, only an underlying river of "KILL". She was left to her basic instinct in her mental horror, which activated her Semblence's other ability. All of her crystal horns began glowing and shooting out tiny laser pointers randomly about. The lasers began to lock onto their invisible targets, giving a colored laser straight to their torso. If she knew what she was doing, she would pray the gunner could see the lasers. Otherwise, the harmless beams would just make her an easier target.

Pre TS

Renny cheered at the sound of her new nickname.

Post TS

Renny boo'd at the sudden appearance of these dirty knights and frowned. She was more suited for battles that didn't involve large groups, and the sheer numbers would overrun her. "Hey gun me! You're gonna have to get up now we're in trouble!" She said aloud. Rendure, who had been sleeping on his seat, woke up and yawned. "L'right, what's goin-what in gun hell are those?!" He said as he looked at the screen the mindscape had for viewing the outside world. "Right, not important. Heading out!" He announced before disappearing and in turn making Renny appear in the mindscape.

The bright flash of light occurred and Rendure stood there in all his gun bound glory. "Hey buddy? Miss me?" He called out to Argent before he drew out destroyer with one hand and used the other on Butcher. "Stand clear of the shooting range!" He yelled loudly before he started firing. Fire Dust Grenades flew out and Butcher thundered to life. Ordinance flew into their ranks, exploding in brilliant blazes of flame and lots of bullets. He was careful not to accidentally shoot his fellow schoolmates. He saw one knight heading for Argent and stopped firing Butcher and Destroyer. He replaced them with Cyclone and shot the knight in the head twice. "Watch it." He said simply. "Alright, I'm up for a bit of team play here. Swordy, Tag Team Tactics!"

Durry materialized behind him. "I'm...here..." She said. Rendure tossed a Lightning Dust vial at Durry and she caught it and scattered it all over her green glowing sword, making it yellow. "To...Battle..." She said before she charged at the closest knight, and with a swing, felled it with a lightning blade strike. "And that's part two of my Semblance."

@Wandering Hollow

"Oh well. Knights everywhere. A good way to start a huntsmwn training academy."

Muttered Cup as he changed the magazines into ones with red circles drawn on them. He changed them to blades, and started swinging them around. He hit something in the air, and pulled the trigger with a nasty grin. Fire erupted out of the barrel, setting the invisible knight on fire, and probably killing it. Just to be sure, Cup kicked the knight down and stabbed it in the head.

"Tech for the win."

He said as he continued to swing blindly. But wait, what if he focused on his semblance? He stopped, and focused. The students around him highlighted, and he could see the figures of the knight-thingies.

"I got you in my sights."

He muttered as he aimed at them. Flames erupted from his gunblades and he took down a knight or two with every few shots. He loaded normal rounds into the gunblades.

"Strategy number one, cook and skew them, strategy number two, shoot and slice them."

Cup answered to Jasmine.

"Cuprum Buckshot by the way. Cup for short."

He added as he stabbed a knight and finished it with a gunfire.

Chaos...That was the word used to describe how Neil's day was going.

Neil was actually asleep while waiting. Igna didn't exactly say anything and he figured that a couple minutes of shut-eye wouldn't hurt anybody. He knew Ozpin and the Queen were probably watching, but in all honesty, he didn't really care. And so, laying in the grass he snored away, dreaming of Pink Everything Everywhere! It was great...all until he woke up to Igna calling his name while laughing. Waking up, he slowly stood, stumbling a bit and rubbing his eyes. "What? ...What are we laughing at?" He yawned, ready to laugh as well just for the heck of it....until he saw the whole army of knights surrounding them. Blinking, he looked around, wondering what the heck was happening. Was...Was this a dream. Suddenly, Neil felt something wrap around his throat, causing him choke as he was thrown and held to the ground. What the-? His eyes widened when something materialized in front of him, turning out to be...a knight?! What were these things doing?! Shouldn't they be guarding their queen or whatever and not strangling handsome pink fifteen year olds?!  Struggling, he started to panic a bit when the knight slowly raised his sword, yet he realized one thing. His hands quickly shot into his pocket and pulled out Sheila. He pointed it up at its head...

Don't bring a knife to a gun fight!

BANG!

A fire dust round quickly found its way through the knight's skull, causing it to slowly loosen its grip and fall back. Before he could process the fact he killed a man, the knight had....turned into dust? Getting up, he shook his head and whirled around, about to ask a question...only to realize everyone was fighting for their lives right now. Neil sighed and shot another fire dust round at one's head, successfully offing another one. The one beside it, seeing this, soon charged at Neil. Neil quickly raised his gun, but the knight appeared to be faster, slapping his Sheila away into the crowd. "Uh-O-OOF!" Neil cried as he was kicked away, small body flying before landing roughly on the ground. This...wasn't good. Getting up, he realized he was now completely unarmed...great. The knight rushed at him, sword in hands, ready to kill him. Think, Neil, Think! Before he knew it, a quick flash of Pink went off before. When it cleared, two figures that looked exactly like Neil ran and tackled the knight to the ground. One a more salmon color than Neil himself, and one a more hot pink.

"I'm soooo sorry about this!" Neil #3 cried out.

"THREE! DON'T APOLIGIZE TO THIS ASSHOLE!" Neil #2 shouted. He turned to Neil, grunting as the knight tried to get up. "Well?! What are ya waiting for, ya lazy piece of-"

"Yeah, Yeah, Yeah!" Neil cried and stepped back a few feet. With a smile, he quickly ran forward and jumped. "GOOD KNIGHT, JERK!" And with that, he landed on the Knight's head, causing the thing to let out one last scream of pain before turning into dust. Panting heavily, he turned to Two and Three. "Thanks, guys."

"I-I'm gl-glad I could help." Three said shyly, smiling a little at Neil while twiddling his thumbs.

"Whatever. Try not to die." Two said, rolling his eyes and crossing his arms. They both disappeared in a flash of Pink, yet Neil stumbled a bit. Man. His Aura was drained quite a bit. Shaking his head, he quickly looked around and spotted Ignacia. Running to her, he stopped and tried to sidestep a swipe from a Knight's sword, only to yelp as his cheek had a big bleeding cut. Luckily, the Knight didn't see him, which helped him make his way to Igna. "Yo, Igna!" Neil yelled out. He didn't have a weapon...but he DID have a partner. He grinned at her. "I lost my weapon...mind lighting the place up for me?"

Joshua was at a current stalemate in fighting the leader due to the fact that he hadn't seen Mocha originally on the ground when he had challenged him. Now, he was trying to make sure that she wasn't in serious danger. Unfortunately, this meant that he had to focus more on defense and less on offense, however, he was using this time to figure out how the leader fought, but he couldn't garner anything useful. Shouting while fighting, Joshua addressed Mocha, "You ok Mocha? Just stay behind my shield until you can get up. Joshua then shot a 00 round at the leader's chest region hoping that it would at least hurt him in some way.

Ignacia was on her back, holding her stomach in her fit of laughter. Something was off, not wrong, but... weird. Maybe the adrenaline popped a screw loose in her head or something. Every time she took a breath in, a flame combusted off her skin and vaporized the next instant. Her cackling in the likeness of a firecracker, cracking sparks around the area. During this time, Neil was fighting off the incoming knights, however, once he called for assitance her laughter stopped. All of a sudden she felt enraged again, her emotions were flaying wildly around in her mind. The only thing she wanted to do was burn them all.

Ignacia clapped her hands together, at the point of impact, a small flame burst forth, soon enveloping her arms. The flame continued towards her tails and legs, coating them in their aqua flames.

She was actually crazed, her brow furrowed, and her teeth grit together, exposing her sharp canines. Normally she'd say a phrase or insult the enemy before combating, but this time she was out for blood (even if they didn't have any blood).

Ignacia shoved Neil aside, throwing him back behind her. She made a mad dash at the knight pursuing him, and shot her fist right through his chest plate, crumpling the metal as her flames softened the metal. She looked at the collapsing knight as she clasped her palm into a fist trying to make him scream out or shout. Tch... disappointing. Completely pissed off at him, she erupted a fountain flames right into him, the fire spilling out of all the little holes and cracks in the armor. She ripped her arm out, swiftly raising it, and crushing the head -or what was left of it- in one quick motion.  Letting go of the helmet, the knight's body fell onto the ground and disintegrated into dust.

She looked back to Neil, still pissed off as hell, but gestured with her hand to follow her. "Come!" She shouted at him.

@SpicyWatterson-Kun

Neil's grin slowly evaporated, eyes shifting left and right as Igna suddenly stopped laughing. That was...good? Don't get him wrong, Neil enjoyed a nice laugh, even at the worst of situations, but he was kinda bleeding at the moment. He felt the blood slowly drip down his cheek and land in little frequent drops on his shoulder, but Ignacia suddenly erupted into flames. Well, that WAS what he was asking for...but she looked kinda...mad. Sweating at the heat radiating off her, he held up his hand. "Uh...You okay there-GAH!" Neil yelped as she literally shoved him behind her. He nearly fell, but that fact seemed to be negated by the other fact that his SLEEVE WAS ON FIRE! Eyes widening, he quickly looked around, trying to find some way to put out the flame. When it began to spread further, he groaned and flopped to the ground, rolling around. When he felt the hot feeling slowly dissipate, he stood up and looked at his arm, eye twitching as it was now just charred rags of a sleeve...awesome. Well, at least it was better than having a branch stuck in his stomach or something.

He quickly looked up to see Ignacia's gesture, causing him to nod. "Sure!" He quickly yelled, eyes widening at the corpse that quickly turned to dust. "Man, Igna...you're sure on fire today." Neil joked, rubbing his arm. He felt as if he just got some sort of sunburn. AND HIS CHEEK WAS STILL BLEEDING! "If ya find a gun with a pink handle on the ground, that's obviously mine. I  swear to god, if one of these dust rags touched it."

@Enkye

@Krim

"There?" Ignacia pointed towards a small patch of grass, Sheila was laying there, without anything obstructing them. Igna walked over while protecting Neil from any knights incoming. Suddenly one popped straight out of thin air in front of her. Using it's sword, the knight swung it around at her waist. However, it's actions were all but effective. Ignacia grabbed at the base of the blade, melting through the metal and grabbing it. The heat from her palm melted where she grabbed it forming a rudimentary handle. The knight was now only holding the hilt and handle of the sword, while Ignacia stole it's blade. She took a few steps back and checked to see if Neil was still there. After confirming it, she ran her hand along the middle of the sword. Heating it til it was glowing orange. She thrusted it into the stomach of knight, shoving it into the base and making it come out the other side. She let go of it, clocking the knight's throat with her right fist and grabbed the helmet with her left.

"You like barbecues?" Ignacia growled at it and blasted the face of the knight with her flames, the fire shot through the helm, blasting it's head off, leaving the face plate in the palm of her hand while the body turned to dust. "Well, you don't anymore..."

She ran over to the gun with Neil behind her, guarding him while he re-acquired his weapon.

Adrian Cuthbertson

"On the offensive!" Adrian cried out in reply to Varien's warning. She twirled Gungir around, shifting it to its rifle mode and crouched to a more stable firing position. The knights' armour was proving to be hard to penetrate with regular rounds but she found headshots and shooting the gaps to be sufficient.

"Aim there... What the-" Adrian gasped when an explosion appeared in front of Varien. As the Dust settled, the source turned out to none other then Seraphina. Adrian was about to call her when she was suddenly slashed from behind. Luckily her Aura levels was high enough to prevent any proper damage and she spun around and found her halberd slicing through thin air.

"There are more..!" Adrian gasped as she glanced around, she began noticing foot falls where there is nothing and quickly fired off a few rounds to probe the area and a couple of bullets pinged off a knight's chestplate.

"Found you..." Adrian muttered, fashing forward and aiming a slash at that area when a sharp pain erupted from her side. She felt her knees buckle as a knight materialized into existance. Her breathing got strained as she managed to bring her weapon to bear for a point blank shot. Once the knight is dispatched, she collapsed, the spear stuck in her side. It hurts... I can't get up... I'll handle this, rest now while I handle it. Besides, its been awhile.

Adrian's head hurt as Marie took over. Her Aura flared for a moment as she pulled the spear from her side. The wound healing itself as she slowly got up. Her breathing calm and her eyes focused.

"... How dull... I can't believe you let your guard down that easily..." Marie muttered as she prepared her weapon. A nearby knight attempted to stab her with his spear when Marie simply broke the spear with a swift slash of her halberd. A slightly malicious grin appeared on Marie's lips as she delivered a Semblance enhanced palm slamming into the knight's chestplate. It crumpled before launching the knight a good 10 meters away.

"Come on... This can't be all... Amuse me knights of yore... LET'S PLAY!!Marie cried, rushing at the line of knights with a sick grin and her weapon ready.

Koamaru kept firing until his weapon ran dry. There was no shortage of targets for him to choose from. Invisible knights were at every conceivable angle, and thanks to his semblance he had no trouble seeing them. Gaucho played his part by watching both their backs. Any time a knight came too close to putting a blade in Koamaru's back, Gaucho let out a loud series of barks. With a quick turn of the hips and a pull of the trigger, the problem was solved. Koamaru reached into his waistband and pulled another magazine for his weapon and continued his assault.

Students seemed to be fairing well against the surprise attack they had found themselves in. A few students had even gone to challenge the wall of shields and spears as well as their ashen-clothed leader.

Mocha had started the attack by removing a good number from a rank in the formation. She followed it up by making an attack of the ash-clothed man. Man didn't draw a sword or even react as most people would. Instead, he stepped to the side. His movements seemed to blur like a poorly animated feature in a movie/game, leaving frames of his form trailing behind him. Soon, two other students tried their hand. The result was the same. Any attack was met with thin air where the man once stood. He was fast, very fast.

One student decided to fire a shot from nearly point blank at the leaders midsection. As soon as the sound rang out, the man was gone and only a grey smoke hung in his place. "My time is wasted." A faint whisper hung over the entire field as the air grew cold again.  The grey smoke left behind filtered into the suits of armor that formerly formed a shield wall. Rather than the suits getting up, it seemed that their shadows rose from the ground is thick wisps instead. The armor of the knights still in formation fell to the ground and became wisps as well. The shadowing figures of knights and weapons now stood spread out rather than in a formation. Their outlines pulsed and waved before a strong wind blew from their back.

The shadowy outlines launched forward, losing their forms and becoming a mass of dark tendrils weaving through the air. The ruins impacted by the wisps seemed to age instantly where the wisps pierced through. The was no sign of an actual impact, as if the wisps had just passed through as noncorporeal entities. The only sign was the crumbling remains of the bricks and stone. Trees and grass shared a similar fate, turning brown and black as it seemed that their life was drained away.

Koamaru paused as he saw the shadowy figures take form at the end of the field. Whatever was at work here, it certainly wasn't from any plane of reality he was familiar with. The rest of the formation to the form and shadows on the wind and Koamaru braced himself for whatever was about to happen next.

Gaucho let out another series of concerned barks and Koamaru turned to respond. He landed a few shots on the knight at his back, but while turning caught sight of another at his side. In the corner of his eye, he could see an armored leg aimed towards Gaucho. In an instinctual response, Koamaru kicked his own leg forward. Unfortunately skin and bone against metal plate was an easy fight to lose. The attack had been stopped, but he felt his own bone fracturing from the impact. With his teeth gritted, he fired a shot into the knights helmet and stumbled back a few paces.

Suddenly, he stopped as if pinned in place. He tried to move his leg again but they refused to respond. In that moment he noticed a cold creeping sensation just under his right shoulder blade. The sensation spread through his entire chest and felt so cold it burned. His neck slumped down, feeling his energy drained away and saw the jagged edge of a place protruding from his chest. It looked like the main length of the blade had been broken off, but it had still pierced his chest nonetheless.

He had the misfortune of feeling a blade before. There were a few instances of him winding up on the wrong end of a shank. It didn't feel like this. It should have felt warm and kicked in some adrenaline. This was entirely different. Koamaru picked his head up slightly and saw the shadowy web all around, draining away the life of the area. Their impacts seemed random and not affecting most students. The shadows looked to be bouncing off the auras of students or avoiding then entirely.

But what was the blade from? It seemed to have been a curved type and he had only seen the knights use straight swords. His memories flashed back to that of the Abarat flag he saw at the assembly. He couldn't assume that they were 100% the same, but there had to be a connection.

The blade slowly pulled away and left a hollow feeling in his chest. Unpinned from whatever had locked his movement, Koamaru fell on his back. Looking up, he saw the rest of the sword. It had to be the same as the one depicted on the flag. It's wielder was none other than the ashen-clothed man who had finally made an attack. The man slowly faded into the wisps, but a low laugh that could only belong to him echoed over the field.

The wisps served to carry the sound as well as facilitate the ashen man. His blade flashed and left shallow, superficial cuts on several students. The speed was blinding and it seemed as if the figure was simply playing with them.

Gaucho ran to his partner immediately following his fall, placing both paws and as much weight as possible on the wound. The dog didn't have the opposable thumb to actual help him, but he had enough weight to apply pressure to the wound and help slow the bleeding.

When Joshua's shot simply caused the knight's midsection to vanish in smoke, he became worried and wary, this was nothing he had ever experienced before. Sure enough his suspicions about the leader not being human were all but confirmed at this point which meant everyone was in some serious trouble. The knight suddenly disappeared in a wisp of smoke cloaking himself within the wind from the sound and looks of it, but where did he go? Suddenly a laugh could be heard and he felt a cold blade flick across his flesh adding to the eery situation. Looking over quickly, he saw that a fellow student was down with his animal companion attempting to stop the bleeding, but could only do so much. ~This is bad, he needs help big time, but with Ryuuko here next to me, I can't just abandon her to help that student, what am I supposed to do here?~

               “…go on ahead. I can do well by my own,” Ryuuko said, putting on a brave smile to assure Joshua. In reality, she was scared. Her heart was beating so fast she thought it’d fall out of her chest and at the same time, Ryuuko felt herself getting tired. It started to get really cold. Why was it so hard to stand right now? Taking a glance at herself, red completely stained her pants. The color continued to spread down her leg. Adrenaline must have hidden the feeling of pain and she just noticed it now. At this rate, she’d lose consciousness.

                    She had to keep going. Lives were at risk.

              With the leader’s sudden attacks, however, Ryuuko could only stand. It started to hurt to try and move anymore. Darkness crept into her sight. “…Joshua…? Please…take care of that…student and...the others, all right? I am…” …not going to last very long, from the looks of this. All this blood coming out didn’t look like a minor cut. Did she cut the main artery without knowing it? If that was the case...Ryuuko took a deep breath...well, a death in battle was a fitting way for a Shirogane to go, wasn't it? Hopefully this injury wasn't that bad, but if really was that, she had about four minutes left.

Mocha stood behind Joshua, looking up from his shield, she saw that the man was not hurt in the slightest. He was fast enough to dodge her at top speed. Neither of her blades had even nicked him, this man was definitely above her abilities. Disappointed in herself she sheathed both swords. And dropped to her knees, it was a first for her, never had she failed so miserably at a task. The only thing she could do was accept her defeat. However, the knights started disappearing one by one. Turning into veils of black mist, covering the area around them. Suddenly she heard yipping from a student's dog, looking back to see that Koamaru was impaled with a sword, straight through the chest, "That's not good." She muttered, quickly shaking her head to clear her thoughts. "What am I saying? That's horrible.

Agnes had seen what the knights did to her partner, even is she had only met them the day before it was still, atrocious. Agnes built up a charge inside her fists. Breathing heavily through her respirator, she darted out of the treeline at the ashen man. Seeing how he had quickly dodge her peer's attacks, she decided to use her trump card. Using her semblance to increase the discharge rate of her nervous system, she heightened her senses, hoping to aim her fist right into the man's head as he dodged.

Agnes sprinted out into the open, where the man was standing. Leaping high into the air to land a falling punch on him. She raised her fist to land the hit, making calculated redirections to connect with her target. However, the instant her fist was inches away from impact, the man disappeared into a gray smoke, with trails of black mist shooting out from the knights around. One of the wisps connected with her right arm. Flinching from the touch, she rolled off the ground landing a couple feet from the other students. She groaned as she tried to get up from her failed ambush. She put her arm out to help herself up, however she soon fell down once again, unawares of what had happened. Wha-?  Down from her right elbow, her arm had rusted off and was now flakes of brown metal on the ground. Damnit. This wasn't good, though replacement is easy to obtain, if the army intends to continue to fight she's bound to be a liability. I need to check on Koamaru.

She lifted herself up with her left arm, running over to Koamaru to aid his wound. Didn't Joshua say he was a medic before? She looked back to him, holding up his warhammer appearing to be in a state of indecisiveness, she then saw that Ryuuko was hurt, Hmmm. Agnes decided that she had to help him instead. Using basic first aid knowledge, she opened her field pouch, revealing a roll of emergency gauze. "It's okay you're going to be alright.... I think.

Joshua turned to see Ryuuko speak to him, but then witnessed her loosing strength and the blood, all that blood she was loosing. "No no no!" Joshua wracked his brain for a way to save them both, there HAD to be a way, but it would put himself in a lot of danger to do so considering the leader's abilities. Suddenly, he saw Mocha administering emergency aid to the other student, that would buy him time while he figured out what to do. His mind then became clear as he thought to himself, "You're a knight, you're supposed to help others even in great danger" and with that Joshua went to work. He picked up Ryuuko in his arms and then laid her down on the ground all the while keeping his own shield active but in omnidirectional form. "I'm no knight in shinning armor right now, but I'm going to do what I can, bear with me here." He then began to examine the wound, this was bad alright an artery had been punctured and he didn't have the proper tools or an operating table to fix her; or did he? Opening his medicine bag, Joshua took out several items including gauze, anti bacterial wipes, and a small red bottle literally covered in red exclamation points sealed with a lock of some sort. He then went to work cleaning up the blood that was oozing from the wound as well as her leg so that he could get a better look at the damage done. It was as he feared, he would need to use the red bottle. Unlocking the red bottle, he positioned the nozzle so that it was directly over the wound before speaking to Ryuuko, "Ryuu, this is going to hurt like hell so bear with me here." With his resolve true, he sprayed the bottle over the wound watching the medicine do its' work. He thanked his lucky stars that his parents, both accomplished doctors, had persuaded him to take this bottle with him given the nature of huntsmen training. In truth it was a new medicine just perfected, but not yet available to the general public, as his parents had said the board still needed to figure out how to market the medicine. The medicine in question worked like a charm as it quickly stitched up the grevious wound and left a pink fleshy result where the wound had been. Finally, Joshua wrapped Ryuuko's leg in gauze before tying it off and remaining on guard in case anyone decided to attack.

@Danchou Tsubomi @Enkye @Hamilton

             Ryuuko said nothing, not even sure if she had enough energy to say even one word. Even when the bottle poured out and hurt just as much as Joshua said it would, Ryuuko’s "calm" expression stayed the same. Could she try to do something? Anything at all? Agh, just think already! There has to be something! Go on, use that brain and think! Glancing near the leader of the knights, Ryuuko noticed the pile of ice she had started making earlier.

           Exhausted but not giving up, she watched the ice begin to form the shape of a dragon. Just a little more. Please work… Slowly, the ice floated upwards, with its shape looking more and more like what she wanted. If Ryuuko couldn’t hold her weapons to fight, at least she had her dragon. It stood nearby Joshua, Mocha, Agnes, and Koamaru, acting as an extra shield. Though Ryuuko's eyelids felt heavy, Ryuuko had to stay awake. She had to protect the others, no matter what. There was no way that she would just do nothing. If she could save lives, she had to. It was her duty.
