I am going to be making another short time hop, probably a month or so in duration. This will set the scene for Dann's new character to be introduced, and Gabi to be gracefully retired.

Sooo, Dannigan, I'm just wondering, what do you plan on pulling into the mix! What can we expect?

You can expect a rather large departure from what I'm used to playing, heavy and fun, new and yet something kind of familiar to me. I mean all of that. I'm hoping to fill a niche I haven't quite yet filled before. Mind you, this idea is purely put into my skull thanks to Gary Gygax as I'm reading his 1980's book Role Playing Mastery. One of the things he mentions is to play different things, try different Classes and approaches. I must agree!

As with Gradicus in your Rifts game, I think I have learned just about everything Gabi has to teach me. While I'm very happy with her as a character, I also must be honest with myself in that I did not see our transition to the Invid Invasion coming at all. It caught me and Gabi by such surprise that I don't think she knew how to handle it. In the world of Green Berets (in Vietnam era at least per many of their first-hand accounts), when you're in a situation like Earth is with the Invid, you are in it for pure bloody payback. That's not the Gabi I want to play. Best I be true to her and myself and let her go, especially after all that she's taught me. =)

"Running water never grows stale," wrote Bruce Lee. So, if you don't mind the analogy, I'm convinced it's time I changed the river in which I get my water while still playing on the same shores as the rest of you. *splashes you with water* =)

I realize these statements don't answer your question, but consider - this is Psychie's game. If she likes the idea of your Characters discovering the answers the same time you do, I say, "Why not go with it?" I'm usually pretty upfront with these things (as I was with Snowfall), but I think you'll all agree that there is good reason to keep a concept like this quiet until Third Heavy Recon discovers it (which really, will happen soon enough at this pace I think).

So yeah! Keep it hush-hush! We don't want the Invid to find out, do we? =)

He's right. Your posts are getting better as you are clearly getting more comfortable in the role of being a Storyteller. Nicely done!

I keep forgetting that.

In your defense, you have been answering the typical 1,000 or so questions I have whenever I start up a new character, plus you've been running this game and changing it to add said character. Your brain has been busy! =)

And you have answered them not only promptly, but generously. I cannot create a quality character with a Game Master who simply cannot be asked to care beyond their own GM screen. That you care enough to answer helps me believe not only in your game, but in you. In my world, the little things in life matter to me. =)

Also, make sure you pick out what gear and weapons you have on you and post it either in the OCC or IC thread. For personal weapons, there is a fairly decent list that has been typed up and posted in the Lore tab in a spoiler.
Is there anything in that list that is off limits?

I was thinking of a LP-10H laser pistol and a Wolverine assault rifle, and three Cobalt limpet mines if that is fine.

Yes, you can have anything in that list. Make sure you also say how many ammunition clips you take with you, and with the Wolverine, tell me if you are packing any SDC rounds or if you only have MDC ones.

My preference is the IPP-5H Heavy Ion Pulse Pistol (Alan's perceived lucky gun), and the LAR-10 Assault Rifle.

Both are MDC weapons, but we've no idea what kind of body armor we may have to go up against. I can pick an SDC main arm, but Alan would fight to keep the pistol.

EDIT: Say 2 spare magazines per gun sound reasonable? If we need more it'd probably be in a case on one of the hover bikes.

That is fine with me. You have a variety of SDC pistols available to you in your bunker, both laser and hard bullet types. Which kind would you prefer?
