On an unrelated note, I wish Palladium completed that "Big Book of Ships" they were advertising in Robotech before they lost the license.

Blake, by himself, has 4 attacks per round. When using his drones, the drones get six. =)

The answer to your question is - yes.

ok so let me see if i got this. one melee is 15 seconds. meaning that if i were to use all four of my melees it would equal to one minute?
Incorrect. Without the extra two actions you get from the controller, you have four actions during each of the fifteen second melee round, so in one minute, you have sixteen actions.

i understand that they have six actions. each action is one melee. it says they can do six bursts per melee. i guess i'm just confused.

You're almost there! Each action is performed in a melee round. The drones have 6 attacks per melee round (15 seconds). =)

You are confusing a single action with a whole melee round. A round is fifteen seconds, and in each round, you get multiple actions. Starting out, you have four single actions in that fifteen second melee round.

When Blake is using his drones, he gets 6 actions/attacks per round (VR operator +2). When he isn't, Blake has 4 actions/attacks per melee round. =)

i thought that within each round you had a certain number of melee actions at your disposal.
Example:
hand to hand expert give me 4 melees.

Exactly. To clear up the confusion, just take away the word "melee."

Blake has 4 actions/attacks per round.

Yes. HtH Expert gives you four actions per melee round, and each round is fifteen seconds, letting you act four times in that period of time.

And whatever happens, don't feel dumb for asking this! I went through this too and I know I'm not the only one! Palladium's rule explanations are creative, but they've been confusing players for decades. This, I think, is one big reason they put out Rifts Ultimate Edition - just to clear things up. =)

Forget about the word melee and you've got it. Blake has 4 actions/attacks per round. With his drones, he has 6. Boom-done.

ok. so if i give two actions for each drone. then both drones will have four actions due to the etra two that they give me?

edit:
since they both give two extra action.

I was letting you operate both drones at once, forgetting that it will take you an action on each. With the controller, you have six actions, so if you operate both drones at once, each can have three attacks.

Well, here's where it gets tricky, but I think I understand it. Sherwood? Per Australia One, an operator can use 1-4 drones simultaneously. Each gets the VR operator +2 (unless the Game Master says otherwise, of course).

Sherwood? "The Virtual Realty (sic) interface allows a human operator to take control of 1-4 Stingers while he is nestled safely in a control tower within the city walls or in the field inside an armored vehicle." Also, "When 2-4 are controlled by a single VR operator, all four (sic) respond as one, each mimicking the action of the lead stinger (sic) and attack like a swarm of hornets." (Australia One, page 220). Lots of typos in that description, but Palladium books always needed better editors. =)

You normally have four. With the controller, you have six. You are using one action per drone to attack, using two actions at once. This has used four of your six actions, giving you two more to use. If you attack with both drones on your next action, that will be all of Blake's actions that round.

I missed that! Thank you, Dann. I'll fix the attacks used now.

My pleasure! =)

I have to admit; those little Stingers are pretty cool.

It is similar to what psychie had found in with her character and her Automatons.
