The problem with having a melee round be only 15 seconds, when you have a action that takes a while it is a looooong time in combat.

That is true. Blake will be busy below decks for a bit.

Well, you are doing a good thing getting the ship some extra speed to get away from the attack boats.

That is a out of combat activity. You'll be able to boost the MDC of the engines, but it will take you several hours of working on them.

I am wondering how much the Automations are tied down? Is the starfire cannon available to be used? I want to have Junior fire it on the dragon.

The arms are available, but if you have them start walking around on the ship, you may have trouble having that much weight shifting about.

I have also decided to take a page from Pathfinder and have everyone gain a single attribute point with every THREE levels you go. I will add this to the top of the character tab shortly.

This attribute increase can be to any of your scores.

Sherwood Sherwood How is the crew positioned on deck? All spread out, or is there a chance to give them some decent cover with an energy field? We need 'em to get us to Atlantis...

They are in two groups, one has three men and the second group has four men in it.

That's slightly inconvenient - I hereby request that Gradicus shouts "Group up, y'all! They won't hit a damn thing anyway!" next time, that'd make my work a bit easier.

Next turn, I'll be at an initiative of 18, right?

Yes. You can yell for the crew to bunch up, but right now they are about to open fire on the three flying suits. If you bundle them up in a bubble, they can't fire back

I'll probably end up casting a useless spell as my first action because it simply feels right...

Got a question about the rules, Sherwood Sherwood : In Pathfinder, there's the Ready-action in combat to allow you to prepare a certain action and activate it under certain conditions - is there something similar in Rifts? Couldn't find anything in the rule books I have, but you're certainly more familiar with them. To give you a better idea what I have in mind: I'm considering something like "I'll delay my action until someone is shot - then I'll cast the energy field around them to protect them."

Edit: Or possibly: I'll cast the energy field on myself once I get shot, if you're not a fan of the options the first version would provide.

Edit2: How long does it take to activate parts of my armor and/or the amulet? One activation for free just like with the tattoos, or longer?

Silanon Silanon It would be a good idea except, in all fairness, my character has no idea what spells your character can cast or what said spells really do. That hasn't been discussed in-character yet.

But once our characters get to know each other better, that is a different story! =)

In the meantime, there is nothing stopping your character from using the M-160 rifle Gradicus lended her. You saw that, right? if it is better than casting useless spell, I recommend doing that instead.

Finally, while I don't know about your armor, Sherwood did state that activating the Blind Warrior Woman medallion was a free action available once per round. =)

I don't know if there is an actual rule in the system, but I do allow you to delay your action until you are ready.

Also, I'll let you activate a talisman or a TW benefit of your armor as a free action, so you can turn on a defense and cast a spell.

Sherwood Sherwood Thanks! I'll probably post a bit later on, kind of busy at the moment...

It would be a good idea
I'm not even so sure about that - everyone hunkering down behind one simple barrier asks for those damn fliers to shoot everything they've got - and that thing only has a limited amount of MDC.

You saw that, right? if it is better than casting useless spell, I recommend doing that instead.
Yepp, I saw that - and it'll certainly find its way into my post. I've got quite a few options what I could do, question is what's actually reasonable in-character, especially after Shaona shit her pants because of the dragon.

Don't forget you are only rattled by the dragon and not the flying suits. You can act as you want, casting spells or attacking as you see fit.

Yeah, Gradicus was lucky with his Natural 20 on the dragon's Horror Factor check.

I like how you role-played Shaona when she failed her check. Very believable, especially given the circumstances!
