Sherwood Sherwood do you have the dimentions of the River Walker? I thought it was fairly large... the badger is 19 tons empty and is 20ft tall, 13ft wide and 32ft long....
The ship is large enough to let the Badger be able to pull in straight and that's about it. With as large as the Badger is, there is just very little room to turn around.
Sherwood Sherwood Do Gradicus's tattoos and medallion cost an action to use or are they free actions?
I'll let you activate one or the other as a free action, but if you wish to activate both, it will use your action.

O.K. So each is a free action, but Gradicus can only activate one at a time. Thanks! That's helpful. =)

p.s. - I updated my CS with a tab for Betty... the only thing I didn't know about was the Water Cannon... I'm sure it doesn't do any real damage but maybe we could maximize the pressure by reducing the diameter of the stream and use it to cut through materials... Is there a range on the water cannon? Sherwood Sherwood
I'm using one of the water cannons from the Vampire Kingdoms book. I'll update the write-up later on. I have some stuff to do first.

Fighting this dragon reminds me of Esbilon's dragon hatchling PC who just waded into fights and couldn't be bothered with armor or healing because she had ridiculous MDC and bio-regeneration. Uff da.

Dano Dano Did I goof? Didn't Trent head over to the nicely-armed Badger and shout things at Eric? That's not the action of a guy who's not willing to fight; that person would be running below decks.

Purr Purr Trent was inside the Badger when the alarms sounded, he simply shouted to Foss and he armed the giant ion cannon. Trent values his life above all else... and since he's on a boat, there isn't any other option but victory.... Trent is on coms with Foss, so if you were on the same frequency you would hear him?

Sure? Sorry. Sometimes my brain throws me off.

With that, he jumped into the cockpit and the engines roared to life.

I saw that and (for reasons only my neurologically-weirded-out brain knows) got the impression that Trent exited some part of the huge vehicle and reentered the cockpit from the outside. Duh! I've never seen the Badger before this game and I guess I wasn't thinking. Sorry! I goof all of the time...

Want me to change up my post? Do you want Gradicus to hear what Trent was saying to Foss? I can say Gradicus doesn't know a thing if you'd prefer?

(Real Life beckons. I'll read your reply tomorrow. Sleep well, Dano and Co.!) =)

Sherwood Sherwood - I hope you dont mind, but since discovering the size of the River Walker, it has completely thrown my idea out the door, so rather than Trent trying to free his 'baby', he is just going to power up the ion cannon in his "prep" turn.

Purr Purr nah its all good - you've got a HUD helmet on which has coms in it, so we can assume you could hear everything being said. Have a good night!

Sherwood Sherwood If Foss wasn't able to use the rail gun on Betty, is Trent going to be able to use the Ion Cannon? The picture in the book shows the rail gun pointing forward, just as the Ion Cannon, so if the dragon is on deck we should be able to fire? Without visuals its difficult to understand where exactly everyone and everything is located :(

Alrighty - as announced earlier (at least if I didn't forget that...), I'll be online less frequently during the upcoming two weeks; I'll post when I can, but it might take a bit longer until I respond.

Thank you so much for the heads up, Silanon Silanon ! Remember not to get so busy that you forget to come up for air! =)

The main gun is on a 360 turret, so it can swivel around and target either the dragon or the three suits of armor.

Sherwood Sherwood Since Gradicus is attacking with both swords and cannot use his Automatic Parry, I will have him use his Automatic Roll from Zanji Shinjinken Ryu instead. He will take damage, of course, but it is a trade he is willing to make.

I will type this up later today. =)

EDIT: Oh, and were Gradicus's strikes enough to get a pair-of-boots-sized-chunk out of the Dragon's hide? Or does he need to keep at it?

All right! One down, one to go!

Then sometime after this battle, Gradicus might approach the crew and ask why the Badger is positioned the way it is. If I understand this right, the ion cannon is facing mid-ship, and the water cannon is facing aft?

Why for? In case we could attacked by vampires surfer dudes in the middle of the night?

Later tonight...

Vampire Surfer on his magically-protective bodyboard #1 sez, "Those sand-for-brains douches on that boat will so totally NEVER expect us to attack like this! Like, get a load of that gnarly ride on the deck, bruh!"

Vampire Surfer #2 licks his fangs and sez, "Suhwheeet, bruh, but not as hot as that babe in the shiny armor. She is smokin'!"

Vampire Surfer #3 in his Speedos zooms in his night-vision binoculars and sez, "Oh, they're nothing, honey. I just want to get my claws on that handsome brute with the two swords! Boy, I'd love to put some lotion on that ass!"

Gradicus, looking uneasy on the deck, sez, "I am alone on deck in the middle of the night and almost everyone is sleeping. So why do I have that feeling like someone is checking me out?"

The Vampire Surfers chuckle collectively and close in...

(End) =)

Amusing as that is, I suspect their answer will be "It's the best way to ship and load balance the weight of the rig, which was more important to a long trip than which way the guns are facing". ;) That and I suspect the crew's not used to planning defenses with other people's vehicles.

Both weapons are on turrets, so they can swivel about with almost a complete 360 arc of fire. At the moment, both vehicles have been backed into the deck to be able to offload quickly once you get to Atlantis.

You never know, Dano! The dice often have minds of their own!

Go get 'em, Trent! 8D
