Jacob looked at Meredith, pointed at her foot, then Hai's, as he ran.

 

[Magikarp]

When Erika starting screaming, presumably from a nightmare Zhi was caught off guard, so much so he didn't see Jacob give Meredith a signal and Jacob running at him with a knife. Realizing what Jacob was doing Zhi tightened his grip on Meredith's throat and shot at Jacob with Erika's pistol. What the h*** is he doing?

 

[Soluna]

The bullet hit Jacob in the shoulder, but he kept running. Now, he was almost on top of Hai.

 

[Scottish Cupcake]

Erika snapped out of her trance when she had heard the gunshot and looked at Hai who Jacob had just practically tackled. What the hell is going on?! She thought after seeing a pistol in Hai's hand. Erika looked at her bag and grabbed it looking through it only to find that her gun was gone. Hai had shot Jacob with her gun. But why? What happened while I was sleeping? She looked back at Hai where she had noticed a girl was next to him. And who's she?! Erika thought trying to put everything together.

 

[Soluna]

Jacob got to Hai, and tackled him, bringing his knife to his throat.

 

[Magikarp]

The bullet lodged in Jacob's shoulder was a small victory, but other than that the short was practically in vain as Jacob was practically on top of him. This wasn't part of the plan! D*** him, d*** him to h***, if he would have just let me go than none of this would have happened! Think Zhi, don't let your emotions control you. However even than Jacob tackled him to the floor and brought a knife to his thoat. Knowing that this could be the end Zhi used his last resort plan.


"Go ahead kill me, but if you do all of China will be after you, they know of my general location, they could easily track me and find out who was my murderer by DNA scans and strand builds."

Erika looked on in terror she was scared and utterly confused. " W-What happened?" she managed to just whisper with a million questions still racing through her head. She worked up all of her strength to stand up and walk over to them. She walked over to the girl and put a hand on her shoulder " Are you okay?" she said looking at her.

 

[Soluna]

Jacob looked at him. "Clothes in bad shape. No supplies when we found you. Most likely: You are lying." He said.

 

[Meredith]

Meredith pulled herself away from the man, rubbing her throat. It was red, and it hurt badly. She drank in air, her eyes wide; she scooted to the other side of the area in which they slept.

 

[Magikarp]

Looks like I have to play this card...doing this though will be a double edged sword, however right now my survival is on the line...curse his observant nature.


"My name, my real name is Zhi Yamauchi, head of the Yamauchi clan, esteemed noble and adviser to the court of the Emperor himself. However like I said before, kill me if you want and watch China destroy you. Let me live and you will be spared and I will explain everything." Zhi revealed.

 

[Soluna]

Jacob made a split decision, and sat on Zhi's legs, taking the knife off his throat. "Explain."

Erika looked away from the girl and looked at Hai or Zhi as he says his real name is. Erika gritted her teeth and clenched her hands into fists. That bastard! I should have known! She thought before sitting back down realizing what was happening. This is all my fault. She thought rubbing her forehead. If I never would have tried to help him Jacob nor that girl would have gotten hurt! Erika laid on her back for the second time mentally slapping herself. I'm so stupid!

 

[Soluna]

Jacob sat patiently, glancing at Erika and Meredith, before back at Zhi. "Explain" He repeated.

“I was traveling on a plane for diplomatic reasons, however it turned out my pilot was a double agent. I managed to kill him but he disengaged the autopilot and tampered with the radio making it so I could not contact any radio base. So in a last ditch effort I jumped out of the plane before it crashed somewhere. My parachute is buried under the sand a little ways east from here as I needed to ditch the evidence, need any more proof than you can do a bit of excavation for my parachute." Zhu explained.


Looking at the girl, Erika, and Jacob Zhi let out a sigh. All this trouble so he wouldn’t leak any information about himself or his endeavors resulted in him revealing everything about himself, the irony.Great I just compromised everything.

[Soluna]

Jacob nodded, before he got off Zhi. "Done. Gear back, please."

 

[Scottish Cupcake]

" Damn. . . I should have never tried to help you," Erika said looking at Zhi." I should have listened to that con-man who told me helping people never gets you anything but trouble. I really hate you now," she said grabbing her gun and walking back to her stuff. This time putting the gun in her belt loop. She sat on the blanket and took out the pocket watch. She began messing with the gears again trying to calm herself " Gott verdammt liar," she said looking at Zhi then back at the pocket watch.

 

[Meredith]

Meredith stared at the man, still rubbing her throat.


"Why would you do that...?" She asked, her voice quiet. She stood. "There are so few people left, and you threaten to kill me?" Her face twists into a sneer. "How..." She shook her head and unsheathed her sword, stabbing it into the ground. She took it up, looking at the others. "I'm going... for a walk. I'll be back in a few minutes." She turned, walking away towards an almost forested area.

 

[Magikarp]

Zhi glared at Jacob and Erika while giving him back his supplies, however while having the gun and canteen in his hands Zhi decided for once to act on an impulse, after all he had nothing else to lose.


"I threatened you because my own life was threatened. Fú wú zhòng zhì, huòbùdānxíng. Loosely translated it basically means opportunities should not be taken for granted. A problem ignored is a problem doubled. You were the perfect opportunity for me to contact my alliances."Zhi told Meredith. "In fact I think I have an opportunity right now."


Kicking up dirt in Jacob's face and shooting wildly Zhi made a break for it, running at godspeed with the gun and canteen.

 

[Soluna]

Jacob calmly rubbed the dirt off his mask, and took careful aim with his rifle, before firing at Zhi's feet.

 

[Scottish Cupcake]

Erika stood up dropping her pocket watch and pulled her gun out of her belt loop. She ran after him but she didn't shoot she wanted to get closer before she even attempted " You're not getting away!"

 

[Soluna]

Jacob stopped firing before he started running after Zhi as well.

 

[Magikarp]

Zhi felt a bullet penetrate his left foot, stopping him dead in his tracks. Pain flared at his foot and it took all his will power not to scream and fall over. However his determination was strong and instead of crumpling to the ground he kept running. With blood gushing out of the bullet wound Zhi staggered a bit, especially when Erika started after him as well as Jacob. Taking the gun he stole from Jacob he started firing, his eyes trained on both of them and his firing arm unwavering.

 

[Soluna]

Another bullet flew into Jacob's chest, but it was stopped. Jacob was almost on top of Zhi, and he drew his knife again.

Erika kept running feeling the force of the bullets hit her but like always no pain. She began shooting at him just like he had. She had stopped shooting when Jacob got closer to Zhi. She would keep firing but didn't want to end up accidentally shoot Jacob.

 

[Soluna]

Jacob jumped on Zhi, knocking the breath out of him, before hitting him in the wound he had with the butt of his knife.
