Futuristic Reconstruction

[Meredith]

Meredith bit her lip. She took the canteen, taking enough water to fill her mouth and swallowing it.


"There. Thank you..." She sighed softly. "But...who are you?"

 

[Soluna]

Jacob looked at her. "Jacob." He said.

 

[Meredith]

Meredith nodded slowly. That's not what I mean! Was what she wanted to say, but he did have a firearm. And chances were, he could and would use it.


"...Meredith." She said quietly. "...and... who are the others in your group...? That girl and the man?" She silently cursed herself. Crap. What a foolish way for him to find out I was watching!

 

[Soluna]

He paused, before walking back to camp. He stopped and looked back. "Coming?"

 

[Meredith]

Meredith forced herself to nod. She didn't want to. It was ironic - she had nowhere to go because this man had blown up her home, but he was offering her somewhere to stay. Her lips curved into a slight smile before she forced it off her face.


"...Yeah." She began to walk after him, slowly at first, but then she very nearly matched his pace.

 

[Soluna]

"Sleep." Jacob said, putting his assault rifle down and picking up his other. He took the magazine out of it, before putting it back.

 

[Meredith]

Meredith looked at him incredulously.


"...Allright." She wanted a cigarette, and she wanted one badly, but she didn't want to take them out in front of the man. She didn't want to show off what little supplies she had. She took her backpack off and put it onto the ground. Curling herself around it, she allowed herself to close her eyes, but she didn't fall asleep. I don't trust any of them.

 

[Soluna]

Jacob looked up to see Meredith curl up in a ball that looked extremely uncomfortable. He sighed, before saying, "Sleep comfortably."

 

[Meredith]

Meredith straightened herself a bit, hugging her bag to her chest. She bit her lip, looking up at Jacob a moment before closing her eyes again.


"...better?" She asked, sighing, letting herself relax a bit, but not enough.

 

[Soluna]

He nodded, before picking up one of the explosives. He threw it up in the air, caught it, then made sure that it wasn't liable to explode, before putting it back.

 

[Meredith]

Meredith listened as he threw something up in the air. She listened for a while - she listened to everything, some sort of animal outside, the other people in the tent. Eventually, she was lulled to sleep by the sound of her own breathing.

 

[Soluna]

Jacob listened to Meredith as she slowly went to sleep. "Like brother." He sighed, shaking his head.

Unfortunately, killing is one of those things that gets easier the more you do it.

 

[Magikarp]

Zhi let out a frustrated mental groan, Jacob was ruining his plans, not only was Jacob perceptive but he was stubborn. With Erika asleep Jacob pulled out weapons of his own which were a lot better than Erika's puny pistol.I need to figure out a plan, I can't possibly get back to China while I'm with these people and even if I go I have no supplies or money with me.


That is until a girl appeared and from the looks of it was American. The girl looked like she was trying to hide her accent it but it was still evident. Watching the interaction between the two, the girl seemed timid and quiet and Jacob seemed to take a liking to her. Perfect...it's now or never.Taking a deep breath Zhi plastered on a smile, took his shawl off, and walked toward Erika to make it looked like he was going to sleep next to her. His footsteps were quite, barely legible to not wake Erika. Nearing her Zhi dropped next to her. Jacob looked preoccupied doing whatever he was doing, so now was the perfect time. With Godspeed Zhi took Erika's gun from her bag and ran to the new girl. Taking her by the hair he put the girl in a choke hold, which was easy considering she was asleep, pulled back the slide onto of the barrel to load the bullet, and dug the muzzle of the gun into her head, his finger on the trigger.


"Move and I will shoot her," Zhi informed Jacob coldly

 

[Soluna]

Jacob stopped moving. He looked at Hai, before standing up. "Why?" He asked Hai.

 

[Meredith]

Meredith's eyes opened when she realized that someone was touching her.


"Let go of me!" She yelled. She fought for a minute before realizing that there was a gun to her head. She fell still. She looked at Jacob, her eyes pleading. Please, please get me out of this.

 

[Soluna]

Jacob shook his head at Meredith. His faceless mask looked back at her.

 

[Meredith]

Meredith bit her lip to stop herself from yelling again. Her body was shaking. Crap crap crap. I can't die like this.

[Magikarp]

"Quiet," Zhi hissed to the girl when she started struggling. However a few seconds after she stopped and froze, most likely now realizing her life was in danger.


Zhi's heart was pounding wildly but he remained calm and expressionless, not letting his emotions get the better of him. So far so good, no casualties have arisen and I have a visual on Jacob, Erika, and the new girl. They won't dare make a move.


"Don't test me," Zhi growled at Jacob, digging the muzzle of the gun deeper into Meredith's skull. "And there is no why. Now you are going to give me some of your supplies, food, water, money, and a gun. You will not hand me the supplies; instead you will place it halfway between you and me, but before that you must drop all your weapons besides the one you are giving me. I expect you to unload the gun you’re giving me and put the bullets with the supplies .”

 

[Soluna]

Jacob asked, "Why?" He asked Hai. He stared at him, before taking six grenades, two knives, and a pistol and place them behind him. He grabbed his canteen, three MRE's, and got one of his assault rifles. He walked halfway to Hai, then put it all on the ground, before he moved back to his current supplies.

 

[Magikarp]

"Like I said there is no why."


Once the supplies were on ground Zhi started walking toward it with the girl still in the choke hold. With the gun still trainer to her head Zhi picked up the supplies. Alright, almost done, everything is going as planned, the town isn't far, I'll make my way there, contact my alliances, and plan a designated area where they will pick me up.


"I am bringing the girl with me, 15 minutes after I leave I will ditch her, feel free to grab her than." Zhi informed them.


He still needed the girl to make a quick getaway, than he'd ditch her and make his way to the town.

 

[Soluna]

"No." Jacob said. He shook his head, before saying, "Trust."

 

[Scottish Cupcake]

Erika couldn't hear a thing because she usually got lost in her nightmares caused by her memory loss. She couldn't remember anything from the age of 12 and below. She rolled over and mumbled to herself " No," she hugged herself tight and struggled to wake up.


Erika stood in the middle of a field looking for anyone else. "You really should be more careful," she turned around and saw a young boy who was carrying a younger girl on his back. The little boy had identical silver hair to the girl and the same ruby eyes. The girl had red eyes like Erika and her hair was in pigtails. They were both wearing a white t-shirt and cargo shorts. The little girl pouted her bottom lip and crossed her arms " You're not being nice brother! I'm going to tell Mutti on you!" the little girl threatened saying "bruder" instead of "brother". Erika just watched as they walked away. Soon following them back to their home. It was a dream after all and they couldn't see her. She walked into the house behind the children. The young boy walked over to a stool and set his sister down." Mutti! Vatti!" the boy called for his parents but got no response. The boy walked over to the stairs his sister not far behind. They walked up the stairs with Erika following behind." M-Mutti?" the girl stuttered cautiously walking behind her brother to their parents room. They opened the door only to find their mother laying on the floor dead. It was a gruesome scene and the little girl ran to the trash can throwing up. After she was finished her brother walked over and hugged her. She started wailing as the brother silently cried. " Why did this have to happen to us?!" the young girl screamed before her breath became hitched." Who would do this? To such young children?" Erika asked herself looking at the mother. " Erika we need to get out of here," Erika looked over at the children who had stood up and started walking. " Erika?" she said horrified and looked back at the mother."No! No! NO! This isn't what happened! It can't be," Erika said gripping her hair and falling to her knees.





Erika sat up and screamed " No! No! No! I won't except it!" she shouted as she began crying " Mutti."

Jacob looked over for a second at Erika as she woke up screaming before he grabbed one of his knives and ran at Hai.

 

[Meredith]

Meredith cringed as Jacob ran toward them. This could get me killed. She thought, biting her lip hard.


"Ohmygod..." She whimpered.
