Futuristic Reconstruction

She walked behind Jacob with the other man " No I don't have any water or food for that matter. In fact I ate my last piece of chocolate a few minutes ago. But I do have some cigarettes if you want one. Also I'm German not Russian," she said looking at him " May I ask your name sir?" Erika said averting her gaze away.

Giving a surprised look Zhi mentally cursed when Jacob tossed him the water. Though it didn't really matter because the girl didn't have any water anyways. Thanking the man Zhi took the cap off the water and put his lips to the edge, but he didn't drink. Instead he pursed his lips and tilted the bottle to make it look like he did. How he wanted to cave in and drink, but he did not trust the man, for he could barely read him. While the girl was like an open book the man was like a safe. Putting the cap on the water Zhi tossed it back to the man with a smile adorning his face, fake of course.

"That's alright, you're friend Jacob was kind enough to give me some and I should have known you were from Germany, and I would love a cigarette," Zhui replied.

Though he liked more traditional ways of smoking Zhi really needed to smoke to clear his head and focus, plus this could be another chance to get a glimpse at her supplies.

When the girl asked for his name Zhi already had a fake name set, one he used for emergencies like this.

"My name is Hai Yang," Zhi introduced while giving both of them a short bow. "What's yours?"

" Jacob leave him alone maybe he doesn't trust you. I mean when I first saw you I thought you were going to kill me," she said looking at Jacob. " I'm sorry about him Hai and I'm Erika. Erika Wagner," she said taking her backpack off and opened it rummaging around for her cigarette pack. When she found it she grabbed her lighter out of her pocket. Erika grabbed two cigarettes and handed one to him. " Here you go," she said before taking off her gas mask placing the other one between her lips " If you don't have a lighter you can use mine," Erika said lighting hers. She put her cigarettes back in her bag and looked at Hai " Do you need to use my lighter?" she asked holding out the lighter for him.

Zhi mentally cursed again, Jacob was perceptive, well at least he figured that out about him. I have to be more careful, or my cover will be blown...Putting on his best fake smile Zhi waved it off, hoping his 'happy go lucky vibe' was getting through to these people.

"It's fine Erika, I just took a small sip that's why it doesn't seem any heavier that's all, I don't want to waste water," He insisted.

While she was busying herself with finding the cigarettes Zhi caught a glimpse of a weapon in her pack, it was a simple pistol. Although simple it was still a weapon nonetheless. Jackpot, if the worse case scenario arises I can steal her gun and go from there.Happily accepting the cigarette and lighter Zhi lit it and took a drag before handing Erika back her lighter. Taking another drag when Jacob revealed that he didn't trust him to calm himself down Zhi plastered on another smile.

"I understand that you don't trust me Jacob, after all we just met, but I think we'll become great friends, Erika included," Zhi proclaimed. "So where are we headed anyways?"

"There's a small town a few miles away they sell stuff cheaper down there, " Erika said shoving the lighter back in her pocket. "We'll get supplies there and continue on from there," she mentioned looking at the sun. " It'll be night time soon enough we'll make camp at the same place I was at last night. After all we don't want to mess with anyone passing by. That reminds me when night does come along someone will have to keep watch," she explained taking the cigarette out of her mouth blowing out a puff of smoke out." Say Jacob? Do you trust me?" she said thinking back to his statement about Hai.

Jacob pointed at Erika, then nodded. He then pointed at Hai, then shook his head, before sitting down again.

" Well I guess that's good...But why? There's no reason for you to trust me," she said putting the cigarette back in her mouth. She blew out another cloud of smoke and then threw the cigarette on the ground crushing it with her foot. I really wish he would talk more...I think people would find more reason to trust him. People trust me real easy because they think I'm an open book but I could turn on someone at any moment. People just don't know me the way they think they do. She thought looking at Jacob. You never really know if you could trust anyone. She shook her head and looked at Hai then back at Jacob again. Oh boy what did get myself into. Stupid! Stupid! Stupid! Erika thought mentally slapping herself.

A town, I bet I could get in contact with one my alliances, and we're setting up camp already? This presents the perfect opportunity to ditch these people…hm perhaps I should take these people out, though they don’t know my true identity and that would just lower my chances of survival.

"A town? Where exactly is it? Oh but I can't wait to see what it's like and since you guys have been so nice to me, I volunteer to keep watch!" Zhi offered.

Zhi's mood dropped dramatically when Jacob silently told both of them that he trusted Erika but not Zhi. Tch, it looks like I'm not going to be able to earn this guy’s trust, it's always the silent brooding types. Fine than I'll just take him out as he’s making himself a casualty, but for now I'll continue with this stupid act.Taking a final drag Zhi tossed his cigarette on the ground and crushed it, just as Erika did.

(sorry fell asleep, probs going to head off to bed as sleeping on a desk is not a good thing)

Jacob shook his head. "I'll take first watch." And got a book out of his backpack.

(Sorry, had to wait for my brother to fall asleep)

Erika pouted her bottom lip and crossed her arms " Jacob! I wanted to take the first watch! Ladies first!" she said stomping her foot on the ground obviously angry. She was acting like a child but she was tired." You're being unfair!" she mumbled sitting down.

(( BTW the term "Ladies first" is outdated very few people still use it like very few.))

Erika pulled her backpack off her shoulders " You better actually pay attention don't get lost in that book. I don't want to die yet," she said pulling a folded up blanket out of her bag. She unfolded it and wrapped it around herself putting her bag under her head as she laid down. " I'm trusting you Jacob. I better wake up in the morning or I'll haunt you for the rest of your life," she said closing her eyes and falling asleep quickly.

Jacob snorted, before putting the book away and pulling out two dozen explosives and the two assault rifles.

Meredith had been following that man. The man who had blown up the outpost. She'd been outside when it happened, thank god. She'd watched as he'd found the girl. She'd observed his camp. She'd watched as another man seemed to join them. She'd watched as they'd set up camp. She'd watched as they set up one. Finally, she decided to close in, to walk up to them. She slowly began to walk toward the tent, hands up, taking great care that the man on guard could see her.

"Hello...?" She called out. Though her voice was soft - she was making her best effort to sound harmless - it carried. Her sword smacked against her thigh repeatedly as she slowly and steadily came closer to their tent.

Jacob looked up from his array of weapons. A girl was approaching. She seemed harmless, but Jacob held up his hand.

Meredith halted, ducking her head slightly. Goddamit, don't shoot me. She sighed. Her backpack was irritating her. Usually, she'd never approach people, but this was an emergentcy. That guy blew up almost everything I own!

Jacob got up, and started walking towards her, bringing one of his assault rifles, before stopping in front of her.

Meredith froze as the man came closer with his gun.

"And what are you planning to do with that?"

Meredith relaxed as he lowered the gun.

"I don't have any." Her voice cracked, hoarse. "I don't have anything to give you... I'm sorry."

Meredith nodded. Although she didn't want to take it, for fear of poison, she knew she needed water, and why would he poison his own drink anyways? Just in case?. She took it gently, taking a few small sips and giving it back. What she took was barely enough to wet her mouth.

"...Thank you." She'd learned before to stick to small phrases. It made it harder for people to judge her accent.
