"I sure hope so," Tsubaki said with a slight sigh. "Kyubey can be a conniving little bastard when he wants to be." She lightly touched her own soul gem, knowing that the battle hadn't really clouded it any.

Yui wakes up with ringing in her ears and hair alittle puffy. " what going on who is kyubey replacement." Yui screams out after only getting a small amount of the new information. " that was bit to electrify for me. Is everyone ok." Yui yells again.

"When he wants to be?" Max chuckled as Yui woke up. She took her hands off Yui's soul gem. "I'm gonna be working as Kyubey's replacement, and everyone's okay," Max said as she got up. "All the knowledge of the incubators in the head of a human. Interesting." She stretched a bit. "Unfortunate that I'll also have to take part in the unpleasantness of the job, but oh well." She cracked her neck a bit. "So is anyone going to take the other two grief seeds, or not?" She said as she levitated them over to her and hovered them above her hands.

"Being the newest, both of us need to build up a stock of them." Tsubaki looked back at Max, "I still have some leftover so you should keep them. Unless someone else needs one." She added the last bit looking between the others gathered.

" my soulgem is at a 1/3 i need a greif seed too." Yui again yells but it seem less loud this time. "My hearing seems to be coming back. Note to self water and electricity is bad."

Max nodded and levitated one over to Yui. "I'm keeping the last one. Sorry Arashi and Tsubaki, but I need something," she said as she grabbed one and looked at her soul gem. It wasn't BAD, as she didn't really do that much magic during the fight, but it was still nice to have a seed on her.

When the grief seeds were passed around and filled this was when the incubator chose to make his entrance " I bielive this is when you humans woudl organize a farewell party Kyubey said having come simply for the grief seeds " I really need to remember to send someone with some social skills next time, i could have waited Katja He said despite having known how she would take it.

Arashi tsked, uninterested in all that was going on. She just needed to go rest now. She tossed her used grief seeds at Kyubey, then walked off without another word. If she had said anything, she might have been rather unpleasant. Either way, she really didn't want to see the incubator now, and the large gathering wasn't her cup of tea.

Max grinned. "Hello? Someone with social skills right here!" She joked, knowing that it was because of her that the encounter happened. "Your lack of faith astounds me... though in retrospect I suppose it makes sense." She held onto the grief seed. "I'm gonna save this for when I really need it. I wouldn't be getting the most out of it if I used it now." She watched as Arashi left. "I hope she's alright. That really wasn't cool Katja. If you wanted to tell her, you could have just waited until the battle was over, then you could have brought her. No rush." She leaned against a wall. "Besides, if I ever DO turn and become corrupted, it's gonna take awhile. Remember my wish Kyubey? My personality won't change as a direct result. Meaning it will be awhile before anything significant happens. So take your time assembling your counter-forces. It's all good." She turned to Tsubaki. "Thanks for staying cool about it, by the way. It's helpful to know that at least someone won't judge me for my new job."

" You already knew i would try to form an emergency force, should the knowledge prove to much for you, or should your humanity lead you to a dangerous path. I do not see how your personality has anything to do with it personalities can change rapidly. Kyubey said being honest in his acts " This has however changed one factor as now i will need a new person to really watch you, perhaps you would be interested Tsubaki , maybe not Kyubey continued before he spat up several seeds. " These are for you then Max plant them well and make good yoma " he said moving them over to max.

Max grabbed them and tossed a few in the air, catching them as they fell back down. "Gee, thanks. I always wanted one, how did you know?" She put them in one of her pockets as she continued leaning on the wall. "I still think I'll be fine, but whatever helps you sleep at night." She cracked her knuckles a bit and shook her hands. "For all my joking though, I get it. I just urge you to remember one thing. You fear what I can do because of my knowledge, the knowledge of the incubators, in the hands of one with emotions and free will. Don't forget, though, that that can be a huge asset. If someone with free will truly believes in something, burns with the determination to accomplish a task... well, they're a hard force to stop. That could work immensely in your favor... or immensely against it." She leaned off the wall. "I understand you needing to build up a counter-force. I completely get it. But what happened today wasn't cool. I don't know if that was you telling her to behave like that, or if that was Katja taking matters into her own hands. Your response indicates the latter. Nonetheless, keep it in mind.

"I believe in your cause, Incubator, I really do. Right now, I am a vital asset to the team. I want to help you. But you're right. Things can change. Build your force. Prepare for if I turn. But please, don't hurt any of these girls in the process. Perhaps having my own desires is a weakness brought on by my natural humanity, perhaps it is a vital asset that incubators simply can't understand. The fact remains that it can be a great help, or the bane of the group. As it stands, those are my desires. Respect those, and I shall respect yours. We cool? We cool." Max levitated one of the seeds out. "So I suppose this begins night 1 of my new job..." she facepalmed. "Oh geez, how am I gonna explain to dad?"

" I prepare for every eventuality, even your desire to help and do good could become a problem, you are a test and every test needs a way to stop it shoudl it backfire it is simple as that. As for Katja's actions you know i can't control what you girls do , i could but i don't i said bring me Arashi as fast as possible, and i committed a mistake you girls often forget and forgot details, like not trying to kill others. Well that doesn't matter much she is yours while i am gone " Kyubey explained still not exactly seeing Katja as a person if his words were anything to go by then he simply vanished returning home to conserve energy.

After tossing the creature her used seeds, Tsubaki listened to Kyubey talk. She couldn't exactly blame Kyubey for his concern, his knowledge mixed with the unpredictability of human nature could be . . . interesting to say the least. But he did admit his mistake in having Katja come get Arashi. Not that it really made up for the near disaster that happened. But one piece of information in particular stood out against everything else... "Whoa, whoa, back up." Her voice was a little louder than she intended, "What do you mean 'go plant grief seeds and make Yoma'? You're the one responsible for them?!"

"Yep," Max said as Kyubey disappeared, leaving her the only one to answer. "The Incubators are responsible for the Yoma. Well... their genesis anyway. Yoma can create other Yoma, of course, but occasionally the Incubators need to give it a little push on their own. Well... a tad more than occasionally I suppose."

Tsubaki's crimson eyes narrowed at Max as she explained it. How could she be so nonchalant about something like that? "It's bad enough I know I'm killing something that used to be human. But to know you're going out and turning people into Yoma intentionally!?" She took a slow, uneven breath in a bid to keep from lashing out. "Just . . . why?"

Max held out her hand. "Woah, calm down, it wasn't my idea. It's an unpleasant job, and I'd rather not be the one that had to do it. But the Incubator backed me into a corner on this one. If I refused, a lot more people could die," Max said. She wasn't lying per se, but she wasn't quite telling the full truth either. Nonetheless, it would hopefully satiate Tsubaki and not freak out the Incubator.

Tsubaki shook her head. "But, why?" Her voice had lowered into a growl, "We risk our lives every day to stop those things from killing more humans, and now you're telling me that little rat's going out and making more anyway." She shook her head, "Is this some kind of sick game to them?"

Max shook her head. "No, no. Are you familiar with the concept of entropy? In all actions, a bit of thermal energy is lost. This is lost forever. Eventually, our universe will lose all heat and will experience a 'heat death.' The Incubators found a source of energy that defied entropy: emotional energy. When you give Kyubey a grief seed, you're basically giving him a capsule of energy that defies entropy. All of this in the hopes of postponing the heat death," Max explained as simply as she could. It was a bit more complicated than that, of course, but that explanation sufficed.

Tsubaki clenched her fists in an attempt to keep them from shaking. "That doesn't magically make killing innocent people okay..." She growl, turning away. She felt hot tears stinging the corners of her eyes. Her soul gem glowed faintly under her gentle touch before the girl left slip space in a red flash. Luckily for Tsubaki this part of the park was fairly empty this time of day. Cram schools tended to take a higher priority for most of the citizens that would be visiting anyway. The girl sat, slumped against a tree.

Was it really worth it?

Max sat down next to Tsubaki, having popped out of slipspace herself, and placed a hand on her shoulder. "It sucks, I know. It's a tragedy that people have to die, whether or not it's for the sake of the universe. But we, as magical girls, can't stop. We can't help the victims of Yoma planting, but we can help the victims of Yoma. We may not be able to stop the seeds being planted, but we can stop the Yoma from killing MORE people." Max got up and fished around in her pocket, and pulled out cards. On them, a number was printed. "I understand that, as the bearer of bad news, you probably don't want to talk to me that much. You probably don't want to talk to anyone. But if you need someone to talk to, ask questions, clear your head... I'm here for you." She placed the cards next to Tsubaki, the number on it being her phone number. "Also, if you see the other magical girls, would you mind giving it to them to? Sorry, but as of right now I don't have Kyubey's telepathy, so I need them to be able to contact me." She paused for a moment and patted Tsubaki's shoulder before beginning to walk away.

" so i am nothing but a killer for hire. I am killing people you turn into monsters so you could collect energy. Great i thought i was getting over this feeling of guilt. Now i save my brother just to kill other and what even more screwed up you dont see anything wrong with it. I thought you were our friend max how could you be ok with this." Yui says crying. The overwhelming feeling of guilt and sorrow realising from her. Because her emotions are tide to her powers. Thing begin to become cooler and freeze.

"Hey, hey, hey," Max said in a soothing voice. "I was forced into this. The wish I made created enormous karmic debt. If I hadn't agreed to this, a very large amount of people would have died. We're talking a continent here. Even then, Yoma would still keep getting created. I chose the lesser of two evils." She paused for a moment. "But there is hope. Kyubey has a quota. An amount he needs to fulfill. If I can fulfill that amount, it'll all be over. The Yoma will be gone."

"I'm a murderer. I'm a murdeerer..." Yui says repeating herself over and over not even hearing max. Her ice grows around her freezing things and the shattering. It begins to approach Max's feet. Yui boarders on despair with the thought of her sacrificing others so the universe could live. "What do you care Max? Your worst than Katja."

Max backs away as the ice approaches her feet. "Yui, calm down! You're being irrational! This wasn't my choice!" She continued backing away from the ice. "It's awful people have to die, but that was the Incubator's decision, not mine! I'm forced to uphold it, or even MORE people would die!"

Katja had watched from a distance, her presence after Kyubey had arrived had been all but forgotten as it seemed others often saw her and him as a package or something, if he was there she could be ignored. She didn't mind the less she had to say the better things generally got objectively worse with her interfering. Still she watched Yui have a freak out and she did wonder if she would freak out like that if she were like them, but right now she was doing something Katja had never seen manifesting powers outside of slip space. Katja didn't fear the ice so instead she just walked up to Yui.

" You are not murdering anyone, if you must see Yoma as humans understand they are suffering they would want to die rather than be monsters. You are helping them and with every Yoma slain you push the gap back meaning less Yoma must exist the cycle can end if you try hard enough" Katja stated not twisting words or lying simply telling the best truth she could.
