Fantasy [Private] El Stories

A powerful shake was unexpected for her. That girl was very powerful indeed. They had a common goal, that's all that mattered. Airi... she was certainly intelligent but she would get nothing if she thought she was smart enough to manipulate her.

She shrugged at her question before yawning. She was hungry again, maintaining her illusion magic wasn't easy.

"Beats me. I heard there was some battle against the demons in Ruben, so the people's morale might be low because of it."

Ash
Ash was nearing the field of battle. He decided to jump on top a tree and watch over Rain.
"So you've chosen to watch over the girl huh."
Ash nodded his head.
"She seeks something. I won't budge unless I see it is needed." Ash watched as Rain used her blood as means of weaponry.
"Remind you of anyone Ash?"
Ares asked. Ash couldn't help but nod his head. As he watch Rain fight the beast by herself.

"Oh, I see!" Responded Airi. Enthusiasm pumped through her veins. Her stomach started growling right after she said that.
Airi stared at Lara. Was she hungry too...?
"I'm kinda hungry... Should we eat?"

As the ride continue, buildings from afar were beginning to come closer by the minute.

*Clink* His chains reached out for him, giving him a little advice.

"You're right. I'll try to be patient with them, emphasis on try." He replied to them while they entered the stone path. The buildings donned a victorian gothic architecture style that accentuates the nightmarish feeling of the economy of the streets and the dead of night.

"This is the Capital, Oblivio. Before we formed the counsel, you can image that this place wasn't as passive as it is now. No, they were aggressive with everything, even with food since it started to become scarce. Nowadays, they're pacified knowing that someone can help somewhat guide their lives. Though don't let my words fool you, there are still shady stuff happening here. Things that is beyond my hands." He explained to him, even after he had a nagging suspicion that he didn't care.

*Clink*

"Still needed to warn him, though." He replied back to them.

"Sir! The Dark Palace is in sight!"
The conductor warned him. In the distance as the name suggested, a purple colored palace stuck out from the rest of the buildings, being larger and much more detailed.

"Great, that took less than I imagined." He said as they stopped in front of it. "That's 300 ED, right?"

"Yes, sir! Thank you for using our services!"
He responded while receiving his money. Both of them left the carriage as it drove away.

"Alright follow me. Some of the counsel members should be waiting for us right about now."
He gestured Oblivio as he guided him through the building.

Lara smiled at Airi's enthusiasm.
"Sure. I don't have lots of money to spare, so you'll have to buy your own meals for a while."
She signaled the barman to bring some rabbit stew. Then, she opened a small mana flask she had stolen from bandits and began to sip it. It wasn't as effective as taking it from a living being, but it had to do.
"I must tell you, I'm more of a mage, so keeping my mana high is essential. And you? What kind of martial arts do you use?"
She waited for her answer as a maid put the stew with a piece of bread on the table. Lara paid her two copper ED and shred the bread in two and gave one half to Airi.

Rena broke out in a wide smile as the boy expressed his enthusiasm and took the lead. Her voice came out in a whisper.

"Thank you, Xavier."

Her grateful expression turned serious as she turned back to the issue on hand.

"Ash, do you hear me? Please allow Xavier to join our party. And don't say that you are on a suicide mission. Whatever troubles you and Rain are facing right now, we face them together, as friends and comrades. Tell me us your location."

Psshhh...

The sound of train doors opening awoke the elf from his slumber. Blinking to restore his sight, Ren could see the colors and blurs coming together to form an image.

"Elder City" read the sign on a vertical I-beam. This was his stop. Rubbing the sleep from his eyes, he groggily got up from his seat and proceeded out the door. Behind him, the train whirred back to life and left the station with an iron roar.

Walking out the station, the elf surveyed the cityscape. The midday sun accompanied by the bright colors of the bricks and shops almost blinded him. It had been a long night, and the elf could hear his stomach grumbling like a whale.

He scanned the streets for a place to eat. His emerald eyes locked onto a sign that read "Lunch Special." He had found a restaurant. With almost robotic movement, the elf made his way to the restaurant and seated. Taking refuge in the cool and the shade, he waited, sipping the glass of water on the table.

Lara glanced at the elf that had entered the inn. He was...unorthodox to say the least, for a forest elf. That weapon was most intriguing, but she had nothing to do with it. Strangers didn't mean anything as long as they stayed like that man: silent and away from her and her boon.

"Thanks for the bread." exclaimed Airi as she took the bread from Lara. She took a bite of it, noting the dryness and the subtle sour taste of it.
"I'm... A martial artist, I guess? I don't exactly know what you would call it here." Replied Airi.
She noticed a forest elf that walked into the inn. His behavior was rather strange for an elf, or maybe he's just lonely.
Standing up, Airi waved him over.
"Want to sit with us?"

Ash
Ash sighed.
"Nothing changes Ash HAHA!" Ares said in a haughty manner.
"I'm right above Rain in the Shadow Forest." Ash said as he descended down next to Rain. "Having an ally I can trust my back to is more than enough payment for the debt Rain. So stop being a child and accept it." Ash said as he raised his shield to block the giant tree's ground smash. "Go. I won't take your kill, but I will protect you."

Lara clicked her tongue. This girl was unpredictable, but, maybe that would be her downfall.
"I see." She said as she took a spoonful of her meal. It tasted like it had been cooked by the gods, but that was just her tastebuds getting used again to normal food. "I think I'm not familiar with your region, but mind telling me how you use those weapons of yours? Not a full explanation, just a quick summary. I'd like to know the fighting capacities of my comrades."She said coldly.

She glanced again at the elf, waiting for his reaction. Who was he? He had a strange aura emanating from him, but his mana...smelled like the purest delicacy she had the pleasure of having near. As expected, bottled mana wasn't a good solution. To erase her gluttonous thoughts, she gulped the mana potion until only a quarter was left. She would need to buy more of those later.

Mulling over the girl's question, Ren figured that there really wasn't a choice. His cover was already blown. Taking his small water cup, he moved to the table with the two girls. He eyed them curiously and nodded politely to them, before picking up the menu and silently browsing the items. He never was one for contact with others, not even in childhood.

"A forest elf in Ruben and another in Elder...How interesting." She murmured as she continued to eat. "Your race seems to have been travelling a lot these days."
"She stared at the Forest elf, waiting for his reaction, but visibly, he wasn't too interested in chatting. She looked at Airi and coughed before eating in silence.

"Why is silence bothering me now, of all times?" She thought

"Weapons, hmm... Well it's basically twin knife techniques with some... Martial art techniques? As for the chain Scythes... Well, that's a secret!" Puffed Airi. She took another bite of the bread and tried some rabbit stew. Weird food, she noted.
Airi turned to the mysterious forest elf that joined them. Smiling, she tried starting a conversation.
"Hello! What's your name?"
MementoDei MementoDei LegenDarius LegenDarius

"...Call me Steele," Ren muttered. He knew from experience not to divulge things so easily. Even something as trivial as his name. Mentioning towards a waiter, he ordered a Number 9 large.

He turned to the lavender-haired woman and replied with a simple "Yes." He could sense an eerie aura out of her. He dared not meet her eyes; just being close to her was making his skin crawl.

"I see. That could be very useful. You must be a skillful warrior" She replied calmly at Airi before turning back to the elf in front of her.

That man was visibly disturbed by her, it was a double-edged sword, depending on that man's strength. It was hard for her to analyze his power without wanting to deplete him from his unique source for life, but she could guess he had to be at least as powerful as Airi.

It was still strange that she hadn't felt the urge to kill Airi as she entered. With her power, she would be as tempting as that Elf, but maybe her taste for mana had changed as she had taken more victims.

"I'm Lara and this girl right next to me is Airi. It's rare to see elven travellers, I'm just surprised by it. Don't take it badly" She said warmly as she smiled vaguely at the new "guest".

"Nice to meet you," Ren politely replied. Lara was inviting enough, but experience taught him that things were almost never as they seem. Especially not when she emitted such an unnerving vibe. Ren covertly gazed down at the reader on his arm, which was hidden under the table. Lara had illusion magic on right now.

Biggest red flag so far... thought Ren in his mind. He knew not to speak much. Matter of fact, he wanted badly to run, but the situation pinned him to that chair. The waitress finally came with his order, placing a hearty plate in front of him. After saying grace, he began to eat his meal.

Rain
She did not remember the elk having this much stamina. And she was very, very tired.

Who knows how long she's been dancing around this beast, throwing dagger after dagger. Its wounds send dark blood all over the forest floor, but the elk looks even more pissed off than when she snatched the bunch of mushrooms from its branch.

Then Ash appears in front of her in his armor, giving her a light scolding. Rain wishes she could talk back like her counterpart.

"T-thank you, Ash."

She lightly twirls in place, and lets loose a clear, solid note.

Her attack pushes forward as she struggles to keep the note in pitch. Her throat hurts from the strain of breathing, but she doesn't let up. The note collides with the tree elk, and it finally falls to its knees.

She summons an array of steel petals behind her, and with a determined frown on her face, she fires them.

"Steel Symphony!"

The attack pushes the monster back with staggering force. It groans out distortedly until the light inside of it flickers out and the tree falls backwards. With an exhausted sigh, Rain too falls to the floor, her throat hoarse.

"I-I told you to stay away...why did you come here...?"

Ash
Ash looked down at her picking her up. "Come on lets go home." Ash said as steel wings formed on his armor's back side. "The mana load is always heavy huh. Well at least it's not stamina." Launching off the ground Ash soared up into the air.
"Now to answer your question. You are an important...person to me okay. I don't need the debt payed with money, having an ally like yourself by my side is more than enough...and...personally I enjoy you being around." Ash boldly said as he flew towards the direction he could sense Rena.
"Your second personality understands what I mean...probably." Ash said as a nod to the other Rain.

Ash then pulled up the party system.
"Receptionist please register Xavier into the party." Ash asked via the mental link between adventures and the guild.

"Your request has been granted."

As they ran, Rena picked up bits and pieces of the conversation between Ash and Rain as they fought against their opponent. When she confirmed that the two were victorious, she slowed to a stop.

"Oh, it looks like I didn't need to worry about them after all. They're heading back now."

She could roughly sense her party members' locations, meaning that they were relatively close to them. Looking around, she noticed a nearby sign that stated that they were in a village called 'Elder.'

"Wow, I guess we ran pretty far."

She took one look at Xavier's hair and burst out laughing. It was a mess.

Elesis

The battalion of Velder soldiers arrived at the gate of Elder.

"Make camp outside the city!" She said before letting out a sigh. They have brought enough food with them to last the entire battalion months. But even then, all the traveling and rapid movement is taking a toll on the men and herself as well. Not to mention... She is really in the mood for a drink and some good food. The dry army rations were not enough to please her appetite.

"Hey Penensio! Come over here!"
Elesis whispered to her sub-commander. The rune knight rolled his eyes before walking to his superior.

"Yes ma'am?" He asked eyeing her closely. It's almost as if he was anticipate what she was about to say.

"Take care of the men, I'm going to grab a drink." She said smiling.

"Sigh...Stop giving me such an innocent smile... Try to be quick, I don't the men to know their commander is enjoying herself while everyone else is stuck eating lizard jerky."

"I know, I know! I'll be right back!"
She said dashing back to her private tent. In there, she took off the white jacket she usually worn and striped herself before changing into a white dress. She quickly combed her hair, the days of traveling roughed up her hair and cowlicks were poking out everywhere. Gosh, I really do have pineapple hair now... I hope I don't get seen by anyone... I'll never hear the end from Penensio.

Elesis made her way to the city's best known bar. She walked in and was greeted by a rather quite environment for a drinking pub. A few people were scattered around the tables looking rather laid back. She strode gracefully to the bar counter trying to fit her elegant dress up.

"I want one part orange juice, one part Vodka, two part Scotch. And I would like some rabbit stew platter please." The bartender got to work. Sitting relatively close to Elesis was a group of three people, that looked like adventurers. She doesn't want to eavesdrop, but she was curious at what an unusual bunch they were. The one with long brown hair was strangely emitting an unpleasant aura, a elf that seemed like he just met them recently, and there was a child playing with a mug?

Elesis's drink was presented in front of her and she took slow sips while watching the trio out of the corner of her while waiting for her stew.

Rain
His arms felt nice. She forces herself to take deep breaths to calm her beating heart, but her throat protests, sending her into a fit of light coughs. She materializes a water bead and pops it into her mouth.
"If only my abilities can be unlocked, you wouldn't have so much of a problem."

"I'd forgotten how limited my skills are. Until we unlock the rest of Prima Lotus's skills, I might have to rely on others for damage. How did I manage to get to Ruben by myself?"

"You're just now asking that?"

She hears Ash telling her about how he didn't need the money in order to repay him and perks up when she learns that he enjoys her company. Her other self laughs in her head as her blush grows.

"Y-you're a nice person too, Ash."

Leaning back onto his arms, Rain looks down onto the forest. The dark atmosphere still bothers her, causing her to shift uncomfortably.

"Thank god...I killed it before the others could join...Rena...wouldn't make it in there."

Ash
Ash stopped for a second. "I'll do what I must." Breathing in Ash channeled his magical power. "Ares begin the absorption of the calamity." Ash said as Ares materialized in front of him.
"I don't know if your body can take it so we'll do this part of the forest. Let's begin." Summoning a sword of fire Ares and Ash put one hand on the handle each as a rich fire burst into the sky, little flashes of fire rained down like snow in the winter. "Peace implemented. Beginning the Absorption of Calamity. Limit 34%" Ash and Ares voices became united as the hilt of the sword began to absorb the calamity in the forest. The Area regaining a little bit of it's original green with a hint of shadows. Ash began to groan a little. "Absorption Limit reached." The moment the limit was reached Ash let go of the sword as Ares and the sword vanished. Ash was a little shakened up. "I'm....still not used to it." Ash said as he returned to flying.

"...my hair," Xavier said, having a blank stare at Rena's laughing. He can feel it when it's out of place and Komodo went ahead to even ruin it more by tugging the hair strands in different ways. "H-hey," Xavier grumbled, his cheeks turning red as he swatted the mischievous dragon away. He tried to fix it on his own then, grumbling quietly. "So the two of them are safe? That's a relief," Xavier said, managing to get his hair right yet a few strands were still out of place.

Oblivio

It was as if Henir's voice was echoing throughout his head. Everything will return to nothing. The truth had never been simpler. Demon world, Elrios, Elf World, and any other dimensions, he would be responsible for erasing all of them to nothing just as Henir planned.

He followed Dust for now.
