Xavier wasn't sure how to answer the question. He stared down at his food to think about it.

"...I guess I'll feel strange. Out of place. I'll feel like something is missing, even if it's closely similar. I would want to go home...yet at the same time, I want to explore around, see what is exactly different about the world. See if there is a possible chance that...the world is a better place to be in compared to the other one," Xavier answered, fiddling around with his food before he started to take bites. "I guess both scared and curious."

Rain

"I see..."

It takes her a while to gather her confidence.

"I'm not from this world. I come from a different dimension of Elrios."

She continues on, but in her mind, she didn't know how to word it properly.

"How would you feel if there's someone else living inside of you? Someone who is the same person as you, but from another life?"

Rain decides to test out her two voices to see if Xavier can notice the difference.

"Do you hear me?"

"Do you hear me?" her other self says after her.

Xavier's brows shot up but he did his best to hide his surprise, unsure if Rain was discussing about herself or she figured out about Perkisas dwelling in him. Yet again, he and Perkisas aren't really so alike so that may not be the case.

"Hmm...strange questions you're asking, but I would feel annoyed for them pestering through my thoughts. That is like the first thing they have access to, and...perhaps sad, knowing that there was a life you haven't lived through but reminded about it every once in awhile," Xavier said. "Is...there someone inside you?" He questioned, staring at her in slight curiosity.

After Rena explored the top deck, she went downstairs and began roaming around on the ship's lower deck. She found herself in an area with multiple rooms, which she assumed was the residence area. She reached a dead end and was about to head back when an idea popped into her head. Giggling under her breath mischievously, she pushed open one the door to one of the rooms and entered.

"Excuse me~ I'm just going to take a little look around~"

She scanned the room with interest. The resident seemed to be a very tidy person, as the room was spotless and organized. Rena walked around the room looking for things she could play around with. A photo frame caught her eye. She walked over to the desk it sat on and picked it up. The photo inside the frame was half burned.

"This picture... why does it feel so familiar?"

She turned to back of the photo frame. A few words were written in the bottom right corner.

Is this the ancient elf language? There shouldn't be anyone that still remembers the ancient language in this day and age. It's slightly different than the modern language... There's a bit of demon language incorporated into this message as well.

Rena fell into deep thought as she examined the words on the back of the photo frame. She didn't notice that the door to the room had opened a second time.

"Nice to meet you, Xavier. I'm Rain."

"I'm also Rain," the original Rain cuts in.

Looks like he can't distinguish between the two. A shame, but it's okay.

"It was a bit weird at first, having someone like her take over my body and embarrass me in my head. That outburst that night was caused by her. But she's a good person."

"Welp, now I don't have to seduce the boy now."

"I told you that you're not allowed to do that anyway."

"You weren't complaining when I did it with Ash-!"

"Quiet!"

Hearing his name really hurts now. Rain turns away from Xavier and nibbles on her food.

"A-anyway, how about you, Xavier? Is there someone hiding inside of you? There's something...different about you."

It had been easy to convince him, but his situation was definitely not a winning one. He had a few powerful allies, but how long would that alliances last? For her, it was simply temporary, and so would be for Henir's disciple knew the elf's objective.
"First of all, I don't want to follow you everywhere. I have some unfinished business. However, as proof of my good faith in you..." She said before taking the horn that was held as a necklace. " you can keep this. It'll serve as a secure means of communication, but speak in our common language for once. With this, you'll know where I am and I can report whatever useful Intel I find to you. Secondly, if we ever reach that point in your revolution, Ran will die by my hands and Resiam will be left at my care. All good? I won't leave for now. I'll let you some time to consider it. Meanwhile, I'll be around and explore this ship."

Then, she went away and walked downstairs, opening a door and found the corrupted elf looking at a picture.

"Oh, hello. Don't mind me, ehm... miss. Corruption." She said before sitting down on a couch at the back of he room. She felt tired for once.

Xavier stared at her longer, amused. Though when Ash was mentioned, he didn't dare to let his amusement get the better of him. He went back to his food once she asked another question.

"...It's funny because I knew there was something strange about you and I guess I was right. As for your last question...I guess it's fair to answer it since you told me about your secret. Yes, there is someone hiding inside me...and I have an assumption that I am not part of this dimension too, because of him," he mumbled, starting to finish up his food. Xavier stayed quiet for a moment, not hearing any sort of objection from Perkisas as he was aware that the beast was listening. "Since you are from a different dimension...I wonder...is the name Perkisas familiar to you?"

As she left he massaged his eyes once more. Dealings like these were always a headache for him. He wasn't for the bartering kind after all, he was taught how to fight. Fighting with words was still strange for him after all these years.

Still, he got something from his troubles. An ally that could be very beneficial to him and a means to communicate with, though speaking their common language was a hassle, not many chances to practice that speech anyways.

Deciding that maybe a small nap would make wonders to him he went to the cabin that Add was steering and tapped his shoulder.

"I'm going to take a small rest. You good for a few hours?" He asked the tracer.

"Few hours? No problem on my side." He replied quickly while continuing to steer the ship.

"Oblivio, do what you want for the time being. Rest, have a talk with Add, you name it." He ordered tiredly while moving towards his room. Only to see his new ally sitting on his couch and the corrupted elf messing with his stuff. "What the heck are you doing!? Who said you could touch other peoples stuff!" He quickly grabbed his photo and sack bag. "You better didn't do anything to it." He angry said while heading out. "The both of you can have my room. I'm taking the soldier beds. I sleep better there anyways."

Perkisas? Rain thinks for a moment.

"Unfortunately, no. My knowledge is limited to Elrios and its inhabitants. I'm to assume that he's within you, right?"

She then feels her other self take over.

"Xavier, have you ever dealt with betrayal before?"

"Rain!"

"It's okay...we dragged him into this mess, so we might as well spill everything that we know."

"Yeah, he is here within me..." Xavier nodded his head, not sure if it was fine to leave out the part that Perkisas is a greedy, evil dragon. Xavier can hear the dragon chuckling in his head before going back to his slumber. He blinked at the next question and thought about it. "Hm...besides Rena suddenly become corrupted? Not sure if that's betrayal...it wasn't on purpose by her, but yeah, besides that then...no. I haven't." He was curious where Rain was going with this.

Rena raised her hand up innocently when the boy snatched the photo frame out of her hands. She waited till he closed the door before bursting out into laughter.

"Yup, he's still a kid."

She headed toward the door, waving at the dark priestess sitting on the couch.

"You can have this room. I don't like to make it a habit to sleep with others."

She wandered down the hallway with her eyes closed until she sensed a strong presence behind one of the doors further down. Chuckling, she pushed the door open and pretended to be surprised as she walked in on the same boy who had just left the previous room.

"Oops, sorry. I was looking for an empty room. Sorry to bother you again~"

She made a move to close the door and paused.

"Oh, right. That half burnt picture. Did you write the words on the back? I'm just asking out of curiosity."

"For the love of Samael! Yes! I wrote those letters! Now give me a break, corrupted elf! I'll have a talk with you soon enough."

*Clink*

"What? You sure?*

"So I didn't imagined that feeling. What's in it for you even? Or is ransacking peoples goods something new for you?" He asked with suspicion. She trailed him, specifically him, and she knew exactly where he was. That's a corrupt elf alright.

Silently, he stayed where he was and kept watch over his brother. He might be able to help if needed. Other than that, learning what happened to his brother after he was abandoned on the streets would be ...optimal. But then his brother--who doesn't know who he is--will probably not say it.

"Hmm~? I don't know what you are talking about. I just happened to walk into your room twice by accident. You can't possibly think that I did it on purpose, do you? After all, I'm just a corrupted elf. I won't bother you anymore so good night, Mr. Demon General~"

Rena smiled innocently over her shoulder as she continued to close the door. There was a hint of sadness in her eyes as she watched the boy slowly disappear from her sight.

So he was the one who wrote those words... as expected from a demon general, I suppose.

"Now hold your tongue right there, elf. I've got a few questions, specially that fake smile that you're carrying right now." He called her out, while telling Samael to bind her in place.

"You're going to respond to my questions, one by one. Don't try to lie to me, Samael knows when you lie and right now he doesn't like you very much. Actually, he said that he knows you in a very personal level. That hint of sadness, that's the kind of sadness when you've lost something or missing someone. Why did you look at me like that?" He threatened her as he was very suspicious of her. The scars of betrayal burned in his body and his charred hands and feet were different.

As Add steered the wheel, he noticed that the Henir's disciple still hung around. It wasn't that much of a deal a few minutes back, but now the silence was making him uncomfortable.

"If you have something to talk, just speak up! You're creeping me out..." He called him out as he ordered his dynamos to bring him something to drink.

Ren nodded solemnly at the crying girl. As he was turning he caught a glimpse of a boy, probably her boyfriend, coming to meet her.

Ren holstered his rifle and woke up the sleeping Airi. "Hey... It's time to go. There are people here and I don't think they'd take to kindly if I were to go hunting for breakfast now. Let's go get breakfast in Elder."

He felt awkward. He didn't usually start conversations, or do them in general. Not being able to select a suitable topic, he averted his eyes and bit his lip in thought. Old habits died hard, he guessed.

His drones whirled around in confusion.

"So innocent of the world...I envy you and my other self. I've been betrayed by everything: from elves to priestesses, emissaries to goddesses."

She can vividly recall each and every one of those horrible times. How her party fell apart...

How she died.

"Rain, it's okay...please, for your sanity, don't remember those things."

Rain finishes her food quickly and stands up to fix her dress.

"Xavier, I know that you do not take too kindly to me, but I have a request to ask you."

She extends a hand to him.

"Our end goals are different. I wish to go back to my dimension, but I'll need help finding a way. You wish to travel the world, yes? If it's okay with you, I wish to continue traveling with you until then. I'll also answer any questions you have related to me or my world."

Rena made no attempt to resist when the chains wrapped around her. She was expecting such a response, after all.

"Samael, huh. He has my thanks for watching over you all this time."

She smiled at the chains binding her. This time, there was no sarcasm behind her words as she was truly thankful to the chains. One of her eyes momentarily turned yellow before it returned to a dark shade of purple. She smirked at the boy.

"There's no need to be so rough, you know. I'll answer your questions if you release me."

"Sorry, girl. But it's my terms for me to ask. Besides, I'm not being rough, it's him. Because he knows something that I don't, and it's connected to you. Now answer my question, why the hell did you looked at me like I'm a ghost. Otherwise, I'll just have to ask him to start crushing you." He warned her, while keeping a close eye on her facial expression.

Add looked on the reflection and saw him biting his lip while averting his gaze.

"Heh, that's funny. You remind me of someone close that used to do that." He said, still feeling a bit weird with the guy. "Those drones, they look like an upgraded version of my dynamos. Where did you learn something like that?"

Xavier stared at the hand, pondering quietly. He does need to travel, and for sure he needs to do it with someone at the very least. He closed his eyes for a moment before gently placing his hand on her's, being careful with the gauntlet's claws. "Alright. In truth, I look forward to it. ...Perhaps we can find a way to get Rena and Ash back. That would be nice," Xavier said, hoping he didn't hurt her for mentioning Ash. He went ahead to stand up, using her hand for support.

She smiles at his answer. It looks like she doesn't have to travel alone again!

"Thank you Xavier! I'll help out however I can."

"Bring Ash and Rena back huh...? I wonder if we can do it..."

"We have to try. If there's anything that might get in the way of us traveling back to our world, we have to deal with it."

"We also can't let anyone or anything here end up into our world."

"Oh, about the reward, can you give me my portion? I'm fine if you want to take the majority of it."

Rain hops onto the lake and starts to glide back towards Elder. She has to start gathering information about anything related to other dimensions. Pursuing anyone related to Henrir would be a good start...

"Remember that we can't involve Xavier anymore than we have to."

"Yes, I know."

Rena... is she still making me hold back against this kid? What is he to her anyways? I have the same memories as her but I don't feel anything. Yet my body is responding on its own right now...

The dark elf's eyes widened slightly.

It can't be! Is she still... I'm sure I took complete control over her body and mind! Why is she still- Is it... the boy?

This time, she caught herself in time before she revealed her thoughts on her face.

Khh... I need to get away from this boy before she regains control over this body. I'll play along until I find a chance to escape.

She heaved a sigh and shrugged helplessly.

"Fine, fine, I'll talk. I know about your past. From the way you act towards me right now, it seems that you lost your memory and don't recognize me. Am I right?"

"Yeah, don't worry, I already separated divided up the money evenly."

Xavier followed after her, but just around the lake. He whistled out in the forest in which Komodo returned back, the dragon licking his lips as if he just got back from a meal. Xavier quietly noted to himself that he needs to keep an eye on Komodo around this time. He is afraid that the dragon might end up eating something that isn't supposed to be food. Komodo look around to see Rain and let out a low growl, causing Xavier to swat his hand at the snout. Komodo reared back at the swat from Xavier, frowning yet he didn't growl again.

"If Komodo starts to throw tantrums at you, please let me know. I'm sure he'll get comfortable with you soon enough though," Xavier said to Rain, Komodo looking up at Xavier with a stare of a pouty child. He held out the portion of the money to Rain. "The next town should be...Bethma. You want to stay in Elder for a bit to check around before moving out?"

"I think it's because your dragon doesn't appreciate strangers dragging them into dangerous situations without warning, but I'll try my best to earn his trust."

The healer accepts the money from him and drops the sack into her bag. She lets herself enjoy the breeze as she glides across the lake.

"That would be nice. I must gather whatever information I can and probably change my clothes."

She laughed nervously until she realized what her only spare change of clothes is.

"Oh no."

"Oh yes. We have no other choice, Rain~"

"N-No!! Never!! I'll buy new clothes!"

"Do you really want to drag Xavier through another day of shopping? I'm sure he's raring to move on from this blasted town."

Rain lets out a pathetic groan. How did this happen? She swears that any free time they get, she's whipping out the sewing kit.
