Fantasy [Private] El Stories

Ren returned and saw that Airi had been keeping the fire. He put the new fish onto the impromptu grill and began seasoning it as it cooked. It wasn't anything special; just a standard mix of salt and pepper. But the fish turned out delicious.

After Ren finished eating, he felt the food coma coming on and decided that now was a good time to sleep. He found a good patch of grass and laid out a sleeping bag. He said goodnight to Airi and crawled into it. He quickly fell asleep under the gaze of the stars.

"You're joking right? Why the hell would I bring you to the demon realm? You got no demonic ritual resistance, you have only just got corrupted by your own doubts and let's not forget that you've just abandoned you so called allies. Give me a good reason to take you with m-!" As he was about to ask for a reason, tremors broke loose and explosions were going off around the place.

"Oh no... No, no, no! Not now! The castle can't blow up now!"
Add from the room above yelled towards himself while trying to get video feed.

Most of them started to flee from the scene as debris started to fall from the ceiling.

"Dammit." Dust clicked his tongue as they were suspended for a short while thanks to the kid. "Oblivio, teleport us and the two remaining elves here to the ship! We're moving out now! Don't forget Add!"

"Add, you know what to do!" He called him out while rushing towards the bindings.

"On it!" He quickly pumped the power of the core reactor and inputted the commands to start making the ship fly. "How are the bindings!?"

"They're off! Put us up in the air!" With that call done, the ship started to stir and started to get elevation. Within minutes, they were away from the collapsing castle, away from harm.

"We made it! Ke ke ke! Ka ha ha ha!" Add just laughed it off, as he never been more at work than he did before.

"Oh boy..." Finally having a moment to relax, Dust sat down near the deck, releasing a tangled breath that he had. "I haven't forgotten about the two of you. We still need to talk."

He stared at Add, making sure he didn't suffer any wounds in the crumbling castle. They had escaped beforehand, but still, he worried. It ...was painful to think like this. He had once been such a worrying sibling when it came to Ed. It looked like he still hadn't cut all emotional ties...it was impossible for someone like him.

Lara was slightly impressed by the female elf's understanding of her native language. Either way, now that everyone was too occupied among themselves to notice her go into an invisible mode and take the Inspector's empty core. Once in her hands she noticed the rumbling of the laboratory. Now that was a huge problem, if the castle fell over them, she could already kiss goodbye to retrieving the amulet and the 40 million she promised to her companions. She didn't like it, but leaping through the window with the world's most incompetent "Captain" was the only way she managed to save herself.

"I haven't forgotten about the two of you. We still need to talk."

"Leave that talk for later, Mr. Oblivious. I need to claim something first." She coldly said before jumping out of the ship. She used a protective spell to fall unscathed and her speed allowed her to find Lenphad's revolutionary squadron in a matter of minutes, giving her enough time to activate her illusion spell again.

"Looks like you went a little overboard down there". said the veteran mercenary.

"Looks like the adventurers you sent before me are unable to keep themselves from wrecking everything they find."

The man scoffed and gave her the 15 million bounty in exchange of the empty core. She reassured him that the El shard was not in danger and left with the bag of gold in her hands. Once she was sure no one was seeing her, she deactivated her spell and used runic circles to jump back towards the fleeing ship where the corrupted elf, the child of Henir, a crazy kid and the other dark elf were. They were all eyeing her curiously as they saw the gold she carried.

"That's not for you. In any case, I believe you were talking to me a while ago. Was it even important?"

"Why would I care about that gold? I've got enough funds back at- Forget it. What I would like to talk about, is why the hell haven't you tamed Berthe's power yet? And most importantly, I want a favor to ask of you. Something among an alliance, if you want to call it that." He talked it up while taking tabs on the tracer that was finally calming down from the accumulated work.

"You think so? How interesting, you really aren't very observant. Or maybe it's because the human blood in your veins that you can't see it clearly. I don't mean it as an insult, it's just natural for hybrid elves like us to lose some of their ancestors' perception." She took a pause, thinking carefully on her words before continuing. "I don't think you're in a position to negotiate any solid alliance with me. Who're you anyway? A rookie? I doubt any of your higher-ups will guarantee you a fair alliance with one of their creations that escaped of her cage. I know at least one of them that wouldn't."

She glanced at the Henir's disciple she had given Ruben's shard to. It was almost certain in which hands it was by now, all things considered. Lara turned towards him and asked: "A disciple working under the demon flag? I wonder how many centuries have passed since Henir changed his passiveness. You certainly look like someone that could bring his objectives to success, the one who will complete another cycle."

"Indeed. Henir's goal will be realized, along with everyone who has sided with him," he said, choosing his words carefully. He didn't feel like saying repeating Henir's gospel when his brother was right there. If only Add had known who he really is, he'd be disappointed for sure.

"You would think that I'm not that observant, but how many years do you think I've spent with that wolf? You're using the bare minimum of his ice powers and strength. Heck, I'll even go on a loop that he's just giving you that little bit of compliance to not get caught. And don't speak about us being hybrids, if anything I'm on the short end of being a dark elf." He said as he massaged his eyes. "You said it, I'm in no position for any solid alliance with you, but I'm gonna need some outside help to get the higher ups to come down. Permanently, if possible.

Plus, you're in the better end of the deal in all honesty. Getting information from someone from the pentagram table, getting some knowledge on dark elf rituals and lastly, if you truly need, war funds from my side. I'd say I make a pretty good deal, especially if I know exactly what you were originally made for, how to take away the spell that Ran put on you and to tell you that I may know where the key to release the water that holds Resiam.

All I ask, is a bit of cooperation with a ghost. And if that doesn't convince you, maybe the slaves from when I was in Resiam can speak with you."
He pulled all cards in his deck. Having someone like her in his list of allies was instrumental. After all, what better way to get revenge than with the weapon that they failed to get rid of.

When Arya awoke, she found her wounds tended to, and the gash in her stomach stitched up. She also noticed that she was heavily sedated, as she was much too dizzy to sit up and eat. Instead, she let her drugged mind wander as she often would when in pain or under some form of medication. She thought about her dead master lying in his grave in the White Mist Swamp. The grumpy one armed man was rather rude and bitter, but he was a good person who taught her to fight. She curiously wondered about the holes in her memory, that never seemed to clear up as the years went by as her master surmised it would. She still couldn't remember where she was from and who her parents were. However, she quickly moved on from that train of thought. She didn't really care.

The door to her room opened and a woman introducing herself as Bethma's Sherriff let herself in, carrying a tray of food. Arya glanced once at the woman and made no attempt to sit up. Just trying to make a fist made her hand feel strange. She doubted she would be able to eat much, if at all, on her own.

"Oh, you're awake. Quite a surprise. I brought you something to eat." Stella replied, setting the tray down on the bedside table. It wasn't anything fancy, just a bowl of oatmeal, a slice of bread and some juice. "The drugs will wear off soon. Sorry if we used too much. You were quite the fighter. Fought off at least five nurses before we could get you tended to."

"Ah," Arya muttered with a slow nod. She could hardly keep up with what the woman was saying, in all actuality. Something about food, the drugs wearing off and something else Arya forgot. Must not have been important. She mentally shrugged it off. "M'hungry." Arya weakly replied, raising her hand weakly and pointing to the food. Stella chuckled lightly and pulled up a chair.

"You got a name?" The woman asked as she began to feed the young woman. Arya chewed slowly as she stared around the room.

"Arya. Val...tear." She answered between bites. Not much more was said until the girl was finished eating, however.

Lara scoffed at the elf's words. He was clearly underestimating her, but that didn't matter. She let him continue, her face growing more serious with each sentence. Slaves was a mild word to describe what they...no, what she turned them into. It had been her fault all along and there was only final wish she had, a wish that kept her soul seek for a tomorrow instead of overloading her power again and die for good. The deal sounded too good to be true, there was some kind of trap hidden beneath it, she was sure of it.

Talking with the ghosts or what little conscience remained from the shadow creatures she created was not what she needed to do. It had been enough to retain memories of the slaughter of the temple of water, the way she was forced to torture Sasha for information the priestess never gave. When Hamel's fall was near, Lara was the one who stabbed the White Colossus, submerging him into darkness. His son resisted, he was a pure soul, he could even stop his father from going completely insane. The boy was a hinder for the demons; she had to finish him. Chung Seiker was his name. She had stabbed him again and again until his last cry was choked by the blood coming out of his mouth. That was the first instant her conscience awoke, but she was drowned by other memories and nightmares to even think that what she had seen was part of reality.

This man was pretending he was against Ran, Karis and maybe the rest. Yet, he had obeyed them without remorse. It wasn't real, she knew the way to purify Resiam, to let the dead souls find peace. No one survived the Resiam attacks, not even her. She was simply brought back by the power of the Dark El, hence her title as the Dark Water priestess.

The elf was done talking and was waiting for her answer. She smirked again, knowing that he must be pretty desperate to reach for every lie possible to convince her.

" So you're saying that you're against the demons. That's unexpected. Why would you bite the hand of those who feed you?"

Fume Fume

Rena didn't expect the castle to suddenly come falling down. Luckily, the Henir discipline was kind enough to teleport her out with the demon general and the dark priestess. The two of them started up a conversation soon after they were out of harm's way so she just shrugged and began to explore the ship.

"You see, miss dark water priestess, the current state of the demon realm is... Dire, to say the least. And those higher ups are just thinking for themselves, thinking that it's the best for their kind. Conquering, killing and senseless destruction doesn't bring food nor water nor even the people from this world and that world back. Out of all of the five members, I'm the only one that is against them and the only one that cheats against them. Sure, I do a few jobs for them, but that's a cover up.

My true intention is bringing what little humility that they have into light. What little kindness they shared, but in order to do that, I need them out of the picture. I'm not against them, mind you, I'm against to what their convictions are. They don't see it because they're as corrupt as they can be, can't see that the poor are at their limit, can't see that their taking every little resource without seeing the consequences.

The land is at it's limit, and with the El crystal that they have, can't bring life, it can only corrupt it by being overuse, but that wasn't it's true purpose. These small El shards that I'm collecting, they won't be corrupted, because as I did jobs in this world, so did I salvaged a few trinkets that connect to these shards.

Currently for now, I have only enough manpower to gather 'slaves', but that's a ruse in itself. These 'slaves' are being kept in safety, giving everything they need for their needs. Food, water, a place to sleep, you name it.

In a way, out of all the chair holders, I'm the only one that grants a second chance to the people that I take and all the demons that wish to follow me. I have the least amount of military might, but the highest morale and the strongest feeling of renewal with my fellow demons.

Berthe was one of them and seeing him on you is enough for me to see that he's gotten the second chance that he needed."
He finished speaking while relaxing for a bit.

"You have every reason to doubt me, every reason to resent me and even to kill me. So, I'm giving you the chance to decide. I won't use the manipulation spell on you, but if you leave right now, we'll be enemies and some lowly demon out of my control can activate the spell on you. Just now that I'm giving you a chance to at the very least put the souls of your past at rest, and if you want revenge then it can be served and the true power of Berthe will be yours, free of charge."

Rain
She dreamed about her world. Where Rena was motherly and cautious. Where Elsword finally stopped being a total blockhead and treated Aisha like the idol that she was. Where Chung finally got to know Ara. Where Raven was able to move on from his past and honor it at the same time. It was a world that he created. The world that was so rudely taken away from her once before.

When she wakes up, she finds herself at the surface of the lake. Groggily looking around at her surroundings, she finds two people, an elf and a girl, sleeping some distance away.

"Were they the ones to disrupt my sleep last night...?"

The singer decides not to question them. There were more important things to do than to ask whether or not they interrupted her sleep because quite honestly...she should have expected that.

Instead, she soundlessly glides away from them towards a more secluded part of the lake. Once she was satisfied that no one would find her, she begins a dance while she waits for Xavier.

A lonely pas de deux.

Late Late

Xavier woke up from his slumber, grumbling low and rubbing his eyes. His body felt rested but his mind was jumbled up with added information. He slowly rise from his bed, surprised that Komodo had his head resting on his lap, stirring now that Xavier is awake.

Perkisas. That's a name he never heard before. From what the beast told him, he used to rain terror across the lands and steal many riches from the innocent. A dangerous, evil being. Though, the only memory missing was how he exactly got in Xavier. How his spirit and energy was sealed into a child. One thing for sure, Perkisas wasn't part of this dimension. Perkisas had some assumptions though, about a being named Glave. A masked man who is an administrator of Henir's Time and Space.

"Finding him would be rather hard...especially if we're this insignificant. But if we go back to my home...Ancient Ellian of this dimension...maybe we can pick up clues."

Perkisas told him about how Glave aided a group of heroes to take on his challenge in which Perkisas promised them gold and power if they passed. Yet Perkisas lied and attempted to finish them off until Glave stopped him from doing so. For sure, Glave wasn't the one who sealed him away, but the beast couldn't remember who it was. Perkisas believed he is being punished for going against his word. Xavier had a strange feeling he was in some relation with that group yet didn't ask for names from Perkisas.

As if now, Perkisas is resting and Xavier is awake and ready to start off his day. He made sure he had everything on him, especially the money and left the Inn with Komodo following. Xavier remember to check on Rain at Lake Noah. He went ahead to buy breakfast but had them packed, thinking that Rain would probably want something to eat.

He headed over to Lake Noah, viewing the nature around him and felt some sense of peace in the area. Xavier walked down to the lake and took a look around. He first spotted two individuals, sleeping nearby, yet no sign of Rain. After a couple of seconds of standing around, he start to walk around the lake, letting Komodo wander off on his own. He began to hum quietly a tune that he remembered when he was young.

Rain
Her other self is unusually quiet.

As she continues her lonely dance, Rain hums a bittersweet tune, one that sounded sweet until the same part repeats over and over and over again. Then it becomes desperate and longing. The singer doesn't notice she's crying as she leaps and spins across the lake.

Ren awoke to the sounds of splashing water. The first thing he noticed was that Airi didn't even bother to find her own spot; her head was on his lap. He smiled slightly and petted her. He slowly got out of his sleeping bag, careful not to wake her.

Standing up he went to the lakeshore. He saw a strange blur moving all across the lake. Grabbing his rifle, he peered down the scope to see the figure more clearly.

"What... What in the hell?" Ren muttered to himself seeing the strange girl ice-skating over the lake. He could make out the tears on her face as she danced. "Man girls are weird..."

Lara stared at the dark elf carefully, intrigued by his words. He was maybe nervous, his words sometimes contradicted themselves. Demons only thought about themselves, that was certainly true, but that elf was ignoring that the most basic elements of the gods' intention.

It wasn't something he would be supposed to know, but if Henir was on taking vigorous actions, the demon world would remain as he knows it, or as it has always been reverted to. The elf hadn't been the first to try and liberate the lower class demon kind from their chains, but all was brought back to a similar status quo once the cycle was over. This cycle would end in the void and the next in the light, for millennia this world had faced destruction and rebirth. Glewin's memories were proving more useful than before.

The dark elf also wasn't very bright at thinking about threats, but she frowned, to pretend to be offended. Why that man continued to think she hadn't control of Berthe's soul was beyond her understanding, but making a deal seemed reasonable just to get faster to Resiam and kill Ran with her own hands. Finally, she sighed.

"I was clearly wrong for assuming you were as bad as your superiors, your goals are indeed very noble. Worthy of your lineage, if I may add. It seems we have some common goals here, so I'll take on your offer if you agree on my conditions. I mean, you come to me with a reasonable but risky offer, I believe I need some compensation for my troubles; it's only fair, don't you think so?"

Lara looked him in the eye and waited for his answer.

Xavier stopped for a moment when he heard the water being splashed and skidded. He even noticed the ripples and he eventually make his way further down of the lake. That is when he finally find her, dancing on the lake's surface. He was caught off guard to see her crying.

"Rain?" Xavier called out, unsure if he made a mistake for bothering her.

"Great to know that you're thinking of accepting, maybe it'll be worth release the power bind that the higher ups put on Berthe's body. Speak your mind, if it's something that I can do within my power, than I'll probably can do." He responded back glad to know that a new ally was about to be made.

"You think that's a smart idea, hybrid? She's smarter than she looks you know." Add pointed out while steering the ship.

"Better than trying to incite the higher ups. They'll probably lock me up for even thinking that." He told his informant back.

"!!!"

She instantly stops once she hears her name. Xavier seemed shocked at her, and it was only then did she realize that she had tears running down her cheeks. Rain hastily wipes them away.

"Xavier." Despite being out of breath and crying, her voice is even, normal.

"There's someone else here."

Finally spotting the elf with the rifle in his hand, the singer turns to address him.

"I'm sorry if I disturbed you. Can you please clear the area so that I can talk to my comrade privately?"

Xavier stared at the elf who had his rifle out but he felt like the elf meant no harm.

"Sorry for interrupting your...dance," he mumbled to Rain, scratching the back of his head. Again, a nervous habit of his. Xavier wasn't sure how to react with people crying, only since he never cried himself. It was true, he never had anything to cry about. He never had something so important being taken away from him so easily. It must of hurt, badly. "I...brought breakfast."

"Oh umm...thank you."

She accepts the meal with a heavy heart. Sitting down next to her comrade, Rain takes slow, small bites out of her food.

"Hey, Xavier, can I ask you a few things?"

Not waiting for the boy to respond, she continues talking.

"How would you feel...if you end up in a world so similar...and yet so different?"
