Fantasy [Private] El Stories

"Don't order me around..." Xavier grumbled in slight annoyance, unsure what Dust wanted from the inspector. For sure he didn't jump in because he worried for their safety but it was for something else.

He heard him shouting about a "weak point". Xavier trained his focus back on the inspector before he moves back in. The inspector seems to be so busy with everyone else that it nearly missed Xavier who was closing in.

"Precision Flare!"

Xavier aimed his hands toward the inspector and flames erupted at his palms, aiming for the armor plates that it still had on. The inspector attempted to block the attack but reared away as its arms seem to be overheating from too much heat that has been passing through. Xavier pressed on against the inspector, watching how the armor plates seem to burn and weaken away thanks to the fire. He didn't drop any warning about the rise of room temperature, as it was getting uncomfortably hot. Though he was fine with it, it didn't bother him.

Hmph, nosy people. Can't they just mind their own business?

The dark elf looked around at the darkness around her. She was back within her mind.

Give my body back.

A ball of pure El energy appeared before the elf and materialized in the form of the forest elf.

Why? So you can go out there and save your so-called friends? With your weak abilities?

You are the dark energy my body absorbed from the forest in Ruben, is that correct?

Not quite. I am not the dark energy itself. I am a part of your conscious that was changed due to presence of dark energy. You do know what happens when a pure existence is corrupted, right?

... She is forsaken by the goddess and left to the mercy of the darkness within her.

Correct. What a nice patron, she is, abandoning her worshipers to evil. Those two dark elves out there are the perfect example.

The dark elf waved her hand and a monitor appeared beside her. Scenes of the outside event were played on the screen.

Dust...

Oh, yes. That exiled brother of yours. Your village chased him out at such a young age, and for what reason? Just because he was a dark elf. How did you even manage to stay in such a corrupted village for so long?

... I...

Embrace the darkness. Allow me to take revenge against that bastard goddess. Accept my power and give your body and will to me.

... I refuse.

Why?

I don't seek for revenge. All I want to do is to be able to protect those around me.

Look how well that turned out for your family. Are you still going to go believing that stupid comrades business? Let me repeat myself. You are weak. No matter how you look at it, you are not needed.

... Then are you strong?

Of course. Darkness is always stronger than light. You seem to think that once I take over your body completely, your conscious will disappear. It won't. I am a part of your conscious as much as you are now. Neither of us will be expelled any time soon.

... I will agree on one condition.

Speak.

You will not harm the people I care about.

Fair enough. Do we have a contract?

For now.

With the contract in place, the dark elf left her conscious and returned to the battlefield. Sitting up, she broke the ropes binding her and stretched her body.

"Mmm~ That was a nice nap. Now then, what should I do~ Should I help or should I play the bad guy~"

She licked her lips in anticipation as she watched the group struggle in vain against the Nasod Inspector.

Lara smirked before continuing to speak in the elf's native language as she set a runic circle around the Inspector. It was stopped from attacking since her previous runes had been sipping away its mana. To her dismay, it was strong but as flavourless as the one she drank from mana flasks.

"Aye, Captain oblivious. I wonder, will you stop the greater danger here or you're only good to order people around while you ignore the real problems?" She stated in a mocking tone as she pierced the Nasod abdomen; her blade absorbed a small part of Xavier's flame power. It made a small hole in the armour but a fire explosion tore the opposite side of the armour away. Lara dashed to the other side, changing the flaming power to a freezing one and the mere shockwave Xavier's attacks were producing shattered away the heavy steel plates. Steele's shot managed to damage the last remains of the front armour.

"Lizard kid, get out of here if you want to keep yourself alive." Lara coldly said to the armoured teen who was melting down the remains of the Steel colossus' armour. He was not listening, probably out of pure annoyance at being ordered around. Instead, she forced him out of the magical circle by casting a powerful wind spell that pushed him out. The awakening of the corrupted elf was bothering her. She wouldn't be able to react in time if it decided to attack her. At least, she had a meat shield before it reached her.

"Captain oblivious, you have less time that you think to figure out where the danger here is."

Changing the power to an electrical one, Lara stabbed the inspector's head brutally, blasting its single crystal eye to pieces that made minor cuts to her arms. The Nasod tried to overload its El core to counter her and release the yellow orbs of pure energy, but it was its fatal mistake. The excess energy powered the thunderbolts that began to rain inside the magic circle she created, frying every circuit and turning the power of the machine off. There was still a spark of power left in it, but she was growing weak again and releasing a seal again for a dying piece of technology when such a powerful dark being had awoken was pure suicide.

She leapt back and formed a weak barrier around her as she glanced at the pink-haired elf. Unconsciously she smirked vaguely before answering to the corrupted soul.

"Good and evil shouldn't mean a lot as long as you get what you want, don't you think so?"

Lara glanced at the chain man and shrugged
"Time's up, Captain. You're worthless at decision making. I hope you're only a minor soldier, it would justify this poor judgement of the situation"

Rain
"Rain, are you stable enough to give us support?"

It takes her counterpart a while to answer.

"Yes...I should be fine."

The Inspector attempts to drop explosives from the sky again. This time, they were dark blue ones that fell down faster. The other Rain summons forth an array of daggers and sends them towards the explosives, detonating them and absorbing their damage before it could hurt the others.

"Illusion Disperser."

She switches back and starts to sing when a blast of heat hits her body. Seeing Xavier melt the armor of the Inspector made her relax a bit. Fire did suit him more than ice.

As she continues to sing, Rain finds that girl who sapped her mana stab the Inspector in the eye viciously, effectively bringing him to the brink of destruction. She says something to the transformed Rena, which caused her other self to growl again.

"Calm down, Rain. I understand how you feel..."

"I want to say that you don't, considering that you never went through what I did...but you do feel the emotions whenever I do..."

She continues to do her duty, hoping that when it's all over, her other self won't cause any trouble.

"Heal the others, they need it the most!" He hopped back up and noticed the priestess made the right attack where it counted. "Focus fire on the abdomen, it's weaker there than anything else! Cut the bastard in half!" He pointed out as he made a sprint towards the machine that was releasing smoke from the different attacks.

"Be careful, though! Once the armor and legs are gone it'll become much more aggressive! Keep an arms length away from it's arm and the cannon, it'll fire concentrated energy in any space in bursts!" He warned them before punching the damaged abdomen further, revealing the wires and weaker plate.

"One problem at a time. Can't multi task with the inspector and that one over there." He thought to himself before jumping out of an attack from the Inspector.

Xavier let out an irritated sigh as he suddenly was pushed aside but took this chance to recover. He realized how close they were to taking it out and sensed the El Shard in the machine.

"It won't be long that awakening will end. Im surprised you can handle this much power, Little Fire. I assumed the flames will be quick to burn your soul into ashes...Use this chance to run, just like the girl said. You may have a share of my powers but you're a mortal human who can get hurt if you aren't so careful."

Xavier closed his eyes for a moment and he grabbed out a mana potion. He drank it up and felt the celestial beast being curious.

"Im not going to run away. Not yet at least. I want something out of this," Xavier said.

"I heard that you're getting paid handsomely for just destroying the inspector. What else could you possibly want?"

Xavier didn't answer him as he took in a deep breath and focused on the inspector to find the right chance to get back in as he was rather in a safe distance. If anyone would bark at him, he would merely ignore them. He waits for his chance.

Rena waved merrily at the dark priestess when she looked over at her. She pretended to think for a while, glancing at the blue-haired healer at the corner of her eye. She was amused by the amount of hatred emitting from the girl. She replied to the dark priestess with a smirk, imitating her choice of language.

"That is true. You and I are the same kind, after all."

Leaving the priestess to interpret what she meant on her own, Rena turned to the Nasod Inspector and grinned evilly. In a flash, she was out of the sidelines and beside the giant Nasod. Her eyes twinkled in excitement as a dark aura enveloped her legs. The Inspector loomed over her, threatening to flatten her into a pancake but she pushed off from the ground just in time, gracefully dodging the slow blob of metal. She moved swiftly, seemingly dancing around the Nasod as she kicked various weak points in its armor, dealing multiple debuffs that slow it down. She finished with a drill kick to the Nasod's stomach, causing a few cracks to appear in the core. Clicking her tongue, she hopped backwards and sat on a piece of debris with her elbow on her crossed legs.

"Just a bit of support. I slowed down his movement and broke a few of his wires. His attack power should have lowered quite a bit so entertain me some more, weaklings~"

Arya dragged her tired and body into a town as she sucked through her teeth, nursing a bloody gash across her stomach with one arm. She had been taught that Lizardmen were dangerous, but she hadn't really known just how serious of a threat they were until she was surrounded on all sides and had to fight for her life. Her other hand dragged the battered dual weapon behind her as she limped into the square, the eyes of the townsfolk on the blonde girl that looked worse for wear.

"Are you all right, miss?" A voice called out, but Arya had no strength to answer. Instead, she simply stopped, gasped out in pain as she looked around at the swimming world around her, then fainted on the spot. For a long moment no one moved or said a word, but eventually, the girl was picked up and moved into an infirmary, where her injuries were tended to and patched up.

Ash
He was in a dark zone...he couldn't hear himself, only the rattle of chains as he tried to move. "You'll be set free soon boy. But you won't be able to leave this world of mine. You'll be stuck here in this darkness for a long long time." Ishmael said as she ran her hands along the chains. Ash just kept looking down. What Ishmael didn't know what that Ash had his mind in his world training to break free from his prison. "My body may belong to you Ishmael, but my mind doesn't." Ash said.

Ren watched the rest of the people there attack the Nasod Inspector, knocking off armor plates and breaking nodes. He saw as the robot's movements and attacks became weaker and weaker. Ren looked on his reader and saw that the estimated durability of the Inspector was low.

Ren holstered his rifle and drew out his Lord Knight's sword. Immediately he went invisible, using his reader to activate his Active Camo. He made his way towards the thrashing Nasod unseen. As soon as he uncloaked, a giant aura protruded from his sword.

"Grand Slash!!"

Adrenaline flared in his arms as he repeatedly swung the sword in an 8 formation. Ren furiously slashed at the core until finally, it exploded, sending brilliant fireworks out towards the ceiling. The Nasod Inspector's body drooped down pitifully as the lights in its eyes died. A tiny spark sounded from its body, and then all was silent.

'There.'

Xavier ran forward at the inspector that was starting to break down. He slide right under the arm and reached for its wide open core. His gauntlets gripped around the El Shard, the claws nearly pierced through the gem as he ripped it out of its holder. The inspector gave out its last spark as the crystal was removed, the power source now firmly in Xavier's hands. It felt cool, compared the heating flames that surrounds him and he felt the celestial beast growling in content.

"Impressive gem, isn't it?"

Xavier quietly agreed and he quickly made extra sure that the inspector was dead. He sighed lightly before facing the group of people who worked together to take down the inspector. He only narrowed his eyes and made no movement but keeping the El Shard close to him.

"Aw, that was too fast. I wanted to enjoy it a bit more."

Rena pouted at the forest elf. The sword he held perked her interest and she hopped down from her seat, walking over to him.

"That was pretty cool, mister. What else are you hiding? Mind letting me see the rest of your tricks?"

Her eyes flashed dangerously as she approached the elf. Forget the El shard. She rather steal some of this male's El energy. But she was curious as to how the diverse group was going to react to the shard's appearance so she kept her ears open and listened in on their conversations.

Rain
"That's...Elsword's weapon!"

"Does that mean an Elsword exists here...?! But if that's the case...!"

"No...if this world is what it is...then he's probably gone."

Slowly, Rain floats down to the wet floor and observes the people gathered. The atmosphere was rather tense, especially since some are observing Xavier with almost a predatory glare. She can feel her other self's anger rise when she rests her eyes on the corrupted Rena.

"I have to...my revenge!"

"Rain, stop. If you engage her now, who knows what we set off. Do you want us to die before we go back to our world?"

Her other self stays quiet. Rain grasps the hat that is resting on her bun and holds it close to her chest.

"Ash..."

Honestly, Rain was afraid. What is she supposed to do now? Her party leader is gone, she can't trust Rena anymore, and Xavier...

She knows Xavier doesn't take too kindly to her.

What was she to do...?

Everyone looked at each other, eyeing with suspicion and some hostility. Most of them didn't know who he was, but he fully well know most.

"Well, that happened. Honestly, if I knew that two groups were coming to challenge this hunk of metal, I shouldn't have interfered in the first place." He massaged his stiff shoulder a bit while walking. Their eyes looked at him. "What? Got something to say, then say it." He noticed that a kid was leaving the group. "Who's the kid? And more importantly, why is the kid here?"

"Good work, Oblivio." He praised towards his partner for the help and took a good look at the kid. "Why the heck are you here? This is no place to play you know. And..." He noticed the weapons that she held. "You better not use those, for your sake kid."

Ren was taken aback by the purple haired elf's sudden advances. Immediately his guard went up, physically manifesting as an alert frown.

"That's none of your business," he replied coldly. Though he didn't stare at her dead on, he kept an eye on her just in case she did anything suspicious. Though the woman was a forest elf like himself, she was possessed, after all. Ren sheathed his sword and brought out his rifle, which was holstered on his back. He kept the safety off, and the rifle continued its electric whirr, waiting for its wielder to pull the trigger.

With a stone face, he eyed the rest of the people who were there. None of them looked familiar, although he did notice another elf. Male. He was the one that called out a kid running out of the scene. Airi. But not even thirty seconds passed when Ren saw Airi back at their location. Someone had teleported her back.

He watched the whole scene like a hawk, learning who was who and who had which powers. He learned of Lara's transformation, as well as Airi's martial arts skills. One of them seemed to be a healer and uses daggers. The lavender-haired predator elf seemed to be a master at archery and kicking. Then there was the elf who seemed to specialize in fisticuffs and had his arms wrapped in chains. Another had mastery over time and space.

It almost made his head spin, but that was the gist of all of their powers. Ren stood in the tense silence, hungry to collect his pay and run, just like Airi did. He didn't want to be around these people. He just had to be quicker and more alert to not fall into any portals.

"Oh, interesting. There is someone watching but can't be seen." The voice in Xavier's head rumbled with interest and there was a feeling of satisfaction that flowed through him. "The El Shard...its powers are magnificent. Just by holding I can feel some of my own strength recovering. I think my memories of the past will come back to me. Hold it just a bit longer, Little Fire. I'll tell you when it's necessary to give it up."

Xavier sighed and only nodded his head, making him look like he was listening to someone next to him but there was no one. He gripped it slightly tighter, the claws of the gauntlet slightly pierced into the gem. Yes...it was fascinating for Xavier, he can feel the energy. He ripped his attention away from the crystal and only let out a short sigh. "So...is the demon general here for the crystal?" Xavier questioned, curious.

His awakening time shorted out and the flames dispersed into the air. Xavier's appearances did change, having rather sharp eyes like of a dragon and he grew a bit taller. His hair was a different shade of red as his armor of his awakening form simplified itself to fit his body frame. Next to him was Komodo but he grew large as well, his wings and upper limbs converted together in which granted him larger wings and had a nasty glare at the group, letting out low growls but staying close to Xavier. Xavier as well had a predatory stare but he stayed calm.

His eyes wandered around to study everyone else, frowning slightly at Rena's appearance. He felt strange for staring at the once pure elf so he looked away to see about his other party members. He nearly forgot that Ash was gone, making him frown further more but Rain seems to be fine. To him, anyways. His mind began to ponder as he heard the dragon inside him chuckling at Xavier's thoughts of kindness. Though there were no snarky remarks. Not yet anyways.

Staunting foreword in his motions, he soon regained the feelings in his legs. He wasn't quite sure where he was going, but for some reason, at the same time, he did. In a burst of hyperspeed, his body blurred, a streak lining his direction.

It led to an underground hangar, abandoned, musky, dank. And yet, despite the environment, there was various beings he could sense with his ears. Which should've came as a surprise, as he could swear on his deceased fiancée (not that he would dare), and without losing a shred of pride that his ears were supposed to be just a bit more than a normal soldier.

However, he still had yet to think straight, without rage fueling his every movement.

"W-Woah, i-..it's..."

A pair of feet shuffled towards him; the rattling of the poor armor and gun annoying. Thus, he snarled, thrusting an arm.

What on hell happened to my unit!

He shouted commands. His words, overbearing, and imperial, awoke the stampede of feet. Nothing of it being so coordinated, so mechanical crossed his dead-set mind. Nor the fact that his subordinates acted as if the past events hasn't happened; they lacked the drive—the rage—Raven carried since they knew he was falsely accused. The only emotion they shared was astonishment and fear, strangely enough. After all, Raven was the kindest commander one could have. He was relatable if not pitiful due to his meager past which should've failed not in resonating with his fellow soldiers and/or subordinates.

And there they were, under a ruling that was too akin to the one that had once condemned him.

Elder, that was the place he needed to reach in order to sate his rage.

"Ready my airship."

He was getting closer in ridding the inferno that burnt within him.

"Do I even look like a demon, kid? Last time I checked, I don't have fangs or claws or even horns! Or my skin is the color of snow!" He yelled back to her retreating form.

"And as for your question, the El shard is a bonus for my troubles around here. And don't call me a demon general, I don't go by that, lizard boy." He replied back to him, as he took a step back. Mainly due to two certain elves that's been looking at him the whole time, but haven't spoken yet.

Rain
Rain clutches Ash's hat tighter when she observes a girl being teleported next to the clumsy boy. She hears the utter annoyance in her voice, and Rain suddenly wants to get out of here as soon as she can.

"Rain...what do I do now...?"

"We have to sit tight, unfortunately."

"I just...want to go home..."

She continues to watch everyone, silently noting how everyone seemed really hostile to each other.

"What a horrible atmosphere..."

"It's even worse than when we found out that traitor of a fire priestess."
