Fantasy [Private] El Stories

Ren's ears twitched at the horrible sound he just heard. Turning, he saw Airi falling face down into the dirt.

"Just a moment," he said curtly to Lara. He ran towards his fallen comrade and began lifting her up. "Don't worry... I gotcha mate," he reassured her.

Komodo chirped at the pet, nuzzling into Rena's hand before he hoped off of Xavier to stretch himself out. Xavier smiled at Komodo's starting affection for the elf and he drink his water as his thoughts began to wonder.

It can't be helped that he thought back to the nagging feeling that something, or someone new was present. Though Xavier can't really put his finger on it, the feeling felt a bit bizarre to him. As if there was another level of power he didn't know he had. Xavier went ahead to close his eyes for a moment, thinking that he was just exhausted. The feeling didn't run away from him, but it felt like it was slowly approaching closer. As if a predator was corning its prey. Something clicked.

Xavier suddenly sprang on his feet as if he suddenly got annoyed by resting too much. He nearly bumped into Rena, spewing out apologizes to her. Komodo jumped a bit at Xavier for moving fast and had a small concerned look for the teen.

'Probably my imagination. I could actually go for a different drink right about now...'

"The boy has good taste."

"I think he's too old to be called that."
It takes her a while to let go. She can feel the eyes of both Rena and Xavier on her as she continues to hug him. When she finally pulled away, she does a scan of his body for any more wounds.

"Can you stand? We have a mission to finish, Ash."

She hands him back his hat, and turns to her other team members. Xavier looked spooked, while Rena worryingly tries to find out why.

"What happened?"

"Its nothing guys. I guess Im just being paranoid, that's all. Sorry for surprising you all," Xavier apologized, giving a small smile to reassure that it was nothing wrong. The feeling started to fade off as if it was aware for being noticed. "Anyways, Im ready to go. How long should we wait?" He asked them, wanting to change the subject.

Ash
He looked around, looking for nasod parts as he stood up. "These nasods should be powered by El Shards, we'll use them to our advantage to strengthen our own abilites. This will be very helpful against Inspector so take your time channeling your own mana with these shards." Ash tossed a few to Rena, Xavier and Rain.

"Thank you, but I'm fine."

Rena threw her portion back towards Ash.

"As an elf, I have a natural tendency to absorb El's energy to regain mana. You should use them."

She sat on the ground and took a deep breath, closing her eyes. Before long, a gust of wind circled around her as the energy in the air was attracted to her. Nearby spirits flew around her, helping her gather more of the energy. Her mana was quickly recovering.

'...heh...'

Xavier studied the crystal in his hand. He can tell that it was similar to the smaller ones he carries around though the same feeling like before turned back to him. He held the crystal in his hand and said nothing else about his own issue. Komodo hopped back on him though he seem to rear back for a second as it cast a suspicious stare at Xavier. Xavier frowned at the dragon in confusion though the reptile didn't say anything but starting to climb back on him.

He saw how Rena tossed back her El Shard back at Ash and he quickly cleared his throat. "Oh hrm...mind if I actually hold onto that? Since Rena doesn't want to use it," Xavier said without a second thought.

Rain
She stares at the El shard that she was given.

"Strange...that our powers affect things related to the El, but we ourselves don't need it."

"It's best if we don't draw their attention to that. It's bad enough we come from a different Elrios."

Rain nervously puts the shard into her bag and looks around the carnage as they continue to rest.

"How's your throat feeling?"

"It's feeling alright. Still feels weird whenever we sing together though."

"True. I can never get used to my voice sounding that way."

"Me either."

As she waits for the three of them to recover their strengths, Rain sits in the corner and begins to sing about her world in a language she knew the others couldn't understand.

Ash
He tossed Renas share towards Xavier, with a smile on his face.
"Oh Rena, you don't know the monster you've unleashed." Ash had unlocked a very useful set of armor that he himself is very limited to using. He put the el shards in a bag. "Honestly we should get going as well. This threat can't be left behind much longer."

Lara looked back and saw Airi, visibly exhausted, as Steele was taking care of her. This was not going as fast as planned, but she could fight freely now that people watched her back.

"Mortals, always so weak..." She thought before rushing to her side and decided that they needed some rest before continuing to the next room. Besides, the Inspector had a few tricks up his sleeve that would prove fatal to them. After blocking all other issues from where guards could surprise them from like she had done the night before, Lara sat down and took off her burnt cloak and let out a sigh.

"This place has more people guarding it than before... I wonder how much the Inspector has changed."Looking at her companions, she continued. "The Nasod inspector. That's what awaits for us right behind that door." She said as she pointed a heavy metal door at the end of the room. She sheathed her weapon back and got out a mana potion her and two health pots for the rest of her team.

"Here you go. Honestly, I'm glad to have found good companions like you two." Lara stated before taking a short sip of the flavourless mana that the glass flask contained. "However, the hardest part of this mission has not even begun. You see, the inspector..." Lara continued to explain the few abilities the Inspector had shown the last time she had faced it. From the light orbs to the fire lasers, that machine was made for one thing only: to be the mightiest weapon of Lurensia.

Ash's remark made Rena smile. She inhaled deeply and exhaled one last time before opening her eyes. Her mana had completely recovered and a good portion of her stamina was also replenished.

"Please, don't give me the credit. The honor is all yours, Ash. I'm just glad that the monster is on our side."

She double checked that she had everything inside her bag before she slung it over her shoulder. Picking up the bow that had sat beside it, she stared at Ash's gift for a while before whispering some words. The bow shimmered and disappeared.

"I'm ready to go."

Xavier held the El Shards in his hands with much interest and keep staring at them for a good while. He eventually put them away and nodded his head to show that he was ready to get going. Strangely he felt excited. Moments ago he felt tired.

'I guess I look forward to be in a nice bed...'

"Thanks, Steele. Thanks, Lara. I'll be fine." Said Airi as she accepted the suspicious health pot. She popped open the cap and started to drink the red liquid inside.

She could feel her wounds healing as she drank the red liquid. She gulped down the rest of the liquid before pulling out some sweet rice drinks.

"Want some? I have straws too." She said as she offered them to her new allies.

Rain
When she finishes singing, Rain sees Rena place her bow away. Xavier looked ready to go too, his mood suddenly improved from before. The dancer stands and wipes any dust on her. She looks back at Ash, relieved that he's okay.

"Let's move on, guys. I'll keep Luminescence on in case we run into any dark rooms."

She walks ahead of them, keeping a few daggers in her hand in case something tries to jump on them.

"Rain, do you know anything about this Nasod Inspector? We never had the chance to pursue it back in my world."

"Mmm...I also didn't pursue it back in my world. I joined the El Search Party pretty late in their journey, and I never bothered to ask if they did."

Seemingly at a loss at what to expect, Rain hides her hesitation and continues to walk forward.

"Rain, have you ever wondered why we were teleported to this world?"

"I do not know. We were about to pursue Glave and learn the truth...but we fell into a weird portal..."

"Do you think...Glave sent us here so that we could learn something about our world?"

"It's entirely possible...although I do not know what lesson he wants to teach us about?"

The healer continues to think about her question, lost in her thoughts as she leads the group onwards.

Arya wiped her brow as she took out her flask, taking a large gulp of water before glancing around at her surroundings. Nothing but sand all around. sand and cracked earth accompanied every so often by the oddly shaped cacti that dotted the scenery. In a way it was beautiful. But at the same time, it was frustrating. It was one thing to get lost in a city or town. But if in getting lost you ended up somewhere completely different than your intended location, something was definitely wrong. This, unfortunately, was Arya's life. Her horrible sense of direction could not be helped even by the compass she'd lost somewhere along the way and the charred map that she now held in front of her, twisting it here and there to make sense of it.

"One thing's for sure," she grumbled sarcastically, glancing through the glaring hole in her map. "This sure as hell isn't Ruben forest anymore." She had no idea where this was. And she knew for certain that she would never attempt to read a map ever again. She huffed, rolled the map up and put it away, taking another drink from her flask and continuing down her path. It was a long walk to wherever her path was taking her. If she didn't run out of food and water first, she would be glad to know just where it leads.

"Yeah I hear it."

Xavier can hear the gears shifting, and it sounded big. Komodo kept staring straight, as a dragon who can easily see through the dark. Xavier felt his heart rate increasing overtime.

'Closer and closer...a deadline soon approaching.'

Xavier instinctively scratched his ear as he felt a burning sensation and pressed on forward, following the group.

"Well... This might be troublesome. Add, can you download the security footage of today? Both night vision and regular" He asked the tracer as he didn't like what he was seeing.

"Why the hell do you need it?" He asked a little irritated that he had to have more plate in his task.

"It's just a precaution, for the future." He spoke once more as he stood up and made his way to the one-way glass, overlooking the Inspector. "I'll watch for now." He thought to himself while observing the figures entering.

Rain
She feels someone watching them.

The constant clink clink clink of the gears puts her on edge. Her feet were starting to bug her; every tap against the floor sent a small, aching pain up her legs. When Rena resummons her bow, the dancer forges two more daggers in her hand. They enter a barely-lit room, but the amount of light present was enough for them to gain their bearing. She turns off Luminescence before she steps into the room.

"I knew Wally was creating all of these machines, but I didn't think that he had an underground bunker dedicated to it."

She hides the fact that she knew all along that Wally would go that far. Maybe when this is over, she'll reveal the truth to her other comrades...assuming they don't call her insane.

"Focus on supporting the others. If we need to deal damage, let me take over. We need to save our energy because I feel like this is going to be a long fight."

"Alright Rain."

"So, where's the Inspector?"

Oblivio

He was merely troubled, not by the figures entering, but by what his brother was planning. Going back in time won't solve anything. Even if Henir gave his brother some help. It will never be enough. He knew the outcome of this. Nothing was going to help. His brother would be stuck in a loop of never being able to save his mother and him. The wrong timelines, the wrong world, the wrong parallel...

It was never going to end well. But since when did humans listen? When did they...ever understand and comprehend? He did. It was because he spent decades in a world so filled with nothing, that his sheer human mind broke. Oblivio was nothing more than an alias to cover up what was destroyed. To what he, willingly, let go.

Ash
A loud charging sound could be heard from above as metal on metal grinding could be heard, the inspector we came for standing over 15 meters tall. "Found him....and DAM HE's huge!" Ash shouted as he casted on his armor, the inspector landing on the ground swinging his arm at Ash who stood before him. "Oh sh-" His shield proved to be worthless as Ash was sent flying back to the wall for a second time today.

"Ash!" Xavier called out in alarm that he got knocked back. The second time too.

He looked back at the inspector and the size of it was definitely impressive to him. He was really huge, like what Ash said before being flown back. Komodo hissed and tugged Xavier by the hair harshly to start moving as the inspector seem to notice everyone else in the area. Xavier immediately knew he needs to be higher up, away from the ground. As if now, he tried to dodge away another heavy swing, somewhat glad that the inspector seem to be slow with its attacks. The bigger they are, the slower they get.

'Damn it, I would probably have a better chance if I used my awakening now here...I need time to build up energy, especially along with the El Shards.'

Ren eyed the dubious drink and took a small sip. He covertly dipped his finger and wiped some of the liquid onto his reader.

It checks out; no poison.

He smiled sweetly as he drank the rice drink. He'd never seen a drink like this before, let alone have someone offer it to him. "Thank you..." he beamed at Airi.

Finishing the drink, he turned to Lara. "So, we ready? I got a few more batteries on me so I have lots of ammo."
