Fantasy [Private] El Stories

Rain
When Ash halted in the middle of the hallway, Rain works quickly to get rid of the nasods that took advantage of the situation.

"Blizzard Fan!"

None of her enemies fell, but Rain twirls again, determined to finish the job.

"Loop: Blizzard Fan!"

This time, the nasods did explode, sending sparkling specks of ice around her.

"Ash, what's wrong? Did Ares say something to you?" Rain whispers, careful not to let the others hear.

"Oh, thank you."

Rena accepted the potion and sipped the drink, mentally preparing herself for a nasty taste. The medicine in her home village was extremely effective but they always tasted bitter and left her with a nauseous feeling afterwards. She learned the hard way to expect good medicine to have a bad taste. However, the potion only tasted slightly bitter, more sweet than anything else. She felt the effects kick in immediately after she finished and gave Ash a grateful smile.

She noticed Rain whisper something to Ash. The two had on a serious face.

"Hmm? Is something wrong?"

"Morning..." He replied groggily. The girl was petting him again, and his ears twitched at the sensation. For some reason, he didn't mind. It boggled him. Usually, when someone got that close to him, that person would already be dead. "Where's the vampire lady?"

Xavier gave a confused look at Ash and Rain though he kept moving forward. He felt relieved to see that Komodo returned back, shrinking in a process and his scales slowly going back to his original color. The time Komodo reached to Xavier, he was basically back to his original state, but completely spent as Xavier caught him when he suddenly stopped flying due to exhaustion.

"Hey, buddy, are you alright?" Xavier questioned the tired dragon. Komodo struggled to stay up with his limbs and growled low at Xavier, shaking his head side to side as the small little fur trailing from the head to tail seem to bristle in alarm. Xavier slightly slowed down, confused what Komodo saw further ahead. He doesn't see Komodo get scared that often, so this was a bit of a surprise for him. "Come on, we got this buddy." Xavier pressed on forward with everyone else, helping them getting rid of the nasods that appear in their way.

Lara walked towards Airi's side after seeing Steele emerge from his room.
"Looks like you're finally awake, Steele. Good. Let's go, there were people lurking around yesterday and you know what they say: the early bird gets the worm. One more thing, you long-eared merc. Don't talk to me using that word again." She stated in a cold voice, glaring at Steele.

Without any more words, she guided them towards the path she knew and they walked for a half an hour before reaching a dark room. They were only meters away from where the Nasod Inspector used to be, yet a red glow at the left corner of the room alerted her that wherever they were, it was filled with machines.

"Get ready." She whispered.

A spark flew through the room, revealing the steel and gears fused with the walls. A steam jet followed the spark. It was a rocket.

"Spread out!" She yelled as she leapt through the rocket's path and unsheathed her weapon, slashing the Nasod that had fired it. The room was dark enough for her appearance to be hidden, or so she hoped. Either way, sustaining useless spells in combat was not part of her plan, especially if there were people following them. No adventurer would get the prize before her, she would make sure of it. She deactivated her illusion spell, letting her hair appear in shades of indigo and a lighter blue, decorated by a broken horn. The blue orbs of her eyes returned to their turquoise shade and, her rapier began to glow with a white halo.

The combat had begun.

A ray of light blinded her for an instant and let her see that the machine that had taken most of her companion's life was right in front of her. Memories flew through her mind, the laser's heat turned armour and flesh to crisp, at least fifteen soldiers had fallen to its path. It was a fast but painful death as the victims had only a scream to remind of their existence before transforming to ashes. The beam barely grazed her, burning the edges of her cloak.

Her eyes filled with fear as she jumped back and leapt again towards the abomination that had summoned the deadly light. Her blade's shine grew in size and she put it in front of the iron giant. The glowing blade concentrated its halo into the point and fired an orb of light towards the monster, piercing it and exploding afterwards, killing other minor machines and pushing back the rest.

Unlike her last combat, the beast lift itself up.

Rena tilted her head questioningly at the brief exchange between the two and kept walking. All the while, she kept thinking back to the screams she thought she had heard.

Did I imagine them or were they really screams?

Although the ringing in her ears did stop after she drank the vitality potion, the screams were nothing like them. She thought back on the two suspicious sounds she heard. The screams sounded far away and came from something that had sent chills down her back. Even now, she still felt like something bad had happened. It was getting harder and harder for her to push the thought aside.

Why don't you go check it out yourself then? Ditch these so called comrades and head into the Shadow Forest. Let me take over your body.

Rena continued on with a grim expression on her face.

Rain
"You look like a blushing princess, Rain~"

"C-Can you stop? I-I can't get distracted!"

But even so, having someone who she's only known for less than a week call her that...is rather embarrassing. Even more so since he decided to pat her hair like a child. She worked furiously to eliminate the blush on her face.

"Rain, I feel like something's off..."

"Are you sure it's not that compliment that Ash gave?"

"No! It's more like...there's more people here...more things here...than before..."

"Hmm...best be ready then."

A sudden boom alerts her. The floor shakes, but the room is too dark for them to see what's coming their way. Remembering the orbs in her bag, the singer tries to search her bag for that familiar texture while she starts to glide across the room.

"We need a light orb!"

Leaving the tree tops with Oblivio, he could only smirk at the group that passed.

"Well, I'm glad that elf is up and running. Not so much with the newly made ice queen."
He commented as he gestured Oblivio to follow him. "Good thing she took the runes as well, they spelled danger all over, not even sure if you could make it, bud."

As they walked for a few minutes, explosions carried above and the echoing of fighting was ahead.

"Is a war happening here? Not surprised, the lord is an ass." He said while stopping just some ways from an intersection. With his hand, he tapped the wall 4 times in a rhythm.

"What's the password?" A muffled voice asked behind a wall.

"Chocolate." He answered and with the whirring of gears, the wall was pushed back before slowly going to the side. On the other side waiting, was a human with silver colored hair hair with an grin on, his choice of clothes consisted of a white pants decorated with buttons and more belts than it should, a white shirt with black stripes and the logo in the center, boots with iron plate colored with purple, white and black with the logo imprinted, white gloves and a a black jacket with a hoodie that had white fur on it.

"Took you long enough, hybrid." He then noticed his partner. "Who's him?"

"Introduce yourself." He gestured towards his companion that was acting weird.

Ash
Ash couldn't help but face-palm by Rains suggestion, "A light orb...doesn't brighten the area...it turns enemy's to stone for a short while..We'll have to fight in the dark." Ash readied himself for an assault from any given direction. "Let's just pray there ain't any lasers involved-" The moment Ash said that a beam of light came hurdling towards Rena, Ash not having enough time to get his footing lunged to intercept the attack with his shield, getting pushed back by the beam, slamming into the wall.

Oblivio

"I'm...Oblivio, a disciple of Henir," he said. His heart was in his throat, suffocating him. It was who he thought it was. His older brother, Edward Grenore. It seemed that 'Add' didn't recognise him, but there was a strange look he was giving him. A hint of recognition, the similar face structure was giving him out. His own voice was deeper, but it was familiar.

Please, for your own sake, don't recognise me.

Rain
"Rain, get a grip! And you wonder why I purposefully take over your body!"

She couldn't help but bow her head. Back in her world, she barely used these orbs, not even understanding their basic purpose. She thought that it would be obvious by their names, but apparently not.

"Sorry, I was mistaken..."

Too ashamed to even open her mouth again, Rain could only widen her eyes as a beam of light heads straight to Rena.

"N-No!!"

Her other self tunes her out, only because hearing the desperate cry was too heartbreaking...and too familiar.

"I would shout with her...if only I didn't remember...why I hated Rena." The other Rain thinks, making sure to never let her other self know.

Rena snapped back to reality just in time to see a bright light. She couldn't move. A shadowy blur jumped in front of her and took the attack. She only had enough time to notice who it was before her back hit the wall, hard. She let out an inaudible gasp.

I... What was I doing? Why do I always lose focus in the middle of a battle?

Ahahaha... see what you've done? You put others around you in danger. I'm surprised that you haven't realized it yet. How weak you are.

"A disciple of Henir? You're in league with that mask guy?" He asked while trying to get a better look on him.

"You can talk later with him, Add. What did you wanted to show me?" He asked while stepping in front of his sight. Oblivio was acting strange indeed, if he paused for a second.

"Right! I've been going on with the old man and he created something big with my schematic! Except, he made some adjustments to my initial plan." He explained while guiding them towards his secret passage way. "That bastard took matters in his hands without balancing the countermeasures! He basically made it into the strongest shield with the strongest spear, except there's a major flaw!"

As they arrived in one of his secret labs, he typed furiously in the computer that he made and displayed the new blueprint that Wally made.

"You're kidding, right? THAT'S what he made!?" He yelled as he got the gist just by looking.

"He reinforced the armor plates with multiple layers, he reinvented the cannon so that it directly connects to the El shard and made the arm longer for longer reach, not to mention that he implemented mortar cannons on the back with elemental El in each round. His once made continuous track was expanded greatly so now it can move faster and turn as well! His eye now fires a laser beam in short bursts before overheating. Through and through, the old man made the ultimate weapon for this generation of Nasods." Add explained to him anyways while pointing to various points on interest.

"Except, there's a flaw right here." Dust pointed towards the middle of Nasod that was weak. "After that, his bottom will show the El crystal shard implemented, cut the wires connecting it and it's a game over."

"Exactly, but there's a problem. Wally, he got himself another shard. He's taking it in a airship towards Bethma and probably leaving me behind to be blamed for this stuff, afterwards he's probably going towards the mystic island of Altera, home of the Nasods." He clicked his tongue as he knew the old man would do that.

"That's bad, but it'll probably be worse for anyone taking it against that monster..." Dust responded while a mischievous idea came about. "Why don't we screw his plan? The Inspector is just a distraction, right? He doesn't care whatever happens to the town. And how things are going outside, I'm guessing people are fighting off his forces."

"What are you getting at?" Add asked curious.

"We take control of the Nasods via hacking, make so that Wally still controls them in his flight and when he least expects it, it'll be too late. We take control of the ship, take his coordinates and fly ourselves to that island. Imagine, all the materials and parts of the Nasods. All the knowledge from the past and finally we'll take the El that's imprinted on that floating rock." He explained his idea to him and the tracer could only smirk to it.

"I guess having the title of sub commander isn't just for show, right?"

"Yeah, but whoever is gonna fight that thing, is going to die for nothing." He said towards the blueprint.

"Leave them. They'll reap what they sow." He back talked him.

"No... It won't fit well to just do that. I'll say let's even the balance with a little support. What do you say, Oblivio?" He asked while pointing towards the observation deck.

Ren walked in silence after the vampire lady scolded him. He would take care not to arouse her anger again. He smiled brightly once the Nasod showed itself. He needed some action after a full day of rest.

He let Lara charge forward. Drawing out his rifle, he popped the bipod open and planted it on top of some debris. He turned a knob to set the rifle to the fully-automatic mode and waited until she was clear of his fire. He watched her as the pierced the iron giant with a ray of light, and he saw the horror on her face as the giant raised up as if the woman's attack merely tickled it.

The giant rose from the ground, its eyes deep red with the intent to kill. With one heavy footstep, it stumbled eerily toward Lara.

"Lara, get back!" Ren hollered. Then he let loose a hail of bullets at the machine.

"I'm all for it, then," he said softly. He was relieved but anxious to be here. No...he had to get his act together. Had to pretend, or to act like himself. There was no point...everything was going to end soon along with his family ties. His drones appeared one by one.

"Hmm..." Xavier squinted through the darkness. This felt familiar.

"Xavier, I am surprised you haven't asked me any questions about your kind..."

Xavier was moving a log around, putting it in their respectful place among the pile of logs near a corner of a cave. It was pitch black but he has gotten used to such darkness, living here for his entire life. He turned around to stare at the icy blue eyes that were illuminated and watching his every movement. Xavier shrugged his shoulders. "I never thought about it. You guys usually don't speak about humans even though I'm living among you. I guess I just don't want anyone to feel uncomfortable about it."

"Hm. I suppose you're right. Human are interesting species, I have to admit. Though all are flawed and full of selfish desires," grumbled the voice.

Xavier sighed, stopping for a moment. "Then...why did you take me in?"

The eyes narrowed at the question, making Xavier think that he angered the dragon. "...I don't know. You were a baby back then. I wanted to kill you but I saw the way you tried for reach for me. You weren't afraid. You weren't afraid of my appearances. I guess...you captured my heart from there." The voice was low, soft as if it was recalling back a fond memory.

Xavier smiled, somewhat feeling awkward about it but he continued on his duty until he heard movement and a large tail pushing him back gently. "Huh?"

"There's a ledge ahead of you, Xavier."

"Oh, woops."

Xavier shook his head and focused a bit harder in the darkness. He can slowly make out the shape, though was alarmed when a laser beam was shot out at Rena. He even flinched when Ash jumped in to protect her but the laser forced them back. Whoever was in the dark was a powerful opponent. Of course, when Xavier tried to focus back in the darkness again, it took awhile to adjust his eye sight to make out the shape of their enemy.

"Huh," Xavier grumbled, silently praying that both Rena and Ash were fine after the attack. He looked down at his gloves, watching how the water attribute started to fade off. He had a small plan, it may or may not work.

Xavier dug through in his pouch and took out an el shard. He sighed lightly before placing it on the orb of the glove, letting the weapon absorbing it. The colors shifted before it settled to a nice red aura, Xavier flexing out his fingers in which it let out little sparks of flames. A source of light.

"Komodo, I know you're exhausted but I am in need of your strength," Xavier said to the dragon who was resting up in his hoodie. Komodo crawled on his shoulders to stare at him, his golden eyes squinting slightly before letting out a deep growl. The small dragon nodded his head and let out a small roar. He was ready. Xavier took a deep breath in as he ready himself in position, taking a stance towards the darkness.

"Alright, let's go.
Awakening: El Seeker!"

Xavier started to use up the stored energy he been saving up in the past days, in which Komodo started to shine and turning itself to a red wisp that wraps around Xavier, making him glow. The gloves enhanced to the sudden change, causing them to be ignited in flames. The darkness seems to lessen up at the flames and that is when Xavier saw the next attack. He dodged away the next laser beam, nearly missing by an inch though the dodge was well done since nothing was cut off of him. Xavier ran forward and saw the nasod much better by then.

"
Tri-El!" Xavier fired numerous of fire balls at the nasod and as well aiming a few to dry areas. Normally they would have died out but as he was awakened, they stayed lit and the room was illuminated by the flames, revealing the nasod before them.

"Add, start hacking the grid, Oblivio help him out. I'll stay on guard." He ordered the two while looking through the security cameras.

Ash who held onto Rena to try and lighten the damage looked at her, "Are you okay Rena?" Ash chuckled as he stood up, helping Rena as well. "It's really hard to see in here so keep a look out for any signs of light alright?" Ash patted her back while holding his side. A piece of his armor was shattered armor as a bit of blood dripped down.

"Strange to see Dust over there to bring someone with him. Most of the time he comes alone, save an elf with a rifle on his back. He isn't even that much for taking people under his wing, much less for that god of yours. So, what did you bribe him with?" "Ah, that. Guess he's getting a little desperate. I've heard the situation from him on the demons. Keep telling him that it shouldn't concern him about it, but then he goes on saying that he has to. Something about it was the right thing to do. A pity, he's a smart guy, just don't know why he would bother saving something that is dying. Guess he thinks the demons as his family or something like that." He told him as he bypassed another security layer. "Hey, on Henir, how is it in there? That man called Glave told me that it had the power to go back in time, is it true?"

Rain
Seeing two of her companions fall to the ground made Rain clench her fist. She tried her best to keep those thoughts, those god-forsaken thoughts, out of her head.

"Hey, I know how it feels like to be useless...but at least you're alive. You're in control now, Rain. I'm the one with regrets and revenge in her heart, but you...you can change that. You can do something I can't."

Hearing her other self comfort her...it wasn't something she gets from her often. Shaking her earlier distress out of her mind, she allows her vision to adjust when Xavier lights the room.

"Xavier, cover me! Lead it away while I go heal them!"

She lets the water inside of her flow out under her feet. This time, as she moves, she does less twirls, only to keep an eye on any attacks that might hit her. The nasod prepares to fire another laser at her, pointing its gun at her forehead.

"Rain, dodge it!"

"I can't. Not when behind me are my comrades!"

She unsheathes one of Ash's daggers, continuing to glide backwards. The nasod fires its attack: a pure, yellow-colored laser. Before it can attack her, the dancer blocks it with her weapon. Rain can feel the power that wants to break apart her shield, but she stands firm.

"Phantom...Shift!"

Just like everything else in this dimension, the amount of power that the nasod exhibits is daunting. She feels herself being pushed back. Her slippers scraps against the floor. The pressure on her arm is starting to hurt.

"I won't...give up..not here!"

"HAAHHHH!!!"

As if she tossed all of her emotions, all of her power, she slices the laser in half, disintegrating it into nothing more than tiny balls of light. Heaving a sigh of relief, she quickly runs over to Ash and Rena.

"Let me take care of your wounds."

She jumps up and spawns five daggers. Her weapons form a circle, and a pillar of light flows down from it, engulfing her allies with warmth.
