Fantasy [Private] El Stories

Not much else was asked in the time it took for Arya to finish her meal, but her mind did clear and she had an easier time moving her sore limbs about. She also felt just how bad her stomach hurt from the gash and flinched with every breath. She didn't bother to try and sit up. Just breathing alone hurt more than she could imagine. Mock battles could only prepare her so well for her first encounter, after all.

She watched Stella leave and croaked a goodbye to the woman, staring out the window of her room to pass the time. It was rather boring, too. Se had never had to be so still in her life. It made her ache to move. To do anything besides just lie in bed for however long it took to heal. Eventually, a nurse came to change the bandages covering her arms and stomach, rubbing an ointment into the bandages that made her skin feel cold as ice. It took the pain of her injuries away for a time as well.

This process was repeated most of the night, as well as Arya having to drink from a light blue bottle. The nurse assured her she'll be right as rain before long, but at first, the girl refused. It smelled worse than her dead master's cooking and tasted twice as bad. When threatened with the possibility of being drugged again, Arya gulped down the entire substance, marveling at the feeling that washed through her body almost immediately. Satisfied, the nurse left the girl to herself.

By morning, Arya was up and about in her room, stretching and performing startlingly high kicks. At one point, the nurse watched as the flexible girl performed a full split and stretched, placing her forehead on each knee for a few seconds. By the time her routine was done, Arya glanced up finally, noticing the group of onlookers gathered. She allowed herself to be looked over, the gas in her stomach was little more than an aching scar now. Nothing the girl couldn;t handle. "Please tell me I can exercise with my weapons now," she pleaded. The nurse gave her a satisfactory nod, and off the girl ran, heading to the back of the infirmary where she could practice in peace.

Her weapon was brought to her while she waited, rather impatiently. Once it was in her hands, she was in her own little world.

"Oh um..." Xavier wasn't sure how to answer that. Was he? With Perkisas sealed inside him, he might as well be. Even his appearance changed after Perkisas was awaken. He decided to ignore the question, straightened himself up. "Dragon-boy, lizard-boy, little dragon...little fire...lots of nicknames I keep getting," he commented, feeling slightly annoyed. "My name is Xavier...Nice to meet you, Airi."

Rain
She couldn't help but chuckle at Xavier's interaction with Airi. It made her feel a little better that some people in this world are nicer than the ones she had to deal with.

"Airi, is it? That's a pretty name. I'm Rain."

Rain gives the girl a bright smile and continues to wait for Steele to answer her question.

Ren pondered Rain's question as the other two gave their cute little exchange.

"Henir..." he thought aloud, thoughtfully rubbing his chin and twitching his long ears. "I remember one guy I met on my travels. Seemed like a cultist or a fanatic. Said he wanted to explore Henir's Time and Space. I warned him against it, but I could tell by the glint in his eyes that he wasn't about to be swayed. Just shrugged and let him go his way. Probably still trapped in there. Either that or he's dead. Or he could be like you—in another dimension. I don't know, nor do I particularly care. I meet weirdos on the job all the time. It's fine."

Xavier only gave Airi a strange look, knowing very well that she did introduce herself when she walked up to them. Perhaps she forgot? He perked up at the words "Henir's Time and Space" when Steele answered. Even he felt Perkisas focusing back in the conversation. Already he knew what he wanted him to ask.

"Henir's Time and Space...by any chance, do you know Glave?" Xavier asked Steele.

Rain
At Glave's name, Rain steals a glance at Xavier.

"You know Glave? He's the one I was going to talk to in my world before I was whisked here!"

It was clear what she had to do. If a Glave exists here, then that could be her ticket home. She grasps Xavier's shoulders and shakes him lightly.

"Please tell me, Xavier. Have you met a Glave in this world?"

Late Late LegenDarius LegenDarius

"H-hey now..." Xavier slightly tensed up when she shook him lightly and he sighed. "No...I haven't, but someone told me who he is and I'm just curious..." He gently remove her hands off of his shoulders.

"Tch, I wonder who else is searching for that man."

Rain
"S-Sorry..."

She must have looked desperate in his eyes. Everything that happened up until now...it's starting to take a toll on her. Turning away from them, Rain lets out a small breath to calm herself.

"Hang in there, Rain."

Late Late LegenDarius LegenDarius

"So he had. Ask him where!"

"Where did you last saw him?" Xavier asked, his heart beat starting to speed up as he can feel Perkisas getting impatient. Xavier won't be surprise if Perkisas did another outrage. He made sure to have a hand on Komodo's head for some support as he take in steady breaths.

Ren's eyes narrowed. What did this little dragon boy have to do with the Gatekeeper?

"Why do you ask?"
Ren replied carefully. He saw that the boy was a bit unstable, and he made sure that the knife he had hidden in his belt was ready to go in case he attacked.

Rain
She hid her excitement better than Xavier did. Rain sees Steele grow defensive though, and she quickly tries to dispel his tense stance.

"Umm...I'm looking for him because he might be the key to opening the door to my dimension. I want to go home, you see. Xavier also has to find him, so we're traveling together."

Hoping that the elf won't shoot them, Rain silently prays that Xavier would give a suitable reason.

Ren let go of his knife and stared at her incredulously. "You want to go through Henir's Time and Space?" Ren asked with wide eyes. "Are you insane?"

Though they couldn't see it, Ren had flashbacks of the things he saw trailing the Henir fanatic at his last moments on earth. Ren had witnessed something he should've never seen.

"... So that's what happened." Was the only thing he said while digesting everything he just heard. A lot made sense, and yet nothing came back.

"Still, nothing comes back. Either I don't want to believe you or Samael is stopping me from remembering, but one things for certain." He took a moment to look at her guilty face. "I may have the scars from that day, but you've taken the most. Yes, the fault is yours. Yes, you're the girl that caused them to perish. Yes, if you haven't opened your mouth we'd still be living peacefully." She started to shake with the guilt building up.

"But, I still don't remember. I now know what happened to those people that were next to me and in that picture. I should be angry at you, I should hate you for everything, but I won't. What's in the past, stays in the past and as I said, I'm done looking back into something I don't remember anymore." Still looking away from him.

"If you truly regret what you've done, then atone it by staying with me." In that moment, a glimpse, something smaller than a pebble came into view. A very faint memory of two kids laughing and a small promise. "They'd probably would want that. And also, we made a promise, remember?"

Rain
"If I have to go through it again, then I will. Alone if I have to."

True, she did go through Henrir's Time and Space with her El Search Party. It was quite a trial, but with that many people supporting each other...they made it to the last floor...they were about to uncover the fates of everyone in her other self's world. If only that blasted portal didn't open and swept her away...!

But now...she only had one ally, and it was unlikely that he'll stay with her for that long.

"Thank you for your invaluable help. It looks like I know what I have to do now."

"Wretched thing, asking us questions and not giving an answer to ours. I don't like him. He makes me angry, especially with that sword," Perkisas snarled, rattling up Xavier's head.

'Shut it, will you? Things here don't work the same in your world so knock it off. We have to play it safe,' Xavier scolded the dragon.

"We should use force against him."

"Shut up," Xavier mumbled out loud in an irritated tone. He realized his mistake and only gave out a couple of coughs. Perkisas doesn't seem to like how Xavier was talking back but he didn't say anymore for now.

"You... remember our promise..?"

Rena was so surprised that she forgot about avoiding eye contact. She sighed in relief when there was no sign of hatred in his eyes.

"Yes, that promise from when we were kids... I will stay by your side this time. I won't let another family member die again."

I'm sorry, Ash, Rain, Xavier... I hope that the three of you continue to journey together and find happiness. Please, let our paths never cross again. The next time we meet, we will be enemies.

Against all odds, Ren's eyes got even wider. "You mean you made it!?"

Ren began to fear the woman that stood before him, and he tensed up again. "You must be very strong then. Maybe even a god." The elf reminisced of the things he saw through the portal at the gates. Peering through the tracker scope on his rifle, he saw monsters he'd never even seen before crawling amongst those aquamarine time fragments.

"Get some rest. Tomorrow we'll start doing something about that contract of yours, and to start your training. During the Nasod Inspector, you did so little that I'm surprised on how you're still here, we're gonna change that. At the same time, when we reach Bethma I'm going to need to find some ingredients for the rituals." He released a sigh to the amount of work he has on him.

"And don't think that just because you have a contract does it mean she's in control, after all, I wasn't one to follow the rules. At the same time, we're gonna need to do a few more stuff. Ah man, things to do, things to do. Oh right, I need to see if the priestess is awake, I need to give her answer afterwards... That can wait after my nap." He said while lying down, both hands and feet didn't hurt as much anymore.

Rain
"I did say I'm from another dimension. But I was only able to make it through because I had reliable friends to help me through. I'm no god."

Rain keeps the gentle smile on her face. It looks like he experienced Henrir's Time and Space too, judging by the looks on his face. Anyone who isn't ready for that would be permanently scarred for sure...

"Those friends who helped me...I need to go back to them. That's all I want."

Late Late LegenDarius LegenDarius I iFlipTables

Xavier stared at Rain for a moment, now curious about her experience. He...never been into Henir's Time and Space. He wasn't sure how it was but from the way Steele reacted, it must been pretty difficult.

"If you're planning to do the same thing, I won't bother helping. I'm done being a play toy for Glave," Perkisas grumbled as he peeked through his thoughts. "Besides...its best if we get stronger before meeting Glave. If he is not going to give answers, then it's best that we don't waste our time too much. Perhaps train since your stupid body can't even handle my emotions."

Xavier sighed. "How about you two chat for awhile? I think I'll just...let out some unnecessary steam by the lake," Xavier said to them, rubbing his forehead.

Heavengiver Heavengiver LegenDarius LegenDarius

"Okay. Have a nice rest."

Rena hesitated a bit before she draped a nearby jacket over the boy. She made sure she closed the door as quietly as possible as she left the room and entered the one across from it. She went directly to the bed and plopped face down onto the soft blanket.

He's still the same old kid...

Kid, my ass. How dare he threaten me! What does he take me for? A contract can't be broken so easy! I'll like to see how he plans on forcing me out of this body!

You were only able to take over my body because I accepted your contract in exchange for one condition. You did not fulfill that condition so naturally, I am still able to take back control.

Che, you planned this from the start, didn't you? You knew I had no intention of protecting anyone.

I took a risk, and it looks like it worked in my favor.

Don't be too full of yourself! Darkness will always exist where there is light. You can't hold me back forever!

The voice fell silent. The elf closed her eyes and drifted off to sleep. She dreamed of the promise she made as a kid.
