Fantasy [Private] El Stories

Inside mind
"Fufufu, so you decided to come here after all."

The dark manifestation wasn't surprised to see the boy. In fact, her expression turned to one of glee when he finally appeared. She was getting bored of waiting for him. Behind her, the ball of light continued to grow increasingly darker and darker. Wisps of mana flowed into the dark elf from the already corrupted areas.

"It's the other way around, Mr. Demon General. Don't think that it's easy to kill the darkness in a living being."

She created a dagger made of dark energy and threw it toward the boy.

The two elves remain still as stone, unaware of the visitor that watched over them. A hand twitched. The chained elf began to emit an evil aura. With a yell, the dark elf broke free from the chains. The burst of violence blew the chains into the air, landing beside the dark priestess. The freed elf stretched her body and smirked at the priestess.

"Interesting thing you have there. Mind lending it to me?"

As she saw the chains land, Lara chuckled. That other dark elf was worthless to conjure exorcising rituals. If he had told her, she would've done a better job at it. She took one step towards the elf and let free her own dark aura, intoxicating the air in the dimension before stating as a grin crooked her face.

"You've woken up earlier than expected." Lara took the chains and sensed the demonic spirit in them. It was not weakened, but its original vessel had been broken and compromised his existence. She whispered a few words and some of the demon's power, Samael, flowed into her. The broken horn on her head grew again and she felt her strength go to a whole other level. "About your offer, a little fight might decide that. Samael here is already pissed by seeing you, not to mention the other souls that know that your presence here is an aberration."

Lara took her rapier out, covered by the power of darkness, and pointed it towards the corrupted elf. This would be a good fight, she sensed it. She could feel Samael's calculated rage analyze the elf's weaknesses and Berthe's mind ready to lend her all his power to freeze her opponent to death.

Xavier looked behind him to see Rain, a bit surprised to hear the news but not upset. He nodded his head and stand back on his feet, putting back on his gauntlets.

"Alright," Xavier said. Komodo rose along with him, giving Rain an intense stare but not showing any signs of aggression. He was slowly starting to trust her.

"We'll see about that!" He replied back, going forward, grasping the dagger in his right hand crushing it in the process. The corrupted energy started to crawl in his wrist but then stood stationary, which surprised the dark entity.

"Don't even try to corrupt me with this, it won't work. I've done countless ritual of purification and power struggle while in the demon realm. Truth is, I absorb this energy making me much stronger. Think wisely now." Dark symbols started to appear in his right arm both here and in the real world. These ancient symbols represented power, more specifically, the power to bend the dark for himself.

"Hmm... Somebody else is using Samael, hope they don't use him too much, he hates being used by someone else unless it's me."
He thought to himself as he avoided the elegant and aggressive attacks of the entity, countering every so often.

"Don't just stand there Rena! Fight back!" He yelled to her, while avoiding another attack.

She can feel the dragon stare at her with an intense glare, causing her to laugh nervously. Guess their first meeting really bothered it.

"Oh Rain~ You know what this means, right?"

"Don't remind me...only until I fix this dress, understand?"

Rain heaves a dreaded sigh, her good mood destroyed. She feels her other self laugh in her head, and it only makes her even more grouchy. Dragging her feet all the way back to Elder, Rain prays that no one will look at her.

"Excuse me?" Ren said, taking Airi's arm away. "You don't know me like that."

He walked towards his pack, trying his best to hide the massive blush on his face. After a few deep breaths he managed to calm himself down. Turning to Rain with a serious look, he said, "It's about time. Let's head out."

Jeez, this girl... Ren thought as he walked in silence. I gotta lose her somehow... She's so thirsty...

The dark elf stared back at the priestess, amused at her reaction. She held out the bow in her hand. Dark energy flowed from her into the bow and morphed its shape until a deadly knife crackling with energy appeared in her palm.

"What fun! I've been itching for a good fight since I entered this body in Ruben! Try not to disappoint me!"

She dashed forward with the knife pointing toward the priestess's heart.

"Fufufufu, not bad, kid, not bad."

The dark elf engaged the demon general with a series of kicks, all directed with frightening accuracy at the boy's weak points. She defended with her bare hands, encasing them in a dark barrier moments before the impact.

"Don't bother. She's having a nice dream right now. Darkness offers salutation to its hosts. It tempts them to seek evil, to accept the callings of vengeance. Weren't you in a similar situation a few days ago?"

It was as the dark manifestation said, the pure elf was indeed unconscious inside the birdcage, trapped in a nightmare. Within the span of a few seconds, she was forced to experience the joys in her childhood followed immediately by the scene of destruction. Over and over again they were replayed until the elf wanted nothing more than to be freed from this nightmare. Part of the pure elf's hand began to disappear.

Xavier paused for a moment when Komodo suddenly started to claw his pants lightly for attention. He looked down and immediately understand the stare the dragon was giving him, making Xavier feeling awkward.

"Komodo...aren't you a bit big to be carried now?" He said to the dragon. Komodo huffed and still tugged him with a hooked claw, almost ripping the cloth. "Okayokay, stop doing that...ugh...get on..."

Xavier walked in Elder with Komodo clinging on his back, the dragon having his wings around him, the hooked claw clinging into the clothes as he had his head rested on top of Xavier's. His body was somewhat resting on the bag Xavier was carrying. The only issue that others need to watch out was the tail, it was unpredictable on which way it swings. Yet Xavier felt embarrassed, his cheeks were tinted red from the stares he was getting.

"You would think that, but I've had decades to get over it!" Defending her kicks by countering them with his own, while still maintaining the offensive. "Spending all my time in the demon realm, I know darkness better than any other elf! It doesn't offer salutation or satisfaction, it'll only drives them further from themselves! That's why they tempt to seek evil, to accept those stupid callings of vengeance! What's the use for any of that if you aren't in control of your own life?"

He kept attack and attacking, stronger, faster, absorbing the energy that those kicks held and putting them in his body. More tattoos started to show, but they started to become increasingly more stronger, almost like curses. Soon his legs started to release the same dark aura as his right hand, but the energy that released contained no ill intent, only his resolve.

"I'll keep going against you! I'll take her back, you hear me! She isn't just some tool for you to use, she's my god damn sister and I'm not letting her go again!" His resolve momentarily shook the world in her mind.

"You hear me Rena? I'm right here! Don't just let her take you, fight back! Don't let our memories, moms and fathers memories be for nothing! Don't let their death mean nothing and breakthrough!" He yelled at her, and by some kind of sign, the light behind the dark entity shone just a smudge more than usually. "WAKE UP!"

This boy... he really is a dangerous man.

Although the dark elf didn't want to admit it, he was starting to pressure her. He was able to match her moves and actually forced her to switch to defense. The dark elf clicked her tongue in annoyance at the boy's repeated attempt to wake the unconscious pure elf.

"Shouldn't you be paying attention?"

She absorbed a slightly larger amount of mana from the half-corrupted ball of light and performed a feint, appearing behind the boy. She drilled into the boy's exposed back with her legs, kicking him to the ground.

"You aren't the only one who can absorb corruption."

She grabbed one of the chains hovering in the air and forcibly ripped the dark energy from the weapons. The aura around her increased its intensity. She smiled mockingly at the boy on the ground, not noticing that the corruption rate of the ball of light seemed to have slowed down.

"Alright, guys. Order whatever you like. I'll go and...change."

After heading into one of the many restaurants in the city, Rain leaves them to go to the bathroom. Her other self greedily sheds her burnt dress and dons a dark blue off-the shoulders top that smugly wraps around her bust. She can feel her other self take over, trying to cover her bare stomach, but she merely chuckles and gains back control of her body. Her white skirt dipped low and ended short, and her shyer self couldn't help but push it down so it would cover more of her legs. The tail-shaped veil attached to her skirt brushes against the back of her thighs, causing her to blush a light red. Smirking, the older Rain undoes the bun and places a blue hairband with frilly fabric on her head. She then finishes off with gold slippers.

"Oh, I feel great. Look, Rain. Isn't this more comfortable?"

"No, it isn't! I'm practically showing off everything!"

"Tsk tsk. That's no good, Rain. When you have sex appeal, you use it."

"I-I don't need sex appeal!"

Quickly packing off her stuff, Rain glances at Ash's hat.

"You want to keep it on you, right?"

"I feel like it would be rude...if I just store it in my bag."

"I have just the thing."

Pulling out a hairclip, her other self clasps his hat onto the side of her skirt.

"There. Now, let's head back!"

"N-No! Wait-!"

Too late. Her other self drags herself out to the group. They seem to be busy eating so they haven't noticed...yet.

Rain had led them into a small restaurant in the city. Instantly, the elf's face looked up when he saw the atmosphere and smelled the many aromas. He smiled cutely when Rain told him and Airi to order whatever they wanted.

"Thank you!" Ren said happily as Rain was leaving. Soon after, the waitress came to take their orders. "I'll have Seekh Kebab over Basmati Long-grain Brown Rice. No vegetables. Extra white sauce, some green sauce, and a touch of hot sauce."

"Mhm. Any drinks?"

"Just water. Thank you!" With that, the waitress left. Turning to Airi, Ren said, "Take your time, we're in no rush as of now. Call the waitress when you're ready."

Ren folded his hands and rested his elbows on the tables. He closed his eyes and took a deep breath, trying to forget the words that were said about him. He never was good at... those types of things, anyway. So he patiently waited for his food, taking his time pondering recent events. He had been separated from Lara during the collapse of the Laboratory. And he was certain that red-haired woman he had met the other day was the one who caused the explosion.

That damn pineapple-head... Ren cursed mentally, remembering the arrogant look on her face. The hell is Velder doing all the way here, anyways? They're on the other side of the damn continent. There's no reason they should be here. Even if it was to address the problem with Wally's corruption, a far off country should be mindful of its own business.

The waitress had placed two glasses of ice cold water on the table, one for him and one for Airi. He eyed the cold water as he continued his train of thought.

Most importantly, I didn't get paid. Ren gritted his teeth at the thought that that damn vampire lady had taken his half. No one takes a merc's pay without consequence. But then he remembered the savage transformation she underwent during the fight with the Nasod Inspector. He still can't quite gauge how strong she was, so confronting her now is a risk that could turn out terribly (assuming Ren finds her within these next few days).

This time, his train of thought was interrupted.

"Here you go sir," said the waitress as she placed a hefty platter in front of him. It was a gorgeous sight. Steaming-hot long-grained rise overlayed with three scrumptious kebabs topped off with his specified mixture of sauces. Perfect.

"Ah, thank you!" Ren said to the waitress. The waitress giggled, seeing his bright smile and rosy cheeks.

"Enjoy~" she said as she walked away, giggling to herself. She gathered near her coworkers and she began to whisper and giggle about him.

Ren, on the other hand, wasted no time. The fish from the lake wasn't good enough for breakfast, especially not when the meat tasted like trinitrotoluene. No, this was good food, in authentic Sanderian style. He lost himself in the meal, gorging slowly and tasting the richness of every bite.

Lara smirked as the knife pierced her chest, breaking her image in a thousand shards. In a blink of an eye, Lara placed herself behind the corrupted elf and Samael's chains began to strangle her. As she heard her victim try to tear the chains apart once again, Lara called forth Berthe's might and covered her sword in them, slashing her legs superficially as ice froze her limbs in place.

"I would like to say that this combat is over but..." Lara called forth her energy and concentrated it on her fists and feet "It's been a while since I've used so much power and I want to kill you for deceiving me.I thought you would have more reflexes than this. Your power would be greater if your vessel wasn't mortal, it's quite a shame." The chains clanged and Samael's voice reached her and insisted that their contract would be over if she killed the body which held the pure soul of his owner's sister. Lara punched the elf on the chin with a powerful upper-cut. The impact sent her body flying across the sand and landed next to Dust's. "Samael, she's just unconscious. It's now up to you to ensure that she stays that way until your precious Dust takes care of the exorcism." The chains jingled again as they covered the elf's body. Lara chuckled "You looked into those memories, didn't you? Then, you know very well that your master doesn't remotely resemble him." The chains clanged once more. "You're pretty chatty for a demon. I won't answer to that question, Resiam sank one night after the demon invasion and that's how it will be known for centuries to come. If you want to know the answer... well, just change masters." Samael's chains furiously clattered and Lara simply laughed off the demon's protests "Samael, I thought you'd take a joke better than that. Now take care of her energy or I'll have to kill her for real next time she tears your vessel appart." She continued as she sat down, weapon at hand. Now, it was a matter of time before the ritual concluded.

The dark elf suddenly coughed out blood and doubled over in pain, clutching her chin.

Khh... I underestimated her. It'll take a bit of energy but I'll take control of her body again.

She remained preoccupied as she tried to send part of her conscious over to the main body once again.

His back was hurt, but thankfully he was able to redirect the blow just slightly off his spine. He kicked her to the side as she was distracted.

"You're the one that should pay attention!" He noticed that she took some of Samael's chains power and became slightly stronger, the aura that she released was intimidating and the pressure escalated higher than before. But that wasn't all that he noticed, the balls corruption slowed down.

His efforts were working, so he went in the attack once more. Though, he blows were considerably stronger than what she was before.

"Rena, wake up! I know you can hear me! Fight back! Fight it, Rena! Are you going back on your promise? Wake up, damn it!" He continued to absorb every single strike that he received, though wounds started to arise and his body in the real world started to show those bruises.

The dark elf didn't know why the boy didn't give up on the forest elf. It annoyed her that someone would care about the weak elf rather than allow her to gain control when she was obviously stronger. She paused in her attacks and put some distance between them.

"Why are you so intent on waking her? Are you not a dark elf yourself? She would be in better hands if I were in control."

He got a breather, just enough for that entity to speak her mind, to question him.

"Being a dark elf means nothing!" He screamed at her.

"I don't know why I wanna wake her up, call me crazy, call me stupid, call me whatever you want! But that girl, she's my sister and for what I learned back then, back when I learned from the many families that I took under my wing, family comes first, we protect each other, help each other and even if I deny it, it goes without question, we love each other even if I don't remember or feel it!" He resumed the attack, the ball of light shined a bit brighter and the dark world began to let light shine, however faint it was.

The ground started sprouting fresh grass, it started to take shape, something that the elf knew very well.

"Rena! Wake up already! Don't just give up! I'm still waiting for you!"

Lara pulled her sword back in its scabbard and scoffed at the elf's question. "What do I get from it? Well, the purest mana source to begin with. You, as a dark being, truly were a disappointment; I wanted a good battle and all I got was a child waving a toy at me."

Lara looked into the elf's eyes and smirked: "Looks like you're losing your battle on the inside, why are you losing time here when you can put it to better use? Your choices intrigue me, just like your mere existence. Tell me, what triggered such a familiar aura to take control over such a pure body?"

The dark elf realized that she was beginning to grow weaker. She glanced at the ball of light in the corner of her eye. The corruption had completely stopped. In fact, it seemed like the light was beginning to push back the darkness.

It can't be! She broke out of my spell?

As if to confirm her suspicion, a cracking sound came from below her. The two people fighting froze and looked down. The sound continued until finally, the birdcage shattered, revealing the forest elf breathing hard. She glared up at the dark elf with eyes set ablaze in fury. From where the she was standing, nature began to bloom and expand, swallowing up the darkness.

"Oh no you don't!"

The dark elf took advantage of the opening to attack the boy. She aimed a kick at his head that momentarily stunned him, allowing her to conjure up two blasts of dark energy that she directed toward the ball of light. The blasts darkened the ball of light and restarted the corruption process. Rena screamed in pain and fell onto one knee. But this time, she managed to remain conscious. Her eyes never broke contact with the dark elf's.

The dark elf scowled, unhappy at the lack of process she was making in breaking the chains.

"My reason is of none of your concern, dark priestess."

She whispered a few words in the demon language. Her knife rose slightly into the air and shot toward her outstretched palm, until it suddenly stopped and dropped to the ground. The dark elf's eyes widened as the tip of her hair began to turn green. She couldn't see it but one of her eyes had also turned yellow while the other remained dark purple.

"Damn it!" He cursed while looking at the sphere, the corruption kicked off again. He clenched his fists knowing that if the energy started to falter again, Rena would be gone. "Don't give me that crap!" Energy raced in his legs as he lunged forward with incredible speed, hitting the entity in the stomach with all the momentum and energy that he collected. Sending it flying someways away from the two.

"*Huff* *Puff* You took a while." He commented to her while trying to catch his breath. "Rena, are you okay to fight for a bit? I'm running on fumes right about now." He asked, his aching body trembling every so often from the pain that he received.

"I have a plan, a dumb one, but a plan no less." It was truly a bad one, but it could turn the tides indefinitely.

One side of her said: Tone down your flirty attitude, you idiot.

The other said: Nuuuuuuuuuuu.

The saner side told them to shut up and focus on what task they had to do. Thankfully, they obeyed.

Airi sighed. She was never aware of her flirty attitude until recently. It was a good skill, but would cause problems in romantic relationships.

She called over the waiter and ordered a small bowl of rice. Airi didn't need to eat in the first place.

Regarding Henir's Time and Space... Well, according to Rain and Steele, it was a very dangerous place... But what exactly made it so dangerous? Ideas ran through Airi's head and none of them were pleasant.

Airi was so deep in thought and didn't notice her order came.

"Your rice..."

"Oh! Thanks!" Replied Airi as she thanked the waitress. The waitress nodded and went back serving customers.

Airi silently ate. If this mission helped get her stronger, fine. She planned leaving afterwards. Alone.

Lara sighed as she saw the light return into the elf's eyes. However, it wasn't enough and now that she looked at Dust's body closely, she realized that bruises were appearing. Entering the ritual would only make her dimension unstable, she knew it. This was maybe just a momentary relief, she knew it better than anyone. For now, she could only summon a weak purifying barrier around them to help the light overcome the darkness.

Once it was done, she felt a sting on her arms; time was running up. She looked at both elves and pondered what was taking so long.

Xavier got himself a drink in the restaurant, remembering how he wanted one yesterday but never got the chance. He as well got bread just to go with the drink. Komodo never left his back and had a rather predatory gaze at the food around them. Though being a good dragon, he stay where he is, mostly because he got a feeling Xavier won't carry him again once he got off. Komodo wants this to last for awhile.

Xavier took a bite out of his bread, curious what was taking Rain so long in the bathroom. He glanced over where the bathrooms were and his eyes slightly widen when he saw Rain walking out. He was surprised by the new appearances that he choked on his bread, banged up his knees hard under the table in reaction of his choking. Xavier coughed a couple of times before drinking down his ale. Komodo saw Rain himself but he was admiring rather than shying away, unlike Xavier.

"You act like you never seen a woman before," Perkisas commented with a chuckle of amusement.

'What you expect? I lived with dragons for my entire life. I'm not used to this yet.'

"Heh, this is sad. Women in my dimension quiver at the sight of me."

'In fear, right?'

"...Sure." Xavier coughed a couple times more. "I guess I'll save the story for another time, when you're interested into that area," chuckled Perkisas. "And don't worry, I'm able to convert myself as a human. It's not what you're thinking."

'Oh...my bad.' Xavier felt embarrassed for thinking such thoughts and forgets how Perkisas can look through them. The dragon chuckled furthermore as Xavier focused more on his drink and bread, grumbling low.
