Fantasy [Private] El Stories

Outside mind
"What... do you think... you're doing..?"

The dark elf was curled up in a ball, grimacing from the injuries that her double was receiving. She was using up more energy than she had expected to. Splitting her mind twice and quickening the corruption of the forest elf was taxing. Cursing under her breath, she threw a final glare at the dark priestess.

"Just sit there and wait. After I take care of that boy, you're next."

Her body suddenly went lax as the dark energy retreated back into her mind and merged with the dark elf. Rena's original appearance returned. Whether or not it would remain would be determined in the next few minutes.

Breathing hard, the forest elf endured the pain and nodded.

"I can keep her occupied for three minutes. Whatever you do afterwards... I leave my fate up to you."

She gave Dust a determined smile before turning her attention to the figure in the distance. The dark elf stared back at her with a face full of spite. The evil aura around her remained strong despite her injuries. Rena did not look away and slowly began to walk forward. A small whirlwind formed around her feet. It grew larger with each step she took. Her fixed gaze was one of a hunter on its prey. The dark elf huffed, unimpressed by the show. She knew that the forest elf was still under her influence and so, didn't deem her a threat.

"So the coward finally decided to crawl out of the cage. What can you do with your weak abilities?"

The whirlwind picked up speed and blasted outwards in a powerful shock wave. Rena had never before been angrier in her entire life.

"You could have done whatever you wanted to me. But I will never forgive you for hurting my brother."

The dark elf tilted her head back to laugh at her feeble threat. In a flash, Rena was suddenly behind her. The dark elf barely had time to register surprise on her face when something connected with her back. She was kicked into the air but managed to regain her senses in time to flip her body, landing on her feet a few feet away. Humiliation darkened her otherwise beautiful features.

"I had initially wanted your body because I sensed something special. But now, I don't care anymore. I want to rip you into pieces along with those two annoying bugs interfering with my plans."

"I know."

The simple response only seemed to aggravate the dark elf further. Rena took a deep breath and prepared to engage her counterpart.

"That's more than enough." He responded while running towards the ball of light, he was exerting his body too much, but it would be worth it. "These corrupted spots give her power right? Then I'll take it!" He announced while placing both hands on the corrupted part of the shining orb.

Little by little, the corruption started spreading over his arms, but never over his forearm. He was feeling the power, he could see the orb shining brighter, the dark spots in her world reaching out for him, trapping his legs.

"I'll take what I can... This is beyond stupid, but it'll be worth it." He told himself as the power started to weight on him. Both hands and feet released that aura of his resolve, eating away at the corruption and limiting the entity of her supply. The symbols on both his members glowed and small purple lines started manifesting below his eyes. "Just try tempting me, I'll make sure you won't be missed." He growled at the strain he continued to put and at the ooze that tried to surround him, but the years of purification served him well.

"Rena! Only you can defeat her! She's your doubts! Your low self esteem! You need to be brave and take her out! Don't be afraid, I'm right here!" He yelled to her while the aura gradually started to grow larger. In the real world, his body started to release the energy in a most pure and gentlest waves, despite him looking corrupted. Even in his bruised state, he never so much let a grunt escape from him.

Xavier notices her first, and his reaction made her want to bury herself into a hole. She made a vain attempt to cover herself up. Some of the guys were starting to look in her direction, wearing lecherous grins.

"X-Xavier? Are you alright?"

He only grumbles in response to her question. Awkwardly pulling up a chair to sit with her group, the healer blushes at their compliments as she squirms in her seat.

"To go back to your question of how to go in, Henrir's Time and Space originally lie in a place called Seven Tower. It's pretty far away, likely on the other side of the continent, but I found out that because of the El weakening, especially in a world where demons are running around freely, there are entrances to it that can be found. The easiest way is to find distortions in this world and seeing if they lead us into it."

She then moves on to her story with her friends.

"To understand why my friends and I attempted this in the first place, I have to explain what my dimension is."

Rain feels her other self take over, and she hopes it doesn't alert them.

"In my dimension, there was once an Elrios. I lived in that world, trying my best to assist my friends in defending the world from demons. But it was not to be, for our group fell apart and Elrios was taken over by the demons. I was the first of the group...to die."

"With the world almost swept back to its previous state of nothing, Glave recreated the world. And so, essentially..."

"I am a creation of Henrir."

Rain tells her other self to let her take over, as she fears reliving her memories will be too much for her.

"Elrios was reborn, and I started my journey over with my friends in an attempt to obtain the future my other self was deprived of. But then we noticed that the world was falling apart already. Once finding out that Glave used Henrir's power to start the world over again, we were then challenged to find him in Henrir's Time and Space in order to learn the truth behind his actions and to learn of what happened in the previous world...and we did. We made it all the way down there...but then I was swept away into this world with my memories sealed off. I don't know what Glave is going to do with my friends, so I have to go back to them as soon as possible."

She sits there timidly once she finishes her story. Just before one of her teammates can respond, she felt someone glide his hand across her lower back.

"Hey there, sexy. Wanna ditch these kiddies and go have some fun?" whispers one of the guys eyeing her earlier, keeping his hand on her waist.

Xavier was a bit surprised that the man had the guts to stand close to their group, especially when there was a hunger driven dragon on his back. Perhaps lust can overcome fear if one is not too careful? Komodo started to show signs of agression now.

The dragon leered at the stranger, glaring hard as he started to hiss. He bared his razor sharp teeth to intimidate as Xavier started to smile at Komodo's behavior.

"The elf is right. I wouldn't do that if I were you," Xavier repeated what Steele said.

He knows that Komodo wouldn't attack, not if Xaver gave the word. Of course, that would be bloodshed. Xavier doesn't fancy to be on the wanted list and decided to keep Komodo anchored so someone else can handle this. If the man doesn't back off, Xavier might as well get the deed done.

The two elves stared across the field at each other. They had silently agreed to a short break. Within one minute, both sides had gained numerous cuts and bruises over their body. As the stare-off continued, dark energy slowly mended cuts on the dark elf while spirits fluttered around the forest elf, replenishing her mana. The dark elf glanced briefly at the boy.

"He's pretty loyal. I didn't think that he would be willing to go that far. His powers of purification are quite advanced."

"Thank you."

"I wasn't complimenting you."

The dark elf glared at Rena. Instead of hostility in her eyes, Rena was shocked to see... jealousy. She realized why the dark energy had latched onto her that night. The reason was so pure that she hesitated. Unbeknownst to the forest elf, the dark energy was unaware of her thoughts and only saw that she had dropped her guard for a fraction of a second. In that millisecond, the dark entity appeared in front of the vulnerable forest elf and stabbed her knife deep into the latter's heart. A few seconds passed in silence. A hand grabbed the sharp blade and yanked it out of her chest. The dark elf made no effort to resist as her weapon was removed from her grasp.

"... You knew?"

"No, not from the start. I just remembered, thanks to Dust's words. My memory of you was also sealed by the elder."

"Hmph, petty excuses. Kill me."

The dark elf stepped back and spread her arms to the side. She closed her eyes and waited for death's embrace. When nothing happened, she opened her eyes and glared at the forest elf.

"I said kill me!"

"You know that I can't."

Rena's voice was soft as she stood firmly in place. The dark elf grew angry and raised her hand, slapping the forest elf. She grabbed the hand holding onto the knife and stabbed herself in the chest. Rena gasped and pull her hand back but the deed was already done. The dark elf coughed out a mouthful of blood. The light in her purple eyes was beginning to fade.

"Should have... done this... ages... ago..."

Rena said nothing as the dark elf slithered to the ground. Dark energy began to dissipate from the rapidly cooling body. Without saying a word, Rena slashed the air before her. The knife absorbed all the evaporating energy and flashed once before returning to its normal appearance. Heaving a sigh, the forest elf rushed over to the boy with a worried expression.

"Dust... You pushed yourself a bit too far."

She took the boy's hands into hers and closed her eyes. Small wisps of light soared out from the purified orb, landing on the boy. Each wound that made contact with these wisps either faded or disappeared completely.

"I'm sorry, my powers are still weak. I can only do this much right now..."

She paused and cleared her throat.

"Thank you... brother."

Once the dual sword was in her hands, Arya was in her own little world. She whirled it experimentally in her hands, the two blades singing softly in the wind. Like music to her ears, Arya hummed, a smile crossing her face. However, she noticed the dents and chips in each blade and the handles that made up the shaft. She gritted her teeth in rage. The three form weapon was a gift from her late master and the lizardmen all but ruined it! Rage built up in her chest as she whirled about, switching quickly from one form to the next in her dance of rage and sorrow.

She froze, mid stance as footsteps approached her from behind, and Arya straightened up, turning to see who her visitor was. Her eyes fell on the elderly lizardman and anger threatened to consume her. She took a step towards him, before noticing Stella with him, smiling. "You look better. We saw you training from the doorway. Who taught you?" Stella asked, but Arya ignored the woman, her eyes instead boring holes into the lizardman that stood by, staring back calmly. Stella noticed the glare and turned to the lizardman, then back to Arya. "Is that any way to greet the man that created the potion that healed your injuries?" She scolded lightly, her smile dropping slightly.

Arya took a deep breath to calm herself before giving a slight bow. "I suppose not. But you can't assume I'd be happy to see someone of the race that nearly killed me so soon." Arya answered, frowning herself. Stella nodded in agreement but said no more on the matter. "What brings you here? Or did you come just to talk?"

"I come to give you some work, and because Cha Cha Buch wanted to come and apologize on his brethren's behalf. If you're feeling better, then get dressed. We'll talk while we walk and get you fed." Stella replied, a hand on her hip. Arya nodded, but only after asking to get her weapon repaired. "Sure. I'll take you to see Toma, then. His forge is along the way."

Arya got dressed and checked out of the infirmary in due time, then followed after Stellam keeping her distance from the lizardman as he plodded along with them. "So," Stella started, glancing at Arya as they made their way down the road in silence. "How would you like to perform regicide?"

Rain
She shivers at his touch. It was nothing like Ash's touch...and it was nothing like Rui's touch. Rain is unable to move, even with the death glares that her comrades are giving to the man. Even more people started to turn their gaze on them.

"Leave this to me."

The seductive Rain settles herself into her body. She gives a wink at Xavier and Steele, as if to tell them to watch this.

"You have guts, boy. What makes you think you have what it takes to satisfy me~?"

Turning around and resting her chin on her hand, Rain summons a dainty dagger and runs it down the man's arm.

"I hope you know that...I love submissive men. Do you think you'll last a night of me slashing your body, giving you unbearable pleasure that you'll faint?"

She could tell the man was getting visibly disturbed.

"W-what the...?!"

"You do know who you're messing with right...? Back where I'm from, they call me a siren. Better run before I lure you in for my own devious plans~"

Seemingly in a trance, the man walks away slowly, fearful. Rain chuckles at his reaction and gives the body back to her shyer self.

"Y-you're so much better at handling those things than I am...thanks..."

Ren's hands eased from the Silver Shooter that was in his holster. His eyes widened, hearing such scandalous words from someone who looked like such a lady.

What the hell did I just witness... Ren thought to himself. I'm... I'm not sure I should follow her now. How should I tell her...

He sheepishly finished the rest of his meal in silence. So she's into that... Domination stuff...

Ren shivered at the thought. After a while he spoke to her.

"H-hey Rain..." stammered Ren. "That stuff you said earlier. It isn't true, right?"

"She isn't lying." Replied Airi. Her bowl of finished rice was placed in front of her.

Airi is now slightly wary of Rain's personality, after the incident with the man. Another "person" to deal with? At least she was an ally, not an enemy. The man, on the other hand, was a fool consumed by lust. No need to deal with him.

Airi crossed her arms. Now the question was whether her other allies would cooperate with Rain. She herself says that she's the creator of Henir's Time and Space, but now asks for help saving some people inside. It's a question of trust. Whether her 'allies' would accept or not, Airi was indifferent.

"I'm still in this. Are you?" Asked Airi.

Lara looked at her old opponent in disbelief. A round two wouldn't end in a different way than the first one, not in this dimension either way. She glanced at Dust and was somewhat relieved to see some of his wounds fade away slowly. The light was winning and was helping the exorcist in his battle. The pain in her arms grew, forcing Lara to clench her teeth to keep the dark being for noticing her weakness.

Xavier didn't say anything after the other Rain scared off the guy. Komodo eased up afterwards and went back to laying his head on top of Xavier's, looking around every once in awhile. Xavier finished up his bread and start to focus on his drink.

Though after a couple of minutes, a question bubbled up in his head. Is she a sadist or that was just an act? He wanted to ask but that may be too awkward to ask. Especially with the other two here with them.

"Well, fine job on defending yourself Rain. Kinda glad that I didn't let Komodo go to do his little rampage," Xavier said and took the last sip of his drink. He was still unable to look at Rain properly, hoping he wasn't offending her because of it. "Best to leave if everyone is done with their food. I at least want to reach Bethma before dark." For some reason, Xavier felt like the stranger may bring more trouble after being scared off. Xavier was just taking precautions.

"We're gonna need to work on them, you know?" He retorted to her while turning to the side. "We're siblings, we're suppose to help each other."

He looked around and the corruption spots started to fade away, the light had won. But despite that, he had a familiar feeling around the forest that her mind conjured.

"Funny this place, looks like I've been here before." He commented while moving away. "I'll be heading ahead, Rena. You can find the exit on your own." With a small thug at the chains around him, he dragged himself back to the real world. If only he stayed behind a little more, he would've seen her memory from before, a memory of joy between them when they were just children.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Lightly opening his eyes, a golden color briefly appeared before returning to his usual hazel color.

"Let's hope I don't need to do anymore of these purification rites, they really mess me up sometimes."
He groaned while looking around, he never saw this place. "Where in the hell..." He looked behind to find Tureen here. "Must've taken longer than usual. Thank you, Tureen. Samael." He recalled his friend to his side as the chains regenerated from their past aggression.

*Clink*

"She's fine, I've taken with me most of the corruption." He replied while the ancient black symbols around his arms were proof of his statement. Looking at his new ally, she looked in pain. "You can drop this, you know. Things been taken cared of."

He then rummaged on his pockets and offered at the elf a small mana bead. "Care for a mana droplet? These things are better than those mana potions that the humans have. Just suck on it and it'll do wonders in the long run, specially for your mana management. They also have flavor for once, hope you like tea."

"O-of course it's not true...! I-I could never go through with it."

"But I most certainly can. I faced far too many men with their brain in their crotch."

She then addresses Xavier and Airi.

"Y-yeah, let's go...waitress, check please!"

After dumping a small bag of ED into the scared woman's arms, Rain departs the restaurant with her new allies. Elder seemed almost as busy as it was back in her world...

"I never wanted to leave Elder so much in my life...I need to get back home..."

After Dust left, Rena couldn't hold back anymore and started laughing.

"I still can't believe that he is still alive. It feels like it's been forever since I last saw him embarrassed."

She laid on the grass and closed her eyes, enjoying the breeze in her memory. The sound of water signified a river nearby. She began to whisper a countdown.

"3... 2... 1..."

"W- wait for me, brother!"

"Jeez, you're so slow, Rena!"

Two elf children burst out of the forest, laughing. Suddenly, the girl tripped on a tree branch and fell on her face. The boy didn't notice anything until a cry rang out. The boy was unfazed as he turned around and glared at the bawling girl. He seemed to be used to the girl crying at every little thing.

The older Rena watched the children from a hidden place, smiling as boy grumbled under his breath but still lent a hand to the fallen girl. A slight ripple traveled through the surface of the ball of light.

"Looks like I can't stay in here any longer..."

The last thing Rena saw was the awkward expression on the boy's face when her younger self presented him with a tiny pebble she found beside the riverbed.

Rena slowly opened her eyes and sat up, looking around. For some reason, they were in a desert of some sort. Confused at how they arrived in such a strange place, Rena spotted Dust and was about to ask him where they were but as she got closer, she noticed that he was speaking with the dark priestess she saw earlier. The priestess had a strained look on her face.

"Um... are you okay?"

Lara looked at the mana bead and took it after thanking Dust. The regeneration she received from it was five times better than the regular mana flasks she used. The tea flavour brought memories of her past, back in Sander when winter came about and her tutor prepared a delicate tea for both. She finished to empty the bead and dispelled the purification barrier she had casted. The female elf would awake shortly, she felt it.

"I would like to exit this Reality Marble as fast as you'd like, but it'll take some time while some of my mana recovers. That bead accelerated the process, but I'm afraid we're stuck here for an hour more at best." She said to Dust.

"Um... are you okay?" Upon hearing that new voice, Lara got up and saw the forest elf walking towards them.

"Good morning, forest elf. I'm fine, don't worry too much. I suppose you're confused and I'll let you know that this is a Reality Marble of my own. If I destroy it
immediately, the energy will explode and damage the ship on which we're on. Like I was saying to Mr. Dust here, I'm destroying it slowly and absorbing back the energy I liberated to create it. It'll take an hour but, if you give me a small part of your mana, I'll be able to get us out in a matter of minutes." Seeing the elf's confused face, Lara smiled warmly and continued "Don't worry, it'll be painless and it'll have no consequences, I can promise both of you that." She glanced at the demon commander and waited for either one of them to answer.

"I... I'm still in... For now..." Ren said to Airi, still shaken by what he just heard. Something tells me this Rain lady isn't some innocent damsel like she seems at first. I hope she doesn't whip me.

With that, Ren got up off his seat and followed Rain, careful to keep his distance. "Your lead," he said to her.

Rena wasn't sure what a 'Reality Marble' was but seeing that the dark priestess probably used up a lot of energy to help her and Dust, she nodded and sat in a meditative stance.

"It's fine if you just take mine. Dust is still tired so it might be too much of a strain on his body."

Closing her eyes, tendrils of energy began to flow out of her body.

Xavier followed everyone out and with much effort, he managed to get Komodo off of him. He stretched out his body, feeling like he was cramped up for having Komodo on his back. The dragon only grumbled in dismay but didn't pester Xavier anymore.

They traveled through the busy town, Komodo staying close to Xavier like a needy child. Sometimes Xavier caught himself from tripping over because Komodo would get in the way. This kept going until they finally reached to the other side of Elder. The sight of a bridge in front of them with wide open spaces and a large river below caused Komodo to run forward to explore around the area.

"Off he goes..." Xavier commented as Komodo took flight in the air, doing a couple of air dives into the water before disappearing further ahead.

"Regicide...you mean like killing a king, or leader? If you're gonna order me to kill the king of Vel-" Arya started, but was silenced by a hand across her mouth and the sting in her lips. Stella had clapped her hand over her mouth harder than necessary and glared at Arya fiercely.

"Finish that sentence, and I'll have you arrested for conspiracy to commit treason," Stella growled. Arya waited patiently, her only glare softening once Stella calmed down. "No, I'm not asking you to assassinate our king. I'm asking you to assassinate his." Stella said, motioning towards Ca Cha Buch, who dipped his head in a low bow. "A lot of time has passed, and the lizardmen were peaceful once again. But recently they started getting more aggressive again. They attack anyone that roams into the desert or wanders into their territory. Peacekeeping missions ended in failure, and every so often we have to defend ourselves from night attacks."

"And you think killing their leader...will stop the attacks?" Arya asked. They stopped walking beside an outdoor forge, a young redhead with short hair glanced up from his work to curiously eye the group that had come to see them. Stella nudged Arya towards him.

Arya and Toma spoke for a while, negotiating the prices for repairs and if perhaps she could have a replacement in the meantime. Toma was hesitant at first but relented, passing Arya a single sword. He promised to be done with the repairs in a few days, and Arya thanked him, heading back to Stella and Cha Cha Buch.

"I know my people well, miss," said Cha Cha Buch as Arya approached them once again. His voice was deep, rumbling slightly with each syllable. "I know quite well that they do not want to fight. We are a peaceful tribe. If they are being this aggressive, then they are being made to fight. Perhaps against their will. I do not want more fighting between my people and yours, but the one claiming to be the new chief must be stopped."

"Well, it's the least I can do I guess. You were kind enough to fix me up." Arya grumbled. She didn't like the thought of owing the lizardman a favor. It didn't sit well with her at all. Cha Cha Buch smiled warmly at her. "So, when do I start?"

"As soon as you have back up. For now, just get some rest and see the town. I'll come get you when I'm ready for you." Stella replied. Arya nodded, walking back to the smithy to help Toma as much as she could. Having the knowledge to wield a weapon was one thing, but taking care of them was another. The short blacksmith welcomed the help with a wide grin.

"Yours will be excellent, miss forest elf." Lara smiled as her appetite was filled as she sapped away a part of the elf's mana. Just as expected, not only its power but also its flavour was unlike anything she had tasted before. Her body felt cleansed from the toll that Lunæ Lumen took on it. In fact, it was so powerful, Lara could take them out quicker than she expected. "You won't see me often, but you can call me Tureen if you wish. Now, let me get us out of here." "As the red moon wears off for the night, I ask for the god of darkness and the protective light of the goddess to take this world away. Hereby, I announce that the two opposing forces are no longer in contact and should remain as such. Crepusculum."

The room appeared again as the black sphere drowned into her body and she used the excess energy back into the seals carved on the horn she had left with Dust. Her eyes returned to their normal colour and the marks on her face vanished. She slowly got up and almost lost her balance as her vision got blurry. It was the normal side effects of Lunæ Lumen, even with the purest mana, there was no way of getting rid of them. After a minute she was able to stand, but her head was killing her. She smiled and made a small bow to the other elves as she took slowly her leave, pretending to be in a good shape.

How long would this fly last? Most importantly, where in the world were those two mercenaries she worked with back in Elder? With some luck, she would find them there if she returned.

"Your dragon is quite curious. He hasn't gone out into the world like you right?"

Truly, the view was beautiful and nostalgic. Wally's Memorial Bridge is still as finely built as she remembered. The sky seemed brighter than usual. Rain's hand brushed over Ash's hat, and a wave of sadness hits her unexpectedly.

"Henrir's Time and Space...to think we have to do it again..."

"It's a place where we fight everything and anything we encountered with no end in sight. Anyone without resolve would surely lose their sanity and their life. What are the chances of us making it through?"

"Not very high unfortunately..."

Rain decides to leave that thought to herself and turns to Steele. He looked nervous around her, actively avoiding her gaze.

"U-Umm...Steele? Can you tell me where you met that Henrir fanatic? Chances are that the space there is still unstable..."

As soon as Tureen left, Dust let go a small groan. He still felt the pain from his previous injuries, but that's a small price for anything. "I'm heading towards the sky deck, I'm sure Add is probably mad for being so late.. And tired." He took two steps forward before looking back.

"You better rest for a while. You just got yourself purified and there's a small side effect to the old ways, where you may feel dizzy for sometime during the day. We'll start training as soon as your dizziness stops." That was for the best after all, he need Samael to somewhat treat the pain for a bit. Dust hates it when he does it, though.

"Here, take this." He dropped a mana droplet on her hands. "Suck on that, it'll help you for a while. And don't worry, I've got plenty more of those." He then noticed that burnt spot on the floor from the ritual. "I'll clean that later." Afterwards he left the room.

As he stretched, some of his joints popped into place, apparently every purification the amount of pressure in them increases ten fold, making it a discomfort experience. He was used to it by now.

Moving along the hallways and passing a few doors, he reached his destination.

"Uh..." He looked at the scene and was honestly a little lost in the fray. He saw Oblivio being hugged by Add and the former was crying. "I'll... Come back later." He said while slowly backing away.

Oblivio/Carna

After all these years of not forgiving himself...but was it too late? Was this too late? He found fear in thinking of that. What if it was too late? He tried not to think about it, but what if Hennon...what if Hennon knew this? Maybe Hennon did know it. That man had a talent for foreseeing things. It was as if he planned everything from the start. As long as Hennon was alive, things would always be too late.

Carna remembered the experiments from three centuries ago. They were trying to turn him into something else. Into a stronger beast. All those centuries spent being strengthened in the Void made it worse. Some parts of him were no longer human.
