Just him pinning colour on people based on how they sound, mostly. Usually, by voice, but in Alex's case, the sound of his phone pecking. His senses do mingle a lot more than a normal person's would and he may actually be diagnosed with synesthesia, more specifically projective auditory-tactile synthesia, if he were in our setting. Since New Miami doesn't really often provide medical services, especially psychological, to grunts, he is undiagnosed.Birb said:

What about fainting? Like, maybe the fighters. Or from an attack with a pipe or something like that? Is that possible for a non-Narc?

It is, but the Colosseum Medics have all kinds of ways (medicinal) to get people back on their feet.
If you were attacked and knocked out, you could explain it to the cops, who may or may not believe you. You'd have to essentially prove you didn't just fall asleep.
As far as fainting without cause, the Nudge patch would prevent that (when functioning properly)
