CHARLES 'CHESS' CHESTER

@PowderSnow @StoneWolf18 @LittleLupin

(No problem at all. We sort of need shórt posts at the moment to speed things up... As shown by my entries, heh...)

The otter. Maybe the otter was big enough to carry the mouse-girl away. It certainly would have a better grip than a little frog.

"How far can you go? It's about three times farther than it is as the crow flies."

Josh was at least 5,000 feet in the air. No, seriously. He was a bald eagle. He flew around, the rain banging on his feathers until he found what he was looking for. The bar. Josh swooped down while simultaneously changing out of his eagle form. Just as he became human he landed on the side walk and walked into the bar. "Whats up everyone, Im new in town!" He yelled happily and sat down at a table.

Chess tensed up again and stared at the new arrival to the bar. Who the hell does this guy think he is? he thought, rubbing the nape of his neck once more with a blood-soaked palm. People can't keep coming in here. I'll get put behind bars if this gets reported.

"Otter kid, grab the mouse and get out before someone sees you in here," Chess insisted, whipping around constantly. He kept seeing shadows outside of the window. Were there more people out there? He couldn't let them in. "On seocnd thought, shift after you get outside. Where nobody can see you. Got it?"

@ChronosCoded

@Dominaiscna @ProjectMischa

Francesca glanced at Josh from the corner of her eye, but didn't react to him. Instead, she nodded briskly to Chess and picked up the wounded dormouse carefully and dashed out the door. She soon dipped into an alley and set the mouse onto the ground, before shifting into her otter form and picking the mouse up again. After that, she left the alley and started running down the streets. She didn't get even close to hospital, however, before she turned her head for just a minute and ended up crashing head-first into someone's legs. Aw crap.

She stumbled backwards, almost dropping the mouse.

Oops.

This'll hafta do :/

Also, idk much about eagles but an eagle flying 90,000 feet high in a thunderstorm and them spotting the bar he wanted to go to without having been there before is impressive.

Those pair of legs happened to belong to a girl who happened to be Aeola who happened to be bending down to pick up a piece of coin from the ground who happened to look at the dormouse who happened to have a wound on her back which happened to jog something in her memory.

Or at least it was a hunch. Bending forward, eyes taking on the aura of that of a predator, she picked up the otter by the scruff before lifting it off the ground to her eye level. "What do we have here? Where are you off to in such a rush?" She asked with an interested grin on her face.

(Oh it's fine @PowderSnow, it's good. Stuff's happening. I edited the eagle's altitude so it would at least be within Earth's atmosphere haha... Also, nice new background (^.^) )

Gone. That was it. The otter kid had grabbed the mouse and got out. It was a step closer to some kind of a cleanup, but without any context, the interior of the bar looked like a murder scene. Blood, smashed glass and witnesses.

He allowed himself to breathe a sigh and slow down to think, to plan. Having spent all his money on housing and clothes, there was nothing left over to pass a bribe. His best hope was for the people in the bar to just run along and keep quiet. Yeah, right... What are the chances of that? snorted the voice in his mind again.

@StoneWolf18 @Dominaiscna @ProjectMischa

Francesca growled. Or at least, tried to growl. In reality, it was more of a scared whine. And she was most definitely scared. Even more so when she realized she probably looked like a murderer. Or someone making an attempt to steal a soul. Or both. Upon this realization, she let out another whine, this time a lot higher pitched.

She shifted into her human form and rubbed the back of her neck, which was ever so slightly sore from being grabbed.

"I-i-it's... it's not what it l-looks like, I sw-swear..!" Francesca said, an air of panic in her voice.

Thanks :)

Also, I likely won't be able to reply again for several hours. I have Scouts.
:/

Alva raised an eyebrow as he looked at the otter, who then transformed into another woman. What's with all of the activity out this late at night? And in a thunderstorm no less? People were crazy. He glanced between this new lady and the little injured mouse with a gash on its back. Tonight has just been getting weirder and weirder by the second. "You should probably start explaining, then. And fast." Alva responded, though it probably didn't sound that intimidating coming from him.

(Earth's atmosphere.. Lol)

"What's this you have here?" Aeola questioned, genuinely enjoying the flustered-ness of the girl. She had a feeling that the otter girl wasn't a murderer, not with her current state of mind...unless she was putting on an act.. Then that would be a whole nother case.

"You don't look like the type to deak with this kind of stuff... " she commented, scrutinizing her with her eyes as if she was trying to deconstruct the strange, bit by bit. "Or am i mistaken?"

Damn. Raining on his day off? No, not just raining, pouring like the water-pocalypse is coming, with the ground shaking from furious lightning and pounded by countless droplets of water. My armour better not get rusty, I paid a fortune for this stuff. He poked a foot forward, leaning a bit, then withdrew himself back under the overhang. The only liquid he like to feel on him was the blood of his enemies, otherwise it felt extremely uncomfortable, making the heavy trench coat chafe against his skin. But is had to be done, and he didn't want to look conspicuous by bounding 30 miles an hour down the street as a bird, so he pushed himself past the hate of water and stepped out into the deluge.

It actually wasn't as bad as he thought. His hair had been instantly plastered to his face and matted down, but really, it wasn't a problem. Grinning wildly, he strolled through puddles and sucked in the heavy air, breathing the fresh scents of rain. It was nice, but it didn't have the same... Charm as the fresh letting of blood, and the thunder could never match their perfect screams. But what was this now? Further down the road, voices came from young sounding individuals... it didn't sound violent, but he might be able to remedy that. Reaching to his side, he patted his coat, making sure his oversized machete and revolver sleeve still there. Of course they were, he would never set foot outside his frequently changing abode without them! Eyes shining in excitement, he walks faster, kicking up water and making his armor clink softly.

When he had reached the small group, he called out cheerfully, with a wide smile displayed on his face. "And what are such small children like yourselves doing out so late, and on a night like this no less! Horrible things could happen, you never know who could be a murderer... " Chuckling quietly, he waited for a response, hoping he could play out this game for as long as possible. After all, he needed something to do on his day off.

The storm was beginning to pick up again. The winds suddenly grew more powerful and the rain became thick, icy sleet. Another wave of black clouds rolled over the sky, obscuring the stars above.

Alva's eyes snapped instantly towards the direction of the new voice, chills creeping up his spine at the sound. He stared at the strange, tall man in dark, heavy clothes and immediately got a bad vibe from the man. Granted, Alva got bad vibes from everyone, but he especially got a bad one from this new stranger. He was meeting far too many strangers tonight, way more than he'd ever care to meet in his entire lifetime. He tried to avoid people, not run into all of them. This was what he got for being snarky and asking questions. Though, he had to admit, even though this new guy freaked him out, he really hated how the stranger referred to him as a little child. He was not a little child! Sure, he had a baby face, but he couldn't help it!

Alva glanced up at the sky as darker clouds rolled in and as the rain turned to frigid, icy sleet. He was gonna get a nasty cold if he stayed out any longer chatting to any of these people, and he had a feeling that he needed to get out of there anyway. "I'm sorry," Alva responded with a glance at the stranger, "My daddy always said, 'Never talk to strangers!' Besides, we're just talking about fish and how much we hate them. Completely uninteresting."

He glanced between the two girls, and the mouse, subtly checking to see if it was still breathing before letting out a small sigh and addressing the less frightening people, "Come on . . . friends. Let's continue this talk at home, okay? We can't catch a cold, that would suck." At that he started heading in the opposite direction of the stranger, towards the direction of his own home. He subtly motioned for the two women to follow him, hoping they'd catch on and not stand there like a bunch of imbeciles.

Alec finished cleaning up the vast majority of the glass just in time to see Francesca leave. The storm didn't look lile it would calm down any time soon. He stood back up and looked over at Chess. "Can I please stay until the storm passes? I'll keep quite about this, go with whatever story you tell, whatever you want. I'll even buy a drink. Just don't make me go out there."

@StoneWolf18 @Dominaiscna @ProjectMischa @Yaoke Saint

Francesca glanced between the three strangers. Deciding she'd be better off with the two ladies than the other newcomer, she quickly apologized to the man and went off to follow the two ladies, dormouse in tow.

"I'm supposed to be taking her to the doctor." Francesca told the strangers.

And of course, she probably wasn't going to make it there at any reasonable time now. Especially not in the sleet.

Did it really have to start hailing? As if rain wasn't bad enough.

"....I don't suppose either of you could help, could you..?" She really hated to ask for help from strangers, but at this point there really wasn't much of an option.

It took a few seconds for Chess to turn back to face Alec. He absentmindedly stroked the bare smoothness of his hairless chin. There was always the possibility of betrayal. But did this stoat man look like a traitor? Stop thinking like that. Not everyone is against you anymore.

With an agonising slowness, Chess nodded, though his round eyes had disappeared behind his thick spectacles again and his expression was turned stony once more. When he spoke, though, his voice was oddly soft.

"...All right. Stay if you need to, but steer clear and let me clear up this mess. Got it?"

(Poor Alva's pouting in a corner like "I'm not a lady ;.;" xD )

"Oh, you're such a girl!" Alva responded playfully, acting while they were still getting away, "Squealing at water like that. It's just water!" He turned a quick corner onto another street, moving at a quicker pace now that they were further away from the creepy old man. The sooner they got away from him, the better off they'd be. His playful manner quickly reverted back to its usual, grouchy demeanor as he glanced between the two girls and addressed the more timid woman, "Well, a doctor is a really long way away, so that plan's outta the way."

He pinched the bridge of his nose and exhaled softly. I can't believe I'm doing this, he thought to himself. "My dad's pretty good at patching up injuries. We have to do it all the time. Really easy to slice yourself open while gutting fish. He's probably at home now, wondering where the hell I went, so if you want to take that option, be my guest. Not that you really have many options to begin with," Alva muttered softly.

(Was tempted to say something on that xD poor Alva)

Bending down as if she was going to tie her shoelaces (had she any to start with) Aeola carefully removed the small form Raphael from the inside of her boot. Oddly enough, it was fairly spacious in her boot so it would see that the little creature hadn't sustained any more injuries on the run to escape the creepy man.

Hlding the dormouse out to Fran, she looked back over at Alva with eyes that turned guarded within seconds. It would seem that now the immediate danger seemed to have left, her cautioness returned. "That mouse is nearly dead so... If you dont mind it, please, i think some help would be highly appreciated." The look she gave him was genuinely pleading. She didn't want the death of another person on her hands even though she had done nothing directly to contribute to that person's death... Besides a rough ride in her shoe.

( xD Indeed, but, I made him look a little more girly on purpose so I'm sure lots of characters will have fun mistaking him for a girl at first xD )

Alva nodded curtly, "Yep, that's where we're going. To get help." He took another turn and quickly walked up towards a shabby looking house, one of the average homes found in this district. He barged in through the door, quickly ushering for the two to hurry inside where, while it probably wasn't warmer due to no heating, they were at least out of the rain and hail. He moved towards the center of the room, glancing around and calling for his father before the tall, burly man approached.

He was similar in skin tone, eye color, and hair color to Alva, but, like Alva's brothers, he was definitely more masculine-looking. "Alvie? Where ya been all night, boy?" he asked in his gruff voice, then glanced at the two ladies behind Alva, "And who're these young ladies? Friends of yours?" He grinned cheekily, "Did ya finally learn how to talk to girls?"

Alva's face turned bright red, right up to his ears in embarrassment, "Dad, please stop. Just . . no." He groaned in exasperation and gestured a little more frantically at the two girls in irritation, pointing to the dying mouse, speaking through clenched teeth, "This little mouse girl person is dying, can you patch her up, please? And stop embarrassing me?"

His father chuckled and then walked closer, looking over the dormouse and inspecting the gash carefully, "Looks rather nasty. Alvie, get me something to clean this up. And," he looked at the two ladies with a polite gaze, "would you two ladies mind setting 'er down on that table over there. Should be sturdy enough."

(Tis a little lengthy, had to have his dad publicly embarrass the poor boy xD )

Well I'm an idiot. lmao.

Francesca stared blankly at Alva's father. Well... he was certainly an... interesting person. She looked between the several different people around her, unsure of what to do, before turning back to Alva's father.

"Er... it's nice to meet you, sir." She said politely. "Thanks for the help."

She glanced at Aeola and the dormouse and waited for it to be placed on the table.

.......

also, the other one was a guy? Oops.

( "the other one" LOL not even a person xD )

Aeola stood for a moment, biting the inside of her cheek in order to stifle the laugh that was building up in her throat. The way the father treated his son was quite entertaining and it brought a smile to her face thinking how close they must've been... But her smile seemed to fade as this reminded her that she had no father anymore... She had no family to tease her, people she could trust with her life and everything she loved...

Abruptly, she took a seat on the table, eyes moving to the room in order to distract herself. It was quite a comfy, cozy place, in comparison to her only little shack thing. She really couldn't wait to get a better profession.

( xD pffft!)

Alva returned to his father's side with a small glass of homemade disinfectant, made from water, salt, and vinegar mixed together. He set it on the table next to the little mouse. "Here you go," he said quietly, handing his father a small cloth to soak the disinfectant into.

His father ruffled the boy's hair, smiling, "Thanks, Alva. Look around, see if you can find any bandages. If not, we might have to stitch it up. You might have to do that, your fingers are smaller than mine."

Alva groaned, immediately smoothing his hair back out and moving it out of his face, "Right."

His father glanced at the mouse again, trying to see if it was awake or not. It honestly was hard to tell, given how small the mouse was. "If you can hear me, little mousey," he rumbled gently, "this might sting just a teeny bit." He removed the cloth from the glass and gently rubbed it against the gash on the dormouse's back.

Unknowing what events had occurred while she was unconscious, Raphael arched her back slightly as the disinfectant was rubbed on the wound. This bringing her back to the world of the living, she slowly blinked heavy lidded eyes a few times, trying to figure out what the hell was currently happening. Feeling odd, the woman gave herself a glance before a startled squeak erupted out of her. It made sense why the man had gotten rid of those souls, no one would purchase that of a mouse.
