Realistic or Modern OOC: Santa Monica Home for Boys and Girls [Reboot!]

Don't worry I'll make him turn around eventually, but it's not gonna be like boom right away. I wanna make it at least realistic: I don't think it's realistic to think someone like this would immediately become talkative lol, it's gonna happen slowly since the character of Jack is so stubborn.

Oh yeah I get it. Felix meanwhile is a naturally talkative kid, he loves hanging out with people. So that wasn't going to be an issue for him.
Similarly though he's got things, that'll take a super long time in character to resolve. Like his newfound fear of cars for one (out of a few things)

Just his shyness does very much limit some interactions. (Does create some interesting ones, like him burning his bridge with Ev' there)

Yea it does create some interesting ones but limits others.

I just on't want you guys to worry, I'm not gonna make this boring for everyone eventually he will come around. He'll never be super talkative and outgoing but he will turn around eventually and be more open to talking to people, but that's a long time in the future. I don't wanna rush his character development.

Haha yeah that’s pretty much the same thing i said to one of my friends that i had known since middle school when he came out as trans and transitioned.
I was just like i really mean no disrespect and will do my absolute best to use the right pronouns and not deadname you but i have known you as one thing for so long that i know i will screw up at some point but please understand its an accident and i am so sorry in advance.

Your good Edric i’m a bit emotionally invested in seeing jack open up and become more social so i may get frustrated some times but its mostly just that frustration you get when your trying to help a friend and its not working ya know?

But he should develop and grow in the way you see it happening

I get it I just feel like since all of your characters are super outgoing and I'm playing an introvert, it kind seems like I'm lacking, but I'm conflicted because I don't wanna write my character and destroy his character development. I like a slow burn when it comes to this kinda stuff, but if you want me to rush it for the sake of your sanity, I'll try my best.

No. No. Please don't feel the need to rush it. Take your time as much as you want - just like Kai my frustration is at wanting to help him and him being soo stubborn. That and just knowing there might be times where we can't interact with you because the character is too stubborn to accept it.

Right now my major concern is like obviously while Asher right now is very interested in hanging out with Jack, he's the only character. Felix would only do so right now if Jack is doing something sport related and he decided to butt in with it. Nathan I don't know. Ev' the bridge has been burnt down for the time being.

Asher obviously like with the car washing earlier, wont always be there.

The Rp is not in any danger so dont feel the need to rush anything I love Jack as a character and am excited to see things play out and see what your vision is for him.
I just play very outgoing characters cause its who i am and i find it hard to play characters who aren’t outgoing. Like in the book i am writing i have a character who is super introverted like almost worse than Jack and any scene with him in it takes me like 3x as ling to write cause im just not great at getting into that headspace.

I'm honestly ok with Jack just hanging out with Asher. I know that seems kinda boring but I don't mind it too much. That's why I was thinking in the back of my mind of POSSIBLY creating a new character, but I don't know I feel like it would interrupt what we have going on and I don't wanna ruin that, so those plans are just random thoughts running around in the way back of my mind.

Also, I find it easy and appealing to write for Jack because I relate to him being an introvert myself. While I'm not as stubborn and shy as Jack, I really sympathize with the character and I honestly like writing characters like him, as weird as it may sound to like writing shy introverts lol.

I'm just conflicted here because I am getting the feeling you all might want me to kind of push Jack, but I'm having a hard time bringing myself to rush his development. I'm just conflicted here. I wanna continue as is but I know that's not considerate to you guys.
