Light Light I'll review your edits this evening. Yet again my ISP had perfect timing and killed my internet in the few hours I had free this afternoon.

Why does the world have to do this to you?
They are probably running new cables to replace all of the ones in the area cause of Irma. I hope that is the reason, because this is day 3 of their perfect damn timing. >_> In OTHER news.

Vampunk Vampunk I've skimmed your CS a bit, have to think on the whole possession thing, but I assure you, it's basically you're a human race with a curse sorta deal, rather than anything under bestial.
JustNicole JustNicole Haven't had a chance to review your CS yet, trying to catch up on everything. X3 It is on my to-do list though!

Since everything is just now starting, it's that phase of TOO MUCH GOING ON.

Fable Fable Is Adriel clear to join Mission 0 is she going to be a different future mission? The "wait for your first mission" has me uncertain :)
She can join in, but she would be late and suddenly walking in on a water fight.

Same for you Light Light
You can join the mission, but would be late, coming in to witness a water gun fight.

I know both of you are still working on a CS and have experienced delays. However, I will be placing down a deadline of December 18th. If there isn't a finalized CS up for review by this time, I will remove you from the RP.

So, if you are interested in roll modifiers, I have begun a spreadsheet. However, to try and save some time for myself I want to give you guys a chance to suggest what you think your character deserves for these roll modifiers. Firstly, they are broken down into two main categories; Physical and Magical. Rather than break everything down by a single attribute, it's simply defense and offense.

Modifiers are not also only a bonus to a roll, but also a penalty. Meaning, you cannot give your character a bonus modifier for every section, you have to consider your character's weakness and give them a penalty if it calls for it. So, if your character isn't a skilled fighter, you would give yourself a negative modifier, or even just leave it as 0.

Since we're trying to have all PCs mostly on the same playing field, you will only be allowed a certain amount of modifier points you can apply. You may only use a total of 6 modifier points across the 4 sections, the highest bonus modifier being 5. You can give yourself more points in a section (not exceeding 5) by giving yourself a penalty, such as -5 defense, will give you 5 points to place as a bonus elsewhere. If your character is not magically inclined, you will have 0 points in magical offense for the simple fact that you are unable to use magic.

Before asking if that means non-magical players get some special bonus to themselves the answer is yes. As a non-magical character, you can exceed the max of a 5 point allotment and have it be 6, just so that you may use all your points like a magic user.

So, here is what I want from you, if you want to benefit from the roll modifiers;
You have 6 total points to use over 4 sections; Physical Defense, Physical Offense, Magical Defense, Magical Offense.
You need to break down and tell me where you want your points to go. Remember, this is just a suggestion on your part. If you have a weak character and give yourself an unrealistic amount of points in a section, you can expect to be told to rework your stats. You have to base the points around your PC's powers/abilities/skills. So if your character is weak in offense, do not give them max point there, it wouldn't make any sense.

Here is the spreadsheet set up currently, with two examples;

You are not required to give me modifiers if you do not want to. I will be updating the system information when I get a chance to type all this down.

Modifiers, if you're confused about them basically affect your roll. If you roll a 50 on a defense, but have a bonus of 5, you actually get a 55 total for your defensive roll. If your defense is weak and you give yourself a penalty of say -3, if you roll a 50, your roll would change to 47. It doesn't seem like it affects much with such minor points, but just as your character can increase their hits, they can increase their modifiers throughout the RP as well.

Again, I have to update the system information to reflect everything that is being changed/updated.

Physical Defense: -2
Physical Offense +5
Magical Defense: 0
Magical Offense: +3

-Janus tends to worry about how injured his is when he's not directly in combat, and can fight riskily if it helps him achieve his objective. Not to mention he sometimes relies on just his magic to avoid damage, hence a lower physical defense.
-Janus is particularly gifted in dealing killer blows, understandably, so he has a higher physical offense stat.
-Janus is also pretty skilled now in using his portals in tactical places, either to get himself around or fend off incoming attacks.
-Janus' portals can deal damage by slicing people up in various ways, but isn't skilled enough yet in this area to do that, so no modifiers here for now.

My question is: can we have modifiers and rolls for other things too? Like, Janus would likely have a -5 roll for charisma when trying to charm someone, or a -10 roll when trying to resist being mentally manipulated if another PC was trying to do so? Or perhaps more niche stuff like a +10 roll when dealing final killer blows, seeing as he's an assassin? Or more particularly tank people can get an extra roll to see if they can resist some damage, supposing someone's attack roll hits them?

Just a few ideas. ^u^;;

No, getting into to those is literally just too much. That is stuff that can be relayed with normal text roleplay reactions. The PCs themselves can decide how they react to each other, not the rolls. It can always be planned OOCly how you want things to go for certain interactions, or just let the other PCs react they way they do.

The point of this system was to reduce the complication that comes from most dice systems that turn people away; roll a save, roll for this, roll for that. It gets excessive and in this format of RP, it's too much. If this was a pure dice RP, sure it'd be that way, but it is not.

Fair enough. : P
So, are my modifiers coolio?

Now the question is, do you believe your magic is defensive or offensively based? Did you place those points into magical defense because you view the skill as only defensive? There may be cases where he uses them offensively, such as what he did in the gym portaling PCs outside of the gym. I figured I would bring this up for you to consider on, unless you want to leave your points as is.

Oh ye, I forgot those counted as attacks. Hmm, might swap them then.
