The nurse sighed some and shook her awake "Mrs.Daniels? Your husband is out of surgery and sedated for the night. He pulled through, they're keeping him for observation though. We almost lost him twice." She said softly before taking her to see Jack.

Max gave a small nod and stayed with him the whole time just thankful he wasn't leaving. After hours of staying there she finally got up as her stomach growled "There any food here?" She asked softly

He shook his head, "No, al got finished at the party, you wanna order a pizza in?" He asked her, standing up and lighting a cigarette, his jeans hanging low on his waist with his shirt still on the floor somewhere thanks to the faulty AC and the middle of summer. "You want a beer?" He asked her, slipping an arm around her shoulders while he moved closer to her.

Carmen nodded thanking her quietly, pausing in the doorway of his room and slowly sank into the chair near the bed, staring at him worriedly, taking his hand in hers and just watched him, swallowing back tears until his doctor came in to speak ot her, "What's the uh.... what's the damage?" She asked, clearing her throat some.

Max shook her head softly and watched him biting her lip some "No...I don't want a beer." She murmured before moving to face him letting her hands roam his bare torso "Pizza does sound good though." She murmured before she peppered kisses along his jaw and neck

The doctor sighed some and sat down across from her "One bullet was nothing fatal, hit the shoulder went straight through quick patch up. The second one however was a gut shot, and it didn't go straight through. We did the best we could to patch him up, but right now its touch and go. It hit his intestines which we did our best to repair but we will have to wait and see."

He smiled some, "Well I'm gonna go get a beer, pick whatever pizza you want okay?" He murmured, pecking her cheek and headed out to the front of house again, looking over at Angel, heading over to him, "I hope you're pleased with yourself.... Cause I don't know what you've heard but Carmen's husband got shot today... So great job on your part." He spat at him, "Every time people get hurt around me, it seems to be you at the center. So for your sake I hope no heat comes back this way for it." He spat at him before going to grab a drink and headed back to the room again.

She nodded and frowned some, swallowing again, "What are his chances?" She asked worriedly, glancing over at him again at a noise on the monitor but it settled quickly and she relaxed for a minute, tensing when he said they would be lucky if Jack made it through the week, nodding at him and waited til he left again, burying her face into his hand, kissing his palm again and keeping an eye on him

Angel frowned more shaking his head "She fucking betrayed us and then I let her go....then she fucking comes here and acts like she is in the clear? Like nothing she did happened? Fuck that." He spat thankful that everyone else was gone for the time being

Potter came in and looked over at Jack tilting his head to the side a bit "Shame....he had great potential..." he murmured looking over at Carmen

Carmen glared at him and grit her teeth, "What the fuck are you doing here?!" She spat at him, "He wasn't on the job, he's going to be okay." She muttered forcefully, refusing to believe that he wouldn't make it.

Coco turned around and glared at him, "And so pushing my girl over the edge... to the point she was going to kill somebody... That makes it worht it?! IF you want her fucking dead then do it yourself!" He yelled at him, "Are you forgetting that she's from this world too?! When Adelita was taken from you?! What was your first thought?! Let the authorities handle it?! No you fucking wanted revenge!" He snapped "So you think Carmen is gonna forget about most of her life and be sensible?! If her husband dies she's gonna keep a level head?! If she comes after me or my girls I will happily send her ass to your front door!" He snapped, getting up in Angel's face before turning around and walking back to his room, fuming with him

Max frowned as Coco came back fuming "Babe?" She asked quietly now only in his t shirt getting up and kneeling on the bed placing her hands on his shoulders "Talk to me papí." She whispered rubbing his shoulders some.

Potter shook his head some placing his hands behimd his back standing in one of his usual poses "His love for you out weighed his love for the job he had to do.....I wish I could say I did not know that." He murmured "I hope he pulls through." He said before turning around and leaving her

She broke down sobbing as she held onto his hand tightly, eventually falling asleep out of exhaustion and stayed in the chair next to his bed through the night.

Coco frowned shaking his head. “Chuckys gonna pick your pizza up for you alright?” He murmured and leaned back against the pillows rubbing his eyes some. “I’m gonna go to bed, before I change my mind and tear Angel a new one.@ he muttered, shutting his eyes and trying to relax.

Max nodded some and went through the night being quiet with everything finally getting some sleep around 3 in the morning. She was still paranoid about it all and was worried about what might happen to her. She woke up in the morning early looking like a complete wreck sighing heavily.

Jack grunted some as he tried to get up not remembering what happened fully. He quickly started to panick as he tried to reach for Carmen remembering the woman with the gun but he thought she had been shot not him

She grumbled some as she started waking up but jumped a bit when she felt his hand squeeze hers sharply, looking up and moved to be next to him more. “Jack baby I’m here. Don’t move too much alright? Hold on.” She murmured, pressing the call button and carefully moved to be in his line of sight so he didn’t have to move. “I’m right here, I’m okay, just a minute they’re gonna come help you baby.” She murmured softly to him, “oh it’s so good to see those eyes open.” She smiled.

Coco woke up in an empty bed and groaned a little, pulling himself up and going to take a leak, smiling some hearing the shower going and stripped off, stepping under the water with her, “morning... you sleep okay?” He asked her, his voice coarse from only just waking up.

Jack looked at her with panicked eyes trying to figure out what happened but he couldn't talk due to the tube down his throat. His monitors started going haywire when his heart sped up and quickly the nurses rushed in to help getting Carmen of the room

Max screeched and jumped out of her skin as he came in taking a deep breath as she looked back at him her eyes showing that she hadn't slept really "Hey...I....I slept okay.." she lied

“Uh huh, and I’m a body builder.” He muttered kissing her forehead, pulling her into his arms smiling some. “Aren’t you lucky our daughter didn’t get your hair?” He teased gently and swayed slowly with her.

“Jack... Jack it’s okay, try to relax.” She frowned as tHey pushes her out of the room, just waiting outside and chewing on her nails while she stayed right outside the door.

Max gave a small sigh and laughed lightly at the hair comment "But she could be a ginger like me." She murmured wrapping her arms around his neck and kissing him lovingly running her fingers through his hair just the way he liked it

Jack settled a little more when they got the tube out of him "My wife.....is she...okay?" He asked quietly reaching out for Carmen when they let her back in

Carmen got over to him quickly and took his hands “Shh, Jack honey you gotta calm down okay? I’m fine, scared shitless about you but I’m okay.” She promised him quietly, relaxing once she saw him relax against the pillow. “Careful with your shoulder okay? That ones just tissue damage they said but other bullet did a fair bit of damage.” She explained, watching him.

He smiled some and kissed her softly. “Mmm, I love you.” He murmured to her happily, “What are you gonna do about work?” He asked her quietly so they could be on the same page with everything

Max frowned some having not thought about her job at all "I guess I'll have to go. I can't not show up..." she said quietly biting her lip some and giving a heavy sigh "Coco....I should turn myself in....I shouldn't hide for my mistake. I can't just hide forever." She whispered taking a deep breath

Jack frowned some and held her hand tight "She....she had a gun....why would she...want to hurt you?" He asked panting some as he tried to get into a more comfortable position

“Jack stop moving hold on.” She murmured, standing up and helping him get comfortable, sitting down again and just held his hand tightly. “I don’t know. I don’t know who she is... but I know that you are never allowed to scare me like that ever again.” She told him quietly, chewing on her lip. “The other bullet did a lot more damage, went through your intestines, they’ve done what they can to help it heal but you might be in for more surgery if things don’t go right.” She explained quietly, squeezing his hand again.

Coco frowned some shaking his head. “No, no you’re not turning yourself in for this. I’m gonna work it out okay?” He promised, kissing her forehead “I’m gonna keep you safe I promise.” He murmured. “She might not have even seen you.”

Jack took a deep breath and nodded softly kissing her hand gently as he got situated "I'll be okay sugar, they ain't taking me out that easily." He murmured softly to her

Max gave a small nod and sighed heavily "She saw me Coco.....I know she did." She whispered before she hid her face in his chest just letting the hot water hit the two of them

She frowned and watched him, brushing a bit of hair out of his face and sat on the edge of the bed carefully. “I would prefer it if they didn’t take you out at all.” She murmured to him, smiling some. “You want me to get you anything? I just need to grab a drink okay?” She murmured

Coco frowned not knowing what he could say to make it all better, just holding her to him tightly until the hot water ran out.

Jack gave a small chuckle and nodded some "Yeah I know, I'll be okay though." He murmured shaking his head some "Just some water maybe, if they're allowing me to drink anything. Gut wound is tricky."

Max gave a heavy sigh as she got out of the shower and dried off frowning when she heard the guys yelling for Coco "Go see what it is, I'll be okay here." She murmured

She frowned, squeezing his hand gently, "Then you shouldn't have got in the way." She mumbled, pecking his cheek and sighed some, "I love you, I'll get you some water but I promise to ask the nurse first." She murmured, kissing his cheek again and stood up, heading out of there to get herself a drink, worried sick about him.

Coco headed otu there and sighed heavily running a hand through his hair and glaring at Angel, seeing him waiting in the hallway "What do you want?" He muttered

Angel frowned some at him and glared him down as well "Cops are out front....want to talk to you." He spat before he stormed off to his own room

Jack frowned at her comment but let it go not wanting to start anything. He knew she hated this but he would do anything to save her and he wouldn't just let her take a bullet and not try to protect her

She went to grab a drink before starting to head back to his room, asking a nurse if he could have some water, thanking her and going in, seeing him asleep again already and just sighed quietly, rubbing her face, curling up on the chair and watched some TV while she kep an eye on him.

He just nodded and headed out the front frowning some to talk to the cops, seeing Letty go inside and go to the back rooms.

She walked into her Dad's room, looking over at Max, "Who is she? The woman you were gonna shoot?" She asked her curiously

Potter's goons stood out front in full stance frowning some as they looked at Coco "Mr.Cruz? Do you know this woman?" The woman asked showing the sketch they had of Max from what Carmen could remember

Max frowned shaking her head as she looked at Letty "No one you need to concern yourself with, okay?" She said softly taking a deep breath as she sat on the bed staring at the floor

She frowned and shrugged "Alright, I was just asking." She muttered "Angel seems pretty mad about her too." She muttered.

Coco looked over at them frowning some "I know her, don't know where she is though." He muttered shaking his head some

Carmen woke up to weird noises and frowned some, glancing over at Jack as she realised she'd fallen asleep but as she really woke up properly she realised that the weird noise was coming from him and that he was sweating buckets, feeling his forehead and frowned getting up quickly and pressing the call button, "Jack... Honey wake up." She coaxed gently.

Max gave a heavy sigh shakimg her head some "Long long history.." she murmured softly giving a soft sigh

Potter's men frowned more and raised an eye brow at Coco "Well if you see her, let us know." He muttered handing him his card before leaving

Jack panted and started tossing and turning from a nightmare yelling out and sitting straight up and tearing the stitches in his gut causing his monitors to go haywire
