Max stayed there with him like he had told her to and sighed softly. She got up right before he had woken up to get a drink frowning though when she heard him yelling .

Jack nodded some and gave a heavy sigh "I will do everything I can to make sure I heal up enough to make that trip home okay? I swear to you I will keep myself safe." He murmured kissing the top of her head and sighing softly. He had never seen her this shaken up before and he just wanted to make sure she felt safe.

She frowned and just buried her face into his good shoulder, sobbing, "This is all my fault." She whimpered, shaking still and holding onto him for dear life. "I'm so sorry." She sniffled, gripping the back of his neck.

He frowned in his sleep, having a nightmare about her until he woke up with a start and looked around the room, seeing Max had shaken him awake, just sighing in relief

Jack shook his head frowning more "No sugar no, its not your fault." He said quietly kissing her cheek gently "Look at me, hey look at me, this isn't your fault okay? I promise." He murmured pushing some hair from her face

Max rushed in to see him and shook his awake giving a heavy sigh as she looked at him "Coco? Hey you were having a nightmare." She whispered

"Someone was killed! Aaron! He was.... God back in the day he was a prospect with the club. He was such a great guy with a heart of gold... Just... got in with the wrong people you know? Angel told me to take off with you and I thought that was it... No he told Bishop that Aaron had been the rat! So they killed him. The woman who shot you... That was his cousin! So tell me Jack how is this not my fault?!" She sobbed, shaking like mad. In all the years she'd known him she'd never broken down. Not when their first dog died not when they lost the baby but she couldn't keep the brave face on anymore, not after almost losing him.

He groaned a little and looked up at her, "I know.... C'mere." He mumbled, pulling her down to him and into his arms, "You know that all I wanna do is protect you right?" He mumbled, his voice thick with sleep still, clearing his throat and keeping her close to him, kissing the top of her head. "You and Letty are all I have when it comes down to it and I just want to keep you both safe." He murmured softly to her

Jack frowned and kept her close seeing how bad off she was "Shh shh thats Angel's fault not yours. He kept you safe...and he decided to turn it on that guy." He murmured kissing the top of her head repeatedly "You coudln't have known he would do that." He murmured quietly to her trying his best to calm her down

Max nodded some and cuddled close to him kissing under his chin "I know baby, and you do a good job at it....we're okay alright? We're all right here." She whispered

Carmen shook her head and held onto him tightly "And what about Steve? I'm the one that told you guys to follow them... When we saw Connie and Olivia last year... That's all I could think about the whole time." She whimpered, still shaking until eventually she wore herself out and fell asleep against him.

He frowned and nodded, keeping her close "I love you." He murmured softly. "Letty wanted to come across to see you tonight. She's done with school." He mumbled quietly, "I told her it was up to you." He mumbled tiredly.

Max smiled happily at him and nodded some "Of course, I always have time for her." She said softly kissing him gently "But for just a little longer I want some time with my man." She murmured

Jack sighed heavily shaking his head "Babe we both knew the risks we were taking that night. Its not your fault I promise." He murmured softly

He smiled tiredly and watched her some, "Did I say I was letting you out of my arms yet?" He murmured, pressing his hips into her some, "Plus... I ay we earn a second nap." He growled to her with a smirk, moving to hover over her.

Carmen woke up a couple hours later to the sound of Jack throwing up, frowning some and getting up, still feeling like crap but went to sit with him in the bathroom, rubbing his back gently while she murmrued to him

Max smirked and groaned some biting his bottom lip before pushing her hips into his "Mmmm do whatever you want.." she said seductively

Jack took a deep breath looking at Carmen as she came in pressing his face to the cool tub "Hey...sorry if I woke you." He murmured

She shook her head icking up a damp flannel and gently dabbing at his forehead, "No you're good." She croaked out, her voice gone from all her crying. "You got anymore coming?" She asked him gently, flushing the toilet when he said no and got him some water to sip on, kissing his head, "Just sit there a minute alright? Try to relax." She murmured tiredly. "You gonna eat any dinner?" She mumbled, sitting on the closed toilet seat and watching him some, still worrying about him like mad.

He grinned and pushed her further into the mattress... He lay next to her after and lit a cigarette, smiling over at her, "You really want us to maybe have another kid?" He asked her quietly, pulling her body in close to his and turning the lights on now that it was getting dark outside.

Max bit her lip hard and nodded softly tracing patterns on his chest "Yeah I do....I think...I don't know...I just feel like we could be parents correctly this time." She whispered

Jack shook his head and sighed heavily looking at her "Yeah I'll eat something small." He murmured softly reaching up to her for help getting up

She helped him to his feet and kissed his chin, "Come on, let's get you some toast." She murmured, getting him to the kitchen, frowning when there was a banging at the door and glanced over at Jack, heading to answer it.

He frowned some and nodded "When uh... when you can come home.... We can get started." He murmured to her gently

Max smiled softly at him and kissed him gently "If you don't want it thats okay, I won't get upset." She said softly pressing her forehead to his

Jack frowned shaking his head some "Don't answer it." He muttered taking her hand in his to keep her from going "The lights are off...pretend we aren't here." He said quietly

She frowned and shook her head "I'm not gonna leave them to try and break in if it's criminals." She muttered, going to check the peephole then sighed heavily and opened the door, "Potter... What do you want? It's ten pm." She muttered shaking her head "It's just Potter babe!" She called to Jack.

He smiled and kissed her gently, "Did I say no? I just don't think pregnancy and having cops on your tail is a good combination." He pointed out. "Why don't... I got the car... why don't we go home? To my place?" He suggested quietly.

Potter gave his signature toothless smile to Carmen looking at Jack as he came into view "Ah Mr. Daniels, I came to inform you that we have reason to believe your shooter is across the border, we would like for you to help us catch her." He said hoping this could be reason enough for them to get over the border and get more intel on Galindo

Max smiled happily at him "You think thats a good idea? I thought you wanted me over the border." She murmured running and hand through his hair

“It’s been quiet enough the past few days... and soon you should be able to come home properly... I heard carmens trying to get them to go home to Kentucky. Wants to get out of here.” He told her. “Just one night couldn’t hurt.” He murmured. “My bed is comfier.” He pointed out.

Carmen frowned shaking her head. “No. No you’re not going.” She muttered looking back at him. “Jack five minutes ago you couldn’t stand up on your own.” She muttered, looking back to potter. “You have asked enough of us and I think you should leave.” She muttered going to shut the door on him but paused when she heard jack tell her to wait.

Jack frowned more and listned to them both shaking his head some "Carmen wait....let me talk with him." He murmured before making his way over to Potter giving a heavy sigh "I need to leave....get off this job and away from here."


Max nodded some and gave a small smile "Alright, and I can make us some dinner." She murmuted happily before she got up to get her shoes on and get out of there with him

She frowned shaking her head some and went to the kitchen to get some toast done for them, looking at him come back in and frowned shaking her head at the look on his face. “I don’t wanna know.... what did he say?” She mumbled as she washed the dishes a little aggressively.

“Ooh you wanna make me enchiladas?” He asked her kissing her head as he got up and got his clothes back on to head home.

Max gave a small laugh nodding softly "Yeah if you have the supplies I can make it." She murmured kissing him gently before holding his waist as she got on the back of his bike "I think maybe we should talk to Letty about us having another baby.."

Jack frowned some and gave a heavy sigh "Said if I want my last pay check then I do this....and then we're out." He muttered shaking his head more as he thought about it "He needs an answer tomorrow...I'm tempted to quit and leave tomorrow."

He smiled some. “If you want to... not sure she wants to hear about all that though.” He chuckled and headed out.

Carmen frowned and watched him. “I don’t think you can make the trip though jack.... fucking catch 22.... you go back to work then you get worse. We have to leave and you’ll get worse.” She muttered, cussing potter out under her breath while she Kept washing the glasses.

Max laughed softly and kissed his cheek while he took them home. As they got there she got off and went inside smiling wide when she saw Letty "Hey there!" She said happily going over and hugging her daughter tight.

Jack gave a heavy sigh and nodded some "I know babe, I don't know what else we can do." He muttered taking a deep breath

She frowned looking over at him and got him to sit down getting him some water and a bucket as she watched him go a little green. “We gotta clean that in a bit.” She mumbled just watching him and frowning. She was just worried sick about him.

He smiled watching them a little and went to grab a beer, heading to sit out back on the porch for a bit.

Max smiled happily and went to the kitchen to get started on dinner glancing at her daughter as she came in to sit with her "Your dad and I are thinking about having a baby....what do you think?" She asked wanting her to be okay with it as well.

Jack sat down and took a deep breath before he hurled into the bucket she had given him panting some as he watched her and glanced at his bandages "I think we should change it now."

She frowned lifting his shirt up and gently placing a hand on his tummy feeling how warm he was. “You’re burning up.” She mumbled frowning some and helped him sip some water, just keeping an eye on him til he stopped chucking up and she got him sat on the table so she could sort him out.

Coco frowned some hearing weird noises coming from the front drive and stood up from his seat putting his cigarette out and stepping out the side gate, barely having a moment to see who was out there.

Letty frowned some not really wanting to think about them like that then shrugged. “I don’t care, just not while I’m in the house please.” She muttered, getting up to get a drink when she heard several loud gunshots sounding like they were coming from the front drive.

Max laughed some and nodded some "Oh we promise not when you're here." She said frowning when she heard the gunshots dropping what she was doing and quickly pulled the gun from the spare drawer in the kitchen running out with it drawn going wide eyed and screaming when she saw Coco laying there. She quickly ran over and put his head in her lap "Coco? Oh baby no no no no." She sobbed
