Jack let her do what she needed to sighing heavily "Maybe....maybe we could rent somewhere further north....that could work...yeah?" He said panting some

She frowned some shaking her head. “Just relax for a minute alright? Don’t worry about that. We can talk about it in the morning and if potter wants an answer immediately he can get fucked.” She muttered gently cleaning around the stitches.

He was barely aware of what was going on. All he knew was that he was in the worst pain he’d ever been in and he could just about make out Max’s voice in the distance it sounded like, barely breathing and eventually passed out as the sound of sirens approached.

Max cried some and looked at Letty taking deep breaths "Come here, help him okay? I can't be seen." She said whimpering as she watched them before she ran off to hide. She knew she wanted to be there but she also knew Coco would want her not in jail

Jack smirked some and stared at the ceiling "My spit fire latina." He said softly letting her fix everything up

She smiled softly at him shaking her head. “And you’re a reckless cowboy but you’re still mine... there, that should do it. Let’s get this fever down and get you to bed.” She murmured and pecked his cheek helping him up to bed and locked up behind them.

The cops showed up right after asking letty what happened while they hauled coco away in the ambulance already trying to get him breathing again, leaving the young girl shaking and sobbing on the drive with the sheriff

Letty cried quietly as she made her way to the hospital with the sheriff trying to calm herself down but after seeing her dad laying there soaked in blood it had really shaken her up

Jack chuckled some and got up to bed with her after taking some medicine passing out almsot immediately

She frowned as she lay next to him watching him carefully. He was starting to really look his age after everything they’d been through lately and it was worrying her how long the after effects would be for him, eventually falling asleep curled up next to him.

He was taken straight through to surgery to get the bleeding stopped and the damage assessed so that they could figure out if there was any hope or not.

Max took a deep breath and got a few things from the store before she got there early the next morning her hair hidden under a dark wig and a few prosthetics to somewhat hide her features "Hi....I'm here to see Johnny Cruz." She said softly

Jack woke up in the morning groaning as he heard his phone going off see Potter's number. He shook his head and rejected the call before he went to cuddle Carmen close to him

Angel had got there just before her and turned hearing her voice and just shook his head some sighing a bit. “She’s with me.” He told the receptionist then tugged max along to the room. “You look ridiculous.... he’s not good... Letty is at the club. She doesn’t wanna be here anymore.” He muttered stepping inside and frowned at the sight of his best friend under all the tubes and wires with the machines keeping him alive just swallowing hard and sat down. “Five bullets.” He muttered.

Carmen frowned a bit and held onto him. “Five more minutes.” She grumbled a little, nestling her head under his chin.

Max looked over at Angel and rolled her eyes some "Look I gotta cover myself somehow." She muttered before pulling the prosthetic off but keeping the wig on "Oh my god.." she whispered as they got inside and rushed to his side taking his hand in hers "Who would do this?" She whimpered

Jack chuckled softly and nodded softly kissing the back of her head "Mmm okay we can do that." He murmured yawning some before he started to fall asleep

Angel frowned running a hand through his hair. “There’s a few possible answers... they’re keeping him sedated, but I’d be surprised if he makes it through the rest of the day.” He muttered shaking his head some.

Carmen smiled tiredly mumbling incoherently to him before drifting off to sleep again.

Max whimpered some and took a deep breath "You find out who did this Angel, and you make them pay." She said in a bit of rage taking deep breaths

Jack woke up a bit later and groaned some seeing he had missed five missed calls from Potter. He got up and went to the bathroom to get himself together

Angel nodded quietly and just watched Coco carefully

Carmen frowned some looking over at him and just shaking her head "What is gonna be your answer?" She asked him quietly, sitting up

Max frowned some as she watched him carefully letting a few tears fall "Keep Letty at the clubhouse okay? You keep her safe I don't want her out unless a member is with her." She said taking a deep breath "I'll be there later."

Jack sighed heavily watching her some "I'm going to quit, thankful we have enough saved up and we are going to find a rental some place outside of town while I recover." He explained

Angel chewed on his lip not ready to tell her what Letty had told him but she needed to know before she tried to go see Letty. “She uh... she doesn’t wanna be anywhere near you right now.” He mumbled, rubbing the back of his neck nervously. “She uh... she said you just left her to deal with it all.... she’s pretty upset.”

Carmen frowned some and nodded, “I’ll start getting non essentials packed up alright?” She murmured, standing up and pecking his cheek. “I’m gonna go get a coffee.” She told him. “You want me to drive you in?”

Max frowned more and took a deep breath "I had to go Angel....if I hadn't I would be behind bars and not be able to be here for them at all." She said softly letting a few tears fall at the thought of loosing her daughter now

Jack nodded some and got his shirt on "Yeah that would be great." He said softly kissing her cheek before he went to go to the living room

She nodded and smiled some. “Hey jack... I love you.” She called to him. “Soon as this place is behind us, we can start looking at starting our family.” She reminded him.

He frowned shaking his head. “You talk so much about how you didn’t want Letty to have to be a part of this life or be affected by it whatever.... then you leave her to essentially watch her father bleed to death.... so don’t give me that shit. Your freedom or your daughters wellbeing?” He muttered.

Max frowned more and took a deep breath thinking about it and sighing heavily knowing he was right. She placed her head on the bed and cried quietly just wishing everything would end up being okay

Jack nodded some and smiled at her "I know babe, I love you." He murmured stroking her cheek some

Angle just shook his head leaning back in the chair and rubbing a hand over his face to try and keep his mouth shut “I gotta go to the club house. Let them all know hiw he’s doing.... I’ll try to talk to Letty alright? I can’t promise anything.” He told her and walked out of there leaving her to privacy with coco.

She smiled and kissed his cheek getting her shoes on and got in the car with him, taking him straight down to the office then went to get a coffee

Max gave a small nod and thanked him quietly before she turned to look at Coco "I love you so much my dear, please don't go just yet." she whispered to him

Jack smiled softly as she went on and made his way to Potter's office handing his honorary badge in "I'm done with this shit, I'm taking my wife home."

Potter looked over at him and leaned back. “I would take a look at this before you give me a final answer. Personally I find it enlightening.” He told him and pushed the document on his desk towards him detailing what would be the consequences if they decided to charge him with obstruction of justice and sleeping with a witness. “I’m not sure jail time would do you or your wife much good now would it? Not to mention all the charges we could find against her to put her away.” He told him.

He was clinging on by the skin of his teeth and by the evening he’d gotten a little better, enough to wake up and look over at her weakly, his fingers curling around hers ever so slightly.

Max sat there and yawned some gasping when she felt his hand squeeze hers. She quickly pressed the call button and smiled softly seeing his eyes open "Hey there handsome." She whispered kissing his forehead gently

Jack glared at him and grit his teeth taking a deep breath shaking his head some "No you can't do that! They fired me and didn't use intel she gave!"

“I think you’ll find that I can do what I like. I’m sure I could even get you locked up without a trial if I so desired. So are you going to finish the job you signed on for.... or shall I send your wife to prison first?” He asked him with shrug not thinking anything of it while he waited for jacks answer until he watched him collapse and potter gave a heavy sigh, calmly asking for some help through the intercom.

Coco frowned as he watched her, he didn’t think he’d ever been in this much pain before and as he became more aware it seemed to get worse and worse until his monitors were sending off alarms while he gripped at her hand as tight as he could.

Jack glared at him shaking his head more until he grunted getting way to stressed and soon collapsing unabke to breath properly

Max whimpered looking at the nurse who rushed in "Help him please!" She cried

Carmen had gotten the call while she was packing up the kitchen and headed straight down to the office, fining when she was told they hadn’t called for help his getting inside and seeing him sat up on the couch with a bucket and rushed over “What happened?” She asked him worriedly, crouching in front of him.

He could hear the nurse talking to him and then another voice on his other side was calling his name as well but he just couldn’t keep his eyes open even with a bright light flashing across them, passing out while the monitors read flat.

Jack panted some looking at hrr worriedly "I have to....go across...or he'll...arrest you..." he said grunting trying to catch his breath

Max stood outside of the room in horror hearing the monitors flat line. She cried as they rushed a crash cart in and quickly called Angel
