Of Shadows and Swords (Chiarra)

She nodded, "He has." she sighed softly and got up, heading towards the window. She looked out, really wanting to be out there, but they had to wait for Archer to get up first.
 
Watching Melody walk to the window, Lucius considered what they could have possibly been doing while he slept. They must have been bored. "I'm sorry, Melody." He said softly. "The sun is up, so it can't be much longer now." Archer rarely slept very far past sunrise.
 
"It's fine," she said turning to look at him and smile. "Maybe we could try and go swimming today, if you're up for it?" Though she wasn't sure if that was a good idea at all.
 
Lucius smiled a little but shook his head. "I'd be happy enough watching the two of you from the shore, but I don't know that I'll be up to swimming. Sitting at the edges, maybe." The water might do him good in easing his aches, though, so maybe they could go.
 
She smiled at that. "Sounds like a plan then," she smiled. She drank more of her water and looked back out the window, something she had been doing the past few days when Archer was gone. She looked over at him to see if he would be waking up yet.
 
((Sorry! I got majorly distracted by webcomics I haven't caught up on in weeks O_O))


Lucius managed to drink a couple of cups and eat - all done slowly and carefully so as not to overtax his stomach after hardly eating for so long - before Archer woke up. The thief started to make a groggy sound, then sat bolt upright like he usually did because he'd fallen asleep with Lucius there and woke up with him gone.


". . . Here." Lucius said quietly, just to draw the other boy's eyes, and watched the tension fall off Archer's shoulders. "Good morning."
 
((That's fine, doing other things myself so go ahead and indulge lol ^_^ ))


She didn't say much as Lucius ate and drank, but she did bring him the food and water. When Archer got up, she smiled and said, "Morning. Up for swimming today?" she asked him. It would be clear to him how excited she was to get out and do something.
 
((I'm just sitting here like "O_O I have so many things to catch up on. . . Webcomics! X3" lol))


Archer blinked at her blearily, then yawned and gave a languid stretch, flopping back down onto the bed where he lay. "That sounds nice. . ." He stayed there a moment, stretched out, then rolled off the bed and onto his feet. "I'll go get dressed." Efficient as always.
 
((Lol, well go ahead then I don't mind ^_^ ))


She sighed when he flopped back down onto the bed, hoping he wasn't going back to bed. But he got up and went to get dressed and she smiled again, wanting to just run out and go ahead of them, but didn't dare.

Lucius waited for Archer to go, then got to his feet and paced around a bit, testing his legs before just grabbing a bag to carry with them. "I suppose you'll want to stay out a while, so we'd best bring a change of clothes." They could dry in the sun, but some materials tended to get stiff and uncomfortable after that, and took long to dry. Better if they simple changed after swimming.
 
((Oh okay then lol ^_^ ))


Melody nodded and grabbed another outfit. She would need to go and get a few more, all she had were just three dresses, one of them being her nightgown. "Ready," she said when she had everything packed and ready to go.
 
Lucius got his shoes on while Archer was in the bathroom changing, and when they were all ready they left the inn. They walked slowly, with Archer near Lucius to give him help if he needed it, and made sure they didn't tire him too quickly. Lucius felt that he was doing all right, but was grateful to sit on the lake's low dock and just roll his pant legs up, stick his feet in the water and rest a while.
 
When they got outside, she was so happy and she wanted to run around and be free. But they had to make sure Lucius was okay and he didn't tire out. When they finally got to the pond, she got in and practiced swimming, still just learning at it, but she was better at it now.


((Hey, do you know any good anime's to watch that are dubbed?))
 
((Uhhh. Well, I watched Prince of Tennis dubbed for a while, and it's kinda cheesy and obviously about tennis lol but it was pretty good. Lots of episodes dubbed for that. Naruto's pretty good dubbed. But I usually like subbed better because most English voices are horrible :( If you want a really, really adorable one (only subbed I think, but well worth it) you should watch Usagi Drop :3 It's amazing))


Archer, shameless as always, had stripped down as he had the first time and jumped straight in, splashing Lucius on the way. Lucius just laughed and held up a hand, watching contentedly as Archer helped Melody swim about, keeping an eye on her when Archer moved away in case she started to sink.


"It's fun, isn't it?" Lucius asked when she got close enough, smiling a little. "Swimming is good exercise, too."
 
((I know, but I just hate reading sub titles. I think I may have to start doing that though because some I do want to watch are only subbed. My favorites right now are Fushigi Yugi and Fruits Basket. I hate how they didn't finish Fruits Basket though *sigh*))


"Yeah," she said, smiling and splashed at him. "Though it's very cold in here." She went to floating on her back and relaxing, smiling. When she floated over to Archer's way, she splashed him as well, laughing. She did wish that Lucius wasn't so tired though, so he could swim with them.
 
((Didn't finish? ooooh, you mean didn't finish dubbing? Yeah, reading the subtitles is annoying at first, but after a while you sort of just get used to it and learn to read them quickly enough that you don't miss much of anything :) Plus, you get used to the Japanese syntax and it starts to sound less like formless gibberish lol Fruits Basket is amazing, though!!! Love it ^_^ You should read the manga. It's super long but very satisfying))


Lucius shielded himself again, laughing a little at her antics, and laughed harder when Archer dove down into the water enough to splash her with his feet. It probably wasn't fair, but it was funny anyway, and afterwards Lucius just laid back on the dock to sunbathe a while. It was nice being able to sit outside without worries.
 
((I'll have to give it a try and yeah that's what I meant lol. I started reading the manga, but it just wasn't really the same as watching it lol. I know, I'm pitiful when it comes to anime lol. So picky. I will give the subbed a chance again though.))


Melody shrieked a bit when he splashed her and dove under to where she couldn't splash him and stated, "No fair." She was laughing though, having fun. It was so nice to be doing something other than pacing the room.
 
((Okay, so I thought I was watching a movie there, but apparently I had to go get it, then watch it at my house lol Mom needs to communicate better))


Archer, though he hadn't heard, popped back up and just grinned at her cheerily. "All is fair in love and war! Let the water war begin! No one is safe!" Lucius had a feeling that meant Archer was going to come splash him next.
 
((Lol, I agree there. I myself am getting ready to continue watching the Familiar of Zero that was interrupted when I had to do dishes lol.))


When he came back up and spoke, she splashed him good and then ran away, squealing a bit, but she didn't go as far out as she did last time and Archer had to come and save her.

Lucius smiled a little when Archer followed after Melody and just started swimming her back to shore, glad that they were having fun, even if Melody wasn't so used to swimming. They were having fun, and that was what was important.
 
((An anime show only has 13 episodes so I really don't know why I wanted to get into it in the first place. I hate short anime's because they end too quickly, but it's good so far))


"Hey," she said giggling as he started to swim her back to shore. "I wasn't going too far out," she said.
 
((Oooh. Then perhaps not watch Usagi Drop O.o It's only got 12, I think))


Archer just grinned and tugged her along. "But I don't want you getting close enough to almost swim too far out. Then Lucius will jump in to get you and I'll have to save you both from drowning."


Lucius frowned. "Heeey. . ."
 
((I'll probably still give it a try lol. I mean I just hate watching the last episode and then there's no more and 9 times out of 10 they are unfinished.))


Melody laughed and said, "I may not be good at swimming, but I know how to turn around." She stuck her tongue out at him. Though last time didn't really make her case about this because she hadn't turned around then.
