Of Shadows and Swords (Chiarra)

((I'm 20, but most times I'm still just like " O.o all righty, then. Fast-forward time." Lol especially 'cause I mainly watch shows with my mom xD if I was by myself I could just ignore it and wait it out, but you put someone else in the room and all of a sudden it's unbearably awkward

I just finished Looking For Alaska, and now that I'm over the heartbreak, I can once again say that John Green is a genius and I will love him forever :3. . . . Until the next book of his i read xD ))

Archer nodded a little and might have resorted to that if Lucius' eyes hadnt been open a bit and glaring groggily at him already. ". . . 'll bite you. . ." Lucius threatened, though the sleepy drawl didnt make it very intimidating, and Archer just laughed.

"Good, you're awake. I won't need to force feed you, then."

((I know the feeling. To make it worse though, I watch that show with my mom and so we just awkwardly sit there until it's over with lol. And lol to that. Good luck with his next book though ^_^ ))

"Just a few bites Lucius," Melody pleaded softly. "You need it, you've nearly slept for two days."

((Also, sorry, distracted by games lol))

((Oh that's horrible xD

And I'm distracted by games too. Just started back up playing Twilight Princess. I had to fight a giant spider monster O.o *shudder*))

Lucius shifted and winced, sore all over. "Two. . . Two days?"

Archer just nodded and tore off a piece of bread for Lucius to eat, smiling a bit when the other boy took it willingly. "Yep. Two days. You worked hard, little fella. Let me take the load for now."

Lucius was too busy devoting his energy to chewing to argue.

((At least it's not in real life lol ^_^ ))

Melody got up and filled a cup of water before bringing it over to Lucius and holding it out to him. "I think we are far enough away so you don't have to transport us anymore. They found us in the south, so that's where they would go and look first, trying to find a mage that I hope doesn't exist because they will get into a lot of trouble. But they are getting further and further away from us, so I think we're fine."

((Very true))

Lucius sighed a little, but reached out a hand that shook with exertion to take the water from her. He was able, ith much effort, to very carefully take a drink, after which Archer took the cup from his hand and gave him a little more to eat. "We'll be just fine," archer said, shrugging. "We're plenty far enough for you to recover."

(( ^_^ ))

She sat down on the edge of the bed and asked, "How are you feeling?" She of course could wait until he swallowed before he answered.

Just the act of eating and drinking seemed to tire Lucius, but he managed a faint shrug. "'M okay. . ." He muttered softly. "Jus' . . . tired. Little sore."

Archer nodded. "See? He'll be fine." Neither of them wanted her to worry.

She sighed and smiled softly at him and said, "Well then, go back to sleep. We'll be fine." She relaxed some, thinking if there was anything serious wrong with him then Archer would make him see a doctor, but he really had just worn himself out and sleep was what he needed.

Archer nodded a little but held the cup back up for Lucius to drink from. "Drink a little more first. . . That's it." When the cup was empty, Archer gave Lucius one last bite of food, then just helped him lay down. Lucius was asleep before his head was settled on the pillow, and Archer leaned back with a grin. "It's like having a baby Lucius!"

She watched as he made Lucius drink and eat a bit more before putting him to sleep. She couldn't help but laugh at his comment. "At least he's not crying like one," she chuckled.

Archer laughed and moved away from Lucius to flop down on Melody's bed since he didn't feel like sleeping yet. "That would truly be strange. I do believe I've only seen Lucius cry once in my life." He knew Lucius had probably cried when his parents died, but the only time Archer had actually seen Lucius cry was when they were children, and Aaric had just taken Archer in. Lucius had cried for Archer's sake, because he'd lost his family, too, and been hurt. Lucius had never cried for himself.

She looked down at Lucius and nodded. "It would indeed be weird." She wondered what Lucius had cried over, but didn't pry about it, it wasn't any of her business. "So..." she asked, looking at Archer then. "What do you want to do? We could play a game or something?"

Archer shrugged a little and patted the bed next to him. "If you'd like. Do you know any good ones?"

((Wanna just skip to Lucius being mostly better?))

((Sure lol))

She moved over to her bed and sat down next to him. "Well," she said. "We obviously don't have much choice in games, but..." she named off a few and the rest of their time was spent either playing games or doing whatever until Lucius woke up.

It was the beginning of the fourth day when Lucius finally rose for longer than it took to eat and drink some water. He was able to stand up on his own and stretch carefully, walk around a bit while the others slept. He took a seat in a chair, finally, and waited for them to wake as the sun came up. He'd been doing enough sleeping. He wanted to get up and move.

Melody slowly awoke and looked over to check on Lucius. "Hey," she said, quietly, not wanting to wake up Archer. "You're finally up sleepy head." She smiled and got up, heading to get some water. "Want some?" she asked. "We have some food left, but we are going to need to get more. You can have some of that too, if you want." She didn't know if he had already gotten it for himself.

Lucius wanted to say that he could get his own water and it was all right, but his legs felt heavy again and he didn't want to chance standing from his chair so soon. "Just . . . Just water for now, please. Ill try eating later." He had never been good at eating in the morning, and with the hunger he felt he knew he needed to wait and control himself.

((Goodnight ^_^ ))

She nodded and smiled softly at him, bringing him his cup while sipping her own. She glanced over at the window and sighed softly. Being cooped up in this room for four days was not agreeing with her. She wanted to go out, but she had to stay to keep an eye on Lucius while Archer went out. Maybe now that Lucius was up though, she could finally get some fresh air. "Could I go out?" she asked him. She didn't want to just get up and leave, she would probably upset them or get them worried, but there was no harm in asking. "Please?"

Lucius looked up at her after taking the first drink, surprised, and again realized how long he'd been sleeping for. They must have been here, stuck here, the whole time. "I . . . If you wait a little bit longer, ill go with you." They would have to walk slowly, but he was confident he could manage at least a short walk.

((I probably won't actually be here for most of the day))

((Okay then.))

She smiled at him. "Thank you." She wasn't going to coddle him and tell him he should rest. He knew how to take care of himself and she respected that. "How are you feeling by the way?" she asked him.

Lucius managed a small smile. "Ill be all right. . . Weary to the bone, but I've slept for a few days and ill be all right. Moving is probably best now, since I've been lying down so long."

((Apparently I lied lol I'm back, but babysitting so will be slow))

((That's fine ^_^ ))

She smiled back at him and said, "I'm glad. Though maybe we should wait on Archer too so he doesn't wake up to an empty room and think something happened," she chuckled.

Lucius nodded, looking to where Archer slept. "We can let him sleep, then. He's probably been working very hard." Archer had been taking care of Melody and Lucius both, after all.
