Of Shadows and Swords (Chiarra)

((Not going to be on much today))


Melody smiled softly at him and rubbed his back gently. She didn't know what to say to him really. Didn't know if she had said anything if it would make it worse or not.
 
((Apparently neither was I lol))


For a long while, they only stayed there in silence. Eventually, Lucius picked his head up, scrubbed his hands over his eyes and through his hair, and shifted back onto his heels like he would get up. "I should go. . . You need to rest."

"You need rest too," she said reaching up to stop him from leaving. "Please....don't leave."


Natalie came in at that moment. "I just came to check on things...is he alright?" She saw Lucius there and smiled softly at him. "Are you three alright?"
 
Lucius glanced in Natalie's direction but didn't turn his head, sighing softly and just lying down next to Archer. Archer patted the Raven's shoulder and looked over at Natalie, being as still as possible. "Tired, but all right, I think." He smiled faintly. "That goes for all of us."
 
Melody nodded in agreement, glad that Lucius was resting with them. Natalie nodded and asked, "Are you three hungry, I could bring some food over. Cook made a stew."


"I'm fine thanks, but these two need something to eat," Melody said. "And I'm not taking no as an answer."


"You should eat something too," Natalie said going after some food and bringing back three bowls of it. She handed one to each and nodded before leaving. She wasn't even supposed to be here.
 
Lucius laid still and silent until Natalie returned, and only sat up because he wanted to help Archer do so. He shifted to sit behind the thief, letting Archer lean against his back for support, and accepted food even though he wasn't hungry. He ate slowly, methodically, and just tried to work past the lack of appetite.


Archer sighed at the warmth of it and leaned his head back against Lucius' tiredly. "You could've stopped her." He said, softly, but received no reply. "You should have." Still, it was silent, and he finally just gave up and started to eat, glancing at Melody. "You eat, too, missy."
 
"It's obvious she likes you," she said softly. "And is just as worried about you as the rest of us."


She looked at Archer and nodded, sighing a bit before taking a small bite of the stew. "I'm just glad the both of you are alright," she said after swallowing.
 
Archer sighed softly and shook his head. "I'll be fine, I'm telling you." He forced a big smile, sunny and bright. "Something so miniscule as a little flesh wound won't kill me." And extreme exaggerations and minimizations were his specialty.
 
Melody smiled softly at him, knowing what he was up to and just took another bite of stew. "Eat," she said after swallowing and before taking another bite.
 
((Was in the process of getting sick yesterday and so spent it curled up watching tv. Sorry -_- of course, now I'm full blown sick, and I might not reply again after this))


Archer just gave a little shrug, cringed because that was the wrong motion to make, and finally settled in to eat. He nodded off against Lucius' shoulder almost before he'd finished eating the rest.

When she finished eating, she laid down and tried to get some sleep too, but she couldn't help but worry over them both and so sleeping was hard to come by until a few hours later when exhaustion took over and she was out like a light.

Lucius laid Archer down to sleep when the thief drifted off, and took the liberty of setting all their dishes aside. He didnt sleep, just curled up at Archer's side after covering Melody with a blanket, and tried not to think.

Melody slept soundly and woke up early the next morning and yawned softly as she sat up and rubbed her eyes. She looked over at Archer and Lucius and smiled at the both of them, hoping that both of them were feeling better today.
 
((Sorry. Been coughing a lot still and haven't been home all day today now so I am dead tired))


Lucius hadnt slept, but feigned it for a while so no one would suspect. When he heard Melody stir, he waited a good ten minutes or so, then sat slowly up and stretched, rubbing his eyes. He glanced at Archer, who was still sleeping, then sighed and ran a hand through his hair. "Good morning. . ."
 
((Take your time ^_^ . Feel better soon))


"Morning," she said softly. "How are you feeling?" She reached over and took his hand in hers, trying to comfort him.
 
((Thanks. I'm just gonna hit the hay now so I can stop coughing))


Lucius twitched, wanting to pull his hand away but not wanting to upset her by doing so and so letting her have it. ". . . I'm fine." He said, though he didn't look at her. It wasn't a lie, really. Physically, he was fine.
 
((Okay and good luck with that. Coughing really sucks.))


She sighed softly at his reaction, knowing that he wasn't fine. She pulled her hand away and got up. "I'm going to go get breakfast." She gathered up last night's dishes and went to the cooking tent. She got three dishes of breakfast and brought them back to the tent, giving one to Lucius and setting one to the side for Archer when he got up. She ate hers slowly.
 
((Ugh I had no voice yesterday and today it's only like half back. Work is going to suck tonight. I'm just gonna try not to talk until then))


Lucius nodded his thanks when .melody came back, and for a while just ate in silence. ". . . Should we wake him?" He asked when he was almost done, looking at Archer. "I don't want it to get cold."
 
((Um...yeah I'm going to have to put a pause on our rp because I am now in a relationship and to me, this would be cheating so yeah. Sorry, hope you feel better. We can still talk though if you want, but not on here, on FB))
