Of Shadows and Swords (Chiarra)

((Oh, okay :3 It mostly raps up, if I remember right. There's not really much major tragedy at the end or anything. It's just stories of him taking care of this kid he's taken in, and it's full of adorable-ness))


Archer just let her go, finally, and looked at her when she turned to face him. "Previous experience has told me not to believe you."


Lucius laughed a little from the dock. "Besides, you'll leave me here alone if you go too far."
 
((Spoiler alert lol ^_^ okay then))


She stuck her tongue out at him again and turned to look at Lucius. She smiled at him innocently before splashing him and laughing.
 
"Ah!" Lucius held up his arms to shield his face, then kicked water at her. "Hey, no fair! You can run away farther than I can!"
 
She laughed and then went back to floating on her back. She was getting hungry though and she missed breakfast. She sighed and moved to get out of the water. "Let's go do something else," she suggested. "Maybe there's a show in town we can catch or something?" She grabbed her clothes and then headed over to the trees and bushes and made sure she was out of sight before she started to change into something drier. She came back out and sat down on the grass, waiting for Archer to get done swimming.
 
Lucius laid down on his back to crane his neck and be able to see where Melody was sitting down, even as Archer swam back to pull himself up onto the dock. "We'll have to sit and dry for a little bit." Archer had gone in wearing just his underwear, like the time before, but it would still take a little while for that and his hair to dry out.
 
"That's why we brought extra clothes, remember?" she said. She tossed over a clean towel. She had been sitting around for four days, she wanted to go and explore. "What's in this town anyways?" she asked. "You're the only one who's seen it."
 
"Me?" Lucius asked, blinking and patting dry the few spots on him that were wet, then giving the towel to Archer so he could start drying his hair. "I only followed the signs of people to get us close to somewhere. I don't know what's here. I'm not even quite certain where 'here' is anymore."


Archer shook his head like a dog and got up, shrugging. "I mostly do. I glanced at a map, but couldn't find one to buy just yet."
 
((Oh sorry for not making that clear, but that was directed to Archer, sorry))


"I meant Archer," she said softly. "He's the only one that's been out into the town. So, Archer, what's around here anyways? Any places of interest?"
 
((Oh my bad. I sort of realized it a few minutes after posting but then I'm like "Oh, she probably saw already. . . and I'm too lazy to change it" lol))


Archer shrugged a little. "I haven't done too much exploring, not for that anyway. I found the map, I found trustworthy places to get food and supplies, I found a place to sell some jewels - legally, thank you - and I may or may not have come across a pub or two. Not much in way of wholesome entertainment, but I'm sure we can find something."

She eyed him when he talked about going to a couple pubs and sighed softly. "Well, we can still explore and find somewhere," she said. "If it's alright with you Lucius." She didn't want to push him and tire him out.
 
"Hey, hey, hey," Archer said, hopping on one leg as he dried the other off, "I did not say I was drinking in pubs, only that I stumbled upon them - meaning I passed by. Don't look at me like I'm a drunkard."


Lucius just rolled his eyes. "I don't mind if you want to look around. I feel all right for now."
 
"I believe you," she said honestly. "And I didn't mean to look at you like that, it's just that...well...I've always kind of wondered what it was like inside a pub." Not that she wanted to do any drinking, but still, she was curious what went on in places like that, besides drinking.


"Alright then," she smiled at Lucius.
 
Archer went off to change and Lucius got up to replace his shirt since it wasn't drying very fast. "The inside of a pub isn't really a place for a small woman like yourself," He said, not condescending or judgmental but stating fact and trying to be gentle about it. "It's full of drunken, rowdy men, most times, and though they seem to have fun amongst themselves, they can be violent to others and disrespectful to women." And 'disrespectful' was putting it lightly.
 
"Really?" she asked looking at him. It wasn't a place she didn't want to go then. "I mean, I knew that was a place where men went to get a drink but none of that other stuff," she said. "Well, I just hope that we can find some place that would put on a show. A traveling fair would be nice. Maybe we could tag along with one for a bit?" she asked.
 
Lucius nodded a little. "That might actually be a good idea." It would be a way to stay camouflaged as they travelled. "Maybe this town has a theater, if we don't encounter a traveling fair. We can go look around."
 
She smiled and said, "Maybe we could even come up with an act and perform?" She was excited about that, though...she didn't know what they could do. "Hm...I could probably play background music to make things more dramatic..."
 
Lucius laughed softly and glanced up as Archer walked over, then looked at her again. "And what? Leave the performing to us? Archer would do it." He walked away as Archer came back, so they wouldn't leave Melody unguarded, and the thief just looked between them, confused.


"I'd do what now?"
 
"We're thinking of joining a traveling fair!" she said, throwing her fist up in the air and looking very serious. Then she smiled sweetly at him and said, "Plus we both think it would be a great idea to camouflage ourselves."

((Speaking to another anime fan, so I can totally picture it lol))


Archer laughed a little at her expression, gathering the towels and wet clothes to throw over a tree branch or some such thing. "And I suppose I would be the one in charge of getting us in to this traveling fair?" That appeared to be the long and the short of it.
 
(( ^_^ , well, like I said before I just picture this whole rp as an anime lol))


She watched as he threw the clothes and the towels over a tree branch and shrugged at his words. "Maybe," she said. "Though, like I was telling Lucius, I don't know what our act could be, but I thought I could play music to make the acts more dramatic."


((BTW, I hope you are okay with the traveling fair idea lol))
 
((I picture everything I write as anime O_O I'm incapable of picturing real people anymore xD ))


Archer shrugged a little, then turned to smile at her. "I think it would be fun. It would break the monotony of travel, at least."


((Oh, yeah, it's totally cool. I gotta go to bed though 'cause it's late. Night!))
 
((I'm that way with some things lol, but okay, night ^_^ . It's really late over here lol))


"Me too," she said smiling. "Though first, I suggest we get something to eat, and also maybe we could find a better way to disguise ourselves as well, so we won't be recognized as easily." She still thought about magically their looks or something, but...oh well.
 
Archer shrugged a little. "We can wear stage make-up when we perform, but you two are really the only ones that need to be disguised. I was an innocent peasant and probably presumed dead after all the screaming and going missing. Ill probably due my hair a different color later on, but there's not much you can do. If you want to avoid being recognized, walk with a very slight limp. A person's usual gate is a good way to identify them from a distance, if someone who knows you is tracking you."
 
"Stage makeup would be good and maybe I could die my hair too," she said smiling. "That would be a good enough disguise. I don't think I can remember to walk differently all the time though.

((Sorry, had a busy day. I wasn't actually replying to things so much as I was making quick responses to OOC things))


Archer nodded a little, grinning as he got everything packed away. "It'll be great. If we can latch onto one of those things, it'll be fun. We'll have to get Lucius to loosen up, is all."
