Of Shadows and Swords (Chiarra)

((Oh, okay then sorry about that))

She chuckled at that and said, "Alright then. Let's go find a traveling fair." She was excited and couldn't wait to watch the shows herself and even be apart of them. "I think the hardest part would be getting them to let us join."

((Its okay :) I don't mind, I was just letting you know I wasn't ignoring you))

Archer shrugged as Lucius came walking back over. "Well, if we find one closer to one of my many hidden stashes, we'll have plenty enough money to buy our way in."

"How many hidden stashes do you have?" she asked him. "And how can you remember where they are?"

Lucius rolled his eyes as they started walking. "He has impeccable memory for those types of things."

Archer grinned at Melody. "A thief never forgets his conquests!"

Lucius shrugged, "he's a professional thief. He's got jewels and coins and art and anything worth anything that you could possibly think of stealing."

"Art? Wouldn't they know that was missing when you go to sell them?" she asked him, cocking her head to the side.

Archer held his hands up in an exaggerated shrug. "One has to know the difference between expensive art that will be missed, and expensive art that no one will recognize. It's an art in itself, really, figuring that out. But usually I can forge the paintings well enough to get away and sell the real one before it's seen as missing. Sculptures are much harder."

((Hey, sorry for that. Power pole in front of my house exploded so I had to go to my grandma's while the power company worked on it. On top of that, hydroplaned 3 times on the way here. *sigh*))

"You can...forge paintings?" she asked. "Like...actually painting them yourself and then just replacing them?"

((O_O Whoa. Was it a really bad storm or something? I would've been having heart attacks during the hydro planning - "SLOW DOWN, MOTHER, YOURE GOING TO KILL US ALL!!" lol))

Archer nodded. "Yeah. Surprised?" He grinned. "Copying them takes work, but it's not too difficult, if you know what you're doing. Creating something from just your brain is the hard part. I can't really do my own work, just forgeries."

((btw I'm in three rps (including this one) and starting another one, and doing something time consuming in RL, so don't be surprised if I disappear for long periods of time between posts))

((Well, first it stormed, and then that stopped completely. An hour later, the explosion happened, and then as we were driving to grandma's it started storming again and halfway there, it was so bad mom could barely see the road. And I was freaking out, just like that and mom and my sister were making fun of me. I made her promise she wouldn't go home until the rain stopped. And okay then, I'll be more patient before bumping then lol))

"Wow," she said, impressed. "I can't even draw stick figures and trust me, my mother would get so frustrated with me because she so wanted me to learn to paint."

((Oh, geez O_O Yeah, heart attack city))

Archer laughed and shook his head. "Not everyone can have artistic talent, dear. Not even I do. I don't make art, I just copy it."

Lucius shrugged a little. "It's still impressive. . . If you would use it for something other than thievery."

((Lol. We are all okay though ^_^ ))

"I agree with Lucius," she said. "Maybe you could try to paint something of your own," she said. "Maybe you could become famous and rich off of that," she said.

((Good :) ))

Archer actually burst out laughing so loudly and suddenly that Lucius flinched beside him. Afterwards, Lucius just rolled is eyes as Archer stopped and braced his hands on his knees to keep from falling over while he laughed.

Lucius glanced at Melody as he stopped walking. "I'm going to assume that means 'not a chance'."

She sighed and blushed a bit with embarrassment as he laughed at her and she nodded in agreement with Lucius. "I get it," she said. "Well you could at least try," she said standing up. "Now, we have a town to go explore."

Archer was panting a bit, his eyes watering slightly, by the time he was able to stop laughing, and he jogged to catch up with them. "Oh - Oh, Lord," He panted, a hand clasped on Lucius' shoulder more so he wouldn't be left behind than any attempt to lean his weight on the shorter boy. "Oh, god I needed that. . ." He huffed a few more times, then looked over at Melody with a grin. "I don't want to be famous." He said, shaking his head. "If I were famous, I'd be dead by now. Besides, I can't paint to save my life when going off of my own ideas. No one would buy from a peasant like me anyway."

She looked at him again and sighed. "Not if you were famous in the right way," she said. She just shrugged though and walked ahead of them. "Anyways," she said. "Have you seen any restaurants around that we can eat from?"

Archer shook his head. "I will never be famous in the 'right' way. Let's just decide on that. But yes, I know a place that looks promising. I'll take us there."

She decided to let the first subject drop and just said, "Okay then, let's go eat." She was starving.

((Well, I was just thinking that one could come into town, but as for them actually getting into one, I don't know either lol))
