Fantasy No Mortals - An over-the-top, sci-fi/fantasy RP

Sort of like shooting miniature bombs? But I can't make that into a short-range weapon... so I think I'll stick with what I have.

Oh you could just throw your powder infront of you and detonate it, or coat your fist in it and punch someone :D But it's up to you

Those are good ideas, but I think I like what I have. I'll leave explosives open for someone with more creativity than me.

Thanks for the suggestions though! UuU May I jump into the rp now?

Another idea for combat mechanic, building off what @Rurnur has already made.

Base up is 100+10 for each endurance point

Defense is base 8+8 for every defense point

(the effectiveness of your defense is dependant on a roll of a di, you get a with a base of 1 side+1 for every point. The same works for accuracy and agility)

Agility and Accuracy decide if you get hit or not. Roll a 6 sided di, and each point you put into agility or accuracy unlocks a side 1 higher than the rest. (1 is base, if you have 2 agility then you would have sides of 1, 2, and 3 dots. Whoever rolls the highest succeeds in dodging or hitting. In event of a tie, who ever has the most points put into accuracy/agility succeeds. In the event of ANOTHER tie, a re-roll will be held.

Attacks use soul energy, and if you use all of your soul energy, then you are forced to forfeit. There is no roll for damage, but there are set of attacks you can give yourself that use a set amount of energy (whether they connect or not). Minimum points required for an attack is 5. Base damage for that attack is 10. Maximum points in one attack is 50, and the maximum damage of the attack is 60. (to avoid 1-hit K.O.s) other than that, you can add +10 points to attack to increase damage by 10.

5-10

15-20

25-30

And so on.

Too complicated?

Or, or accuracy, you can roll a 6 faced di with a multiplier times your points into accuracy.

Roll a 5, and your accuracy points are at 4 (+1 because everyone has a base multiplier of 1)

So your accuracy roll is 5x5 for 25, versus someone who has an agility of 3 that rolls a 6.

25vs.24= a hit

@Jokesome Cool, need any help creating a character? Or do you have some questions?

@Splat I like the idea for "Set attacks" but not sure about the rest, i'm going to need to hear what everyone else thinks. The accuracy and defence part are a little confusing, do you think we could try using the basic system I have in the mechanics tab first? Just as a test run

I just came up with something on the fly because I entered combat, and I wasn't sure how attacking/defending was supposed to work.

I think we'll just try this system now, until we get everyone else's opinion

Strength: (The amount of damage you deal with an attack, each point of strength will be equal to 10 damage inflicted to your opponent)

Defence: (The amount of damage you are able to resist from an enemy's attack, if you are able to make your character successfully guard)

Accuracy: (The chance you have to hit an opponent trying to evade your attack)

Agility: (The chance you have to evade an opponent trying to hit you, when deciding if a hit is successful, both players will roll die with faces equal to their accuracy and agility stat, and whoever rolls higher is successful in either attacking or evading)

Endurance: (The amount of energy you regenerate and how much your soul repairs itself per post, each point of Endurance will be equal to 10 points of your energy regenerated and 5 points of your soul repaired)

@Whale Extend your post please, and you only roll one die, not three. You also forgot to add the combat mechanics code. You get 1 side on your die per point you have on your stats.

@Whale And don't worry about not getting it right, this is just to test out the system (:

Yeah I've never really done dice on this.. ever. So I don't understand how to roll and stick it into my posts. But I'll try again.

I'm personally excited for a dice system. I don't really understand the attack/defense system suggested, sorry, so I'll cast a vote in for keeping what we have.

This is what I've got so far, what does everyone think?

Character A attacks Character B

Character A rolls a die with faces equal to their Accuracy stat, and loses energy based upon how much damage the attack will deal

Character B decides to evade or guard

- Evading

Character B decides to evade and rolls a die with faces equal to their Agility stat

Character A gets the higher roll and deals 10 points of damage to Character B for each point in their strength stat

- Guarding

Character B decides to guard, Character A's attack is successful, but Character B resists 5 damage for each point in their defence stat
