Fandom Naruto AU: Era of Tomorrow OOC

I read them! I like how they aren't the typical naruto universe team and I'm interested to see how these three get on. I guess we'll need a little combined backstory for them + sensei for the years they've spent together. Unless they came from different teams initially and have just formed a team now?

All these ab and b blood type weirdos! Shame one of them isnt a universal donor. XD

Yeah, a combined history for this team as a squad will be needed. Since I was looking at this trio being a team from the start of their Genin careers, adds more to the story I’d think. The three Genin transplanted from different squads to form one new team isn’t my first choice.

Haha, honestly just put the first blood type that came to mind. But true haha.

Looks like Squad 2 is nearly complete, I just need to finish my characters bio and the arrival of the Jonin/Sensei is all that’s left. This is shaping into a pretty interesting team, definitely different from the typical squads in the universe of Naruto.

I'd be happy to handwave the fight section and just say that they were in and and they won their fights. TBH it struck me as somewhat bullshitty that they would go through the whole rigmarole of the chunin exams and only one character actually got promoted. I think it makes sense to give some of the runners up promotions, but if they got knocked out at the forest of death that seems too early in the proceedings to be considered. But I mean ... I don't think this is a huge deal. XD

Yeah I think there was a deadline... it's been a while for me too though.

The exams were good but disappointing for me. But I also got tired of Sasuke and Naruto pretty easily, was much more interested in the other characters. (You wouldn’t believed how hyped I was to see Shino and Kankurō in their respective then face to face fights. Haha.

That’s one way of looking at it, but we can work out the proceedings of the passing the forest and taking part in the next rounds. Actually, least for my character, the Chūnin exams will be playing a role in my characters history and dialogue for some pre-rp character development. (Not major just minor FYI) I also am going to be using flashback history as well, so that’s why I am also in favor of working out history with this squad and Jonin rather then starting him off on one team then moving into this one.

I think it’s been literally years since seeing original Naruto and specifically the Chūnin exams and prior arcs. Hell, it’s been a few years since following shipuuden, I gave up on that once the summit was over and started progressing towards the war arc. Haha.

The Silent Z Ah, my bad then. I was reading that as we were taking the axe to most of the canon fixtures as opposed to just kinda having all that take place somewhere else.

If you're looking for easy justification, you could just say that this takes place a year or two or a few earlier than Part 1 Naruto and you passed the Chunin Exams before the Konoha Crush exam.

(Though, if canon stuff is still happening somewhere else, I can't wait for the Shippuden Era )

The only issue here would be needing a new location. (Least for detail purposes) I am pretty certain they host it in rotation of nations. Though I’ve no problem changing the timeline a bit and taking part or Pre-rp rather taking part in a non Konoha exams. (Just means our characters will pre-date the canon Genin of similar era/ages. Hmm... Seems like a genjutsu where the victim is believed to have a poison already in their bloodstream and feeling it’s burning effects and gasping and choking for air could be one fitting idea, perhaps? Since that’s her non genjutsu side of combat it would make it all the more difficult to know if it’s real or if it’s genjutsu. Of course, tweaking it and adding mind games and mental suffering of different kinds only adds to its effectiveness and such.

I’m definitely on board with this chatting and figuring this out. : )

Honestly I’m more intrigued with the idea of the Chūnin exams that are possibly held outside of the Kono/Suna Alignment. I’m sure they’d have to have something of their own, realistically right? We could keep the timeline as is and just have teams from smaller nations partake in both. (They’d likely be neutral enough to get away with it?) Thus allowing our squad to rep Taki in the exams held elsewhere. So taking this AU style and showing a different exams held by the I suppose you could say enemy nations and explore that idea. Though Kiri/Iwa tensions would (outside of Kiri issues) likely prevent one side from partaking (kiri issues considered eliminates them. Don’t recall their foggy timeline to well tbh) , though the tension and drama would be awesome for a exams setting. Kumo would be interesting as well. Kiri & Iwa just come to mind first for me since they are my favored major nations.

Yeah, Ame would be out though looking back at what Pain accomplished and hid all the while running a village and sending out teams for exams... rather impressive imo.

But years have past and much has changed, while she can still leave people in the dark of her thoughts and what she may be thinking or intend on doing, Hifumi is without a doubt a true historian who’s proven quite knowledgeable of village history and the forbidden jutsu, the latter coupled with her appearance has left some to wonder if she herself knows and has utilized a particular kinjutsu once stolen and used by a man from a older generation, a man perhaps the most infamous of Takigakure and its history. However it’s simply a rumor with no real merit. A Kunoichi of notable power and accomplishment around her mid thirties, Hifumi overcame the bloodline hierarchy who seemed to pass on the title of village leader from generation to the next, to become herself the reigning head of the hidden waterfall village. While her fighting style has yet to become revealed in some time, tales speak of her observational and expressionless ways when in combat using the minimalist of efforts til absolutely necessary all the while gathering details of her opponents fighting style, jutsu, battle habits and different tells they possess, slowly picking apart their tactics, strengths and finding their weaknesses and using it against them in the most brutal of ways.

She however does have a softer side often kept hidden from others to retain the reputation she has gained over the years. A side that includes being a softy when it comes to her people, the younger generation of ninja and liking things such as flowers and poetry.

Well, I missed a fair bit time to play catchup.

The exams essentially is just about impressing and showing enough to be considered and possibly promoted. Out of all the participants who made it past the forest of death, only one really made to Chūnin not long after, so using a loose angle and version of impressing, coupled with team/character history performance wise and perhaps a performance report since proctors keep tabs on the Genin. Would be more then enough to consider a Chūnin promotion. (Also, admittedly, much easier then working out details of a extra team with our own team making it with the others, working out how it all proceeds afterwards and etc. possibly more if making the number of fights per each more even. Though it could all be glossed over and etc, but that just how my mind works and thinks about.) We could go that route if desired though. (The idea of this rp is vote/majority driven after all)

Also side note/question cause memory is lacking of full recall. But wasn’t there a deadline in the forest of death? If so, the barely missing the deadline could be used as the elimination reason.

I'm sure Mai's got enough blood for the both of you...just make sure she keeps it in her body during any combat situations .

I still love the combo of poison and genjutsu even going with just the basics, poisoning a foe then putting them in any genjutsu and just keeping them in it until the poison does its job.

With the three characters, this squad has and I'm sure the Jonin will be no exception, the dynamic of the team is going to be very interesting all three are completely different people with slim to nothing in common both personality and upbringing wise.

Thanks Lol, yeah I went completely opposite from what I can recall about Shibuki. One idea I had to fit her rise to leadership story would be to still have Shibuki as a character but instead of leader he’s a Jonin or something along those lines or someone like Shibuki who’s representative of that family and lost out on the role to Hifumi.

No. Above has more info, but the submitted oc idea that’s been met with approval. So Hifumi is the village leader with Shibuki in a lesser role, Jonin perhaps. Perhaps in charge of a NPC genin team from the same class (so to speak) as ours.

FYI for the group: The plan is for this rp to start its IC within the next few days. So hopefully we will have characters up and ready to go by then. It appears we have three out of four so far, any updates or possible timelines for a CS post RisenFromAshes ?
