Fandom My Little Pony Frontier

Indicus spoke up shortly after Fang finished, "She's right we need the help and shit will go down soon. I will sum it up a bit, we believe the mayor in getting this land and developing has pissed off a powerful spirit and now we can do much but prepare for what's next and that is why you should find your charge. We can meet up on top of the hill to the right of the docks." Indicus then looked at Shadow Fang, "Go with him I will talk to the mayor myself and see if I can get a few more details that may or may not help us."

Fang nodded, giving a slight bow of her head. "Vokun aak hi," she said in a low voice before turning back towards Thunder. "I suppose introductions are in order. I'm Shadow Fang. Now then, we really shouldn't waste anymore time." While still low, traces of urgency could be heard in her voice.

(Shadow guide you.)

"Yes. and If you happen to speak Arabic by any chance. or bat pony... just slowly. I'm not too adept in bat pony, just the just... but no jargon. I'll go find Kadje."

Thunder sighed. A guard. that's all anyone thought he was to Kadje. That was the very reason the pair came to the new village. It'd be frowned upon for a prince to date a commoner in Saddle Arabia, they had to have some sort of get away so they didn't have to hide it. Thunder loved Kadje more than life itself and had loved him since they were children, even after he found out that Kadje was a boy rather than a girl like he'd initially thought.

"I'll go find him. just. keep the talk of evil on the down low. It may scare him. His kind heart is far too delicate to understand. I'm Thunderheart of the Saddle Arabian royal guard and I'll meet you there." With that, the massive warhorse was off to find Kadje and insure his safety.

The far smaller bat pony was able to easily keep pace with the warhorse. "I didn't mean for any confusion. It's an expression to wish someone luck basically." Her gaze shifted to the road ahead. "I won't bring it up around Kadje unless necessary."

Shina watched as the two batponies slipped around a corner with another much larger pony. For the moment she didn't place much worry in it. Shina was confident that if anything drastic were to happen she could keep Steelheart safe till they returned. Her attention turning back to Steelheart she thought a moment. It was kind of obvious she couldn't ask Steelheart for direction on where to find Firecracker. Even if the flutterpony did know where he'd be she wouldn't be able know what direction that location was, and Shina certainly didn't know her way around this new settlement. Still, she would not take Steelhearts bad feeling lightly and was begining to grow a bit more desperate to know that Firecracker was safe. "Perhaps if we found the mayor he could tell us where Firecracker is?" Shina suggested, but thinking back on how uncomfortable Steelheart had been around the mayor added. "We'd only have to speak to him for a moment. I'll even do all the talking if you'd like?"

"Thanks, I'll try to pick it up along the way, but I'm no interpreter. " Thunder picked up the pace. for such a big horse he really could move, but Kadje was much faster. Kadje was long legged and light weight, Thunder was like a train car barreling down the tracks. " I'm just worried. If he knows, he's going to want to help. and if he helps he could get hurt. I've only failed my job to keep him safe once and I can't bear to let him down again." He tried his best not to spill the truth about his feelings for Kadje. The only time he let Kadje down was when they where kids... another foal had pushed Kadje down while Thunder wasn't around. It bothered him for a while.

She nodded, "It sounds like you really care about him." It partially reminded Fang of her feelings towards the Lunar goddess she had once been assigned to protect. Though perhaps this went deeper than what she had. "I don't want to get more involved than necessary, but I have a feeling that isn't going to be possible." A sense of dread was already starting to creep over the bat pony, there was a dark feeling being carried on the winds...

-In firecrackers house/workshop-

Between the lack of sleep, and stress he was under, Firecracker almost collapsed under the wait of a simple hug.

Trying not to burden his friend with his problems he pushed himself to smile and act normal.

Passing over the book he had collected he asked - " I need another set of hooves to hold my place and maybe read the hoof notes in this while I work on something "

As he gathered his tools he felt that Kadje deserved an explanation.

But at the same time he had to respect Shina's privacy.

Deciding a half truth was better then a whole lie, he looked away and said " I really appreciate this...Lets just say its for a mare."

-In outskirts of town-

As she felt all the others rush by Steelheart felt now would be as good a time as any to go looking for Firecracker.

When Shina asked to see the mayor Steelheart reluctantly agreed saying- " I suppose if any pony would know it would how to find him it would be him.. But would you mind if I wait outside his office? I don't really feel comfortable around him ever sense my sister got here.

-In the Mayors office-

Lavender Moon only looked away in response to the mayors question.

"Your hiding her aren't you my dear?" Mayor Catchpenny insisted with s toothy grin starting to crease across his face.

Only offering a spiteful scowl in reply Lavender Moon attempted to leave the office only to bump into an enormous Timber wolf.

The mayor however didn't even react to this beast, but simply said- " Now now, We can't be losing you to. Kain here will take care of you while my other pets look for her. After all, what kind of king would I be if I let my guests do all the hoof work."

This was the first time he referred to himself as anything more then a mayor.

Suddenly he shouted " Sadrack! Meshack! "

with that, two normal sized Timber wolves emerged from the shadows.

Quickly turning back to him, Lavender Moon scoffed " Your just a mad-pony. Your no king!"

To which he only replied- " ..Not yet."

-overhead-

The skies began to darken as the clouds continued to swirl overhead.

But no pony seemed to pay it any attention.

To enthralled in the grandeur of the massive celebration the Mayor had organized.

Kadje nodded at the request. "Seems easy enough. I can do that." He set a hoof on Fi's page and began reading. "Oh-ho a mare involved. That's so adorable! Go getter man, I'll help out as much as ya need." Crimson dust began spilling about and a near by pen began writing on a page making notes while all the scattered books around the place that weren't being used for anything seemed to rewind and go back to their rightful places on shelves. Stray papers found their way back to filing cabinets and dust found its way back outside as he read and continued taking notes. "Geese, looks like a storms coming in."

"I care for him more than anything." Thunder finally admitted. Thunder looked to the darkening sky with worry. "I know where he is. He's at a friends so at least he's inside. I don't know if being inside could shield him from much harm." Thunder sighed. "I didn't come with him simply to guard him. We came here so we could just be us. Back home its taboo for a royal to fall in love with a common pony, let alone another stallion, here we can be free from that." He seemed to be smiling as he approached the house.

"nahn bihajat 'iilana alkhuruj min huna , Kadje"(we need to get out of here, Kadje.) Thunder started as he came in the house without so much as a knock, scaring the frail prince half to death.

"yuswe almasih , limadha? nahn faqat hasalat huna , sayakun waqhanaan limughadarat marrat 'ukhraa!" (Jesus Christ, why? we just got here, it'd be rude to leave again!)Kadje seemed distressed and upset that thunder even suggested leaving again. Thunder gave a light nudge to the prince's muzzle, trying to reason with him.

"arjuk thaqq baa. 'ana 'uhibb you.I 'aetaqid sumthingh sayiyatan qadim w 'ana la 'urid lak fi almasar."(please, trust me. I love you.I think somthing bad is comming and I dont want you in the path.) Thunder kept trying to urge Kadje to follow him.

"'ana la 'urid 'an 'aqiff latawh 'athna' alkifah min ajl li ! walahadha alssabab aleayilat almalikat alhusul ealaa sumeat sayiya. jmye gaurds , wala qital . 'iidha alqital alkhass bik 'urid 'an 'asaeid ."(I don't want to just stand back while you fight for me! Thats why the royals get a bad reputation. all gaurds, no fight. if your fighting I want to help.) Kadje stamped his hoof down stubbornly.

"
Kadje... please. you can come with me. but stay right by my side. alright?"

"Can Fi come too?"Kadje asked, looking over his shoulder to the little unicorn, not wanting to leave him there.

" I don't know. Fang, what do you think?"

Indicus made his way through the festival and as he did he took a glance towards the sky "Shit!" knowing time was short, he redoubled his efforts to find the mayor the first place he started looking was the town hall.

Fang nodded as they continued to run. "Even more reason to protect him then." Her gaze shifted up to the darkening sky, they were almost out of time. Finally reaching the house, she listened to the two go back and forth while she looked around the small house. She wasn't very familiar with Arabic, only able to catch a word or two. That didn't prevent the meaning from being changed any.

Thunder asking her what she thought about the two coming along with them snapped her out of her thoughts. "If they wish to follow, I won't stop them." Her crimson eyes fell on the small unicorn. "But I cannot guarantee their safety."

The wind began picking up, scattering some of the loose papers inside Firecracker's house. "I'm afraid we don't have time to think it over very closely," Fang reached up and removed her cloak. She was going to need to be able to move swiftly and the fabric only hindered her. She set the Order's medallion in front of Thunder. "Head on to where Indicus specified, I need to go check something out. I can signal you through the medallion if plans change." The bat pony gave a slight bow of her head, "Shadow guide you." With that she turned and took off, racing back towards towards town. The clouds were darkest over the town hall and she knew that's were Indicus was headed.

Unsure of where to locate the mayor in order to inquire about Firecracker's location Shina glanced around a moment. She'd learned from her time in these western lands that 'mayors' seemed to run small towns like this, much as the Emperor ran the her home country. The Emperor's castle back home was the largest building in the capital, so it stood to reason that the mayor's home would be the largest in this settlement, right? Hopping for a second opinion Shina decided to see what Steelheart's magic could tell her, turning her attention back to the flutterpony as she spoke. "Are you able to sense him anyone where? What direction he's in, the mayor or Firecracker?" If she could sense Firecracker's direction it would defiantly save them some time, especially as the skies were looking less then friendly. "Dark clouds are moving in... I don't have a very good feeling about them..." The young kirin added, growing anxious about standing idle for too long.

As Thunder burst through the door Firecracker let sighed joking " I gotta get a revolving door."

As the two argued about in their native tongue he turned his attention back to his work.

After Shadow Fang had rushed off he finally looked up.

With a final turn of a screwdriver he was finished.

Using his magic to hoist what looked like a cannon on his shoulder, he lowered some thermal goggles and said "I'm not sure what's going on, but I think it's time for our little science experiment to get a test run."

Chewing on the stem of a bottle rocket it was clear he was fired up and ready to go.

- in the city-

Steelheart desperately tried to get a clear reading of the magic but it was no use.

Sighing in defete she apologised- "I'm sorry. There is just so much strange magic around. It feels like it's everywhere." futilely looking up she added -"it even feels like it's above me"

It was as she looked up a looming shadow began to emerge from behind a wall. With snarling teeth and razor claws.

Being blind She was oblivius to the danger as a Timber wolf aproched

Indicus was nearby when the timber wolf approached and saw it rather quickly, he drew his blade and used his magic to draw it near him where he could stab at its core between it's wooden ribs.

Shina's ears shifted to the sound of growling, turning her head as those slanted eyes widened at the sight of a timber wolf. For a second she considered simply torching the creature, but as it moved in to the settlement she feared the animal catching other things on fire should it run. Her gaze quickly turned to Indicus seeing his sword drawn. "I'm getting Steelheart inside, you got this?" She didn't wait for an answer, turning her gaze to Steelheart to instruct the flutterpony. "Press close against my side and try to keep up. We need to run, it's no longer safe here." That said Shina's gold hooves took off clopping against the ground. She was careful not to go too fast for Steelheart to stick next to her, making sure she wouldn't loose the blind flutterpony. Unsure of where to find Firecracker Shina chose to head for the largest building in the settlement, hopping that's where she would find the mayor, and perhaps get some answers.

Not bothering to knock Shina turned to buck the door open before ushering Steelheart inside following closely behind her and kicking the door closed again. Once inside those fuchsia eyes glanced around quickly, calling through the manor in her eastern accent. "Anyone here?"

Fang's wings beat against the air as she forced herself to reach town as quickly as possible. She could only hope that for once her feelings were wrong. That they did have more time to prepare for what was coming. But the darkening clouds and aura that gathered in the settlement only proved she was right.

That's when she spotted it. A Timber Wolf of all things in the middle of town. Growling under her breath, she flew higher into the air before collapsing her wings and diving at it. From this distance she would be able to easily land a crushing blow on its back.

Thunder spun around and dashed outside the house, Kadje on his heels. Kadje could easily out run the warhorse but he decided to leave the combat to the professionals and keep the collateral damage to a minimum. Thunder struck from the dark clouds, hitting a building's tall tower and the stone building began to come crashing down infront of the pair.

"Kadje!"

"I got this one." The prince called back, crimson flared as time began to reverse around the building, causing it to fall in reverse and then the lightning strike went backward and seemed to pause, never impacting the tower and keeping the building from actually crashing.

"Good work. we've got to get to that boat dock and meet up with the bats. Stay behind me and keep the crashing at bay." Thunder called, leaping over a demolished cart, Kadje gliding over easily. "Stay away from the timber wolf. you focus on the buildings and the lightning and keep it from hitting anyone." Kadje nodded and he kept a watch on the skyline, Thunder stepped forward to help fight the wolf, rearing and kicking his massive front hooves out at the creature to keep it from backing away from Fang's kick and Indicus's blade, closing off it's route of escape.

With the first crash of lightning, the crowd at last noticed the turning dark clouds above them and began to scream.

A small amount of panic ensued. Firecracker was far from the most athletic, and with his heavy cannon on his back he began to lag behind. Panting and gasping for air he could see that something major was going on down the road.

re-shouldering his cannon he gathered his strength to carry on.

As Indicus thrust his sword into the ribs of the wolf it bounced off it's core causing a deep crack.

The Timberwolf arched it's back in recoil only to have Shadow Fang come crashing down into it.

Shambling to it's feet it howled in anger, swiping its razor claws inches from Indicus.

Thunder barely was able to move his massive body out of the way from a snap of the jaws that could be heard from a half mile away.

With a deep crack in it's core, and much of it's wood cracked or shattered completely, the Timber wolf let out a long howl.

Suddenly a second Timber wolf jumped from a roof.

As it lounged at Thunder from behind it was broadsided by a thermite rocket.

As the second Timberwolf smoldered on the ground Firecracker peered out from behind his targeting reticle.

The barrel smoking his hooves shaking, it was clear he had never taken never killed anything before.

Breathing heavily he could only muster a single shout - "now!"

Signaling the others to finish the first one.

As he slumped to the ground, he could spy a strange mettle disk glinting in the smoldering pile.

The words on it read "Sadrack"

In the town hall the building seemed empty as Shina's desperate cries were met only with echoes and the sound of thunder outside.

Perking up a bit, Steelheart nudged Shina and said " Shina, I can feel my sister, she's near by. We must be at the town hall.

She'll help us."

But before she could get a reply some one else answered.

"Steelheart, your here at last. and after I had sent some of my ..assistants, out to find you."

It was Mayor Catchpenny, decending the stares strangely over dressed for a simple festival.

Looking down the stairs he recoiled at the sight of Shina's scaly form.

Where some pony saw pearls of beauty, all he saw was a potentially dangerous creature.

with a recoiled hoof covering part of his face he asked- "Good Goddesses, what is that? a dragon?"

Naive to his cruelty, Steelheart jumped and clung to Shina " A dragon, where? look out shina! "

Overhead the skies grew darker still, the clouds almost black as coal, and the thunder grew stronger.

In the midst of the swirling vortex Anda appeared.

she starred down with contempt down at the scattering pony below.

Asking to herself- " Is there any trace..any element of redemption to these greedy, selfish creatures? "

"Nice shooting Fi!" Thunder smirked as Fire cracker found a way to fight back.

Kadje kept redirecting lightning left and right, exhaustion began to claim him from casting so much magic so fast. sure he was a prince but even alicorns had their limits. If he stopped they'd be electrocuted in seconds! he looked around. the buildings weren't nessicarily tall anymore since Kadje couldn't save them all from getting struck. Thunder or Kadje would be the next things to be struck simply for being one of the tallest things in the area. but Fang being in the air definitely made her a lightning rod.

Thunder had kicked another timberwolf off him, he was more of a melee fighter, luckily another wolf made a foolish mistake and leapt onto his back. with a crow hop he shook the wolf's balance before rolling over, crushing it into the ground, getting up quickly. he reared, slamming front hooves into it, splintering the wooden skeleton of the creature. "Anyone got any ideas?'

Kadje panted glancing up to fang noticing a lightning bolt headed for her. He slicked his ears back and began to work some more magic at it, but the bolt redirected itself last minute and striking Kadje himself causing a shrill scream to escape the prince as he fell.

"Kadje! cover me!" Thunder left the battle front to tend to the wounded prince. Kadje was down for the count and with no one controlling the lightning, it was now out of control and striking everything that stood above ground level be it building or pony. Thunder nudges him, trying to get him to come to, he listened to his chest only to find that he was in fact breathing, just unconscious. "I'm so sorry! please. wake up."thunder nudged and nudged the pained prince until he finally woke up in a daze, staggering to get back up.

"Wrap this up fast! I don't know how much more he can take!" Thunder called, rejoining the fight as soon as Kadje was working on solving the lightning problem.

The bat pony had taken back to the sky after crushing the timberwolf. Her crimson gaze shifted over the the trembling form of Firecracker. Another soul's innocence lost. Thankfully it wasn't the life of another pony he had been forced to take. The flash of lightning blinded her for a split second before a drained Kadje accidentally directed it at himself, taking a nasty hit. "Indicus!" Fang called as she slid to a stop beside him, "Do you know any healing spells?" She cast another concerned glance at the alicorn's injured form.

"Yes I know one that should keep Kadje stable and alive." Indicus went up to Kadje and closed his eyes preparing a healing spell that would take care of the worst wounds and a moment later cast it using his hoof to direct the areas healed. When the spell finished the second and third degree burns were healed even if the scars would never go away. Kadge himself would not be able to do much but the spell made the pain bearable enough to walk. The spell itself was extensive and drew on stores that he rarely used and for good reason .

With a deep breath Indicus was able to recover enough from his exhaustion to fight and so he did, carefully drawing from the same stores he used a part of during the healing spell that as a result of how they were filled the magic was twice as potent then his own self generating stores. Indicus then created a shadow tendril using the potent magic to attempt to impale the timber wolf.

Shina couldn't help but roll her eyes at the dragon comment. She never could figure out why everypony always accused her of being some kind of dragon like it was an insult. "Where I come from dragons are the guardians of peace and order... You'll find I am not so orderly or peaceful when angered..." Despite how nice he might have acted Shina didn't have a very good feeling about the mayor at the moment. Her fuchsia eyes narrowed, a small fire seeming to dance with in their pupils. "I am a kirin, and hero of Neighppon. Now... Where is Lavender Moon?"

She assumed Steelheart's sister would be with mayor Catchpenny, yet she'd yet to see the other flutterpony. Something was defiantly up, especially considering the mayor didn't seem the least bit worried about the storm brewing outside or the panicked screams outside. If need be she would not hesitate to threaten the mayor's life if felt it necessary, perhaps even make good on such threats.

"Thankyou Indicus. No need to strain yourself assuring i'm 100%well. I can manage. " Kadje continued keeping the lightning at bay but was stuck in one place as he did so. from the ground there was not much he could do... he need to get higher. Kadje spread his massive wings gliding up on top of the town hall, landing on a balcony and using that vantage point to see further and keep the storm from destroying anything else or hitting any of the Pegasus flying around. then he noticed one in the clouds (Anda)... that was a Pegasus right? There was no way she could stay there or she'd get struck. Kadje cast a spell around her making time slow down and seem to stop as he flew to her. she and Kadje could move to their own accord but Kadje was safe from being struck.

"Hey, we need to get you on the ground under cover. It's not safe to be flying. Especially not in the middle of this cloud." The prince innocently offered Anda a hoof, unaware she was the source of the problem. "Take my hoof. I'm going to let the spell down, but we'll have to move quickly." The red sphere around them seemed to crack as his magic began wearing off and a near by lightning bolt drew nearer with each crack.

Thunder began working on getting civilians inside and out of the line of danger. Leading ponies out of the town and protecting them from timber wolves.

Fang watched as Indicus ran to go treat Kadje before turning and delivering a strong buck to the timber wolf trying to stand. She may have been on the slender side, but looks were often deceiving. Her training and time in the Lunar Guard as well as the rigorous training Commander Soul from the Order had put her through left her much stronger than she looked. The overwhelming presence of the spirit made it hard for her to focus on the whereabouts of the rest of their small group. She could only hope they were alright.

The seemingly delicate Pegasus merely gave him a cutting leer, and thought out loud- " Selflessness?.."

With a show of her spiky teeth and a sneer of malice she shattered the barrier with such force as to send Kadje careening into a large hedge in the shape of Luna.

Firecracker finally snapped out of his daze when he saw the prince fall from the sky.

Stamping his for-hoof into the dirt he argued- " Dammit!. I'm no fighter... But I am an artist."

Smirking as he opened a hatch on his cannon he started combining chemicals- " Copper salts, Iron,Nitrate,.."

slamming the hatch closed, and aiming the cannon at the sky this time he shouted "FIRE!"

The hastily assembled round going off with so much muzzle flair that it was like a flash bang.

But as it burst in a show of magnificent blue light, what looked like a spider's web of lighting formed a roof over head.

Tiny metal particles were attracting the electricity.

Dancing glittering shards of saving grace in the form of a chaff grande; One of his better works to be sure.

Holding his hoofs over his ears in pain Firecracker shouted " You have one hour!. Kadje, I need your speed. Please, if you can hear me.. you have to find Shina. trust me you'll know when you find her.

With the Betas defeated the remaining Temberlings were disorganized, but still very much a threat.

But at least for the moment they wouldn't have to worry about being barbecued.

-In the Town Hall-

As the mayor reached the bottom of the stares he showed a strange twitch in his crooked smile.

"Well well. Aren't we something special. I must say I've never heard of such a place. But that's not important."

Slowly walking around them in a large circle he explained-" you asked me were Lavender Moon is. It's quite simple.

She's resting somewhere safe while this minor thunderstorm passes."

Raising a hoof to his lips he seemed even more detached as he added -"First the Fireworks get canceled then this weather.. This festival isn't quite as grandiose as I had hoped it would be. "

Steelheart suddenly let out a yelp " Shina" as she began to tremble.

Something was frightening her about this situation.

Was it another case of her intuition?

Before she could say anything else Mayor Catchpenny again started talking- " Now then, can I help you with something? Any guest of my dear Steelheart is a guest in my manor, but I am very busy if you don't have business with me. "
