Fandom My Little Pony Frontier

Crimson hues studied the two new ponies approaching them. Without her hood on, the various scars across her face was visible. "So you're Steelheart?" She said as she approached the flutter pony. "I'm Shadow Fang, it's nice to get to meet you." It didn't take long for her to notice the lack of focus in the pony's eyes. She's blind? That would certainly make things a tad more difficult.

Looking slightly off from where the voices were coming from Steelheart introduced herself- " Yes ma'am. I'm The mayors interpreter and one of the representatives of the Grove of Greenhoof. " her eyes drawing down in sad reaction, she corrected herself- " .I mean Equinox."

Changing the subject she asked- " You say my sister is almost here.. May Miss Shina come with us? "

It was at this the Mayor interrupted - " My dear, sweet, Steelheart. How was your rest? Feeling well today?"

A bit taken off guard by his sudden questions, and ignoring of her own, all she could do was stammer out- " y,yes. I'm fine but-."

Again he interrupted- "Marvelous! With you here things will go much smoother with your dear sister. "

Taking slight offence, a scowl started to form on Steelhearts face as she again asked- " Mayor Catchpenny, may my friend miss Shina please come with me to see my sister?"

With his nose back in his ledger he halfheartedly replied- " Hmm? oh yes, yess, whatever makes you happy dear."

As a ship called The Sunflower lowered it's loading ramp a striking flutter pony stood on the deck ready to come ashore.

Fang's frown had returned again at the Mayor's attitude. Oh yes, the two of them were going to get along just fine . . . far, far away from one another. Shaking her head slightly, she returned her attention back towards Steelheart. "Interpreter, you said? What do you interpret?" The clang of the load ramp striking the deck caught her attention. She studied the pony getting ready to depart. That must be who the mayor was talking about earlier...

Snapping to attention Steelheart replied -" Yes ma'am! As a flutter pony I am able to speak with-" The loud sound of the ramp making her jump.

Hearing a heavily accented voice call out "Steelheart!" She lowered her head and finished "Her ..for one."

The mayor then added- " Wonderful isn't it. she is fluent in both common speech, flutter pony, and even other forms of communication."

Slowly The new flutter pony descended the ramp.

Each step was deliberate and graceful, like the stride of a royal pony.

She appered to be more mature then her younger sister in every way.

And for once, the mayors eyes were fixed on something other then his papers.

Indicus watched the new flutterpony and more importantly what was going on around them, if he was going to do this job like it or not, he would not half-ass it when the two flutterponies reunited he let myself crack a small smile.

Noticing how Steelheart stiffened and get demeanor changed Shina leaned in to whipper to the flutterpony. "If your feeling overwhelmed we could always make a run for it." An almost playful grin crossed her lips. She was mostly kidding, hopping to return Steelheart smile, but if the flutterpony really did wish to escape the situation Shina was more then willing to help.

Steeelheart's eyes cut quickly in Shina's direction conveying a sense of anxiety.

Anypony seeing the look on her face could tell she was considering her suggestion to run.

But takeing a deep breath she turned her attention back towards the New arrival.

Once in the midst of the group, the New pony gave a graceful bow of the head to each pony before trying to speak- "Steelheart-"

She was quickly interupted by the mayor-"Lavender Moon, you look as stunning as ever and might I say-" for once he was stopped by Lavender moon placing her hoof over his mouth.

Without even turning to acknowledge Mayor Catchpenny she tryed again- "Steelheart

är denna skadegörare behandlar dig väl ?"

(Steelheart, is this pest treating you well?)

Steelheart made direct eye contact for the first time with Lavender Moon and simply replied "Ja syster"

(yes sister)

Their strange tongue was confusing to most, but clearly used to mask the conversation from some of the pony involved

Shina tilted her head listening to the strange language. She only knew her native tongue and the common tongue. Still she tried to follow the conversation by watching the two flutterponies expressions and body language. She didn't particularly like how uncomfortable Steelheart seemed. For a second her gaze shifted to scan their surroundings, thinking on what could be set ablaze with out hurting anypony should a convenient distraction be needed.

A small smile tugged at the corners of Fang's mouth as Lavender Moon hushed the mayor. While the tongue was unfamiliar to her, she couldn't blame them for not wanting to be understood. She could only hope she could find some time to talk to the flutter ponies alone for a few moments.

Indicus watched the two speak in what must have been their native tongue after Lavender Moon silenced the mayors kissing up polite words and smiled for a moment having a feeling that the mayor was a topic of interest.

Steelheart's eyes again lowered as she nervously asked- "Syster , kan jag tala fritt med dig ? och kan mina vänner komma ?

(Sister, may I speak freely with you? and may my friends come?)

After an understanding nod Lavender moon spoke in a heavily accented voice- " Herr Catchpenny, I would like to speak with my sister and her entourage."

Taking a step forward the mayor let out a happy- "Of course of course, shall I send for some-" Again she interrupted his hoof licking " Alone!"

Taking a bit of a rejected change of tone the mayor had little choice but to agree " oh.. oh I see.. yes, well be sure to be on time for the festivities. Their is even a performance by one canterlot best show pony"

As the mayor turned and began to walk off, tears began to well up in Steelheart's eyes until she broke down and rushed into her sisters bosom"Syster!"

(Sister!)

As she nuzzled her sister, Lavender Moon's couldn't help but comfort her sister.

despite her hard exterior, it was clear she loved her sister dearly.

Turning to the rest, Lavender Moon invited- " Come, We walk now. "

As they walked, Steelhearts face began to regain her normal smile.

It seemed that her stress was related to the her sister being around the Mayor.

For a while, the two whispered back and forth in their native tongue before Lavender Moon spoke up-" So, you two are my syster's guards yes?. I thank you for looking after her."

And looking over her other shoulder she added - "And Fröken Shina. I thank you for being friend to my syster. She is lonely in these lands now.."

As they walked she would often look at the developing buildings and construction with a hint of disgust.

Finally after a full kilometer of walking she stopped and announced- " I'm sorry. I'm sure you have many questions, I have wasted much time but I must be sure we are alone."

Cracking her first smile sense she got her she turned to face the other ponies questions.

Indicus relaxed letting go of the guard facade in favor of a more relaxed demeanor. "I hate to cut to the more unpleasant questions but I want to ask, why the urgency and secrecy? I have a few ideas but would prefer to hear it from an actual source." Indicus scanned the surrounding area with a passive detection spell to make sure they had no followers.

Closing her eyes, Fang took a slow breath. Where could she even begin? Would it be best to bring these up in front of the others? Indicus deserved to if he wanted to help keep things from falling apart tonight. The Kirin, Shina, seemed to be in this for the long haul as well... The bat pony gave a slight shake of her head. "Don't be sorry, it's for the best that we're out of earshot."

She gave a bow, eyes still closed. "I am Shadow Fang of the Order," Finally, crimson hues looked up towards Lavender Moon. "As your people prefer to be more isolated, it's understandable you haven't heard of us, very few have." She straightened, "We're an organization devoted to keeping peace and harmony, however we also act as guards maintaining the seals on various dangerous magics and spirits. I was sent to investigate a potentially weakening seal, though it seems I've already located to cause." Her head bowed once more, "I am here to help in any way that I can. A blade to use how you see fit, I'll do what it takes to take care of this spirit."

Indicus recognized the name of the organization, the group worked in secret and independently of the princesses, besides that and what Shadow Fang said a moment ago he knew nothing but could say they were very well trained. He only met one other member and even then it was just because of the record he and his squad had in covert and off the book ops that he even was told and was sworn to secrecy along with his squad their mission was a off the books joint op for an artifact that proved difficult to obtain.

But it was the second part that worried him it just confirmed his gut feeling and the puzzling feeling when he thought of the prophetic fortune that the dragon/pegasus spirit told him. He then had the odd feeling that the princesses did not request him an ex-guard turned head of an assassins guild with one hell of a track record for the difficult missions for just guarding a isolated frontier town that could have been done by the royal guard. The princesses probably had tabs on seals placed in the world. "Fuck me" Indicus muttered after realizing a very probable reason as to why the princesses wanted him here.

Lavender Moon's eyes widened at Shadow Fang's mention of a spirit.

Blurting out- "själen?" she turned to Steelheart who replied with a reluctant "den kan vara"

(The Spirit?) (It may be)

Clearing her throat She tried began- "well, let me start by saying min Syster has made some strong and diverse friends."

First turning to Indicus she tried to explain "Secondly, to answer your question.. The reason for all the secrecy is quite simple.. "

Pausing to think she tried to word it - " what is word..force? no.. Steelheart vad is word? utpressning"

Steelheart only spoke in a mousey tone as she answered "..Extortion"

Nodding in agreement " Ja, that. Not everything here is as it seems. and worse still I fear things may get worse. There is no pony I trust save for those with my sister's blessing to speak of this to."

Resting her hoof on each of the bat ponies shoulders she added " If själen truly is among us, it won't be me in need of blade" with an encouraging wink. " But I will be counting on the two of you to keep my dear sister safe in the times to fallow."

Gracefully turning and walking over to Shina she starred at the container around her neck.

With a bit of surprise she said " I see you to have a powerful Anda with you.. You fear this creature greatly don't you filly?.. You would be a fool not to. "

Taking a sort of big sister attitude she tried to comfort her- " But don't worry, I won't allow anything to come of my systers beloved friend."

In truth, there would be little she could have done should the phoenix escape, but she felt moral was most important at this point.

She then added- " It is up to you I must ask the most important job.. Please, look after my syster's ..how do you say..her heart?"

She was trying to convey a concern for Steelheart's purity of spirit.

Indicus gave an informal bow with a smile, "I think I understand. I will guard your sister to the best of my ability." Indicus then said "Zu'u vaat nau sosi." words that in the bat pony language that Shadow Fang would understand to mean 'I swear on my blood'. Something Indicus had not done since he swore revenge on the one who killed his squad and lover before successfully taking that revenge several months later.

OOC:(Will discuss what language to use for the "bat pony" language with Kage)

At the mention of extortion, Fang's frown had returned. I knew that rat was lying to me. She couldn't help but wonder how much the princesses were involved in this. But this wasn't the time to worry about that. Following Indicus, she also bowed. "I will guard her with everything I have." Her eyes flickered towards her fellow bat pony at his last phrase. She only gave a slight nod in response.

Though she wasn't overly sure what entourage translated to in her native tongue Shina assumed she was included in that grouping and followed along silently with the others. She was silent as the others spoke, not knowing enough about this land to have any input on that was sealed here. It wasn't till Lavender Moon spoke to her that her attention peaked. Those fuchsia eyes widened at the mention of the spirit she carried with her. How did this flutterpony know such things?

Silent for a second as she thought of how to respond Shina gave a quick shake off her head to let her hood fall back. If Lavender Moon knew this much there was probably no need to hide what she was. "Konton's flames were never able to harm me. I fear more what he can do to others, but I will not allow him to harm any here." She assured Lavender Moon, and the others. "I am told my name means virtue in the common tongue... On my virtue, any who seek to harm her's shall burn in the purest of fires..."

Lavender Moon smiled warmly at Shina saying -"such a lovely filly . the world is full of such diverse pony. Never hide what you are. Pride of race is all that makes us unique. But it should never divide us."

It would seem Steelheart wasn't the only pony who gave lofty pep-talks, but her common was a bit better then Her sisters.

Lavender Moon went on to say " I thank you for your kindness. We say Flutter pony are more magic then mare, but to have assembled such a group of good pony to be by her side.. It seems my lack of faith in my sister may be..misplaced."

Around the same time the others started talking the mayor had reached the town square.

He was in a nervous sweat but kept that political grin on his face as he passed the ever growing crowd of ponies.

Earth unicorn pegasi they came from all corners of equestria for this event that was turning into more of a party then an opening day festival .

Finally he approached Firecracker who was trying to get some sleep after finishing his work.

Clearing his throat in an exaggerated way, he woke him up saying "laying down on the job are we?"

Stumbling awake, Firecracker could only reply" I'm up I'm up! "

Taking a superior tone the mayor demanded- change of plans. The fireworks start in one hour."

Firecracker looked back confused "it's not even noon. No one will see fireworks in broad daylight"

Laving a hoof dismissively the mayor replied "you'll still be paid none the less, your contract is through the divine sisters themselves. "

Taking offence he snapped back "it's not about the Bits It's my art."

Laughing in his face, the mayor responded "ok fine. 300 more Bits.. For the sake of 'art' "

Standing up in disgust Firecracker had had it. "You know what. Keep your dirty Bit. I'm done taking crap from a sniveling parasprite like you."

As he stormed off mayor Catchpenny didn't even react saying "well I guess the signing ceremony will be that much sooner.

Shina considered Lavender Moon's words for a moment before closing her eyes. For a second hey antler like horn glowed as the cloak covering the rest of hey scaled form suddenly burst in to flames, burning away to nothing after which the flames immediately dissipated. The display probably made it quite clear what her cutie mark stood for. "Just hope I don't have to explain to anypony that I'm not half dragon again." She muttered to hey self, recalling one of her first encounters with western ponies.

Fang watched Shina's display before nodding. "I guess it's true that Kirin have a mastery over flames at a young age. Though I've only met a couple during my travels." A soft chuckle escaped her lips at the Kirin's last remark. "I'm sure that can become quite the nuisance." She placed a hoof on the buckle of her own cloak. Her mind raced back and forth as she debated on showing them or not. Chances are they were going to see her without her cloak at some point. Especially if she had to fly somewhere.

She unsnapped the clasp, the dark cloth slipped to the ground revealing the rest of her form. Her wings were considerably larger than the average bat pony's, the lightweight armor on them flashed in the sunlight. Blades could extend from the tip of both wings if she had to fight midair. Scales took the place of what should have been short, soft fur. Scars from claws could be seen going down her back and across her chest. Her right flank and most of that side was heavily scarred. Burns from enchanted dragon fire.

Indicus watched the two mares and upon seeing Shadow Fang he wondered what the hell had happened to get scars that bad. Dispite the reveal of what these ponies were he did not worry knowing nothing really changed about them except for gaining a respect for the trials both must have faced in the past, if anything this was a reminder that he was not the only one to face hellish odds and trials at some point.
