Fantasy MoonSpell Academy For Supernaturals (Open!)

"Ein looked at May smiling and said, "I see... Good thing nothing bad happened. Now then I should get going. I don't want to bother you," he said to her.

@Crystal Cali

May lets out a small breath of relief. "Umm... you're not really bothering me." She thinks for a moment, then a look crosses her face as if she had just remembered something. "Actually, I think I'll go down to the library."

"The library huh... You know I think some reading would be nice. The school must have all sorts of books waiting to bestow me knowledge," he said with an optimistic face. "I'll come with you if that's all right with you."

@Crystal Cali

May nods. "Sure. I have to check something online real quick, then maybe I'll try to read up on my element.... because I really have no idea how elemental magic works."

"All right then. I can help you with that if you want. We may or may not have the same elemental type, but I can at least help you with the basics."

@Crystal Cali

May nods and grabs her map off of her desk before heading out the door and down to the library. "I haven't really gotten the chance to explore around the school much yet," she comments in her usual quiet voice as she walks.

@YoungX

Ein walks out and follows May. He saw her with the map and thought that she probably wasnt used to the layout. "We're still new students here, so it makes sense. Don't worry you'll get to know this place well I'm sure of it," he said to her with a warm smile of encouragement.

@Crystal Cali

May smiles back at Ein and nods. "Eventually." She follows the map through the halls, and eventually they would reach the library. "Oh. It's bigger than I thought," she comments. After a moment of standing by the door and examining the place, she locates the area where the computers are. May talks to a librarian first to make sure she knows how to log on before going to sit at one of the computers.

Ein decides to grab a book about elements, so that he could try and help out May. He went back to where she was. Since he didn't want to disturb her, he started reading the book.

All sorts of interesting facts such as flow and aura were written. He felt happy that he was learning new things. There was a nice child-like look that he had while reading. It had this "cute" impression to it which Aria, his guardian, described it as.

@Crystal Cali

May opens the internet browser and goes to log into her e-mail, but pauses to think before putting in her password. It had been a year since she checked this e-mail, and it was probably full of junk, but the guy who drove her here told her to check it for some reason. It takes a couple tries but she logs in. The inbox is, of course, filled almost entirely with junk mail, but there was one e-mail that caught her eye. May opens it and reads.

Dear May,

I don't know how much of what happened father would have told to you, but you deserve to know. I'll give you the short version of the story, since I'm sure you're busy making new friends. Basically, he's bankrupt. Father can't afford to pay for your schooling, so he asked me. I told him that if I was paying, then I would choose the school. Reluctantly, to keep himself from looking like a complete fool, and risking others finding out about his situation, he agreed.

You told me a long time ago that you dreamed of coming to MoonSpell and becoming a talented witch like mom. I hope you held onto that dream, little sister, because I know you can do it. You're going to be the best. Don't let anything anyone has ever told you convince you any different.

Love,

Luna

May covered her mouth as her emotions threatened to overflow again. There were so many things she wanted to write back, so many questions that needed to be answered, but Ein was sitting not that far, and she'd definitely start crying again if she tried to write that letter. So May simply hit the reply button, typed Thank You and sent her response. After saving her sister's e-mail, and logging off the computer, May walked over to Ein.

"Wh-what did you find?" her voice cracked. Maybe she should have waited a few more seconds before trying to speak.

"Well actually there's quite a whole slew of facts in this one book. I could tell you plenty, but I'll give you the basic knowlrdge that I know first. Elemental magic is all about understanding mana, aura and flow.

Mana, or whatever people call it, is akin to life energy. Some would argue it is a part of our life energy. It's used for the basis of all magic. Increasing ones total mana requires extensive practice and application repeatedly. Aura is the use of our life energy into something that protects us. It can be classified as the manipulation of energy, and how we use it is all on us. Finally there is flow, which is the theory of energy control. Just as blood moves through our bloodstreams, energy also moves through us. To create a harmonious synergetic balance allows us to emit a much stronger life energy. The mastery over all three is key to becoming one of the strongest. Those are the basics that I have learned through reading as a child," Ein said with a face befitting that of a mentor. This knowledge was accumulated through studying and reading. To improve himself, he would also have to master the three principles.

@Crystal Cali

May listens intently, and nods every so often as Ein speaks. "Okay. Umm.... s-so our class should start off teaching us how to increase mana, right? I-I mean... they wouldn't expect us to know already," May says, sounding a bit worried she might have missed out on something.

"They could do that first, but the tricky part is being able to increase mana in the first place," he said to May with his eyes giving off a teaching vibe.

"You see everyone is born with a certain amount and potential for mana. Even those who are not proficient in magic have mana to a certain extent. Take for instance runners and chess players. Two very opposite fields, but at the same time similar. They have mastered and trained in order to stand at the top. People similar to that actually have quite the amount of mana," he said hoping not to confuse her.

"Mana is inherent within us, and one must think of it as a part of our body first. It can be akin to muscle in a way. Each person is unique, and so what one person does to increase their mana is different for another. There is no right or wrong way to approach it. Even something as simple as reading can increase aura because of the fact that one is gaining knowledge. Everyone has their way, and if the school were to teach us this, then they would most likely tell us to find our own way. Also the teachers don't actually expect us to know mana. Even the strongest of makes and fighters don't bother to understand mana."

"Oh, okay. So," May pauses to think "Mana is the energy, aura is the power to use the energy with out element, and flow is how we control what we create?" she asks, hoping she followed along well enough.

He gave a smile to indicate that she was understanding it, "Yeah that's about right. Using those three will not only help you with elemental magic, but basically magic and combat in general. Even those who don't use magic follow the three principles to enhance themselves. That's how people create abilities and use them to fight." He said to May happy that he was able to bestow knowledge.

@Crystal Cali

May smiles, happy she was able to keep up. "I suppose this isn't really hard to understand. I didn't really know any of this before, though. How do you already know so much?"

"As a child, I had this deep yearning for knowledge. Even it was as trivial as certain dates in history. So, I helped myself and read all sorts of books about it. It also helped that my guardian taught me the basics of magic and combat," he had this look of nostalgia when talking about the past. For Ein, not knowing who his parents were created a desire for understanding things in life. Knowledge gives him the ability to understand."In any case, if you want I can go more in-depth with it. There's all sorts of things to learn, he asked May.

@Crystal Cali

May smiles and nods. "Umm, sure. It would be nice to know a little bit before starting classes. That way, I won't be too lost."

"All right then on to the next lesson," he took a sheet of paper from the printer with permission and brought it back with a pencil.

"I have already told you the three principles, and now I'll teach you about the kinds of magic as well as aura types," he took the pencil in his left hand and began writing a chart. "The first kind is enhancement magic, which is one of the most basic types. To strengthen is its raw purpose. Out of all the types it is the easiest to grasp, but it does not make it the weakest either," he told May after writing down destruction magic and what it does. After that is Conjuration which focuses on summoning all sorts of things. Next is Transmutation which is about changing the properties of all things. Manipulation is control of all things as well as changing perception (I.E illusion). Emission is the deployment of energy, mana, aura. These are the five types of magics," he waited to see if May had questions.

@Crystal Cali

May would wait until Ein was finished writing before sliding the paper closer to where she was and running her fingers along the chart as she memorized each type of magic and it's definition. She would be silent for a loner period of time, but eventually she would be confident that she understood. The definitions were easy, the thought that popped into May's head was more about what was about to come. "Is there a... umm... standard order we're supposed to learn how to do these in? Some of them sound harder than others."

"No not really. Everyone is born with a certain disposition, and you'll find that they have an innate disposition towards at most two kinds of magic. One can learn them all, but they are more proficient at certain types than others which makes it better to just improve in the fields you are catered towards. It is the same as someone who can play a sport much better than others trying to learn to play chess. They are better off training in their specialized field. Most likely they will test students to find out their specialization," Ein said with certainty.

@Crystal Cali

"It definitely does," he smiled back. "Now then, on to aura. As I've told you, aura is the manipulation and application of energy. There are different types of aura that correspond to elements," he listed the types of elements on the paper. (See Simple - Moonspell Academy for the Supernatural)

"Based on your element, you can use your aura in many different ways especially when combined with the types of magic. I am also sure we will also find out element specialization as well," he had another look of certainty.

@Crystal Cali

May tilts her head to the side and thinks for a moment. "So, does the element I use make certain types of magic easier that others?" she asks curiously.

"Quite the observation you have there. In some fashion, elements and magic are usually linked. For example having a fire element can create some interesting results if one's specialization happened to include manipulation. Then something like controlling heat is highly feasible for that person," he gave another smile to compliment her.
