Lauren grinned, "Aren't you charasmatic? Don't you wonder where father is? After all. The last time anyone in this pack has seen him, was when he was Alpha. You weren't even born. Do you even know what kind of wolf you are about to face?" She smiled widely. Her father was known for being rough, but he was a lot more then that.

Johnathan sighed in annoyance, but even so he was smiling faintly. "Well considering everyone keeps telling me to return to the pack I am hoping I can figure something out from there. Unless you're going to help me? You said I should speak to him. Or should I continue on my way to the pack and work it out myself?" He asked, crossing his arms. His aunt was a little strange to him, but he had always liked her well enough.

Lauren grinned more, "Father and mother rest just passed the mountain pack. A good day in a half run if your don't stop. If I were you, I would go to the pack. You need all the help you can get. Father doesn't trust scent alone and he has never seen you. If you aren't careful, he'll kill you before you get a chance to convince him who you are." She waved him back yo the pack, "Take to my brother, War will be back soon. I'm sure he can show you how father deals with his trust and your father will explain what he needs to assure the pack survives. Be a good pup, Jonathan. I have to go now. I killed enough time." She smirked as she turned to leave but stopped, "If you can, run to mother. Father is powerful and deadly but mother was the only one that stood against him and controlled him with a simple glance. Now she is impressive when you let he get started." She said as she started to walk away.

Johnathan smirked and nodded his understanding. He had never met his grandparents and thinking of doing so was...odd. He waited until Lauren had left before turning and going towards the pack. Searching out the scent of either his mother or father. He wasn't so sure his father would agree to him meeting his grandfather, but he didn't have anything to lose by asking....he hoped at least. It didn't take too long to catch on to the scent of his father and he headed in that direction as quick as he could. On the other hand, his father just might kill him himself for interrupting about this with possible war on the brink.

Arthur sighed as he smelled Jonathan, he knew what he was thinking. Lauren had left the way Elric said that he left jonathan. He hoped to have a little more time but he was sure there wasn't time. He turned to his wife and Keith. "That is all. Be ready be night fall. Everyone will leave under the cover of night. You two will go to the nearest pack first. The Alpha there is Henry. Our treaty with him needs to be honored and you need to make sure he will come and help if we need him."

Johnathan approached the area where his mother and father were a bit cautiously now that he had arrived. He was nervous, he'd never admit it, but as much as he loved his father the Alpha made him uneasy. When he heard his father dismissing Keith and his mother, he stepped into the room. "Can we talk?" He asked. He realized he was foolish to think his father may not know why he was there. His father surely knew exactly why he was there.

Arthur sighed as he turned to his son, "Lauren told you about your grandparents?! Where to find them and what to do not to be killed by my father?" He stated

Johnathan clenched his jaw a little, but he felt himself trying to stand firm. "She told me about them. Told me if I didn't want to be killed that I needed all the help I could get and to come back to you." He said. "If she had told me how to avoid being killed....other than running to my grandmother...I would have gone alone." He added with a shrug.

"You are never to be alone, jonathan!" Arthur snapped. It was a different aggression then he had shown before. "From now on, no one of this family will move alone and there will be caution in every step taken. Am I understood?" There was no point to hid the war, Jonathan already knew more then he should before Arthur could tell both his son's.

Johnathan narrowed his eyes a little. He was frustrated with everything happening. He nearly made a comment about hos his father shouldn't care, but he smartly kept his mouth shut and kept any other snarky comments to himself. "Then are you going to tell me or show me how to get there? Lauren seemed to think it was important." He said. Though really who knew? No one was being clear or straight with him and it annoyed him. "Or am I just supposed to wait around here like a good pup and stay out of everyone else's way?" He added. His father's tone bothered him. It wasn't like what he was used to and it was unsettling.

Arthur waved Jonathan away "Get your brother. He is in the arena with the elite. No one is allowed to leave the Pack town without my permission. I need to explain this to your both and it's easier to do it now that Lauren said something then later now. Go. Get Wade and I will explain your mission when you get back."

Johnathan hesitated only a moment, then without another word turned to go. He went to the arena where Wade and the elite were training, watching for a moment before interrupting. "Wade," He called out to try to get his brother's attention. "We're supposed to go to father. Now. Something has come up." He said. He was watching his brother's every move. He would be lying if he said he wasn't jealous of his brother. He'd also be lying if he said he didn't hope a little bit that he'd get knocked flat on his ass. But he wouldn't say either of those outloud.

Wade paused as he turned to his brother, looking confused as the Elite stopped turning between the brothers. Wade sighed as he walked towards Jonathan, "Now what?" He said, "He already grounded the whole pack, what could he want with us now. Is he going to ground is in our rooms now." He said annoyed as he walked towards Jonathan. "Whatever. Let's go." He said. He had never been restricted and that made him feel caged and it was pissing him off slowly as time went by slowly.

Johnathan couldn't help but to smile. So his brother really truly was grounded too? Something about Wade's annoyance with the whole thing made Johnathan happy, if only because they were the exact same feelings that he had. He chuckled a little as his brother joined him and they started back to their father. He debated telling Wade what it was about, he enjoyed knowing something that his brother didn't. "Dad has a 'mission' for us or something. It has to do with our grandparents." He explained. Wanting just a brief moment more of knowing something Wade didn't before their father explained everything to them.

Wade stopped surprised as he turned to Jonathan. "No." He shock his head, "It can't. Our grandparents are War Wolves. Grandmother was the head of the Elite. And she is, for the lack of a better word, wild. And grandfather is a Killer Alpha. He took over more then three packs by killing half the males and the Alphas just to expand our packs reach. Father wouldn't involve his parents for anything pack related." He paused thinking a moment, "Unless...." Then looked to Jonathan, "Shifters. Shit. Come on." He said before he started to run towards where his father waited.

Johnathan's glee at knowing something his brother didn't was extremely short lived. But his sudden change in attitude and total lack of anything negative directed at Johnathan was enough to keep him silent as he sprinted to keep up with his brother. It didn't take them long to reach their father at a full out run and in no time they were back with him. Johnathan was looking between the two, still a little afraid he was going to be excluded from whatever was happening now he had gotten Wade.

Wade stormed in , " Shifters. That's what you were tracking, wasn't it? Last night you caught the scent of a shifter, that's why you didn't get home until we woke up? Why you looked distracted, this morning? Why you sent me off to train with the Elite and why we went to the cage? It's the only reason that you even considered advancing our training?" He growled.

Arthur listened to him before he snapped into action, he moved faster the Wade had seen him and pinned Wade to the wall with enough force to warn Wade from struggling but not enough to restrict his air, "What do you know about shifters?"

Wade growled, "The archives. A good alpha should know everything about his pack. Including it's history."

Arthur glared, "My father restricted those records for him alone."

Wade shock his head, "No.he restricted it against all wolves. But the alpha born. The archives allowed me to see that war. That record."

Arthur stepped back surprised before he returned to his composer, "So, my father seems to have thought of more ways to make fighting a key trait in this pack." He sighed before stepping back from Wade. He glanced to Jonathan the turned away, taking a few stepped away from them. "Shifters are stronger then us. They can shift their form in a blink of an eye and telepathically link with their victims. There is no password, action or power we have that can stop them. In the last War, my father had to sacrifice his Beta to defeat them and he was not happy with that action. On many occasions it was clear she was more then just a tool, like all other wolves my father had contact with." He sighed as he turned to his son's. "My role was to kill the snipers of shifters that spotted any wolves attacking. I was the fastest, the quietest and the only one that could get close enough without telepathic connection. My father drilled me to control it very young. To him, you two should be nearly finish with training. Jonathan should be starting his leadership role with the Beta Force and Wade should be the leader of the Elite. But neither of you are that close. This will make dealing with him hard for all of us. But he is the only Alpha that had defeated the shifters and I already endangered this pack enough. I let one of the snipers live. I let him go and he was the only surviver of the last attack. I'm sure he is the one that is leading this group of shifters and although I am not as naive and young as then, I failed as an alpha born, at an important War. Your mission, both of you, will be to bring my parents back to the pack. You will have to convinced them, since my father apparently already knows what I did and he will believe it is my kill not his responsibility anymore and my mother might not want to come back to a pack that my father build up more with blood of packs and War."

Johnathan stiffened as he watched his father pin Wade to the wall, watching and listening with wide eyes, but he stayed absolutely silent and still. He had never seen his father so agitated, or so concerned about something. It brought home to him how truly serious this whole situation was. "We'll leave as soon as you give us the say so...but...Why do any of you think he's going to listen to either of us?" He asked, narrowing his eyes. He would go to watch Wade's back, that was his position after all. But with how the others felt about him being the beta, with the fact that no one thought he should be int he position, he was fairly certain his grandfather would agree tenfold. That alone would probably piss him off and then they would be going to talk to him about a problem that should have been solved decades ago. There was no part of this that was going to work in their favor.

"Because I am going go be alpha. Right?" Wade stated, "Garrett will have another chance to insure his pack is strong with me."

Arthur nodded, "My father will do anything to make sure this pack is a War pack forever. We have been at peace for so long he will see you both as an opportunity to insure this pack is powerful. My mother will just be happy you exist." He sighed turning his sons, "You leave shortly after your mother and Keith leave. You need to bring them back, no matter what. My father knows how they think better then anyone. He and Julius lead this with and iron strict manner, but they made sure this pack were never victims of others and made it impossible for any wolf to feel scared of leaving the pack alone, even with shifters out there. I need him here to advise me." He explained and smirked, "And I will need Julius as well, soon. So, don't be surprised if a wolf doesn't act as they normally would. My father works best with Julius and my mother works better when my father is 100%."

Wade sighed as he nodded, "We will bring them back, no matter what it will take." He turned to Jonathan, "Come on. We have to get ready. I need to explain exactly what makes shifters dangerous, and what it will take."

For the first time Johnathan didn't argue or frankly act like a brat. He nodded once, his jaw set in determination. He gave his father one last look, then turned to follow Wade so they could prepare and so his brother could explain things to him. He had heard the term 'shifter' before, but he had always assumed it referred to wolves. It had never been explained when he asked and he didn't bother with it much. So this was most certainly information he was eager to learn.

Wade sighed as they walked "So, do you know anything about shifters. Pure shifters, not like us?"

Johnathan shook his head, instinctively waiting for the tone that suggested he was stupid...a tone he felt he often got from most wolves in the pack. "No, I don't. I ave heard the name said but either no one knows what they are or they don't want to talk about them. I mean...I can wager a guess based off what they're called." He said, looking to his brother as they walked.

Wade smirked nodding , "You could but that's pretty simple." He sighed before continuing, "Shifters are not created by nature, like we are. They are actually the root of what we are. Nature took shifter DNA and fused it with wolves to create us. That's how we shift between forms. Nature created us in a single shift, which locks us to one form. But shifters can shift their forms to anything, like the grass, a bear or even a human. They have no true form and like father said, they are powerful, using telepathic powers like the Alphas of all packs. Making the alpha and alpha borns the only wolves that can handle a shifter with ease. They hate our kind because of how we were created. They claim we are abominations of their own and must be killed. At least that is what we got from them in the last war. Are you understanding?" He asked before continuing.

Johnathan gave him a look but then nodded. "So far yes. Surely we aren't the only pack that has handled them though. Is that why father is sending out mother and Keith?" He asked, getting ahead and possibly interrupting Wade's little history lesson.

Wade chuckled, "That's right. You don't really know too much about our past. We started when a wolf formed a group within a larger pack. The slaughtered a quarter of the pack before leaving to form the moonlight pack. Before Father, this pack was all about War and proving how powerful it was. Even with only a few wolves. We are the many threat to an all out shifter war against the packs. Or at least we were. I'm sure there are some wolves as powerful as we used to be, but not everyone like before. The moonlight pack is a target because we were the most feared pack even with many other packs. Take out the biggest enemy and the others fall like dominoes. First lesson in Warfare."
