When they entered the bullpen, War was breathing hard as Elric let him go. Elric turned to Wade and then stopped Jonathan. He didn't look happy, he turned to War and excused himself before moving to the exist passing Wade. "Alpha born." He said before leaving.

Wade thought it was strange how he glared at Jonathan but he would deal without later. "Uncle War."

War turned to his nephews, "No. Whatever you are here for no."

Wade grinned, "I only have a few questions."

"And I said no.last time you had questions you used the answers to beat up Aaron."

"Well, father said to use the knowledge you can get. Aaron has a power, I don't. Be smart is what father always says."

"No!" War said more firmly.

Johnathan returned Elric's glare, refusing to back down. Though the other wolf's words still echoed in his mind, bothering him. He knew it should be an easy fix, but he'd always had a temper and that was hard to control than he liked to admit.
Then he turned his attention to Wade and War and smirked a little. "A plan huh?" He asked Wade playfully as the situation seemed to not be going well at first. Though he knew it was fully possible for this to be a part of his brother's plan. Johnathan debated speaking up, just flat out telling their uncle why they needed information. He wasn't so sure that was going to go over well though.
"Uncle War it's for the safety of the pack, can't you at least manage to hear us out? You're going to get pulled into all of this one way or another anyway." Johnathan said with the faintest of amused smirks.

War looked at Jonathan, "I fight with the Elite. My role is clear in keeping the pack safe. I have a mission of my own to complete."

Wade nodded, "True. But our mission has to do with your parents."

"Again. No. Besides, War Wolves are not exactly something to toy with."

"We know and who better to help then a War wolf. You know your parents."

War sighed turning to his nephews completely, "My answer is not changing. Everything you need to know about War Wolves can be found in the archives so just read about it." He said as he moved to walk passed them.

"You're right. But the white fury will take to her grandchildren a lot better if they know something personal. I don't know if you really do, but I would like grandmother to come back instead of two pack lead wolves like the alpha born and beta born being killed."

War stopped turning annoyed to Wade, "Seriously? Wade. Blackmail. You are just like your father."

Wade smirked, "So people say. But mr. Perfect probably didn't have to fight so much."

War sighed, "What do you want?"

As War started to move to leave, Johnathan positioned himself in front of the door. No, he had no misconception that he'd be able to stop his Uncle. His being there would be just a tiny deterrent and pause in order to buy Wade at least a second more of time. It also gave him a pretty good vantage to watch the interaction between his brother and uncle. It was especially odd to hear they comparing Wade to Arthur. Johnathan grinned though when War agreed to at least listen to them. He stepped away and stepped with them further into the room. "We need to be able to get to them without being killed, we need to prove we're their grandchildren so they'll listen instead of kill. In the very least we have to prove it to Soph first." Johnathan explained.

War glanced at Jonathan, "White Fury. My mother isn't someone to be taken lightly."

Wade nodded, "We understand that. Is that my little brother means, is we need grandmother's trust and quickly."

War sighed, "You don't know War wolves, do you Jonathan? It's not about blood. A War wolf will kill their first born if they can't true them."

Wade smirked, "I tried to tell him I needed to explain a War wolf but hr wouldn't listen. But uncle War, we don't have time for back and forth. We need something to make her trust us that you know and can be told in less then a second. We won't have much of a chance to talk and grandfather will kill us the second we spot grandmother."

War nodded, "There is one secret. Keith and your father wrote a letter. She keeps it close to her heart."

"Why?"

"After Kevin's parents were killed he spent a lot of time with your father and they became brothers. And after his brother was killed Keith only had your father and mother to smack him around when he needed it. So, mother was like his second mother and she loved him like a son. War wolves are powerful and cold hearted but they aren't heartless.."

Johnathan frowned, he hated being treated like a child like this, but he was good and for now kept his mouth shut. He understood the severity of the situation. Instead he listened though and his frown fell away as he listened. So what, they needed to find that letter? No, he didn't think that would do much good, but he didn't think it would help much to just regurgitate the information War had just shared with them either. He looked over to Wade, not willing to speak up at risk of being called stupid or slow or dumb, especially because he felt a little uncertain right now.

Wade nodded, War pointed out, "Just don't try to take it. My father will kill you quickly, but if you go digging for that letter....let's just say you will understand why she is called the white fury."

Wade made a face, "Are you serious. She is still our grandmother. We didn't even think about doing such a thing ad going in her shirt. We just have to mention to her. We aren't that slow, right Jonathan?"

While Johnathan hadn't thought taking the letter would be a good idea, he didn't realize War had meant she literally kept it close to her heart like that. His nose scrunched up as he made a face that nearly mirrored Wade's. At Wade's question, he looked to his brother and gave a humorless smile. "Depends who you're talking to. But no, I think in this particular case we aren't that bad." He confirmed.

Wade raised an eyebrow at his little brother before turning back to his uncle. "Thanks. But I have more questions."

"Not now." War rolled his eyes, "You know. Everything you need to know is in the archives."

"like you said, I'm like father, I want to know from here say then records."

War sighed, "If you two don't get out of my way, I will have to practice my war wolf on you both." He snapped before leaving them both. Wade wasn't going to stop him.

Wade smirked as he chuckled at Jonathan, "This is why I wanted to talk to you about War Wolves. Uncle War is kind of in the middle of the generations. I've seen exactly what was wolves do."

Johnathan looked to his brother and nodded his understanding. It was a big difference in the way of life between the War Wolves and how their pack was now. "Well right now, we might be needing those old ways back depending on how bad this war gets and on how willing our grandparents are going to be to help us." He pointed out. He gestured towards the door. "Is there more we need to get done before we go?" He asked.

Wade smirked, "Guess not really. But what are you going to do until we leave. Father isn't going to let you seat around and wait. And you can't leave the town."

Johnathan hesitated a moment. "Why don't you train with me. Like you be the one to work with me. Or teach me more about what you know about the War Wolves. I don't have access to the archives like you, and that part of our history isn't something that is necessarily so freely shared in our pack now." He pointed out.

Wade shrugged, "Because I didn't want to scare you. I tried to tell you about them on the way here but you decided to talk about something else." Wade sighed, "I lost access to some of the archives as Alpha so I make sure I know them by heart. There are just some things betas had the luxury of not knowing."

Johnathan frowned a little, stopping and looking to his brother. Something about his tone stopped him. "How is it a luxury to not know? Because you're protecting me or shielding me? Wade I appreciate that, but this isn't the time for that. How can I act as beta if I have no idea what we're going against? I mean I know nothing about what we're up against. How am I supposed to protect you if I don't even know enough to try to figure it out?" He asked. Again Elric's words came back to him yet again.

Wade looked at Jonathan for a moment, "You know what you need to know as beta. The knowledge in the archives that are for alpha borns only are meant to prepare the alpha for protecting the pack. The betas ability to protect the alpha has nothing to do with it's history or rituals. What you don't know, that I do has more to do with becoming alpha and not being beta. Beta is second. Period. They are always going to be and to expect to be equal to me is daydreaming. If you don't like it, then I'll find another beta. You aren't the only wolf that I could pick and you aren't irreplaceable. It's a simple luxury not to be woken by the sight of wolves and alphas alike ripped into more pieces then you can count. The archives show a lot more then works. So yes. Jonathan, you have the luxury of being beta and not having to know what is really around this pack and how this pack has managed to stay safe." He lectured before he sighed deeply, "Sometimes I can't treat you like a pup, but you sure act like one." He snarled before moving passed Jonathan, "I do my duty, how about you do yours." He snapped behind him as he kept walking.

Johnathan growled. "Why did you pick me Wade?" He snapped as his brother started to walk past him. "You know father disapproved, there is no one who does approve. Even you don't approve. You're constantly reminding me how I can be replaced. You and everyone else is constantly disappointed in what I can do as beta. So why on earth did you pick me for this?" He asked. He had always been curious and had never been given a straight answer. "You shouldn't be threatening me by telling me you can replace me. You're the next Alpha, if you're displeased with me then just do it." He added. He didn't understand it, and he hated feeling like he was thrown into the dark with no knowledge of what was going on. He had never been the type to blindly follow orders and that was all this position was. Wade knew that when he chose him.

Wade stopped and looked at his brother, "A beta sees the world different. Challenges the alpha and out of everyone you do that. You argue with me over what chair is yours. Seriously. By definition you were the only person that didn't bow down to my position because you are too damn stubborn. I picked the best beta I could. But that doesn't mean you are the only one that could have been selected. So yeah, I have to remind you so often that you aren't the only one because you forget, I'm alpha born and you think of me as your older brother to challenge. That's why I remind you. Because you should challenge me as alpha not as your brother. Get that through your thick skull and I won't have to tell you every little detail in what I do. Just think, Jonathan. What makes more sense a beta that challenges me to be the best or that listens to my every word and watches me make a mistake. You don't need all the facts to make a decision, I don't always have them."

Johnathan was genuinely surprised by his answer, and he didn't know how to respond for once. So instead he just gave a curt nod, waiting for Wade to start to leave again before he did so they didn't have to leave together. He didn't like that answer, if only because it made sense and it bothered him. But it also made him think. He cursed quietly to himself and then left to go to their family home. He had a couple of things to figure out himself and then he knew it would be time to leave to find their grandparents.

Wade left without another work. He needed some work and another trip to the archives. He didn't like the idea, but there was one volume that he knew he need to research again.

When Johnathan arrived home he went through everything they had about the pack history, that he could get to. There wasn't much, and he hadn't expected there to be much. Then he went to look up information on past betas. Trying to get as much information on all of them that he could. It was hard to find much of anything. But he kept looking and before too long it was time for him to find Wade again. He hesitated in doing so. Multiple times he had considered ways of telling Wade that he would no longer be his beta, make the choice easy. But he couldn't bring himself to do it. Not now. So he went in search of his brother to see if it was time to go.

Wade left the archives and started down the way. He just wanted to clear his head, War wolves were dangerous and named for that exact reason. He wasn't sure how bad things would get, but he had to get through it without an issues. It was important for the pack's survival.

Johnathan found Wade only after he had left the archives. He hesitated and then approached his brother. "Hey," He started, but then stopped. He could tell whatever Wade had just seen was weighing heavily on his brother's mind and he wasn't sure what to do to help.

Wade stopped and turned to Jonathan, he gave a smirk, "Looks like someone is a little excited now." He teased. He did it a lot, he was good at it so he sighed as said "Has mother left yet?"

Johnathan looked to his brother and narrowed his eyes slightly, but then just shrugged. As if to say he wasn't not excited, but he wouldn't say he was excited either. "She's about to leave. Or was when I came to find you. I wanted to come get you and see if you were ready to set out once they've left." He said.

Wade smirked, "We should go see them off then. But I warn you, Keith might not be our favorite beta. Some of what he can do is very....sickening." He stated.
