Johnathan looked to Wade curiously. "War is starting, sickening things are going to have to be done." He said, trying to keep his tone relatively nonchalant. His mind wandered though. What kinds of sickening things? What was Wade trying to warn him against? There was a feeling of uncertainty and he wasn't sure how to handle it. He did want to see them off though. He wanted to see their mother off especially. Something about all of this felt wrong to him and while he was sure they would be fine, he couldn't help but to be worried.

Wade smirked at him, "War wolves aren't just made for War. They are made to kill. You don't want to go to war with a War wolf on either side." He stated before walking with his brother to where his mother and Keith where.

Johnathan only nodded as he followed his brother to where their mother and Keith were. Kara turned when she scented her boys and gave them a smile as she saw them. She was glad they were there. She didn’t believe in family leaving without saying goodbye. No matter why they were leaving or for how long.
“You two are just in time.” She said

Arthur was speaking with Keith when they got there. "Hi, mother." He said glancing to his father that was busy with talking to Keith he didn't pay them any attention. "Nate wanted to see you off before you left."

Kara smirked a little. “Well of course I’m glad he did.” She said, giving Johnathan a playful wink. Johnathan didn’t care how old he was or what his position was, he moved to his mother and gave her a hug. Kara grinned even more and looked to Wade after Johnathan pulled away. He stayed beside his mother though as he watched her interaction with Wade in amusement. “Did my other son not also want to see his mother off?” She asked with a raised eyebrow, holding a hand out to him, welcoming him in for a hug. Of course she wouldn’t be offended if he didn’t hug her. But she was going to make sure both her sons knew she loved them.

Wade turned to his mother as she spoke to him and gave her a weak smile "Of course I did mother." He said moving to huge her. He pulled away a little quicker the Jonathan. "Just thinking of our mission. Father might have a hard time when we return with Sophie and Garrett. And it'll be interesting to see how Garrett handles not being the alpha and not bossing everyone around."

Kara gave a gentle smile and took in every second of the hug he gave her. As he pulled away though she took his hands in hers, not allowing him to pull back too far. He may physically be stronger than her, but there was a strength that came from her being his mother that was likely the main cause for her being able to hold him there. She looked to him lovingly and gave an understanding smile. She stepped forward and placed a hand on his cheek. “You father has you. He has me and your brother. Things will be hard. This mission will be hard, but you my darling are strong and smart and I know things are going to work out. You’re not the next Alpha just because of your birth order Wade. Remember that.” She said. Her tone managing to be tender and firm. She kissed his cheek and finally released his hand. Then she smiled. “And remember I love you.” She looked to Johnathan. “Both of you. And I shouldn’t have to say this, but Jon mind your brother.” She added with another smile.

Wade smirked as he nodded and said, "I love you mother." He said as he thought of what she said. It took a moment before keith and their father came to them.

Arthur smiled at Kara, "Keith will make sure you are safe." He said as he pat Kevin's shoulder.

Kevin smiled, "Don't worry boys. Your mother will be home when things are done and while we are gone, maybe I can tell you a little more about your alpha's childhood." He teased to Kara.

"Or you can tell her about something else." Arthur snapped which only made Kevin smirk, "Why don't you just do me the favor of bring back my mate without a scratch."

Kevin sighed, "Fine."

Kara giggled some and gave Arthur a loving but playful smile. “I don’t know my love, I do enjoy recounting a of your childhood.” She said. She moved to her mate and lightly kissed his lips, then gave him a tight hug. She would never tire of hugging and kissing him. And she knew things would be fine. But it didn’t stop her from wanting to make sure each of her boys knew how she felt about them. “I love you Arthur. We’ll be back in no time. Stay in touch with me in case anything happens here or anything new develops.” She whispered so only he could hear.
When she finally pulled back and smiled and waved before heading off with Kevin, ready to shift when needed.

Arthur slightly returned the light kiss, he had learned as a child that too much effection, even to your mate would cause problems. It's why he had avoided it so much, he did give her a half smile, "We can hope. But shifters are not something we are all going to survive." He stated. She had heard stories of the war but when she came to the pack there was no war to fight and they were not far from Arthur being alpha. He knew war. He knew war beside his father and he knew what happens in war. He took a deep breath, "You should get going before it gets too dark. They are most likely around our borders and you have a long way to get passed them."

Kara has given him a smile and nod of understanding and then left with Keith. It had taken her a long time to get used to Arthur’s need to not be as affectionate. She understood it but sometimes she just didn’t care.

Once their mother had left, Johnathan looked to Wade. “Is it time?” He asked, glancing a little to their father.

Wade turned to his father, who slightly nodded before he walked east, "You'll travel east around the pack and head west to the mountains. You are following a similar path as your mother but you need to go around the pack to do it. This way you don't meet up with them at any point and the shifters won't be able to take your form in order to trick them. Once you are east out of the territory, you'll go west around it and if your mother's scent is any stronger then a day or you see her, remember it's not her. It's a shifter. There is no way that you caught up with her and you are not fast enough to." He said as he lead them, explaining the plan of how they will exit the pack lines.

Johnathan listened closely to his father. Taking everything in. Though it was more just to understand. He knew Wade would be in charge the whole time. He was simply to follow his brother’s orders and protect him. But what if they ran into a shifter who looked and smelled exactly like their mother? He knew it wouldn’t be if they followed their father’s directions exactly but the whole thing made him uneasy.

Arthur added, "If you do meet anyone from the pack or your mother and Keith. Kill them." He instructed.

Johnathan tended a little, but then nodded. “Yes father.” He said. He waited for Wade. As soon as his brother they would leave to start East, to go around the pack. He gestured for them to go. They couldn’t waste any more time.

Wade stopped a moment, "Father?" He asked getting his father's attention, "What if we get separated?"

Arthur turned to his sons and with a straight face he said, "Leave the other behind. Do not go looking for each other. If you meet the other looking for you, kill them." He said.

Johnathan tensed but gave a curt nod in understanding. Then he looked to Wade. “We’d vest not get separated then.” He said. He knew they would try to travel through the night probably. But if they had to stop would it be safest for one to be keeping watch just in case? His heart was racing and he was afraid he was going to mess this up somehow. He kept that thought to himself though and looked to Wade as they left. He wondered if his brother was nervous too or if he felt pretty confident with all of it.

Wade nodded before he and Jonathan started east, "That's is going to be interesting. I suggest you stay with me, little brother or you'll get lost and killed."

“I plan to.” Johnathan said, smirking though the humor in his voice was weak. “I’d really rather not get killed so quickly. Can’t say how it’ll go with our grandparents but I’d like to live long enough to see them.” He said. Trying to sound playful.

Wade chuckled, "Of course because it's better to be killed by them then your brother." He teased leading the way

Johnathan snorted. "I don't think grandpa would take the time to make it a long death. I think it would be quick...you on the other hand...I may be suffering for a while." He teased, trying to hide his nerves.

Johnathan rolled his eyes, smirking some as he playfully hit his brother’s shoulder. “I’d like to live a little longer, thank you.” He replied. It was helping to make him a little less nervous, though he was careful to ensure he was alert.

Johnathan frowned a little at his brother’s words, but managed to stay silent as he took off to keep pace with his brother.
