Johnathan grunted - more from surprise than pain - as her hands slammed against his chest. He looked up at her, aggravated with how things were going. He had just enough time to try to block her leg. Managing to stop the worst of it, but she still landed quite the blow. He grunted again as the wind was knocked from him.

"Enough." Elric snapped. Everyone snapped their view to him, except Kevin.

It took a sigh before Kevin turned with a smirk, "Out for a run."

Elric turned to Kevin with a sigh and respect in his stance. "Beta. I needed to swipe behind the matter."

Kevin looked more serious, stuffing as he nodded, "Enough. We need to train."

Johnathan growled a little as everyone’s attention was drawn to Eric. He snarled again and rose to his feet, rubbing the back of his head as he watched the interaction. He wanted to prove himself t his brother and to the others there, but he also had no hope of actually being able to succeed. Not this time.

Alistair and Belle nodded as they moved towards trees, almost vanishing completely from sight in moments. ric turned to Wade, bowing slightly, " With respect, Alpha Born, you should see your father. He has a conversation to have for you." Wade looking surprised, the way Elric addressed him. Most wolves used his name, but Elric used a way that Wade didn't understand.

"Ok?" Wade said confused for a moment, before he started back into town.

When he was gone Elric turned to Kevin "I will free you from the Beta Born. To attend to the matter at hand."

Kevin nodded, "Good idea." He knew what Eric was getting at, he had orders and the puppies were in the dark. Kevin smirked, turning to Jonathan, "I have to leave you with Elric. But just to be clear, you did well. No good Beta, always wins. You have to lose, to know how to win." He assured him before starting towards town.

Elric turned to Jonathan, "We have work to do."

Johnathan frowned a little as he watched everyone. He didn’t understand what was going on. It to his surprise, Wade had seemed just as confused when Eric addresses him. His attention was pulled to Kevin and he tilted his head a little. At his words he nodded once in acknowledgement. He was happy to hear that. Kevin was probably the only one who would ever tell him something like that and not berate him for not doing well enough.

When Eric addressed him, Johnathan turned his attention to him. “What kind of work? What’s going on?” He asked, getting out of the arena and going to Eric.

Elric slightly turned to Johnathan, looking at him as if expecting to see an idea of what was happening in him. But there was nothing, he didn't know the danger or the reason that he was being tested; and he probably had no idea he was being tested. He turned completely to Jonathan before he stated, "We are at the edge of war. You will never understand the sacrifice that comes from such a curse. But you will need to learn to protect your alpha before your mission. You are going to meet the only Alpha standing from the last war. As you are, he might just kill you, if you survive. I'm going to show you exactly what you need to do, to protect your alpha, in case you need to. I'm sure that getting your alpha killed will make for a life ending story that you will have to tell the dead, otherwise." Elric said before turning aware and starting to walk, "Now move. The time for holding your hand is over."

"Wha...?" Johnathan stood for a moment, totally confused and lost. Of course, he could sense that something had completely changed. There was a different feel in the air, but that didn't mean he knew what was going on. "Wait...Eric!" He said as he jogged to catch up. He slowed once he was beside Eric, walking beside him to the Alpha he spoke of. Wasn't his family still in the Alpha line at the time...? He shook his head a little and focused his attention ahead of him. He was a little afraid of the answer that was coming his way.

Elric didn't slow down for Jonathan, he continued without a care if Jonathan was with him. When he felt jonathan beside him, "You don't need an ability to kill a wolf with one. You need to use your kind and you need to know the ability, which is not hard, even if you have never faced or read about an ability. You only need to know one thing. A wolf with an ability will know their weakness. You just need to watch the protective way they hid it and exploit it. You will get hit a lot doing this but you need to get back up." He stopped after a moment and in a flash of movement he hit Jonathan across the face. Watching his reaction and sighing, "First survival tip. Take a hit and get up."

Johnathan was frowning as he was listening, but he was listening and he was taking it all in. He'd barely been able to process it before Eric was hitting him. He stumbled back and growled. His first instinct was to lunge and attack back, but he stopped himself. He rubbed the spot where Eric had hit him, though it didn't really hurt. "What the hell? I can take a hit." He growled, wondering if there was more to this lesson or if it was simply to be able to get up and keep pressing forward.

Elric didn't reply, he moved quickly and swung again. He hit harder and he stepped back before he moved to punk Jonathan again.

Johnathan growled and ducked, narrowly avoiding the incoming punch. Then he lunged forward. He didn't punch, he had planned to, but then he stopped and instead positioned himself before Eric. He was getting fired up, but then he remembered what the other wolf said. To look for the weakness. Eric would be able to beat him with ease unless Johnathan found that weakness.

Elric hit him harder, he didn't need to hurt him, but that would be the goal soon enough. There was no wolf other then the Beta and Alpha that could take much of Elric's maximum force. He didn't think he would have to go that far. But he could tell what the alpha knew. Jonathan had too much of a temper to be a beta. All betas were submissive at a level and could handle being second. They all followed orders when they were given and no beta had a temper. A temper was dangerous for a beta of a pack. It could lead to the pack falling.

"What the hell Eric?!" Johnathan snarled. He stumbled back as he got hit again, but he did everything he could not to go down. He growled and backed a few steps, looking Eric over. "I thought we have somebody to go meet? Weren't we on the way somewhere important? Isn't something going down?" He asked. He was keeping a careful eye on Eric, watching for whatever weakness he could.

Elric nodded, "Yes. But you have a long way to go before you leave on that mission. Stop complaining." He snapped before he hit him harder. Again he was careful not to use all his force but he used mote then before.

Johnathan let out a breath as the wind was knocked from him and he fell onto his butt this time. His eyes flashed in anger, but he was trying hard to keep a lid on his temper. "Fine, no more complaining. Am I supposed to be able to find your weakness or something? Was that why you gave me that shpeel before this?" He asked, gesturing around him as if to mean the sudden hitting. He got to his feet. He refused to stay down.

Elric hit him again, "If I have to explain everything then maybe your brother picked the wrong pup to be beta." He growled before hitting him again with more force.

Johnathan growled and lunged forward. He managed to land a hit on Eric, though it didn’t have near the force Eric's punches had, had. He was aggravated and confused. Maybe his brother had chosen wrong, but he wasn’t ready to admit that yet.

Elric grabbed Jonathan's hand as he landed and twisted it. Pulling him in, as he twisted his arm harder, "Your ego is going to get your alpha killed. In just on moment, I could kill you and go after your alpha with ease. All because you lose your temper and forget the basics. Calm and steady, wins every fight."

Johnathan was breathing heavily, glaring at Eric. He listened though. He heard his point. But he was still struggling to clear his head. The pain from his arm wasn't even much of an issue to him. Finally though he nodded. “Okay. Alright.” He said. Backing away from Eric once he was let go. He was at a loss of what to do though.

Elric let Jonathan go and glared at him. "You will be the death of your alpha." He predicated, turning away from Jonathan, "And I will take no part in preparing you for that goal." He said as he walked away, "Return to the pack. I can't help you. I refuse." He said as he moved to the trees, away from jonathan.

Johnathan growled. He wanted to go after Eric. He wanted to prove to the other wolf that he was worthy of this position. But he knew he couldn’t. Letting out a noise of frustration, Johnathan turned and stormed off in the opposite direction. He debated about whether he should actually return to the pack or not. He was sick of being there. But where else was he going to go when war was brewing? So towards the pack he went. He couldn’t even seek out his mate, as much as he wanted to.

"Elric is a little serious." Lauren said as she laid relaxing on a branch. She smirked down at her nephew before turning over and falling off. She landed on the feet with ease. "But then again, he is right. Isn't he?" She smiled widely as she stepped towards him. "You know. While you are at it, tell my father, he knows you know now and they are back." She grinned, "He'll explain when you get back."

Johnathan startled slightly when he heard Lauren's voice. Cursing himself for not having noticed her before she spoke up, but then again going up in the trees was an excellent way to mask a scent. Johnathan watched her and tilted his head to the side a little, confused. He let out an exasperated sigh. "Why does everyone in this pack feel the need to be all cryptic and secretive? Is there something wrong with a straightforward response or straightforward....anything?" He asked, raising an eyebrow. He waved his hand a little. "Whatever, I'll find him and tell him I apparently know...what exactly?" He asked, frowning some.

Lauren giggled" Not you silly. The message is for my father and he will understand. You do not need to just yet." She smirked as she looking at him, "You know. Your mom used to do the same thing. Your father gave in but I don't think you should get that privilege just yet. I don't think she should have it. But brother does make for the best Alpha. War and I know that. You should know that too."

That comment caught his attention and he looked to her curiously. His mother? He knew his father was an incredible, even if they didn't really get along, he had always been closer to his mother. He shook his head a little. He had so many more questions, but for the time he kept them to himself, he knew he wouldn't get any answers anyway. "I see..." he said slowly instead. He smirked a little. "I guess I should get going to speak with grandfather?"
