Memories Are Forever (1x1 with YukiUchiha)

Ashley could tell he wanted to cry so when their eyes met she froze. She could tell him. "S-seven...." She finally said and looked away from Clay. He shouldn't want to cry. This wasn't his fault. It was hers but still all she ever wanted was for Clay to be okay.

He tried to hold back his gasp but he couldn't. He turned his back to her for a moment and then turned back to her. He then stepped closer to her and lifted up the sleeves of her shirt.

"C-Clay don't!" She said trying to pull down the sleeves but failed. All her bruises showed and his hand print from earlier today. She looked at Clay and then looked away. "Clay stop.... It isn't your fault." She whispered not wanting him to become angry that he wasn't here to protect her.

"Shhhh." He says pushing her sleeves back down again not wanting to look at what the bastard did to her. He took her into another hug. "You're not ping back there," he whispers. "I'm not letting you."

Ashley tried to fight tears because she had to. She had to go back. "Why Clay? Why care about me so much?" She asked and then hugged him back close. "Clay.... I have to go back.." She whispered and hugged him tighter. "I want you safe... I have to go back." She added.

Clay shakes his head. "You don't have to worry about me. He isn't king to hurt me, you're more important. I'm not going to let you go through this because of me, I'm just not." He says looking at her sternly. "I'll be here, I'm done with school now remember? I'm not going anywhere. You're not going back." He repeated.

"I have to Clay...." Ashley whispered. To be honest no matter all the physical abuse, she still had that love for Drew. "I have to Clay..." She said again and closed her eyes once more.

"Oh the hell you do I-" he caught himself before he said it and then sighed. "I care about you and this isn't okay, as your friend I'm trying to help you. Promise me you won't go back." It really didn't matter if she went back or not, he was going to fix it anyway. He was going to put him where he belonged.

"I can't promise that Clay I'm sorry because I..... I still love him." She told him and pulled away then sat on her bed. She knew her and Clay would fight over this again. She just had that gut feeling but she didn't care. If he went away from her life she knew he would be safe.

"How can you say that? How can you say you love someone who does these things to you? Ash, he doesn't love you, he looks to you as his property and you're not, you're not property your a beautiful young woman who deserves way better than the way she is being treated. Can't you see? There are plenty of other guys out there. He's dangerous."

"I'm sorry Clay I just... I just do. I know he doesn't love me but Clay I still love him. Sue me. I can't help but love him. Clay you forget he was there for me when you weren't. Our relationship didn't start off like this. It was better. It was love and I don't care if it's one sided now. I still love him!"

"Really, that's what you want to go with? He was there when I wasn't. Ashley, I've always been here have you forgotten that. Did you forget I drove all this way for you, not for anyone else but you. The problem isn't that I'm not here it's that he's keeping you from me and you know it. You're terrified because he's using your only weakness, you don't love him. You can keep telling yourself that but I don't believe it if it wasn't for me you would have left him a long time ago."

At those words, Ashley cringed but she looked up at Clay and began to speak again. "You have not always been there for me Clay don't lie to yourself and don't lie to me!" She went over and pushed him hard. "You've been gone for two years Clay! I had to find trust in another person and that was Drew! I love him! Stop saying I don't because I do! You know nothing! Nothing at all! You have no right to tell me what you just said! Just get out! Leave! All I do is anger you right because I know you have been waiting to chew me out! Do it Clay! Do it! Not like this day will get any better! Just do it. Get angry! Chew me out because you know that's what you want to do!"

He simply shook his head and her anger some what frightened him. "No," he says simply almost inaudibly. "I'll just go, you can have the food." With a sigh he went our through the front door and walked to the truck. She was right, he wasn't there.

Ashley calmed down and felt her heart forming a hole. She pushed away the one person who ever made her feel accepted. Who made her feel wanted. She fell to the ground and curled into a tight ball as she cried. She was stupid. Utterly stupid. The next day she didn't even talk to anybody. She stayed in her room, curled in a ball and crying. Why did she have to be so utterly stupid?

The next day Clay went back to work with his dad to distract himself from Ashley. He realized that may have been the last time the two talked as friends because she was more than likely not going to listen to him and if she went crawling back to Drew then he wouldn't be able to control his anger towards him. The best thing to do was a of them both and send in spies aka Jwnna to make sure Ashley would be okay.

Ashley let nobody in her room. Not even Jenna. She locked her door and all her blinds were down and windows locked. She didn't want anyone but Clay. She felt so stupid. She let go of the only person who she actually cared about. The one who made her feel so wanted when she grew up knowing she wasn't and now that's all she thought of herself. She wasn't wanted anymore so there was no point in anything anymore. She tried her hardest not to fall into her depression but it was just so much easier to let it consume her. Jenna sighed and went to Clays work, "She won't let anybody in. She's not eating and everything is locked." Jenna told him and sighed.

He sighed and nodded. "I won't be back." He said to his dad. "Thanks Jen." He says with a faint smile pulling out his keys and heading for the truck and driving to her house. He walked in the house through the front door and ran up the stairs. He knocked softly. "Ashley, let me in."

When Ashley heard Clays voice, she curled into a tighter ball and cried. "Just go away." She told him and didn't move a muscle to go open the door for him. They weren't friends anymore. Clay didn't care about her anymore. She wasn't wanted. There was no point in talking to him.

"Ashley, I'm not leaving we can talk through the door if you want but I think this is getting a little ridiculous don't you? I mean I've been home for more than 2;4 hours and you have yet to try to knock me to the ground." His thought of how many times she did this made him smile. "I've got gummy bears." He says holding up the bag so she could hear it. "You know you want to open it."

When Ashley heard the bag she really tried to fight the urge but she couldn't. She opened the door and jumped on him trying to knock him down. She laughed softly and then smiled. "Gummy bears!" She said and grabbed them from his hand and walked inside and sat on her bed. Her legs crossed and opened the bag to start eating them. She looked at Clay and smiled.

He couldn't help but laugh as she trampled him over a bag of gummy bears. "There's the Ashley I've been looking for." He says closing the door behind him. "I was wondering where she ran off too." He then walked over and took her into another great big hug before dropping her on the bed. "I missed you, a lot."

Ashley smiled at Clay and said, "I missed you too. You were gone longer this time I didn't think I would survive." She said as she sat on her bed against the wall and turned in her tv that was straight ahead. She went to Netflix and brought her knees up to her chest and continued eating the gummy bears. "What movie?" She asked as she patted the spot next to her and wrapped herself in her blanket, tossing Clay the one he used when he was over.

Clay climbed in the spot next to her and shrugged grabbing the blanket and covering himself in it. "Whatever you want is fine." He stuck is hand in the bag and stole a few gummy bears as she surfed through their options. He smiled at her. He knew she felt safe here and that's what mattered.

"No you have to help me pick. It's tradition you pick!" She told him and felt him steal a few gummy bears from him. She shook her head but handed him the remote and began to eat the rest of the gummy bears. Ashley's mom came up with food and handed it to them. It was Ashley's favorite. Macaroni. She looked at Clay with a smiled and began to eat. She was so happy Clay was there. She always felt safe around him.
