Ashley smiled and said, "Well I suppose." She laughed and took Clays hand then walked to the dance floor with him and had her hand on his shoulder and the other one holding his. "You really didn't have to do this you know." She told him and then just wrapped her arms around his neck as she smiled. She hoped it wasn't to weird for Clay.

 

[Lexus]

Clay just smiled down at her. If only she had the slightest clue. "Ashley, we've talked about this, why does Clay Waters do the things he does?"

"I don't remember. Care to refresh my memory?" Ashley asked as she smiled. She knew why she just liked teasing him like this. She continued to slow dance with him and smiled softly. She was enjoying this.

 

[Lexus]

"Clay Waters does the things he does because he wants to do them." He said with a smile confining to sway her back and forth. "Besides, you you believe I used it as an excuse to come home?" He missed her, he missed her like crazy.

"I do." Ashley said as she laughed and smiled as the song continued. She looked up in clays beautiful blue eyes and she stayed looking at him. She couldn't look away. She felt as if they were the only ones there and nobody else was. She slowly began to tip toe and move closer to his face but the song ended and she pulled away and smiled.

 

[Lexus]

Clay smiled back at her and kissed her cheek when the song was over. He always did that though so she wouldn't suspect anything out of it. He still felt bad though she didn't get to go with who she wanted and instead she was stuck with him and it was probably weird for her.

She enjoyed the rest of the night with Clay and when it was over she walked to the pier with him and held his hand. "Thank for everything tonight Clay." She told him and looked at him then smiled softly.

 

[Lexus]

"You're more than welcome Miss Ashley," he sways with a smile. "I'm sorry I wasn't your Prince Charming though." He then took the seat at the edge of the pier and looked out over the water.

"It's okay. I had a great time with you. Thanks for everything." She told him and went to sit next to him and smiled. "Nobody would have done what you did for me. I'm lucky I have you." She whispered then kissed his cheek which was something she never did. She smiled and looked out at the water. "Well I wouldn't want to keep you out late."

 

[Lexus]

His cheeks turned a light shade of pink when she kissed his cheek but he was glad it was dark so she couldn't see. He then shook his head and laughed. "You don't tell a college man what to do Ms. Valentine."

Ashley laughed softly at Clay and smiled. "I just did didn't i?" She asked and rested her head on his shoulder. "I mean it when I say thanks for what you did tonight. You really didn't have to." She told Clay once more with a smile on her face.

 

[Lexus]

"For the hundredth time you're welcome and I did it because I wanted to. Any time you need me I'm there for you." He says gripping her hand tightly for a moment before letting to. This was almost too much for him but he controlled it. "I should be getting you home like a gentlemen would," he says getting up and holding out his hand. He almost said it but he decided against it.

Ashley smiled when he gripped her hand and then she smiled and slowly stood up and took his hand again. "Then off we go." She told him and walked to the truck and let him drive her home and when they got there, Ashley's mom took a picture of them and Ashley kissed his cheek again. "Thanks again Clay." She whispered and smiled.

 

[Lexus]

"Any time Ash." He says with a smile taking her in for a one last right hug. "I see you tomorrow, I'm leaving early so behave."

Ashley nodded and hugged him tight. She didn't want him to go. "Make sure you text me." She told him and when she pulled away smiled. "I'll see you in the summer!" She said.


"Y'all are too cute." Allie says with a laugh and shook her head.

 

[Lexus]

"I suppose we were weren't we?" Clay asks with a laugh. He then turned back to the three of them. Any specific stories you wish to hear?"

"Y'all's first fight even if I lasted for days I want to know!" Allie said with a laugh but smiled and Rylan laughed too. "I would love too know too". Rylan said with a smile

 

[Lexus]

"No you wouldn't." Clay says clearing his throat uncomfortably. "Your mother's and I's first fight was probably the worse one. Clay says remembering this because it physically hurt him to think about it. It almost made him shiver. "Our first fight was over a boy, one who hurt her." He remembered it, it infuriated him Clay was sure if he didn't intervene Ashley might have been beaten to a pulp and even after she came angry with him because he put the boy in his place. It wasn't until after they were married she said she was try with him because she didn't want him to get hurt too.

"We want to know! What happened?" Allie asked as she looked at her dad and Rylan nodded. "Mom said you would tell us eventually." He added and the others nodded. "So tell us." They all said. They wanted to know what their first fight was about and why their mom fought with Clay anyways.

 

[Lexus]

Clay sighed "Alright then but I'm not proud by any means of what I may or may not have done to her boyfriend at the time."


Clay had just arrived home for summer and he was more than glad to be home. Though when he met with the clan he didn't see how he was most looking forward to seeing. She had been acting strange lately not talking to him, it worried him to be honest. "Where is Ashley?" He asked with a click of a tongue looking straight at Jenna. She would know.

Jenna looked at her dear friend and said, "She's at home." She lied. She didn't want to tell him where she was. Ashley made them promise not to tell Clay anything. "She said she wasn't feeling good." She added and yawned.

 

[Lexus]

"Gaven, where is she?" He asked with raised eyebrows knowing he would crack, he always cracked. He tapped his foot impatiently waiting for a reply.

Gaven looked at Clay and then looked at the ground then he cracked. "She's with Drew. Something about Drew wanting to spend more time with her." He said and Jenna hit him on the back if his head. "Dammit Alvarez." She said and sighed.

 

[Lexus]

"Ahhh Drew." Clay says calmly. He didn't like him at all, not in the slightest. He was trying to keep Ashley away from Clay. "So that's why she isn't answering me huh?" Clay says. With sarcastic amusement. "Where are they? I want to tell Ashley I'm here personally." He kicked up dirt waiting yet again for an answer.

"That's not the best idea Clay." Jenna said as she looked at Clay and could tell he was irritated. "She's at his house." Gaven said and Jenna sighed and hit him again. "I'm going to punch you I swear!" She told him and then looked at Clay. She knew something bad was going to happen.
