The kids smiled and looked at their father. "Mom was such a shy girl when she was little." Allie said and the others nodded. "But you made her feel welcomed huh dad?" Rylan asked with a smile. They never knew their aunts and uncles made fun of their mom at the beginning.

 

[Lexus]

"Yes, I did." Clay turned to his eldest son and smiled, "I'm glad I did too because that move made me her favorite." He says with a laugh from that moment on she never wandered far from him, she looked to him for protection.

Rylan laughed at his father and then smiled. "It made you her husband." He told his dad and Allie looked at the next picture. "Was this at the beach? Dad you let her burry you in sand?!" Allie said as she laughed and Cory looked at the picture. It was of Ashley and Clay. They were still young but in this one Ashley was sitting next to Clay holding out two thumbs up and Clay was just smiling from underneath the sand.

 

[Lexus]

Clay laughed happily at his daughter's reaction. "Why do you sound so surprised? You haven't leaned I let your mom do anything she wanted with me?l he asks with a wink. As they all have him gross looks he continued on. "That's the first time I had ever been to the beach."

"What the heck dad!? You never went to the beach before that?" Allie said in utter shock.


When Ashley and her family arrived at the beach with Clay and Gaven, Ashley was the first one to run off towards the water and jump in. She loved the beach. It was always so calm and relaxing. "Come on Clay." Gaven said and followed after his new best friend Ashley. He splashed water at her and Ashley laughed.

 

[Lexus]

"Allie we live in the city, there are no beaches here."


Clay watched as his two friends ran full speed towards the big blue ocean, he had never seen anything like it before, it was memorizing. He wanted to soak it all in so he could remember it. The way the breeze smelled of salt and the way the sand felt in between his toes when he removed his sandals. He thought the ocean was neat but he was still hesitant of it so he stayed ashore.

Ashley looked over and Clay and ran back over to him. She smiled that bright smile and took his hand. "Come on Waters. I'll protect ya." She said then walked with him back to the water and then splashed him with it and laughed. Gaven did the same and the two laughed.

 

[Lexus]

When he saw her bright smile Clay couldn't help but smile back. He followed behind as she nearly dragged him into the ocean. "I don't need you're protecting, I can protect myself." He insisted splashing her back as he tasted the ocean water on his lips for the first time, it was horribly salty but it was strange to him he found enjoyment in it. "I was just enjoying the scenery."

"Uh huh. You were just scared you scaredy cat." Ashley said with a laugh and Gaven laughed too. "What? Waters was finally scared for once? Is it going to rain?" Gaven said and Ashley laughed only to be picked up and thrown into the water because of Gaven. She gasped but when she came back up she laughed and wiped the water away from her face. "You will get pay back Alvarez!" She said and laughed

 

[Lexus]

"I'm not scared." Clay insisted again as he watched Gaven pick Ashley up his heart raced for a moment, he didn't want her to get hurt. When he saw she returned to the surface be breathed a sigh of relief and looked curiously at the two.

Ashley and Gaven looked at Clay and noticed he was looking at them. "What?" Ashley asked as she blinked and looked at Clay. Why was he looking at her like that. "Yeah. What's up waters?" Gaven asked looking at him too.

 

[Lexus]

Clay shook his head. "I don't know." He says before trudging deeper into the water. When he was deep enough to swim he took off.

Ashley watched him and then looked at Gaven. "He's swimming. He knows how to swim?" She asked him and Gaven nodded with a smile. "Yeah, that's his sport." He said and Ashley nodded. "Not bad." She told him then took off after him.

 

[Lexus]

When Clay felt Ashley's presence getting closer he picked up his speed. When she was least expecting it he came up behind her quietly and grabbed her by her legs pulling her down with him. He laughed at her relation and let her go.

Ashley went after Clay until she saw him pick up his speed. She picked up hers at well and what happened after that wasn't expected. She gasped as she was pulled down and when she returned up to the surface, she moved her hair out of her face and looked at him. "I will get up back for that." She said and then got on his back, her arms wrapping around his neck. "Go peasant!" She said and laughed softly.

 

[Lexus]

"Will you now?" He asks with raised eyebrows and another laugh as she hopped on him like he was some sort of animal. When she ordered him to go he just shook his head and took off once more, he went slow at first not wanting to hurt her and when he knew she's be okay he picked up speed.

"Mhmm. I already have an idea." She said as she laughed and then when he took off she enjoyed it. Gaven looked at the two and shook his head but he had an idea. He swam over to them quietly and when he saw an opportunity, he grabbed Ashley's leg and pulled her off of Clay which worked. Since this one was really unexpected, Ashley gasped and when under water she couldn't swim back up. She wasn't wearing goggles so it wasn't like she could see who was holding her down.

 

[Lexus]

When Clay felt her leave his body he instantly turned around. He was what Gaven was doing and he didn't mind it funny. Ashley was still learning, he walked over to Gaven and pushed him over into the water, freeing his grip of Ashley. Then then leaned over and helped her up again swimming back to where she could touch. "Are you alright?" He asks worry in his eyes, he always did this, he grew protective over her.

Gaven watched the two and laughed so hard he began to cry. He knew it. Clay had to have a thing for Ashley because he was always so protective of her. Ashley looked at Clay and nodded. "Yeah I'm fine, just wasn't expecting that ya know?" She said as she took a deep breath and then let it out. She was fine. She had to admit she was scared when she couldn't pull herself up to the surface again but she was thankful to have Clay. He was always there to protect her.

 

[Lexus]

Clay glared at his friend who was laughing at what he had done. It wasn't funny, she could have gotten hurt. He smiled at her when she said she was okay and then nodded. He looked at her concussed as she took his hand and led him out of the water. "What are you doing?" He asks wiping the drilling water from his eyes.

"Payback." Ashley said and when they were on the sand she told him to sit down and then she began to throw sand over him. "Don't move." She said and continued to put sand on him as she hummed along to the song her dad was playing on the radio. When she was almost finished, she looked at Clay and laughed. "Looks like you are stuck Clay." She said and laughed as Gaven came over and pushed Ashley onto Clay.

 

[Lexus]

Clay listened to what she said and did as she said still lost as to what she was doing. When she was finished he just laughed and laughed his head back into the sand soaking up the sun. That's when Gaven came over and pushed Ashley on him and he freed his arms from the sand wrapping them tightly around her. "Looks like you're stuck Ashley." He mimicked not letting her go.

"That's not fair!" Ashley said as she laughed and tried to get free. Her mother walked over and laughed at the two, shaking her head and pulled out her camera. "Smile you two!" She said and Ashley laughed but held up two thumbs up and smiled. She had a fun day with Clay.

 

[Lexus]

"So you see, that was my first trip to the beach and I wanted to hurt your Uncle Gaven." Clay says with a laugh remembering his urge to pummel him to the ground for trying to frowned Ashley.

The kids laughed and shook their heads. That sounded like their Uncle Gaven. "I think uncle Gaven just wanted to prove a point." Allie said the the boys nodded. "You were so protective of mom dad. Even when y'all were younger." Rylan said and the others smiled. It was adorably cute.
