Richard Bell Bertrand
Hucklebumble Pub & Inn

Richard drummed his fingers on the edge of the bar, waiting for the night time rush come in. Everything got exciting in the pub on nights like these. Willow was here to entertain, Eloise would be cooking in the back, and people came more or less to get drunk. Which, of course, did not help Richard's little "problem", but it helped him mask it and fit it with the others. He had been drinking on and off all day, and he was itching for people to get there so they could turn down the lights and he could hide more or less behind the bar, serving drinks and drinking them himself.

Not to mention, tonight he had another reason to be excited. He was hoping on hope that Esther would be back tonight. She rarely if never came on pub nights like this, she wasn't one for excessive drinking and partying, but she had said that she wanted to talk again. Something about this night made him think that there was a chance she may actually show up.

On the opposite side, if she did show up, Richard was almost definitely likely to make a fool of himself. For obvious reasons. So the excitement that was inside of him for her to show up was also paired with anxiety.

He walked around, making himself busy. He checked the rat traps that Willow had bought, making sure they were all set and that none of them had caught anything yet. Nothing, still, but hopefully but the morning there would be something in them. He couldn't really afford rats infesting the place.

Esther worked hard on making sure all the medicine was together, she also made sure that everything was set for the next day. She cleaned up quickly the office, putting together papers and the whole time she would daydream about her moment with Richard earlier. Now, Esther was not much of a drinker and she usually would stay out of the pub, unless she was going nag at Richard. This time though she had different plans, plans on actually staying around and enjoying herself, she even planned on getting a couple of drinks. The last time she drank though, Esther ended up extremely drunk as she was a rather lightweight.

After finishing what she was doing, Esther looked up at the time and checked out the window. Smiling she quickly went to grab her jacket, putting it on before she walked out the door and locked the door behind her. She’d leave everything else to the doctor, she had a busy day was looking forward to just enjoying herself for a while.

Finally she made her way into the pub, smiling from ear to ear as she sat down at the bar waving at Richard. “I’m looking forward to relaxing tonight…. So what kind of drink would you recommend for me?”

  • Eloise

Eloise spent most of the day in the kitchen, working hard as different people came in and out asking for food. She had made her way at some point and gotten groceries, usually the nighttime was when things really started to pick up. She was cleaning the stove when she heard the door open, immediately she went on defense and grabbed the nearest cooking utensil as she walked out. ” Steve! That better not be you! I swear I will kick your sorry—“ she blinked when she saw it was Esther, waving and eyeing the pub to make sure he hadn’t sneaked in.

“Sorry about that, I thought you were Steve….. That man should know not cross my path!” With that she disappeared into the kitchen and began to get ready for the orders as they would come in rather quickly as people piled in.

Willow was behind this curtain where the stage was getting dressed. She was humming a tune to herself, something her mom sings, and day dreaming about earlier. William had fixed the skirt while she was in it so it could be tighter around the waste. She was pretty sure her face was bright red. She sighed thinking about it. She couldn't even remember if he said he was coming. She heard someone walk in and peaked from behind the curtain to see Esther. "Esther? What's she doing here? She never comes." She looked back and then shrugged. She turned around to and noticed she didn't make the top tight enough. "Ugh, "Richie come here I need your help." She yelled out from the curtain. "Oh I can get him to put this necklace on me too." Some of the boys from her gypsy camp were here to. They usually did the music for her. "I can help Willow." One of them said. Willow peaked her had out and looked at him. "Drop dead the last time I asked you my top happen to fall off now I wonder why that is? The rest of you don't bother either I'm not stupid enough to trust you guys." Her head disappeared back behind the curtain and then back out again. "Richie don't dare you send someone else back here. I don't want people seeing my outfit for before the show."

The day had dragged on after the Camilla incident. The rancher put the animals away with Buddy's assistance and closed down the shop. Bryan heard rumors that Willow would be performing tonight. If that was true then that meant the rats were taken care. After some mulling over Bryan decided to head to the bar. He would eat, drink, and hopefully socialize a bit.

Bryan had arrived early. Only a few people were there and he could hear Willow asking for help. It paid to come early, now he had his pick of whatever seat he wanted. He chose a table that had a good view and sat down. He grabbed the little bar menu and looked through it. It didn't take him long to decide what he wanted. He put the menu back and waited. He was a patient man. This was a big night for the bar so he was more than understanding if the service took some time.

Marielle
>Park
After making sure that Isabelle was fast asleep, Marielle had gone to the park to clear her head and possibly stargaze. After she had eventually delivered the flowers to town hall, she had eventually found the girl playing with Suzy. She knew she shouldn't have worried so much. Suzy was a very nice girl and the girls often played together. But she couldn't help it. Isabelle was a very important part of her life.

Shaking her head, she decided not to dwell on her thoughts. She had come out here for a different reason. Glancing up at the sky, she couldn't help but smile. The view of the stars from the park always helped her relax. It's one of the reasons she usually went here instead of the pub most nights. The breeze, albeit a little chilly this time of night, was nice. It was the only reason her jacket wasn't done up all the way.

Axel Hazaki
Park

Axel was walking down looking at a poorly drawn map looking kinda lost holding nothing but a suit case and a bagpack when he saw a young women sitting in a bench looking at the stars. Axel smiled and simply said to her " its good to feel the night breez but rember to take a warm shower and to cover up properly your feet when going to bed you dont want to catch a cold now do you " he said smiling gently while the moonlight shined apon him

Ah, perhaps she had been too quiet when she spoke to Marielle. She shrugged it off, feeling her own personal doubts start to get to her as she walked back to her own 'position'. Perhaps she wasn't very likable-- she knew she was too quiet when it came to socializing. She just sighed quietly, waiting for customers to come strolling on in. She knew when it got dark, the place got more popular- mainly folks came to have a few drinks. She wanted to go home, but she needed to stay and serve the others. She got over her 'dilemma' real quickly upon noticing Bryan entering the pub/inn-- that was right, she didn't get a chance to serve him that morning, mainly because she was busy at the library. She then approached him, losing all signs of nervousness. Yes, she was a shy and nervous girl, but when it came to work, it was like a flip switched in her. "What can I get you?" She asked Bryan, briefly wondering how she should apologize for the poor service that morning. Though she found herself utterly wordless, and instead, decided on something else she could do. She knew Richard would probably be drinking tonight, like he did every other night, so she would try to help out as best as she could.

Atlas began to separate the ores, listening to Crow. "Well... thank you," he said, meeting Crow's seriously gaze with an equally serious look. They finished separating the ore, it taking a little bit longer than Atlas had expected it to. He stood up straight, wiping off his forehead with his arm. "Whew. Alright, Crow, I think we've earned ourselves a break down at the pub... it should be about time for this fun stuff to start. Let me run upstairs and get changed real quick," Atlas said, running up the stairs as he spoke. He hurried into his room, changing and grabbing an extra shirt. He said goodbye to his mother, kissing her on the cheek, and hustled out the door.

"Here, Crow," he said, tossing him the extra shirt he had brought. "Ready to go?" he asked, cuffing his sleeves around his elbow.

Crow was finishing organizing the ore's when Atlas looking at him and simply smiled " look he is good graduated top in his school's just so he can cure incurable disease's because of what happened to his sister anyway's yes to the Pub " crow saw Atlas go up stairs to get dressed so crow started to wash his face and took off his shirt to at least wash his upper body when Atlas came with a spare shirt for him " ahhh thank's Atlas but your shirt's always fit me kinda tight" said crow while putting it on it fit him kinda snugged but it was good because it showed his muscle's he grew over the year's minening and picking up heavy ore's from level's of cave's he was a very build young man " so lets get started " said crow finishing his Whiskey in his flask " man i little bre game before the major event" said crow wipping off the whiskey from his face.

Bryan smiled as Elena approached him. "Hi Elena. I think I'll just take a basket of cheese curds." Bryan replied. "Say was everything okay this morning? I stopped by this morning for breakfast but you weren't around. Richard was really busy and I didn't want to bother him so I ended up leaving." Bryan explained. He realized that might've sounded rude or accusatory. "I'm not mad or anything! Just curious was all." Bryan added.

Richard Bell Bertrand
Hucklebumble Pub & Inn

Richard was pretty much the most shocked he had ever been in his life when Esther sat down in front of him at the bar, and asked for a drink. "An...alcoholic drink?" he asked incredulously, trying to think of the last time that he had seen her drink.... which he decided was never. He scratched his head a moment. "Uhhhh, okay how about a dirty Shirley Temple?" he asked, not waiting for her to answer before he began mixing the things needed to make the drink. He tried not to go too heavy on the vodka, although he did have a heavy hand when it came to that sort of thing. He set it down in front of her when he was done. "Okay, try that."

As he was waiting for Esther's verdict on the drink, he looked up into the pub. Willow had peeked out behind the curtain, and made a similar face to the one that Richard had when he saw Esther in here. No one expected her to ever come. She might not get the relaxation she wants, though, as the bar sometimes got rowdy no matter how hard Richard tried to stop it. But, sometimes, Richard was the one being rowdy.

Elena was taking orders, specifically at that moment Bryan's, and Richard nodded in approval even though she couldn't see him. He was glad she had hopped back into work after the little incident that morning, and Bryan had come back, so they had another chance to make it up to him. Not that there was much place else to go in the way of pubs in this town, but still. There was a point to be made.

Atlas cringed as he watched Crow finish his "pre-game". How the guy wasn't sick drinking all that stuff was beyond him, but he seemed to be more or less sober so far. Although, Atlas knew that wouldn't last for long. Crow had a habit of getting very, very drunk, and Atlas was a good follower when it came to that. The two headed out to the pub, only taking a minute to get there in a small town like this.

"Alright, Crow," Atlas said, taking a seat at one of the table. "What do you want to get?" he asked, looking at the menu - and more specifically, the alcoholic beverages.

Camilla/ Pub

Camilla let out a sigh before entering the pub and saw that it was already beginning to fill up, her plan to sit and relax before it got rowdy was now out the door. She briefly looked around at the familiar faces before spotting Atlas and Crow, deciding it was smart to talk to them before they started drinking to much she went over. "Good evening gentleman. It got rather brisk all the sudden, didn't it?" Both of the men were fairly easy to talk to and she hadn't really seen either today, though thinking more about it she did recall seeing Crow for a brief moment while her foot was being bandaged.

Crow smiled at Camilla and simply said " yea it did get a bit chilly but isn't it nice to drink in this kind of weather because it warm's you up just right " Crow took a look at the menu and simply smiled " Camilla if your foot is felling better can i have a large Long Island Tea and don't work yourself to hard okay " he said while looking at Atlas " you do know you should get one aswell it has four different alcohol's in it Atlas.

"Cheese Curds? Sure thing." She quipped, about to head into the back to see if she could whip some up for him real quick since they were easy; however, she paused, looking back at Bryan as embarrassment filled her again. Her cheeks were lightly flushed from embarrassment as she tried to think of some excuse to say-- but there was nothing to it. She had merely woken up late, went to the library, and shown up really late for work. She sighed, rubbing the back of her neck as she spoke, "Erm, actually... I was late to work this morning." She admitted, and even though she had hid some of the truth from him, she didn't necessarily lie. "Everything is fine now though. I'm sorry I wasn't here to take your order this morning." She added before turning on her heel, disappearing into the back. She then returned after a bit with his cheese curds, placing them down in front of him. "Want a drink with that?" She asked, folding her arms as she gave a small, warm smile. She already knew how she would make it up to him. She would end up paying for anything he got, and even if he refused, she'd keep her mouth shut about it until she had already done it. Problem solved.

Esther was at the point in her life that she was ready to make some changes, ready to stand out and join everyone else in their fun. Since she was not use to drinking, Esther would happily accept whatever Richard recommended at the moment. She nodded her head and waited for him to get the drink ready, as she examined the room she saw people that she didn’t really expect be there. It looked like she wasn’t the only one breaking out into a new leaf, made her smile watching the town come alive.

“Oh! Thanks!” She said as she softly sipped the drink, it tasted good but at the same time her body was not use to even the littlest bit of alcohol. She quickly guzzled it down and set her cup down, smiling at Richard. “I will take another one! Or is there another drink you recommend?” Her smile was bright as usual, she still had her work clothes on as she had forgotten to go home and grab her normal clothes.

“Whatever it is you recommend, bring it here and I’ll give it a try!” She said, looking around the room again and seeing if she could spot Willow as she had it in her head that the two of them were having a relationship and it made Esther crazy to think that.

Before he could say anything she ran into the kitchen. Other patrons started to pop into the pub getting ready for the show. It didn't take long for Elena to arrive with the basket of cheese curds. A large grin formed on his face as he immediately popped one in. "Oh no worries, we're all human it happens. Just glad to see you're okay." Bryan assured. When she asked if he wanted a drink he pondered for a moment.

"Oh just a glass of water will be fine thank you." Bryan said. Bryan wasn't a huge drinker. Alcohol was expensive and led to hangovers. He'd rather save his money to put into his ranch. Being frugal helped him get to where he was today. Not rich, but not begging on the streets either. Before she left he offered her the basket "Do you want one? I'm sure you're going to need all the fuel you can get since it's going to get busy soon. Plus I probably don't all this cheesy goodness to myself" Bryan said as he popped in another cheese curd.

She gave a small smile, briefly remembering that everyone in the small village had always been so welcoming and kind, despite her quietness and preference of solitude. She had maybe seen the whole town once or twice even. As for the people, she saw them all the time since she worked at the Pub/Inn; however, there was a difference between seeing and talking to one another. She had hardly any genuine conversations with the town folks, so she didn't really know them too well. All she knew were there names and faces, nothing more. So every time she served a customer, she tried her best to seek genuine, yet there was something always there to reveal that....lie. Yet she still kept smiling, despite the fake aspect it had.

"Well.. thank you." She spoke, giving a small nod as she accepted his next request. Water. Water. She felt a bit more lighthearted about it, easing up a bit. She never liked alcohol, so it was relieving to know she wouldn't have to touch it so soon. She was about to turn away to fetch him a simple glass of water until he caught her attention with his offer. She shook her head, already feeling bad enough about what happened that morning. "I couldn't possibly... and if Richard were to see me, he'd probably get mad." She gave a small laugh, a brief image of his angry expression popping up in her mind. Ah, she wasn't too intentive on making so many mistakes that day. "Thank you though. Please, enjoy yourself. I'll be able to manage without it." She gave another smile, a little less fake than before because of how kind he was treating her, despite the fact that he hardly knew anything about her. She supposed that's why she liked small towns. She turned away, getting him a glass of refreshing water before placing it down before him. "Since I'm stuck working, enjoy the night for me." She added before heading over to deal with other customers.

It took her a while, but she had managed to get most of them settled down with their orders and drinks. She then briefly looked over at Crow, Camilla, and Atlas, wondering if they needed anything. She made her way over to the trio, pulling out her notepad and pen as she looked at the three of them. "Anything I can get you?" She asked politely, ready to write down whatever they said. She briefly looked back at Bryan, wondering if he was just there to see the show. She wasn't certain. Most people came either for the drinks, a nice show performed by Willow, or simply both. Maybe she'd talk to him again later since he would probably be one of the few people she could have a decent conversation with.

Bryan waited for her to return before continuing their brief conversation. "Well I don't want to get you in any trouble. Good luck tonight, I won't demand much of your time." Bryan said as he took a sip of his water. He let his mind wander about what Airne had said. Maybe it was time to find a woman and settle down. Although before he could get to that stage he would have to get a date first. Which would be a challenge in itself. Lately he'd been so focused on trying to revive the Harvest Goddess and work he was missing out on what was going on around him.

He felt as if he was being watched, he looked around and thought he saw Elena looking at him. He shrugged it off to him as overthinking and continued to eat his cheese curds. Maybe once he got a cheese maker he could sell cheese to Richard. Or make cheese curds to himself, although he would most likely burn them if he tried himself. Probably just better to let the chef make the cheese curds for him.

Since it was an appetizer it wasn't long until he was down to the last few cheese curds. He pushed the basket in the center of the table, indicating he was done. Maybe Elena could sneak a few bites in the kitchen, away from the watchful eye of Richard. Not wanting to rush her he didn't try to flag her down. The glass of water didn't last him long either, although the appetizer was delicious, it was salty. Hydrated and full Bryan was happy he decided to come.

Plus he was enjoying the brief conversation with Elena. He hoped they would be able to talk more. Maybe once the show was over she could sit down and chat. Of course it still seemed early in the night before that would happen. He wondered how much longer they would have to wait until Willow came out to perform.

Richard's eyes popped out of his head, seeing Esther guzzle down the drink like it was nothing. Nothing! How had he never known this about the girl? "Damn girl, I didn't know you could drink like that!" he said, whistling. "Alright, how about something a little harder?" he asked, getting a bit excited and playful feeling. He hadn't really felt like this before, but he wanted to know more about her and this was his area of expertise. He thought for a moment, then made her a long island ice tea. That was a pretty big jump from the dirty shirley temple he had made her, as it was 90% alcohol and 10% coke.

"Try that," he said, looking smug as he placed it in front of her on the counter. This one she would have a hard time downing, he knew it.

"Richie!" Richard heard his name called. He looked up to the stage to see Willow calling him over. "Shit..." he mumbled. "Sorry, Esther, I'll be back in just a minute, Willow need me," he said, stomping over behind the curtain and giving Willow a look that said "why in the hell are you calling me over?"

"I was doing something important, what do you want Willow?" he asked, before noticing that her top was a bit loose compared to what she normally wore. "Dammit. Here," he said, tightening her top around the backside. He wondered what Esther would think if she saw this. Would she think that they were a couple? Would she have a problem with it? Sure, Willow was a beautiful woman but they were more just friends than anything else. He finished tying up the back. "Alright, anything else?" he asked, feeling a bit stressed. He needed another drink.

Atlas smiled at Camilla as she walked over to them. Camilla was one of the ones who liked to stay away from the two once they started drinking. "Hey, Camilla," he said, giving her a smile. He nodded in agreement with Crow. "Yeah, cold weather is definitely the best drinkng weather. When it's hot it makes you just feel sick," he added.

"Ah, you know me. I am usually a beer drinker," he said to Crow. "Why don't you sit down, Camilla? I feels like I haven't talked to you in ages. How is it at the school? The twins driving you crazy?" he asked, trying to make casual conversation. Every now and then he would glance back at the curtain, waiting for Willow to come out. He had seen her for a moment before, be she had called Richard. Atlas had wondered for awhile if those two had had a thing, but they didn't seem like they were in a relationship, just close. He figured maybe they were just good friends, but being called behind the curtain was a big deal, wasn't it? He wished for a moment he was Richard right then.

Esther was enjoying the reactions she was receiving from Richard, it was everything she hoped for. When he brought her the other drink, she began sipping it slowly and let out a small noise. “That is strong—“ she began to say, but was soon interrupted by Willow needing Richard’s assistant. Immediately Esther became rather jealous as she watched him walk over to help Willow. She held on tightly to the glass her drink was in, the whole time wondering what she had that Esther didn’t.

She quickly, as much as it burned, downed her current drink which caused her to get tipsy and even a little more drunk then that. Her eyes burned as she watched them, looking back down At Her Empty cup. “I need more!” She slurred her words, fiddling with her fingers. “Who am I kidding? How my Ever supposed to get his attention…. I’m so…” She looked down at her outfit and check her head, mumbling to herself. “Plain….”

Willow peaked out of the curtain again wondering what the heck was taking him so long. She saw him talking with Esther. "Richie!"
Finally he came over. She smiled getting ready to tell him what she needed help with then raised an eyebrow at him when seemed irritated. " You weren't doing nothing but giving that nurse a drink. You've given plenty of women drinks." She said as she pointed to her top and he tighten it. "I need you to hook my necklace." She said passing it to him. "Wait...don't tell me you like her?" She made sure not to say it to loud. "Well now." She turned around and smirk. "And here I thought me and you had something going on." She said jokingly and with a smirk. "Now I've seen you flirt before while drunk so try not to get hammered tonight if you don't want to make your....friend jealous. I'll make sure to be good tonight. I won't hit on ya." She turned around pulling up her hair up getting ready to tie it but then turned around and looked at him. "Unless you want me to." She said with wink then turned back around laughing a little. After she was done putting her hair up. She poked her head out of the curtain and looked over where Esther was then looked back to Richard "Better get out there before your lady friend gets jealous~" she sang.

Camilla sat down and smiled at Atlas, "Oh they recently caused a good deal of trouble, but they received a rather stern warning so hopefully they won't do something like that again." As Elena came by she gave a small greeting before frowning, she remembered what Crow said and decided to go for it. "I'll have a Long Island Tea please." Richard tried to ignore Willow's teasing. "Yeah yeah," he grumbled, doing up her necklace. "Now don't go spreading rumours that we're a thing. Plus, you know I've got an inkling someone else likes you," he said, waggling his eyebrows at Willow. It wasn't a secret, and he assumed that Willow knew about Atlas's crush. He and Atlas didn't talk a ton, but Atlas was nice to Richard and Richard could tell just from watching that Atlas liked Willow. And more than just for her body, because pretty much everyone liked her for that - even the girls. Or, at least, the one's that weren't terribly jealous of her.

"Alright, I'm going back. And don't make any weird faces at me," he said, taking her advice into consideration. He walked out of the curtain and back over to the bar where Esther was sitting, with an empty glass in front of her. "Holy sh-. You drank that whole thing?! Already?! Are you okay?!" Richard asked, half laughing and half actually worried. If he had drank that no one would have batted an eye, but since Esther never drank he was legitimately worried about her getting sick. "Do you want some water or something?" he asked, making himself up a shot behind the counter. It was a bit weird to ask someone if they wanted water while pouring a shot but he was not beyond it.
