《 Growing on your local moldy tree stump 》
Parsley motioned for everyone who wanted to join him to follow along as he began leading the way towards Vespertine Castle. He looked up at the giant castle, and mumbled, "Let's make this quick then, we don't want to keep Basil waiting...."
As the group strolled down the road, the mage began adjusting himself- smoothing down his fluffy hair, tucking his shirt into his slacks, making sure his tie was on straight...one could easily see that he wanted to look as good as he possibly could for this small detour.
Once the party got closer to the castle gates, Parsley stopped in his tracks, and turned around to face everyone. "Alright...now, as you all are well aware, Her Highness is the leader of our fine nation, and as such, I beg of you to all act decently inside the castle. Please, the last thing we need right now is for someone to get in trouble. And as for Her Highness, she deserves the utmost respect. Not only for what she has done for Vespertine, but also because of what she is currently going through. Nobody has seen her face in weeks, so I assume her condition is deteriorating. So for Pete's sake, do try to hold your tongues."
With those words of warning, the apprentice led the small crowd the rest of the way to the castle gates, and they were met with another burly, stern-looking guard, who gazed down at Parsley for a second, before he...chortled?
"Ah, young Parsley! I see you've already departed from your humble abode with your comrades. Are you here to visit the princess?" said the soldier in a booming voice. Parsley nodded, a relieved smile appearing on his face. It was the guard who had came to the cabin earlier to give the wizards their orders to depart!
"Yes indeed, sir." The wizard motioned to the group he chaperoned. "They unfortunately don't know who Her Highness is, and so I brought them here to meet her face-to-face."
"Ahhh, I see!" the soldier bent down slightly, stroking his rather thick mustache as he gazed at every individual there. "Well then, let me take you inside, will you? It's better off that way: Sir Humphrey has been shooing away every visitor who tries to speak with the princess up close."
"We'd appreciate it," Parsley assured.
"Very well! In we go," boomed the guard as he opened up the castle gates, motioning for the group to enter into the front courtyard. Inside was lush greenery, the plants somehow even more vivid than the ones in the castle-town, shrubs and topiaries framing the paths and small fountain in front of the castle doors, completing the lovely scene. However, there was no time to dawdle, as the guard ushered the group past the fountain towards the castle doors, where two guards stood proudly, their silver armor shining as they stepped aside, pulling open the doors as soon as they saw their superior coming their way.

Basil folded his arms, taking a gander at who had stuck behind. It was clear he wasn't happy about having to take up the responsibility of babysitting the people who didn't want to go with Parsley.
Scratching his stubble, he stepped out of the way of pedestrians and horses, reached into his robes and pulled out a very (and I mean VERY) tiny, tattered satchel. He held it out in his palm, and fished out his wand from his pocket, before he pointed it to the satchel. "Amplifico."
Sparks began to flare around the satchel, as it began to grow in his palm. Basil tossed it onto the ground in front of him, and as soon as it hit the ground, the satchel grew to the size of a trash bag, but as soon as the wizard reached out to open it up, it was revealed that what was inside was far from trash- it was a giant sack full of glimmering, bronze doubloons!
"These are called Eurums. They are Vespertine's currency." he explained gruffly, holding up a doubloon. On its face was the fair profile of a queen. "I'm off to find Fauna and get the information I need. Follow me or don't, I don't care, just collect things we might need for our journey if you choose not to, and please, don't somehow get arrested or die the moment you're left to your own devices..."
The sorcerer reached into the bag, shoved a fistful of Eurums into his pocket, and began walking down the road with a swish of his velvet robes, leaving the group to decide if they would follow him or spend the sack of Eurums on whatever they might decide is useful.
