Richard Bell Bertrand
Hucklebumble Pub & Inn

Richard smiled as Esther slid her hand into his. This night was such a strange night, but with her around he almost felt like he didn't need to drink. Of course, he still was, he wasn't that strong yet - but it was something. Not to mention the thought of her changing her mind in the morning was looming over him, no matter how much she said it was true. He just smiled as she drank her water, pleased with himself for making her do something that would be helpful to herself.

He led her over to a table that was always saved for himself, right in front. It was the perfect spot to see Willows dance. She stepped out on stage, cueing for the music to start and began to belly dance, causing some whistling from the crowd. The dance was somewhat provocative, but in a good way. Not the kind that made you thing "oh, that girls a slut." Which, Willow was anything but. He glanced over at Esther, wondering how she felt about the dance. Before he new it, the dance was over and he realized he had been staring at Esther throughout the entire thing. He quickly looked away, hoping she hadn't noticed but wondering how she couldn't after he had started at her for nearly four minutes straight.

Willow then chugged a beer handed to her, which caused a small uproar but didn't impress Richard. He saw her do that all the time, it was really nothing special. He applauded her anyways - things were about to get crazy in the pub, he could tell. He took a huge, long swig of the alcohol he had brought before turning back to Esther. "So, what did you think?" he asked, trying not to breathe alcohol breath on her.

Atticus Fawks
Home

Atticus had tried to find Camilia but it had involved talking to six or seven people then finding her busy at the clinic- and talking to six or seven people was about all the poor librarian could handle. Some one would let the school teacher know about her property management. His gran had spotted him and pulled him aside to her bench- and unfolding a kerchief told him; “you look about to pop, eat a muffin.” So he did. She told him about the gossip and the twins and the broken wine bottle and Cathal's date.

He told her about his futile hunt for Camila and she patted his knee.

“I'm sure she'll find out eventually- she's got eyes.”

He had to agree, but didn't feel well about it.

He went back to the library- finished checking in the books and locked her up before dusk, picked Airne up outside the pub and carried all the groceries she had picked up all day. He never had made it around to getting her meds or the cabbages. But she had. She patted his arm as they made the long walk up to her house on the hill.

“You had a weird day,” She said sympathetically.

“I did make a good book recommendation,” he said trying to make himself feel better, “To waitress, Elena, the one who's going to read every fantasy book.”

“I'm sure she'll love it-” she said nudging him.

“Gran...nooo...” he said in defeat. She only cackled quietly at him.

Riley Donovan
Pub

Riley had left Camilla in Esther's care and tried to get the rest of errands done- But she'd gotten side tracked. Her father had told Mr. Heckly that of course she could come right over and fix his fence- at least she had gotten the groceries done. He afternoon disappeared into hauling five posts out to the far edge of Heckly's pasture and and replacing a good ten feet of fence- looked like it he had just left it rot out. There was a good patch of thicket on the far side which meant the cows were staying in- still needed fixing though.

She headed back towards town with one of her big mules, Teddy, in tow when the sun began to set. So much for her to do list. Perhaps she should get an assistant or an apprentice- but then she would have to pay them. She sighed. She had to leave to the city next week- her big secret and her big gamble were on the line. She Boxed. And she was good and if she could win the championship that would be more than enough money to pay off her father's loans. Just maybe.

She need a drink.

She tied up the mule outside the pub and headed in- and right into the finally of Willows performance. She found her self staring and then clapping along with the rest of the pub. She could never do something like that- first of all she wasn't graceful, second of all she just didn't have the same body type, third of all if she dressed like that she would die. She was having a profound moment of if this life goals or wife goals – when she caught sight Camilla in the small crowd. She gave a little wave. Her face was hot- and she didn't know if it was willow or Camila or both- or if she should go over and say hi and ask how her foot was- or if she should just get a drink- Richie looked busy though.

Anxiety won out and she loitered near the bar hoping some one would serve her a drink eventually.

Eloise

Eloise began to put the food on the stove, wanting to make sure everything was perfect for Cathal but she was taken aback when he held out a bouquet. She took it, looking at them as she gave them a little sniff. It was enough to nearly bring her to tears, as she grabbed something that would make a nice little vase and put them in there. “I honestly don’t know what to say….. The flowers are gorgeous! I wasn’t really expecting-- I honestly, have never gotten flowers from a man before….” She turned back to the stove, not wanting to show him that her face was even more flushed than before.

Esther Morgan

As Esther sat there, her drunk mind could only think of one thing and that was Richard. Watching willow it still made her jealous that the two seemed really overly friendly, but she tried to remember what Richard said. Then she remembered when he called her beautiful, no one of the opposite sex ever called her beautiful and it honestly felt delightful to hear. After willow finished dancing, Esther clapped for her and smiled brightly, trying so hard to push back the jealousy she felt.

“Her dance was divine! Honestly it’s probably the best show I’ve seen…. But—“ her cheeks became warm and still having thoughts about the two of them. “I still can’t help, but feel a little jealous….” Esther laughed about it, to let him know that she wasn’t a crazy person who is going to start a fight or anything. “I think I’d like more to drink though, after all I don’t get to do this very often!” She said, getting up to move back over to the bar, lost in her own mind and train of thoughts.

Atlas Simons
Pub

Atlas raised an eyebrow when Camilla ordered a long island. It looked like everyone was getting wasted tonight, considering that Esther was wasted it seemed. He probably hadn't seen this many people drinking here...well, ever. This night was sure to be eventful. "I'm not sure a stern warning helps boys like that," Atlas chuckled. "They're crazy, I heard they destroyed your mailbox today," Atlas said, hoping that she had heard that from someone else. "Or maybe they just came close to it...I'm not sure now," he said. The lights began to dim and Atlas quickly ordered a beer and a shot before Willow's act started. He downed the shot like it was nothing, ordering another one imediately and taking a long sip of his beer.

He leaned back in his seat, watching Willow dance. It was sexy, and he loved to watch her dance. He took at least two more shots before she finished, not realizing that he was just being brought them now and wasn't even consistently ordering them. That always seemed to happen when he was at the pub. When the act was over, Atlas got up - wobbling a bit. "I'll, uh, be right back," he said, walking up to the stage as Willow was downing her beer. "Willow," he called up to her, giving her a goofy smile and wobbling on his feet already. "You look so gorgeous," he said. "I'd love to have a piece of you," he winked at her. To him, he was doing a damn fine job of flirting.

Richard Bell Bertrand
Hucklebumble Pub & Inn

Richard jumped up, Esther was quick on her feet, even drunk, and she made it back to the bar before he did. "I already told you me and Willow are just friends," he said to her, the alcohol was really beginning to get him. "I mean, look at you. Soooo pretty," he said, touching her cheek softly. "You know what sounds good?" he asked, leaning on the bar as he walked his way to the other side, where the drinks were. "Shots," he said, reaching under the counter, all the way in the back for a special bottle of vodka. "I bought this vodka three years ago," he said. "I have only drank it twice, it's so good. I save it for special occasions. This seems good enough to me," he said, popping off the top and pouring into two of the shot glasses they had on the counter.

"Cheers!" he said, a bit too loudly as he clinked against her class, making a bit of the vodka spill over. He took the shot quickly, slamming it on the table. "YEAH!" he yelled, feeling energized. This was not normal drunk Richard. Normal drunk Richard was quiet and negative or fighty and negative. This was loud and ...not optimistic but not grouchy either. He was... something else? Annoying? Annoying could probably be a good word to describe it to anyone who wasn't heavily intoxicated.

Willow was talking to some of the men who came on stage but was happy when she saw Atlas coming up though he seemed to be kind of wobbly. She walked over to him smiling at him. She lived that goofy smile of his. "You seem to be enjoying yourself."

"You look so gorgeous,"

She was little taken back but flattered. "Thank you Atlas glad you think so." But what he said next really caught her off guard and she wasn't sure how to respond.

"I'd love to have a piece of you,"

Her face went red and she looked at him in surprise. "What??" Did Atlas really just say that? No He must just be worked up because of the drink. Why am I getting so excited this nothing. I'm use to comments like this. Though for some reason it did make her blush. "Ok I think somebody is drunk." She took his hand. "Come one lets fine somewhere for you to sit before you fall over." She took his hand and lead him back to the bar. She had never really seen Atlas drunk she just hoped he didn't go throwing up.

Cathal hadn't been expecting Eloise's reaction to his little bouquet. "Aw, they're only dandelions," he said awkwardly, pleased she liked them and deeply sad that nobody else had ever thought to shower her in flowers before now. What an outrage. "Thought I'd save nicking roses for the third date," he added with a little grin.

Bryan can't believe how fast time had flown by. She had been here a month or two and he was just really meeting her for the first time. "Well I'm glad you're enjoying yourself here. It's always nice to have a new friendly face." Bryan said. When she mentioned her mom had passed he couldn't help but show sadness. Even though his mom could drive him crazy, he still loved her. To have a mother taken away so soon, he couldn't even imagine.

"I'm sorry to hear that. I can't imagine what that's like. I won't say I know what you're going through, because I don't. I imagine she was probably just as smart and pretty as you. She must be proud of you for taking a chance and leaving the city." Bryan said a light blush on his face. It did explain why she learned how to work with her hands and was overall well knowledgeable. Bryan of course believed every word Elena shared. Not knowing that she was lying. He started drinking his water, as if water was the cure for erasing a blush.

When she mentioned she enjoyed reading his blush finally faded. "I've gone to the library a couple times. Mainly about taking care of fields and animals diseases. I haven't read for the leisure in awhile. What kind of books do you like?" Bryan asked. Even though Bryan wasn't the biggest reader, he was open minded and enjoyed hearing about people's passions. He hated when people in the city had dismissed his passion for the countryside and camping. So he always made it a point to be open to other people's interest.

"Yes... I suppose it's always good to meet new people." She nodded in agreement before shrugging slightly. To be fairly honest, she didn't remember her mother. It was like a distant dream, and if she tried to remember anything of her, it was blurred every time. She looked away, unsure of how to respond really, "Ah.... don't worry about it. I'm not going through anything tough about it. I barely remember her." She admitted, and before she continued on, her cheeks lightly flushed at the compliment. She wanted to believe that she had lived up to her mother's standards. She knew she never could, but she liked to live on to the small sliver of hope.

Though he managed to pick one of her absolute favorite topics. Books was something that made her hopeful. It made her feel as though her life wasn't over yet, that there was something beyond just in store for her. It itself represented hope for her. It didn't matter that they were fake or that some were silly fairy tales. They helped her get through each day easier. "As much as I love knowledge, I prefer fantasy books, actually. I've read pretty much everything in that genre from the library. Though Atticus tries to find me other kinds of books that I might be interested in." She smiled warmly, feeling fond about the subject. Even when she was little, she tried to read as much as she could. It didn't matter if she had to hide it from her father by remaining hidden under a blanket at night with a bright flashlight in her hand, reading one of the few books she still had in possession.

"It's a shame you don't get more time, but I understand. Must be really time consuming to run the farm on your own." She then excused herself a moments trailing on over to Riley. "What can I get you?" She asked her, and even though she didn't know the girl all that well, she could tell she knew how to make it on her own in life. She didn't need anyone's help. She was strong, something that she wasn't, no matter how hard she tried to pretend to be.

Bryan could see Elena light up as he mentioned books. Clearly books brought her joy. He listened as she listed her favorite type of books. The library would be a good place for her to work. Then he probably wouldn't see her as much though. He chuckled as she mentioned the ranch keeping him busy. "The ranch does keep me busy. Animals are fun, but very needy. However now that I'm a little more established and know what time is best to open up shop, I have more free time. I use to be open until eight o clock but that was a waste of time. " Bryan replied.

When Riley stood at the bar Elena excused herself and left. Bryan decided that maybe it would be wise to try and talk to someone else. Except for Richard and Esther, they seemed to focused on each other. He watched as Willow dragged an intoxicated Atlas to the bar, leaving Camilla alone. He decided to check on her and see how her foot was.

"Evening Camilla." Bryan greeted. "How's the foot doing?" he asked.
