Magic For Sale

Aria would have snorted, but Adel chose that moment to kick her. No making fun of the obviously sorry dragon. "Punishment? It was a misunderstanding. Just... don't take it so seriously and it'll be fine, I'm sure." Another bright smile, him walking over to her and gently placing one hand on her snout. "Adenyyd... you're actually a very sheltered girl, aren't you? Aria's only ever sparred with me, never attacked."

Adenyyd closed her eyes, the shame and guilt not going away. "I'm sorry..." A nearly soundless whimper as she reached out and grabbed Adel gently, laying her head against him and covering them both with her wings. "I'm sorry..." She said again, fighting the urge to squeeze him tightly. She couldn't bear it if she hurt him, even accidentally. "It won't happen again, I promise." She spoke, her breath catching as she struggled to keep her emotions in check. Eventually releasing Adel, she folded her wings and looked at him. "What now?" She asked simply.

"Now... we... uhhh...." Adel floundered, trying to figure out what he should do next. And unfortunately it was known that Aria needed to get medical attention. After all, she was struggling not to react to the several broken ribs she had. "Right, now we get Aria inside so we can get... umm, Ymir? I think he said he had some stuff for healing... and then we practice spells until Aria's back on her feet, I think?"

With a simple nod she reverted back to her human form, keeping her eyes on the ground as she headed over to Aria and knelt to gently pick her up. Trying not to jostle her, Adenyyd carried her into the castle, placing her down in the first room she saw with a bed. Keeping her eyes on the ground, she sat down in a nearby chair. "I'm sorry." She spoke softly, directing her words to Aria. "I hope you can forgive me. I understand if you can't." The words were being torn from her, she was unable to stop them from pouring out. "I completely over reacted and I hurt you and I'm sorry, I'll try not to do it again, I'm really sorry...." She was trembling by this point, somehow managing to shut her mouth before she became a blubbering sobbing heap. Drawing her knees up to her chest, she took a deep breath and let it go slowly, trying to calm down and stop acting pathetic.

"Adenyyd." Aria said, placing one hand on the knees. "Adenyyd. It's not entirely your fault... that spell probably has side effects you've not thought of. Darkness magic is tricky, unlike Light magic it can easily be contorted to black-magic, which is completely different. I don't blame you, I should have made it clear that this was not meant to be a lethal fight."

"I knew the risks. Even if you had told me that the match was non-lethal, it wouldn't have helped..." Her voice came, sounding miserable, from between her knees, not wanting to lift her head. "Once I saw you attack him... Even if the spell wasn't going to hurt him one bit... I wanted to kill you. For even trying to do something to him." She swallowed hard. "I can't have anything happen to him, Aria, not after I just found him." Her voice was pleading, that of a tittle child needing reassurance.

"I know. I should have held back, kept him out of it." There had to be another way to get out of it, but she'd panicked.... it was DARK in there. And her sword was hidden in the darkness, her power not enough to overcome the other girls power as well. A sigh, and a sad look, but she held back on purpose. "It's good that you're so protective of him... goodness knows he needs it. Keep him safe, Adenyyd. You'll only be hurt if you don't."

She nodded, digging her nails into her skin in order to not cry. She had to keep control of her emotions. Losing control is what got her into this mess. A deep shuddering breath and then another. "Where did Adel go?" She asked, in between breaths. She hadn't noticed that her partner was gone, too intent on apologizing to the blond swordswoman. "Which reminds me... Are you still my teacher?" She asked, her attention back onto Aria.

"Yes, if you want me to be. You've nothing to learn in darkness magic, from what I can tell, but there are other non elemental spells you can learn to use that might help you gain some control." They weren't as good for combat, but if she could gain more control then they might be worth the effort to learn... and she grimaced. "The vi- Adel is probably off calling his actually smart brothers for help."

"Adel isn't an idiot." She muttered the denial automatically, her thoughts consumed by the option Aria was offering her. Could there be spells that could help her gain some control over herself? If there were... Then she had to learn them. No matter what. "I'd like you to teach me those spells, please." She told the blond swordswoman, even as a knock came on the door. "You didn't have to knock, you can just come in, it's not like we're naked, A...del..." Her voice trailed off slightly. "You're not Adel."

The tall, lanky form of Tsukino in his work clothes was seen. He wore them, but hadn't bothered closing the overcoat or doing any of the finishing touches. He looked down at her, then to Aria, and then to Adenyyd again. "You did this? Good work. It's hard to beat a Pendragon's descendant." And then he was rolling up the sleeves, taking a good look at the armored woman. A low whistle, and then... "Ok, whatever did this is impressive at the least. She's got no visible wounds, and yet..."

"Ah... I believe I used Absorption Pool and Chains of Darkness in that particular moment... I had used Eclipse prior to that, along with Shadow Clones and Dagger Toss." Adenyyd hesitantly named the spells she had used, not quite sure if those were the proper names or not. She hadn't exactly learned these from a book. Nor did she know exactly how easy those spells were. Tsukino did seem impressed, but... It really wasn't that hard for her. Was it truly such an advanced skill that even the eldest brother, said to be the strongest, was impressed by it? She had come up with the spell on her own, only later realizing that it was an actual spell.

He shrugged, "Not many dragons bother with spells like that. They usually prefer breath attacks. It takes a great deal of power and control to do this kind of damage without an external wound." ANy of those spells was easy to loose control of, either destroying the shape or otherwise affecting them. He took a deep breath and began chanting in latin, his hands starting to shimmer, and then put them on her stomach. "I'll leave the broken arm, and the bruising, but I need to fix your ribs before I address anything else."

Adenyyd tilted her head to the side, watching the spell Tsukino used with great curiosity. She had always wanted to learn healing spells. Hesitantly she placed her hands out in front of her and closed her eyes. She was going to try and recreate his spell. After spending so much time mastering her own magic, she had gotten a unique grasp on the mechanics of spellwork, and could usually replicate a spell just from seeing it. "Atgyweiria beth sydd o'i le." The words just came to her and she gasped as there was a large drain on her magic. This healing spell needed more of her energy then all of the spells she had cast during the short fight between her and Aria combined. However, when she opened her eyes, she was proud to see that sparkling energy covered her hands, just like Tsukino's.

He looked up at her, expression guarded. Yes, that was a great amount of talent, and magic. It was a strong spell, meant to heal the body almost instantaneously, without letting shards from shattered bones or shrapnel float around. He lifted his hands as the glow faded, Aria taking in a deep breath calmly, wincing at the pain. "There, that should do it. Don't fight for the next twenty or so days, the bruising should start fading soon."

Adenyyd let out a relieved sigh and sat back down, having stood up when she cast her spell. She suppressed a yawn as the drain of energy started telling, but she couldn't sleep now. She had to watch over Aria, make sure she was okay. After all, it was her fault she was injured... Another yawn so big her eyes closed. "Sorry." She murmured quietly. "That last spell took a lot out of me..." The chair was uncomfortable, but much better then the places she had been forced to sleep in during her youth. She made a sleepy sound but forced her eyes open, determined to stay awake until... Until... What was she waiting for again? And then she was out like a light.

Aww... now she looked absolutely adorable. Tsukino, now having a tiny blush and silly grin, almost reached out to touch her hair. (Un)fortunately Aria chose that moment to summon Excalibur again. She proceeded to hit him on the head with it, "No touching the sleeping half-dragon. You're here for a reason, remember?" He rubbed his head, where a large bump was beginning to grow again, and nodded.

"Right. Now to fix that heart problem. Again."

"Not my fault magic attacks make my heartbeat irregular."

Adenyyd whimpered. It was quiet and small, almost unnoticeable if you weren't listening closely. Only the fact that it was such an unusual sound coming from her made it noticeable. She curled in on herself, as though trying to protect herself from blows. A fine tremble set into her bones and took over her whole body. Another little whimper... And words almost too quiet to hear.

"Please... Stop... It hurts...Why... Why are you doing this to me?!"

Tsukino had been focusing on the heart murmur, but once that was finished... he looked over at Adenyyd calmly. And then the typical blushing-goofy-grin came onto his face, and he pulled her into a hug. Not moving her that much, of course, just levitating her into a sitting position on the floor, using him as her seat. And he both smiled and looked worried. "S'ok, I'm here. They're not hurting you anymore." Quiet, murmuring into her ear as he tries to calm her down, enjoying the chance to stroke her pretty black hair.

At his first touch, Adenyyd flinched away, until she realized that his touch was gentle and not hurtful. Slowly she uncurled herself, only to latch on to Tsukino with surprising strength for someone already asleep. "I don't want to be alone anymore..." Another little whimper, but she was slowly calming down, the physical comfort of him stroking her hair relaxing her. A small sound, that of someone settling down into a deeper sleep, And then she was gone again, Tsukino's arm clutched tightly to her chest like a stuffed animal.

He chuckled, and sent a message to Adel. He may love the cute way she was acting, but... she wasn't his dragon. As much as he liked her there were limit's to even his ability to coddle and cuddle. THis would have to be kept secret from Areel. She tended to react jealously to his attention being given to the cute things in this world. And now he was rocking her slightly, enjoying the time with her. Sooo cute. I hope Adel realizes this.

Even as deeply asleep as she was, no Dragon could miss the approach of their partner. Adenyyd drifted awake even as Adel knocked on the door. She glanced up at Tsukino with sleepy and confused eyes as Adel walked into the room and froze. Together they spoke. "Tsukino?" Then they turned to face each other. "Adel?" "Adenyyd?" Spoken in unison. Adenyyd blinked and rubbed her eyes, getting up with a yawn. Stumbling over to Adel, she half grabbed him, half collapsed onto him, and placed her head in his shoulder. "I'm tired." She said childishly. "My partner...." And then she snuggled into him.

And Tsukino had the grace to look embarrassed, look to either side, and poof. Literally poof. A puff of smoke was in his place. Adel wrapped his arms around her, looked confused and then mentally shrugged. "Let's get you to bed, ey? I might even stay with you, if you want." He could use the sleep... yet another set of night terrors had affected him the night before, and it'd be nice to have something warm next to him for a night.

She was happy, content, draped over him as she slowly fell back to sleep... Until he said 'stay with me'. Then she jolted upright, her eyes wide with fear. "Don't leave me!" She gripped onto him strongly, closing her eyes and trembling once more. "Stay with me... Don't go... Please..." She clutched him tighter, her breath coming quicker as she drove her own anxiety higher and higher. "I don't want to be alone again..." A silent whisper, given in the dark of a memory long ago.

For a good while he stared at her, confusion obvious on his face. Then it cleared and he nodded, hugging her tightly. "I'll be right there, Adenyyd. Let's get you into bed... I can tell you a story, if you want." And then he lifted her into a princess-hold, turning around and walking out. She was tired, half asleep, and terrified... but she was his partner. How could he make this right? How could he make her feel safe with him, not worry about being left alone?
