Magic For Sale

He bit his lip... what he liked? Well... "I'm... very interested in Dragon physiology. We sometimes have one or two of them die... and we just can't figure out why. I wish I was smart like the others so I could help figure it out. And... my favorite color is bright red, I love meat... umm... I like to read comics...." What could he say about himself? He wasn't exactly the kind of person who had a lot going on... he liked some things, but it was typical guy stuff. Not particularly interesting.

"I guess this could be like a give and take thing, where if you answer something so do I. Just to be fair." Adenyyd mused, regaining some of her former spirit at his words. "I guess I'm interested in the bond between Dragon and Partner, it's not something I've come into contact with over the course of my life and I want to learn more about it. My favorite color is black, and sometimes silver." She grinned slightly. "Obviously as a Dragon I like meat. Now as for comics... I've never read them. Well, you know that I don't know how to read... But I looked at pictures all the time, I really like art." She added, giving him a smile.

"You can't read?" That was surprising. If she couldn't read she couldn't drive, since you had to pass a written test before you could get a license... but that was something that could be fixed over time. Still, she had a very intelligent hobby. Art. "Umm... you like art? WHat's your favorite kind? Cubism, paintings, drawings, landscapes or portraits?" Ouch. He sounded rather like a nerd at that moment.

"Magritte always has a special humor for me." Adenyyd smiled slightly at the thought of Magritte - "This is not a pipe" - before looking at Adel in surprise. "You don't remember? You gave me a book of spells and I told you that I couldn't read... And then you said that it didn't matter, and I could be a great magician anyway." It warmed her, that he thought so much of her. More then she thought about herself, at the very least.

(But... But... Where did that come from? I swear I remember... Whatever I'll make a new post then.)

xD I like it.

Adel stifled the impulse to frown, hardly noticing as he began to search for a parking spot. How strange, he'd just had a dream similar to that. Even though he didn't remember doing it in person... well, if she said he' done that then he would. "Oh, that's right! Hehe yeah, I knew that." It was at least a sign that he was helpful, right? She seemed happy remembering it.

Adenyyd kept smiling, shaking her head slightly at her partner's playful antics. However as she noticed that they had stopped, her smile faded and her nervousness grew. Shopping... She had never done that before. What was it like? Was it hard? Did she have to use her powers? What about Adel? What did he do? So many questions and no answers for them... Well, no time like the present, she thought to herself and took a deep breath to gather her courage. "Okay, let's go."

He nodded, getting out at nearly the same time, closing the car door and locking the car once Adenyyd was out as well. He took a deep breath, and then said "I guess the first stop is... umm, clothing. Underclothes and something easier to move in." He tugged at the collar of his shirt a bit, blushing and moving towards the large building. "B-by the way, this is a mall." Why didn't he have any female friends? THey would be so much better at helping Adenyyd than him.

"A... mall. Okay." Adenyyd made sure to remember the word, since it might be important later on. However as they entered the 'mall', Adenyyd began to move closer to Adel as she caught sight of the crowd of people within. She had never done well around lots of people... Clutching onto Adel's hand tightly, she dropped her eyes to the ground and tried not to make a sound as people brushed past her roughly. She would just go where Adel would lead...

On one hand, he wanted to laugh. She was so scared. On the other he'd heard that there was such a thing as a phobia of crowds, so he didn't, and on his back was the idea that for all he found the situation humorous it wasn't nearly as much for someone who hadn't been around people without them trying to mistreat her in some way. So instead he chose his path carefully, hoping to lessen the chances of her bumping into anyone else, and moving into some generic clothing shop. When they arrived the constant jostling seemed to stop as soon as they entered the store and got out of the way of the entrance. "Are you ok?"

Adenyyd breathed in deeply the moment they were away from the crowd, her grip on Adel's hand weakening as she finally relaxed. "I-I'm fine..." She said quietly, a little embarrassed by her overreaction. They were just people after all... But then her memories of previous abuse came back and she shuddered...

Looking around the store to distract herself, Adenyyd reached out to touch one of the sparkly shirts nearby. Frowning at rough feeling on her fingers, she took back her hand only to find that her hand was now sparkly. She tried to shake her hand off but the sparkles were still there. She wiped it across her shirt but now her shirt was sparkly too! Making a small frustrated noise, Adenyyd simply ignored the sparkles and went to explore the store for other garments.

Adel, noticing her escapade into fashion, chuckled slightly and then tried to gently guide her into a different section. "That's glitter. From what I understand there are a lot of women who like wearing skirts like that, but... uhh... I really don't get why. Then again, I'm a guy, and what do we know?" Maybe he could get someone who worked there to help Adenyyd pick her clothes? She seemed to be at a loss on what to do.

"Glitter..." Adenyyd muttered, hating the word. She hated the object as well. Who wanted something that stuck to them and wouldn't come off? Shaking her head, she gazed around at the large store, feeling a bit lost. Thankfully, a store attendant noticed her distress and came over to see if she could help. Quickly made aware of Adenyyd's lack of fashion knowledge, the assistant took it upon herself to provide the young woman with 'fashionable' clothing. "What do you think, Aden?" Adenyyd asked, posing in front of a mirror wearing an outfit the attendant had hand picked for her. ((Gah, this is awkward as an LDS, but...))

Adel, confused, turned his attention to her. Why would she want his attention on clothing? Though when he looked over her he realized two things: one, every woman tended to wear similar clothes when in summer, and Two: those sandals would be hard to fight in. He supposed not everything had to revolve around fighting, but that was just his normal view of things. Aside from capes, capes were awesome. So instead he shrugged, "Uhh... do you like it?" Yeah, step aside from the question.

Adenyyd frowned slightly at Adel's evasion, she didn't push for answer. Instead she glanced at the mirror and sigh softly. "I like the shirt but the shorts and the shoes I don't think quite fit... But for an outfit I can wear in public, I think that's a good start. Now I need something I can move in comfortably..." And she proceeded to move around the store with the attendant, finally leaving after buying three complete outfits.

(Decided to spare you the rest of the shopping. :P )

((Thanks. xD ))

Adel just followed behind her until she was finished, giving his awkwardly-worded opinion as she moved around, shopping for this and that. Once they had bought the outfits- he paying of course- they were back out in the throng of people. Compared to earlier it wasn't nearly as crowded, so he figured they'd arrived before people had all gotten inside the stores they were going to be buying things in. WHat was next on the agenda, he wondered.... they could go and get her a... uhh.... what did girls like? Well, there was getting underwear, but that was really really awkward for a guy to do.

One glance at Aden and it was clear that he was extremely uncomfortable in this situation. Sighing softly, Adenyyd shook her head. "You don't really want to be here, Aden. It's fine. Now that I know where this place is and how the stores work, I should be fine if I come back on my own. Let's go back home." She smiled slightly at him. "Besides, there's still a lot of stuff to do at home."

"I uhh... but..." Adel waffled, unsure of what to do. On one hand she could probably handle it, it wasn't like she was overly weak, but... on the other she did need a few things. In his confusion he headed towards one of the typical break areas, not realizing that he was still walking until after he'd sat down.

(( xD I don't know what sort of things to have Adenyyd look through. Bedding?))

Adenyydbsughrd as she followed after Aden, who had walked to what seemed like a rest area while having a confused look on his face. Was her idea that impossible? Did he not think she could handle it? Or maybe he just wanted to help her, she chided herself. Think positively. In order to distract herself from her thoughts, Adenyyd smiled at Aden. "I mean, I don't need much anyway. Let's just go home... partner." She let her voice linger on the last word, adding a hidden meaning as a seductive tone and a deft wink completed the teasing remark she had just given.
